Google
Came in for a quick lunch with my husband and we’re not disappointed! Staff was very friendly and helpful and choosing what to get. Food was delicious! I got the chicken ramen, husband got the spicy Thai chicken and we shared the dragon rolls. Definitely recommending to others and visiting again :)

Google
Buy 2 rolls get one free is a special they have always and has us coming back to try different rolls. Miso soup is also delicious! Great place that is open during the late lunch hours where we find ourselves usually at a loss for sushi. This place does not close 2-4 woohoo Always friendly service and great value for price, fresh sushi! 🍣

Heather R.

Google
This is our favorite Japanese restaurant. The food is always so good and fresh. The staff is friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is clean and bright. Their all-you-can-eat is wonderful!

Google
A friend and I went there to celebrate a birthday and it was phenomenal! We came in 20 mins before closing and we were greeted and welcomed without and rush to hurry out of there! They had buy 2 rolls get one free, so we indulged. We had this amazing server ALIYA (spelling unsure) and she was AWESOME! the food was great. And we had sooo much fun!!

Kris K.

Google
A very good place to eat well and relax alone or with family, friends. Very tasty noodles. The staff is very nice and polite, fast service. Toilets are clean. Definitely me and my family liked it here) This place will now be on the list of favorites

Google
Kelly was our server and she was simply delightful. The food was wonderful. We had 3 sushi rolls for the price of 2 and they were all delicious. I meant to get some pics of the sushi but we ate it before I remembered...lol! We finished the meal with Mochi which was great as well. We will definitely be back!

Google
We have eaten here several times now. Their terryaki chicken is large moist chunks. The miso soup has fresh green onion sprinkled on top and tastes bright. The portions are large making the slightly high for lunch prices worth the money. Very nice place for lunch or dinner. The picture is of their large sashimi plate. Generous chunks of sashimi and an order of rice on the side. Update! New management but same staff, new menu and a fresh remodel. It looks good. I had the 18 piece sashimi plate. Very fresh and nicely presented. Come give them a try.

Google
I don't recommend this place even for a simple take out order, considering they don't honor their own menu. They serve warm sushi, and it's nothing special. The rolls are dry and come unraveled after resting for a minute or so. They have no real crab, so the "quality" you might expect in your sushi may not be met.. ALSO the menu is full of typos. The issue is they have typos on their menu even the new one, and they won't refund even when they know it's an issue. Good luck!

Yelp
From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by the most warm and inviting ambiance this sushi restaurant truly feels like a hidden gem. The atmosphere is cozy, relaxing, and perfectly set for an unforgettable dining experience. The service is absolutely top-tier, and Eddie, the owner, goes above and beyond to make every guest feel genuinely appreciated. His passion and attention to detail shine through in every aspect of the restaurant. The sushi is incredibly fresh, beautifully crafted, and full of flavor hands down some of the best I've had. If you're looking for exceptional food, outstanding service, and a place that makes you feel right at home, this spot is a must-visit.

Yelp
We have come back here a few times now. This is the best deal in town for sushi! Bye two get one free. They also stay open during the afternoon. No silly closing 2-5 like most places in town. Sushi is always fresh, nicely presented. Friendly servers, nice ambiance and clean restrooms! And there is never a crowd here WOOHOO

Yelp
Amazing dinner out with family! We tried the all-you-can-eat option and had such a delicious and satisfying meal. So many great offerings, especially the Wow roll, one of a few gluten-free options (along with the Alaskan roll, and Veggie Lovers roll). Kim, our server, was awesome, friendly, helpful, efficient, as we're all the servers! We watched baseball and laughed and ate to our hearts' content. Good music on in background, too. What a bargain for the quality and variety and quantity of food we ate! Definitely will go back. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Great food and great server Amanda! We ordered The Lion King roll, California roll, and golden California roll. It was amazing and delicious. We also got Bulgogi fries which were way better than we expected.

Yelp
One of best sushi spots I've been to! They have such a nice ambiance and amazing service. Positives: - fair pricing - amazing service - beautiful place - fresh sashimi & nigiri - flavorful rolls - perfect portioning Negatives: - to be honest, I don't have any negatives.

Claire M.

Yelp
Amazing service, delicious fresh sushi. The rolls are a great size and they have an amazing buy 2 rolls get 1 free special. So we got six rolls for the price of four. Spent less than we would have at Mikuni for more rolls! We got the Oh Yes, Half & Half, Happy Day, Lucky 7 and Ichiban. We also had their Soju flight. All for under $100. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The food were great.. Try the OMG roll, Bay scallop and Beef ramen of course the appetizer pepperfin tuna. Service was awesome and fast. And you'll love the ambiance.. phenomenal experience i would say.

Yelp
I rarely give a 5 star review, but this place deserves it. Service was prompt and courteous. The server clearly knew the menu well and she made recommendations to us and accommodations for us. We were in a group, but she provided separate tickets. She didn't hover, but was watchful when we needed refills of their truly delicious green tea and boxes at the end of our meal. There is a wide variety of dishes on the menu. The lunch special is chicken teriyaki. A large serving of grilled chicken comes with white rice, a green salad, and your choice of potstickers or sushi roll. The chicken was grilled and served without sauce. Bottles of teriyaki, soy and sriracha were on the table so we could season our plate as we liked. Everyone was pleased with their choice and there were three clean plates at our table. Though this place is in a small strip mall across from Sierra College, it was very quiet inside. An absolute must for us aging diners! My ticket was $20, which is about in line with lunch specials these days and considering the generosity of the servings. Planning to return to try the fish!

Yelp
The freshest sashimi we've had on the mainland and we loved their rolls too. Excellent service. We want to take all our friends and family here
google avatar

Yelp
Love this sushi restaurant. The ambiance and service are perfect, and the sushi is delectable! Our favorites are the Tokyo Dori, Popcorn and Highway 65 rolls.
google avatar

Yelp
The sashimi is always delicious and fresh. The Aloha rolls, pepper fin tuna, Korean Beef, and kimchi are some of my go to dishes.

Yelp
We have been going to this establishment for over 20 years. When we heard that the place had been sold, we were a little nervous at first. But the new owners have done such a great job with updating the decor. The service staff stayed on and they are wonderful. The menu is pretty much the same but they added some new items to the menu. They also run some good specials which is nice since things are getting so expensive. If you love sushi rolls, buy two rolls and get one free. It's a great deal.
google avatar

Summer D.

Yelp
Fresh and tasty sushi with fantastic specials like $1.99 Sake on Wednesdays and Saturdays as well as Buy 2 rolls get 1 free!! The ambience was beautiful...they have a cherry blossom tree, pretty plants and comfortable seating. There are several tv's showing the Olympics right now. Eddy and his parents own this local restaurant and they worked really hard to get it started this April 2024. Everything was newly renovated and super clean. They are located right across from Sierra College. There's lots of parking. I'm definitely going to be a regular here.

Yelp
Service was excellent, our waitress was the only one there and she was hustling while providing great service. Food was delicious as always. Love the shirts they all wear!
google avatar

Samantha H.

Yelp
Very nice staff and space but surprisingly empty when we were there. I got the veggie tempura platter and my husband got the spicy chicken. We also had sake bombs. Very good food and price seemed fair. We would like to come again with my in-laws.

Yelp
Dropped in for a quick roll to go. Tried ordering via the Yelp app but it's didn't quite work, so I ordered on site. Server was super sweet! The roll was done in no time and I was on my way! Really great taste, didn't love the mayo on top but it didn't keep me from enjoying it ;) Would like to return and try more...

Yelp
Great service!! They gave us a free miso soup and did a wonderful presentation with our rolls putting them in a boat. They also had a special for 2 rolls you get a 3rd free. The inside is decorated well too. Spacious, comfortable, and great food. My new go to spot!

Anita A.

Yelp
Dining at Tokyo Dori was a delightful experience. We loved the beautiful ambience and cozy atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating which made our pleasant dining experience. We will definitely coming back.

Veronica C.

Yelp
This place is so good, you guys need to go please i'm begging at this point on my hands and knees. They made me do a little dance to get my water refilled but Ed Sheeran on aux really sealed the deal. If you're reading this you know have 24 hours to eat here or something bad will happen...
google avatar

Lina D.

Yelp
their food was good and the customer service was on point. will go back again. very cute restaurant as well. the kimchi was very good. my husband tried the chicken teriyaki and was not so impressed with it. but the other food I got was good.

Yelp
We were craving Japanese food the other evening, so we ordered from Tokyo Dori. The experience was pretty good. Our meal consisted of a roll, calamari, shrimp, and a salad. The Funky Roll included deep-fried shrimp, cucumber with Ebi, avocado and a sauce. We liked this item, but it would have been better with a little more shrimp. The Calamari was tasty but, in my opinion, too much breading and not enough calamari. Our favorite was the Shrimp Katsu. Not overly breaded and large, plumb shrimp. I would order this again. The Sunomono Salad was OK. The cucumber was marinated in a sweet ginger sauce and snow crab. This salad was a little short in flavor. Prices were competitive.

Yelp
Checked this place out for Lunch and it was ok. The service was good and my hostess was super nice. Simple Menu with lots of options. I wasn't impressed with my roll and found the rice was too soft and mushy. But other then that I was happy.
google avatar

Paul G.

Yelp
I ordered from this restaurant via Uber Eats before I checked Yelp and I'm glad I didn't. I'm surprised it has such a low overall rating. We got the California rolls and crazy rolls. Both were very good. The crazy rolls had this thousand island-like sauce but it worked. Both rolls tasted fresh. I will say that neither had much spice to them so the included wasabi was necessary. I will try their grill stuff next time.

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Service was excellent. Very quick, responsive, and accommodating. We ordered spicy edamame and pepperfin for an appetizer Plus 3 rolls. Buy 2 get 1 free (dine in special). The food was A+. They definitely did not skimp on the ingredients used. We came for lunch on a Saturday and the vibe was calm and relaxed which is my personal preference. Very impressed and will certainly be back!

Yelp
Excellent. The owner Eddie takes pride in his new business. The quality is exquisite. He's been a chef at a previous quality sushi restaurant and has brought his expertise to his new business. Very highly recommended. My new sushi spot.

Tom M.

Yelp
I came back after I heard there was new ownership. Strongly recommend! Remodeled and sushi is great.

Yelp
I LOVE the food here!! I have loved this restaurant since the first time I came here, and continue to come back. The service here is amazing, and makes you feel more welcome than other restaurants. My friend and I even come enough that our favorite server remembers our order by heart each time, even our sodas. They recently did a remodel, which took the restaurant I already loved and gave it a newer nicer ambiance.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of having lunch here after the DICE job fair at Sierra College this past Wednesday. We ordered the Tempura Platter, Vegetable w/Noodle, Miso Soup, Tokyo Dori Roll, Dancing Spicy Tuna Roll. Let's start with the atmosphere: very relaxed yet, clean and quaint. Service: Fast & Friendly, Food: Tempura was crispy, light & deliciously fresh. Sushi rolls were delightfully delicious, very flavorful with a clean, pleasant presentation. Miso soup came out pleasantly piping hot, not lukewarm like some other places. It was very flavorful, but I wish it had more seaweed. Those vegetables with noodles were the star of the show for me. They had a nice charred flavor with a delicious sesame side note. All the vegetables were cooked to perfection. If you're a noodle fan like me, make sure to order some. You will not be disappointed and you can thank me later lol. If you're in the area and in the mood, treat yourself! I will definitely be back. Food was so delicious, I forgot to take pictures.

Yelp
This place is my favorite sushi restaurant. It's been a while since I enjoyed a meal with my family. My husband had the beef teriyaki and we ordered the Boat A . My family was very satisfied with the food and customer service. They also changed the interior and it was amazing!!!
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
The staff (I assume the owners) were so sweet. The food was amazing as well. We started with something simple, mixed tempura. It was the best I have had. Very fresh, the right amount of batter, perfectly cooked. Got four rolls and loved them all. Food quality was incredible. My new favorite Sushi spot.
google avatar

Ralph S.

Yelp
For me 4 stars is a top rating... (the 5 saved for very special nights and places out). Yelp led us to this place... and you Yelp people are right on... it was a very good dinner. This is a very good sushi establishment. Fish was fresh, and cuts were good. We tried crazy roll... very good, very flavorful; and Icibion roll... also good in a different way. People are very nice, parking is good. Plenty of seating, including a sushi bar if you like up close. If I lived in area, this would become a regular stop.. as is, when I visit we will stop by.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service! We went there for the Korean special, Jampong, a seafood stew with thick white noodles served in a huge bowl, very shareable but my mom and I got our own. I wish I had taken a pic of it. It's a great dish to have on a cold rainy day, but really any day.

Pat N.

Yelp
My family and I ordered so much sushi, it was delicious! My favorites were the OMG and the hole in one roll... the pepperfin was also crazy good. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jen G.

Yelp
I love this restaurant! every time my family and I come here, the owner comes out to check on us, the staff is so friendly and kind to all of us. The food is amazing and the sushi tastes so fresh. The restaurant is very homey feeling and has a very calm ambiance. But just the kind staff really makes this place such a staple. Will be coming back more often!!

Yelp
I just moved to Rocklin from Roseville. First time trying this place and it was great! I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki plate, the Honey Spicy Chicken plate, and the gyozas. DELICIOUS and huge portions! Plates came with steamed white rice and salad. I would have preferred the salad dressing to be on the side since the salad was a little soaked and soggy. Otherwise very yummy food and will be back. Definitely a must-try!

Sara H.

Yelp
Love the staff and the sushi. 10/10 wonderful rolls, we have never been disappointed. My husband loves the chicken teriyaki and my 13 year old and I love the sushi rolls

Joanne L.

Yelp
Absolutely blown away by the transformation at Tokyo Dori. Since it's been under new ownership, the restaurant has been renovated which has elevated the dining experience. The food and service is impeccable. We dined here last weekend and the staff were so attentive and friendly. The food was also fantastic - fresh and so flavorful. Can't wait to return!

J D.

Yelp
I've been coming here since childhood, and now that I live out of state, it's one of my first stops every time I'm back in town!! All of the chicken entrees are great, and the gyoza is the best. They recently renovated and it looks so nice inside. The service is always excellent! Takeaway/delivery is always quick as well.

David H.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't left a review of Tokyo D yet. Tokyo D has been a staple of the area for good reason. I have been coming here since high school and it's still a go to for me and my family. Used to come here with friends in college before going out, now I come here for family dinners. The staff are super friendly and warm, the beer is cold, and the food is bomb. It's perfect.

Evanne C.

Yelp
Always very friendly, fast service and consistently tasty! We love this place :) will always come back for more
google avatar

Jessica H.

Yelp
Tons of options, delicious sushi and dishes, fantastic customer service. Even our kiddo, who is an incredibly picky eater, is willing to try sushi from here each time we go.
google avatar

Debie L.

Yelp
Social distancing enforced. Nice mom and pop shop to get your sushi/udon cravings satisfied. Wait isn't too long if you order there and there's space to sit and wait. There are some daily specials there as well, check out the chalkboard there. :)

Melissa R.

Yelp
This review is from my 10yo son: Yummy, good, delicious, and awesome. As for me: The rolls are good and the staff is very friendly.

Mariana C.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this gem on Christmas Eve. It was one of the only places open and it did not disappoint! The staff were all so friendly and amazing. The food came out super quick and was soo delicious!! We had the kimchee and some sashimi, along with some seaweed and cucumber salads, which were all amazing. We had some hot sake which was also hitting the spot. Our server was so nice and made us feel so welcomed and at home. I've gone back since then and don't have anything negative to say! I love this place!
google avatar

Robert R.

Yelp
Great service and nice place but the sushi rolls just weren't that impressive. The seaweed wrap was thick and chewy. The rice and fish wasn't high quality, and the deep fried shrimp wasn't the most flavorful. Probably won't be back and wouldn't recommend.
google avatar

Prescila B.

Yelp
Came in here before work, didn't realize it was right across the street from a jr college .. When college students are judging food and reviewing on yelp it's generally mediocre even if there's lots of stars, college students often base their reviews on cost and service only. If it's inexpensive they will let the quality of the food slide a bit because of the affordability. Anyways, I was already sketchy getting sushi that only gets 3 1/2 stars however my favorite sushi spot in all of Sacramento only has 3 1/2 stars which I find to be crazy. Kobe sushi in N. Natomas has the same quality as Mikuni, everything is cut fresh and they are almost always on point. But I digress, first and foremost I didn't look at prices because I assumed it would be comparable in cost to most other sushi restaurants. I was mistaken. Hamachi, was $14 which is on the higher end for the size of the portion served, my fresh salmon hand roll was $7- which is on the more expensive side and my Hamachi hand roll was $8. That's about $2-3 dollars more than most other sushi places. I thought, I better be in for a treat! I asked them for extra cabbage or greens under my Hamachi, as that is typical bedding they serve the fish on. I walk in and the server warned me that extra iceberg lettuce under my Hamachi Kama (cooked collarbone meat) would be an additional $5. Ummm..CRAZY.. NO THANKS. I wish I had gotten warned about everything LOL! Now if this had been top notch fish, it could justify the price. Well the Hamachi Kama was good, not overcooked, juicy, it was very expensive for such a small portion. The other fish however? It is my opinion that the fish was not high-quality. The salmon had a weird flavor that you only get from cheap places. It almost taste like a hint of chemicals or something, I ate it as it didn't have a sour or fishy taste which meant it was at least not old but I was definitely disappointed. The Fresh Hamachi hand roll? I couldn't even finish. First red flag is it was cut into tiny little pieces, not sick strips of meat. It should have been more than just tiny little tips cut off of the good stuff. That and The fish tasted a tiny bit sour, it should not taste that way. While this is all one person's opinion, I eat high-quality sushi very frequently. I am a sushi snob -there is no doubt, but I know fresh fish when I taste it and I did not feel that the hand rolls were very good. I ended up paying $30 for a small cooked piece of fish, on a bed of cheap iceberg salad mix that I didn't even eat, two fresh fish hand rolls and nothing else. I don't know how college students can afford to eat here, is it because it's Rocklin? I will absolutely never go back again, I don't care how hungry I am. Blue Nami in Roseville is much better in my opinion, and a lot cheaper with those 50% off rolls.

Colton R.

Yelp
Best sushi for the price! Don't go in late but if you get there with 2 hours before closing you got plenty of time to get hella rolls and beers.

Yelp
Random stop after the women's basketball game at Sierra College. I was skeptical at first but I'm pretty damn impressed. Best sushi I've had in a while and the fiancé agrees. Fish quality was great and the employees were extremely friendly. We had the ichiban roll, m&j, super rainbow and the small sashimi platter (subbed for all salmon). They were all great, I'd recommended the super rainbow for all you raw sushi lovers. It was refreshing. I will definitely come back when I'm in the area. Thumbs up guys!!
