Yelp
My boyfriend and I arrived at this place and had good impressions of the area.
It took a while for the cashier to take our order (having to handle a customer through a phone, which is, of course, is understandable). When it came to us, we ordered, but we never clarification questions. What I mean by that is if "would you like that drink to be slushy or not."
Thus n a disappointing meal. My boyfriend ordered a mango with boba, but we did not know that there were two kinds of drinks for their boba menu. And the boba was too warm to be served with the mango.
He also ordered a teriyaki chicken meal charred to the point it had a nasty burnt taste to the chicken. (Which does not clearly show in the images because it was not close up). When he asked to get a refund, I overheard the owner yelling, "it's supposed to be charred!"
It was astounding to hear this individual's lack of customer service skills as he was the owner (short Asian male individual, which I suspect he was the owner). My boyfriend could not hear as he had been diagnosed with tinnitus, so I walked over to see if everything was okay, but thankfully he got his refund.
However, the issue did not stop there. I am a huge food person, and I know the kinds of food I eat
The food I had was tonkotsu ramen and chicken Katsu curry with an oolong tea totaling $23. But the food was not as spectacular as it sounded. The tonkotsu ramen's broth was strangely on the salty side. Even the egg was cooked hard-boiled when it's supposed to be soft boiled. The only good thing about the ramen was the chashu, which has flavor to it. The curry, though, was sad as well. Lack of flavor in it, and I am familiar with the brand they used for the curry since I used
to cook with it myself.
Overall, the service wasn't bad until we had an issue with the food. I suggest if anybody wants anything ramen or curry, this is the last place to think about for "authentic" Japanese food.
