Google
What a wonderful small business Japanese Restaurant in El Cerrito off of I-80. Discovered this place by chance by exploring the internet for "Restaurants near me" This place has been here under two owners for 20+ years. Our server Tina said she's worked for this restaurant for 21 years! The food is fresh and very good. The website has professional food stylist photos featured. When your dish/sushi arrives it looks spot on like the website and menu photos! That's pretty impressive. It's a quite and relaxing atmosphere with a diverse clientele. Great for small groups. It's not a huge restaurant being located in a small strip mall. It's clean with no clutter or supplies in sight. Not even in the restrooms. Which is common for most small space establishments. There was a high amount of pick up orders but the dinning room was busy for having only one server on staff for a Friday night. It was also interesting to watch on the TV monitors different chefs in Japan preparing traditional dishes. Please give this place a try if you haven't already. We highly recommend it!

The guys were very friendly and the food was prepared very quickly. They took care of us very quickly. I recommend this place if you are looking for affordable, traditional, simple and delicious ramen or sushi. The owner said that poke bowls will be introduced soon, looking forward to it! Thanks again to Tokyo Style Sushi, we will definitely come back as always!

Dropped in to the area for some old neighborhood exploring, and found that this location had new ownership. Got the Pacific Roll To-Go. Fresh Hamachi & Scallops with house Unagi Sauce. An unexpected ingredient, macadamia nuts didn't quite compliment the sweet creamy flavors of the seafood. If I were allergic, it would be more of a concern. They gave good quality chop sticks, though! *I went back and checked the description of the roll on the menu and the nuts weren't mentioned * Real good quality sushi roll, though! It looks like their ramen is a specialty, the way they advertise it inside the restaurant. Can't wait to come back!

Friendly service. Fresh sashimi. Chef Jason made beautiful sushi rolls and uni quail egg special. Miso soup was steamy hot. Lobster roll with mango and crab meat in soy paper wrap was refreshing. My favorite was the slightly torched butterfish walu. Great texture and delicious taste. Spider roll was also very tasty. Would come back to try their ramen next time. Update 3/15/25: Tonkatsu ramen was excellent. I drank all the soup till the last drop. Chef Jason told me that they made their broth from 8 hour slow cooked chicken and pork ribs. No wonder is was tasty but not salty. Highly recommend it! Especially a cold rainy day. The soft boil egg was also very tender. Updated 3/23/15: New owner Calvin and Katie were friendly and happy to create more items on the menu. Chicken Kara-age was one of the most authentic ones I’ve tasted in the Bay Area. Juicy and tender inside and crispy outside lightly breaded. Reminded me of izakaya in Tokyo. Chef Jason did it again with incredible sashimi plating fresh walu butter fish, white tuna, salmon, hamachi etc.

The char on the Spicy scallop roll made it as memorable as many international dishes I've had. The service was friendly and I will return to try more rolls and the Katsu.

Google
A satisfying lunch! The kids loved it, and there was also soda that the kids loved to drink. The salmon and eel were very fresh, and each roll was very big. I liked the fried shrimp sushi the most, it was freshly made, and the fried shrimp was very crispy! I will try it again

Katana-ya ramen, an old institution in El Cerrito, has retired, and a new Japanese restaurant has taken its place. I met the owner awhile back at my work when he called asking about how to get rid of or recycle stuff, and we got into talking, and I found out he was taking over Katana-ya. He said to wait a couple of months before visiting since he was sourcing in better ingredients. Little did I know that he would retire the name Katana-ya and rename the restaurant Tokyo Feng ramen and sushi. After several months, my family and i decided to go out and eat and wanted to try the new katana-ya. But surprise surprise.. gone.. oh well. Try Tokyo feng. We came in an hour before close so it wasn't busy at all. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. We ordered the black garlic ramen with egg, Tonkatsu ramen, beef curry, spicy tuna roll, and sushi dinner set c. Both ramen and sushis came out promptly after maybe 10-15 minutes. The curry came out maybe closer to 10 minutes later. They must have had to cook it fresh or something. The tonkatsu ramen soup was savory and creamy with a good amount of noodles and ingredients/toppings. The black garlic ramen was equally delicious but with a more earthy garlic taste. The char-siu roasted pork was in the thin side and a bit dry but was still good. There was a good amount of whole fried garlic in the soup, which was nice. The sushi set C dinner had large portions of sashimi and 6 pieces of California roll. The roll was good and fresh. Typical California roll fake crab and mayonnaise combo. It also came with salad and miso soup. The salad and Miso soup were just ok. The beef curry was really fresh and delicious with tender slices of beef with a bit of fat attached. The curry was a light reddish color, almost like tomato based but with curry seadoning added. There were large chunks of veggies in it too. The curry came with a small bowl of rice to go along with it. The spicy tuna roll was fresh and delicious. It wasn't spicy at all for me but I can take a lot of heat. Sushi rice was fresh but needed a bit more vinegar seasoning. Overall, it was a good first impression. The food was delicious, staff friendly, and attentive. Would come again.

Yelp
Our solid go-to neighnorhood sushi spot, in location of former Katana Ya which we enjoyed for over 20 years. Great value. Sushi Set A, B, or C is my usual lunch which comes with both a small salad and miso soup.

Yelp
Formerly known as Katana-ya, they have an extensive menu and continue to serve some solid Japanese meals in a homey setting. Service and prices are also pretty standard. I've been here a few times with family and have gotten some rolls and bento boxes, which were pretty sizable. Recommend the bento box specials with chicken teriyaki/shrimp tempura, the dragon/titanic rolls and the sashimi, which had huge pieces!

Yelp
Tokyo Feng Ramen took over the location of Katana-Ya, a venerable establishment serving unique Japanese lunch sets. We received an advertising menu in the mail and decided to check it out. Parking is easy as it is in a strip mall lot. The interior has undergone a slight revamp. The menu was not as extensive as Katana-Ya, but still very comprehensive. We tried the Ika Yaki (grilled whole squid) as the appetizer, and the black garlic ramen, tonkutsu ramen, shoyu ramen, and sukiyaki were our main. The Ika Yaki was great. The squid was fresh and had a nice smoky grilled taste. It was awesome with the teriyaki sauce and was finished in no time. The ramens were OK but the broth was not made from scratch like in the Japanese specialty ramen houses, but were from stock concentrate typical of fast food style ramen places. The sukiyaki was on point, however. The pork was tender and the vegetables firm. The clear noodles soaked up the broth and had great taste. Additional bowl of rice was provided, as well as a side of salad and miso soup. The prices were reasonable for the quantity and quality of food. We will come back to try their sushis.

Yelp
Standard strip mall sushi joint. Surprisingly busy when I came for dinner. Service was quick and polite. I ordered a salmon poke bowl which tasted good. The fish seemed fine - probably not the freshest and highest in quality, but seemed safe enough. The foodservice employees weren't wearing head coverings. The prices are reasonable for the area. Overall my experience is what I would expect out of a sushi place like this, and I personally wouldn't mind coming back.

Yelp
Vegetable ramen, no pork broth. It looks like only menu item, available to vegan or vegetarian. Medium spice gave the broth a good kick. Small market of vegetable and tofu. Not a lot of options for vegan diet but other diner like his salmon dish. Friendly and efficient service. Stars rating applicable only if vegan.

Yelp
Ed U has more of a sweet tooth than I do so I have learned not to be infected by his enthusiasm for donuts and other sweets. but when it comes to savory stuff I would follow him almost anywhere. When he gave the chicken or pork katsu curry served here high marks I was immediately intrigued. I'm on my own for lunch today, as Nina is returning today from the East Coast today. I parked in the lot in front along w/ 2 other Mazda CX-5s (it looked like a Mazda dealership!) and walked over to the restaurant, where I was greeted by the hostess, "Long time no see!" and seated at a table near the window. where Nina and I have sat I told her I wanted the pork katsu curry. She brought me a bowl of soup and one of salad. After a reasonable wait the katsu curry came our hot, crisp and fresh w/ a bowl of white rice, the curry adorned w/ a large, perfectly cooked stalk of broccoli and what I thought at first were carrots but which were sweet potatoes. Everything was delicious. The curry was more subtle than that served at Dela Curo Curry at Berkeley Bowl West, which is a matter of preference. I should ask Ed which is more authentic. Either way, it won't replace the ramen served here in my affections.

Yelp
Ah yes, this was the decidedly middling Katana-Ya, wasn't it? I remember if I was in the mood for chicken teriyaki or salmon shioyaki, I knew this was the place to get a generic, inoffensive rendition. Katana-Ya didn't make standout Japanese fare but frankly it did the job. I believe its replacement offers an almost identical menu. Regardless it was a marked improvement from what we had before. I decided to make a rather robust dinner takeout order for Jamie W and me. I ordered four items for the two of us, and as usual, overdid it. For Jamie, I got him the $13.99 Curry Chicken Katsu, which came with the requisite rice and mini-salad (Photo 7). It was a huge amount of deep-fried panko-encrusted poultry that came with the curry and miso soup on the side (Photos 6 & 10). It was good, not overcooked, and certainly a generous portion for a single meal. But no more generous than my order, the $13.99 Curry Pork Katsu with slices of fairly tender pork. It was also covered in panko and deep-fried and accompanied by curry sauce, rice, salad, and miso soup (Photo 9). The pork was quite good in a homestyle manner. I also ordered the $9.95 Chicken Kara-Age as if we didn't have enough fried food, and I have to admit it was a bit chewy and on the heavy side (Photo 8). The $11.50 Vegetable Tempura completed our deep fryer lollapalooza in a box of mixed vegetables waiting to be dipped in soy sauce (Photo 5). It was what we wanted though I'd like to see what their other Japanese staples are like. I'lll try the donburi and sushi the next time I have a hankering for homeland-adjacent comfort food. FOOD - 4 stars...girthy portions of deep-fried goodness AMBIANCE - 3 stars...looks pretty much the same SERVICE - 4 stars...they served me tea at the empty sushi bar while I waited TOTAL - 4 stars...definitely good enough to return RELATED - Exploring El Cerrito? Yelp
Came to try the vegetarian ramen. It was shoyu based, and not a pork broth. Taste was ok, noodles were standard pre-packaged. All toppings were warmed prior to adding to the ramen. Overall: ok. Would probably try the sushi next time.

Yelp
I didn't realize this spot was under new ownership, now called Tokyo Feng Ramen & Sushi. Such a fun evening and great staff! We actually were on a walk and wanted to stop somewhere for a snack because we had the stroller and baby, but because of their amazing customer service, we sat at a table with enough room for our party of 3 and had a full meal with drinks. The menu looks refreshed and full of fun and different appetite directions you can go on ~ my husband the curry chicken katsu and myself, the fastive shrimp roll (a shrimp tempura roll topped with cooked shrimp and avocado with a few special sauces)..both equally delicious and full of pow! Would love to return and try their donburi, black garlic ramen, and cheese tonkatsu. Also, with so many specialty roll choices, going back with a larger group to try more sushi would be fun! Parking is convenient and price point feels right. Nothing like washing it all down with awesome Japanese beers. Looking forward to getting cozy again here soon!

Yelp
I don't know how this place has 4.1 stars as of this review. I tried this place last year right when they were transitioning it from Katana Ya to what it is today...just before they changed the name. The sushi was not fresh and was dry and tasteless like it had been in the freezer for too long. And the pieces of fish on the nigiri rice were pretty small. I tried to give this place a chance again recently hoping that they had gotten their act together, but nope... I didn't even get to sit down and order. I walked in and stood there for 5 minutes, and no one came out to seat me or even check on the tables that were there. They were NOT busy. There were three tables there and one table had just one guy who was about to leave. After 5 minutes with no one coming out to greet or seat me, I decided to leave. Especially after having a chance to look inside the sushi frig at the counter and seeing that they barely had any fish in it and what was there looked like it had been sitting there for a while. No thanks. Some might say that 5 minutes isn't a long time to wait, but I challenge you to stand in one place for 5 minutes without engaging anyone and see how long that feels to you. And remember, this place was NOT busy...there were three tables. There was no wait staff in front the entire time, and no sushi chef behind the counter for some reason. I could see several people running around the kitchen and hear them arguing with each other about something. There are a lot of similar types of Japanese/sushi restaurants nearby, I'll spend my money at one that has their act together and actually has customer service. I really hope the people at this restaurant read this review and straighten out their issues, or they're not going to last much longer.

Yelp
We were surprised that Katana-Ya, our longtime favorite lunchtime Japanese restaurant, had closed and is now Tokyo Feng. Congrats on retirement. Except for the new sign, things look pretty similar down to the tables and tableware. Casual ambiance is the same. Actually the menu items are pretty much the same as well, but in a new format and of course a bit of a price increase. Dad ordered his usual Beef Udon while I tried a Bento Box Lunch with Tonkatsu (deep fried pork cutlet) and Shrimp/Mixed Vegetable Tempura. Miso soup and salad were the same as before, and good. Dad said his Udon noodles were "ok" and later upgraded to "pretty good." I enjoyed my Bento Box but erred with ordering 2 types of fried food. Too much, and should've had something grilled or sushi. The tempura was light and crunchy, perfectly done. The Tonkatsu was a fried a bit too long but was still ok. This is when I thought, hmm, maybe the chef is different. We didn't try any sushi. Maybe next time because our lunch was already quite filling. Service was fine and our tea cups never empty. With a bit of luck, Tokyo Feng might grab the same crowd of regulars that Katana-Ya had over the decades.

Yelp
Stumbled on this spot around 2:30pm on a weekday afternoon because most sushi spots in the area are closed between lunch and dinner. I recall eating at this spot before the new management took over (about 9 months ago), and it wasn't anything to write home about. But my boyfriend and I were impressed by Tokyo Feng Ramen & Sushi! Service was very courteous and accommodating. Prices are ehhhh pretty standard compared to every other sushi spot in the bay. Menu is extensive as far as Japanese food (sushi, ramen, curry, donburi, etc.), but special sushi rolls were limited - only about 10 rolls to choose from. There was a "Specials" board which we ordered something from. However, it was a whopping $23 for 5 pieces - yikes. Everything we ate, though, was delicious. We ordered Hot Night roll, Tokyo roll, Diamond roll (specials), Hamachi Sashimi (5 pcs), and Shrimp tempura appetizer. Shrimp tempura appetizer was excellent. Although three pieces, they were SUPER crunchy and we even got a surprise broccoli lol. Hamachi sashimi was good, although we were trying to get their hamachi toro on their specials board, but I guess they only had tuna. Diamond roll was gorgeous. BUT we paid for a pretty plate. Was it worth $23 for 5 pieces of cucumber wrapped sushi? No.. but flavor was good and it was very presentable - just not worth $23. Tokyo roll and Hot night were solid rolls. They claim to serve "real crab" but I honestly can't tell the difference. Shame on me, but if they do, it explains the higher prices I guess? Anyway, I'll definitely be back to try other menu items. P.S - I love their sushi serving plate. Comes with the soy saucer within the plate and it's CLUTCH!

Yelp
The food and service was great! I love sushi and unfortunately do not eat it as often as I would like. So on this trip to the Bay I definitely wanted to stop somewhere to get sushi. This place was close to our hotel and it was well worth it. We even had enough left over to safe for the next day.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here for dinner last night and had a pretty tasty experience! We were craving Japanese and saw this new place had opened, so we thought we'd check it out. Overall, we could definitely tell they were new and eager, but we hope to try it again soon after they get more settled in! Food: Everything we ordered came out fresh and tasty. We accidentally made the mistake of ordering too many cooked rolls, but I will say, overall I think they could go with deep frying their rolls for less time. We've had our fair share of fried rolls and usually the fish is still a little raw in the center, but not as much here. We tried the Godzilla roll, Mount Fuji roll, spider roll, mango salmon salad, and the tempura appetizer. - mango salmon salad: 5/5 surprisingly refreshing and delicious! who knew kewpie mayo, mango, and salmon would be great mix! - Godzilla roll: 4.5/5 loved the crispy rice on this! the flavor mix was delicious and would easily get again. Wish the spicy tuna was a little more raw, but not a deal breaker - mixed tempura: 5/5 great mix of veggies and shrimp, and pretty big serving for the price you pay too! perfectly fried and came out steaming hot - spider roll: 3.5/5 the soft shell crab is sooooo good. But because they're very generous with a big crab, it made the roll impossibly wide to eat. So we had to bite it in multiple bites, which made it come apart... We'll probably order the soft shell crab as an appetizer next time instead of the roll - Mount Fuji roll: 2.5/5 this one was a miss for us. It wasn't bad but it wasn't what we were expecting so that was a bit on us. The hamachi was cooked through (we thought just the outside part of the roll would be deep fried) so if you like a cooked fish roll, try this out. I personally feel like hamachi/yellowtail is best enjoyed raw, as it becomes too pulpy/dry when cooked and not flakey like other fish. Also one critique is the design was beautiful but the tobiko on the onion is too heavy so everything immediately fell as it was set on the table. Maybe tobiko first and then green onion on top next time? Service: They were very eager and attentive, maybe a little too eager (they asked us 4 times if we were ready to order and were very polite each time, but it made me a little nervous haha) but it's definitely because they're new and I know they were just trying to make sure we had everything we needed. Overall: We enjoyed our meal and were surprised by the overall value as well. We ended up coming home with a little bit of leftovers as well, which we were surprised by. We love a place that has fresh fish and is good bang for your buck. We'll be back so we can try some of their sashimi plates next time!

Yelp
I've come here a couple times with family to try this place out! I checked review before hand and knew this place has a new owner and found him super nice as he often came around to ask guest how the food was. The waiters here were also super friendly and would always come ask how the food was! I think the biggest thing is that this place offers good sushi for a good price. I think this restaurant offers such a casual comforting ambiance that is soo good to bring both friends and family! Overall I would highly recommend giving it a try :)

Yelp
Really nice laid back lunch. Service was good food was nice. We shared seafood ramen which was very good-fresh ramen some fish and shrimps and small scallops. Chefs Nigiri sampler was good and fresh tasting. Miso soup thin broth but super tasty. We will return and try dinner.

Yelp
Second time here so we tried the OMG roll that wasn't on their regular menu but was delicious! We also tried their sake ikura Don which has thick pieces of salmon, well marinated ikura, and perfectly seasoned rice. There was plenty of rice so we ordered a few pieces of hamachi and toro to gobble it all up with. Service can be improved upon, maybe our server was new and needed more training and confidence. Definitely a great spot for thick and fresh sashimi!

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised. We all ordered ramen and udon so I can't speak to the sushi or other items yet. The udon and ramen was yummy, right ratio of veggies in it and you could choose your spice level. I ordered ramen but subbed out the noodles for udon. The ramen broth was super yummy. They had a pretty large menu so I'll be back to try the sushi.

Yelp
Gloves don't mean hygiene -- they just protect the server's hands. In fact, gloves make them bolder -- touching menus, phones, trash, then your cup. No washing, no changing -- just dirty gloves pretending to be clean. Real hygiene = clean hands, not cosplay cleanliness.

Yelp
I love the Salmon sashimi. They are so fresh and extremely delicious. The rolls are very good as well. It is a very pleasant dining experience I have in there. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family.

Yelp
I'm becoming more of a fan of sushi. I had a spider roll that had soft shell crab, cucumber, gobo, daikon sprouts, avocado, tobiko and unagi sauce. I also had the mango crunch: Salmon, Avocado, Macadamia Nuts Top With Spicy Tuna, Mango, Crunchy, Unagi Sauce. Both tasted fine and presentation was nice. Service was on and off. They seemed to have adequate staff though. The interior was alright. I've been here at least three times and plan on returning.

Maria R.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Good menu selections. Definitely a place to come back to.

Yelp
This place has gone downhill since it was katana ya ramen. I just ordered a veggie tempura roll that came straight from the kitchen cold and gummy. And the restaurant is severely understaffed. One server for so many tables just makes me feel captive. Overall disappointing. Won't be back. Super sick of sucky places

Melissa P.

Yelp
We went there today for one of my sister's birthday. The place looks pretty clean in the inside. The staff was nice and sat us down pretty quickly. They did take awhile to take our orders even though the place wasn't that busy. So when they took our orders it didn't take too long before they brought out the food (we all ordered bento boxes except for the birthday girl). The presentation looked nice but my mom was the first to notice that her meat wasn't very hot just barely warm. So I tried my food and the same for me as well as my other sister, our steak was also lukewarm. I think out of everything the rice was the only thing steaming and maybe our tempura. It didn't seem like anything was hot as if it was just prepared. The rest of the food tasted good especially the California rolls and my lion king rolls. We had to flag them down and tell one of the waitresses that we haven't received our miso soup, salad, and drinks after we had our food for awhile so she had said "she had forgot" and eventually brought out the rest of our stuff. The miso soup was hot probably because they forgot to bring it first. They did bring out some ice cream for my sister and the rest of us since it was one of my sister's birthday. Overall experience was not great and could've been better. Not sure I'll return again.

Yelp
First time trying this place. I decided to stop by on my lunch, and it did not disappoint. Great customer service, loved the ambiance of the restaurant and not to mention the food was delicious. I got the two items bento box with Salmon Teriyaki and Tempura Vegetables.

Yelp
The vegetable ramen was not very interesting, didn't have much flavor or depth. Service was alright.

Yelp
Good restaurant, recommended by my friend, really good sashimi and fresh oysters, food also delicious, will come again.

Yelp
Ordered Large Party Platter. It included 2 trays with rolls, large salad box, utensils and soy sauce packets. Rolls were freshly made and had so many varieties! Some very spicy. I placed the order the evening before for 1130am pick up. Definitely coming back. Great value and quality for the price.

Yelp
My family's favorite restaurant, their products are excellent, the fish is very fresh, the dishes are rich and varied. The waiters are very friendly and pay attention to customer feedback. The best Japanese restaurant in el cerrito! I recommend it!

Jasmin V.

Yelp
Service was okay 7/10 Everybody got water and tea, we only got water. Food: Seafood Ramen 3/10 Tonkatsu Ramen 4/10 Tuna tartar 7/10 Crunchy roll 7/10 Seafood ramen had 3 shrimp The bamboo shoots in the soup tasted bad we had to taken them out.

Yelp
The food here was amazing! Probably the best Ramen I've had...I ordered the short rib Ramen ambience was meh- located in a strip mall but clean. Service was good

Huiyi L.

Yelp
Good food !good service , it was first time that I try sushi, and it was stand out to me ! The sashimi was fresh and it was more than I thought.

Stephanie A.

Yelp
Ordered chicken ramen to go.. the portion size was decent, they added utensils and sauces. The food quality was good and I would recommend to anyone who wants a nice savory ramen. I would have to try to this place again but dine-in for a different experience. Good to know this is close by and offers to dine-in and for pick up. But overall the soup was delicious!
google avatar

Alyssa C.

Yelp
The black garlic ramen is tasty and really good. The chicken katsu curry sauce is perfect. The staff are friendly. Would come back again! Proce is reasonable.
google avatar

Hadley K.

Yelp
After one bite of the pork katsu I just could not continue. The quality of the meat was low and it felt like the thick layers of panko just tried to cover it up. The sauce that came with it was thick and more reminiscent of sweet and sour sauce. This definitely was the furthest from a Japanese meal as it could be. I managed to eat the rice and miso soup though, which are difficult to mess up thankfully.

Yelp
Rare find good quality Japanese food at this location! Sashimi is very fresh, ramen soup tastes so good. Staff is friendly, highly recommended.

Yelp
Had dinner here with the family. Used to be Katanya's Restaurant. I must say the food was pretty good, reasonably priced. Servers were pleasant and attentive.

Yelp
The dragon and Tokyo rolls were delicious, ( they took a lil long to bring my food but it was worth the wait )

Yelp
Food was absolutely amazing! Presentation and service was incredible and the servers went above and beyond to ensure me and my family had a great experience. Definitely will be coming back soon and making this a regular spot of mine. Not to mention the beautiful ambiance within the restaurant!

Yelp
This place is pretty new and they've revamped the old menu from Katana-Ya while still keeping on to some parts of the previous menu. When I went, I had the mango salmon salad, a sashimi set, beef ramen, and the Lion King roll. Their sushi was fresh and they give really good portions and filling (many others also had to ask for a takeout box). Their service is good and the ambience is calm. I would certainly go back again and try out the rest of the menu!

Yelp
Service was good. I had a bento box with Sashimi and Tonkatsu. Tonkatsu was a little fatty but well cooked. Sashimi had a chewy slice of salmon. Other two pieces were perfect. My partner had chicken Ramen which he really liked. Large serving with grilled chicken. Low key environment.

Yelp
To be Honest, i like the food a little bit, but the waiters are shameless, i pay for my sister and i, then the waiter gave himself a tip, i did not decide to gave him a tips, because he was very rude and impatient, he gave us our receipt before finishing eating, this is the second time and we will never come back again.

Yelp
Food was ok. I had mixed tempura and the sweet potato was not peeled and the skin was very tough and unpleasant. The servers did not seem like they wanted to be there. I had to ask for most things including dishes for soy sauce and plates for appetizers and even a spoon for sukiyaki. When they brought it they didn't pass them out....just dropped a stack at the head of the table. Our table was only 8. There are much better places to eat at.

Yelp
Took a chance with a couple of the ramen reviews and ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen. Asked for spicy and was pleasantly surprised. The pork belly had a nice char to it which enhanced the delicate broth. Egg, enoki, noodles all delicious. I've had ramen at Japan's Tokyo Street subway which houses several of the city's best ramen shops. This was pretty good, so I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Make sure your waiters know how to waiter before you hire them, food was mediocre not worth the price and not worth the rude service (had to get up and ask twice for some water)
