Best Restaurants in Arlington | Eater Dallas

"Pop by for all-you-can-eat sushi and Japanese food at this Arlington spot — or order a la carte if going all in isn’t the vibe. Rolls, nigiri, sashimi, ceviche, bao buns, fried rice, ramen — the gang’s all here. Try the Ranger roll (deep-fried smoked salmon, pickled jalapeño, and cream cheese topped with house sauce) and the papaya salad served atop tomatoes with fish sauce, red chili, and fried soybeans. The aesthetic is bare bones seafood spot meets Asian-influence. Fake cherry blossoms hang from the ceiling, dark wood contemporary furniture makes up the dining room, and attractive but minimalist murals dot the walls." - Courtney E. Smith

Had lunch here, it wasn't too busy as more than half the restaurant was empty. Four to five were at the hostess stand, they confused as how to seat an odd number of people. Not where, based on waiter/waitress availability but one of the girls asked the guy at the bar & he told her where to seat us but that as just needed the five place settings/menus for our party of five. Food was okay. I totally understand the small plates, for an AYCE it prevents the waste of food for those who may be over indulgent or leave half eaten dishes due to not liking but wiling to try. - Buns were good, but they were out of the pork belly one. - Ramen was bland, the egg was overcooked. - Calamari, was good but some calamari plates were more salty than others. A nice serving size without skimping on calamari. - Potato croquette, nice crunch! - Various sushi, it was fine. - Fried rice was good, they were accommodating in making one with no vegetables for our picky eater. - Chicken karage... slightly overcooked. Our waitress seemed to be the only one on our side of the restaurant, she had about four or five tables maybe, other staff members did help being out the food. That being said I had to ask for a water refill three times, only got a refill once. I don't believe it's her fault, she just needed more help. Dishes come out hot, fresh, & fast. I do appreciate that the oil isn't dirty/overused for fried items. They were a light golden brown with a nice crunch & the batter stays on. Still needs improvement for staff support & training but I do want to say that everyone was extremely pleasant. The interior is beautiful inside & the price is fair. We may come back in a few months to try again.

This is an all-you-can-eat place. We were told that we can order anything from both sides of the menu, but they come in smaller portions. Our waitress brings everything to our table after we order it. She was great at explaining the process. I ordered Miso Soup, Fish Salad, Shrimp Spring Roll, Japanese Croquette, and several rolls like Salmon Skin Roll, Alaskan Roll, Tokyo Mizu Roll, Volcano Roll, and others. Overall, I really enjoyed everything. It's nice to try so much for $19.99. The only issue I had was that the Spring Roll skin was so sticky and it was hard to eat it because it was tearing apart due to sticking to the other half.

Fresh and delicious handrolled sushi. We samples almost everything from the menu. They have a variety of traditional Japanese appetizers like takoyaki (fried octopus balls) and bao buns (white fluffy dumpling bread topped with beef and cilantro - my husband joked that it was a Japanese taco).. They also have some items that reflect their Texas location. They have fried stuffed jalapenos. The tempora calimari was large and fresh. We had so many different types of sushi rolls that I can't even name them all. Everything was good. I remember the Volcano rolls were tasty, but messy. I was eating so fast, I didn't get any pictures. My 11 yr old son at a dozen eel sashimi on his own. It was his favorite thing in the menu. My husband and I killed two bowls of sashimi. I enjoyed it all, but the smoked salmon was particularly tasty. The sashimi is served on a bed of ice with a fresh lemon wedges. The wait staff was amazing. We sent in order after order after order and he was prompt and friendly throughout it all. He kept my water full and I was thirsty after a long day walking around the nearby amusement park. My husband ended the meal with the creme brulee. They have tiramisu, ice cream, and a few other dessert options. If you have a friend that you would like to turn on to Japanese-American cuisine, this would be the place to go. The all-you-can-eat option allows for exploration. This setup allows for ordering small quantities of a menu item to decrease waste and get a taste of everything that would be too cost prohibitive if buying a la carte. We loved it. We left full. It was a good experience. Perfect for my family.

Had my first experience at Tokyo Mizu and I’m already planning my next visit! From the moment we walked in, our waitress Burlyn made us feel so welcome, I so appreciated it! If every restaurant had a “Burlyn” dining out would be a dream. She was warm, attentive, and just an absolute pleasure to be around. The sushi? Delicious. For just $19.99, the all-you-can-eat deal is a total steal. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. My personal favorites were the Salmon Lover, Hasu, and the Crawfish Dynamite each roll packed with flavor and overall delicious! I also tried the Butterfly Infusion Tea with mango and strawberry. It was sweet, refreshing, and super addicting (though fair warning, it might be a tad sweet for some, but it hit the spot for me). All in all, Tokyo Mizu just made it onto my list of go-to sushi spots. Great food, amazing service, and unbeatable value!

Google
Very cute place, and it's a good price for AYCE. Some of the best crab ragoons I ever had. Dumplings were pretty good (the potstickers seemed to have muted flavors). The cooked sushi was amazing! And the soba noodles were pretty good too. The ramen should be absolutely avoided. No flavor, overcooked noodles, overcooked eggs. Dessert was really good! My husband had the veggies from the spring roll and the ramen removed. His personal preference. Will 100% be back!

Google
Amazing food all around. The service was excellent. This is an all you can eat Japanese restaurant, most of the menu is sushi but there are several other choices including fried rice, ramen and soba. If I could’ve had one of everything on the menu I would have. This is definitely a place we will be returning to!

Google
First time coming here and it did not disappoint. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive and our waiter, Su, was extremely knowledgeable on all the menu items. Everything he recommended was delicious. Will definitely add this to our list of regular restaurants in Arlington!!

Google
Probably the best sushi place I have been to in quite some time. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi or food in general as they have an all you can eat option so you can try many delicious items for one great price. I added this place to my favorites list while I was being served. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Bruce P.

Yelp
All you can eat Japanese with great quality food. The portions are smaller, but this was a plus because I it allowed me to have a large variety of dishes. The staff is very friendly and service spot on. Great decor with a running water falls inside. Kevin and his staff made me feel like a regular. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful experience! The food was great, every single bite was a wonderful experience! The rundown: As it's an all-you-can-eat, once you sit down you can place an order for up to five things, which, after you've finished, you can get another (up to) five things, and so on until you've stuffed yourself! Everything I ordered was phenomenal, and I felt like every bite just made me hungrier for the next! I finished with the creme brulee they offer, and it was one of the best I've had, if a little small! Recommend: the Takoyaki, Yuzu Salmon, inari, and bao buns! Last note, and also a warning, there is a $5 charge for any unfinished plate(Not counting sauce or broth), so make sure your eyes aren't bigger than your stomach! Overall, 10/10 experience, I would love to go back again, and I can definitely say I will!!!

Yelp
A lot of improvement is needed here... The experience was truly unremarkable. Went here for dinner since we were in the area but as an AYCE sushi, this place falls short. They have a great selection on the menu, but the ordering and portions are insanely limited compared to any other AYCE place. The half rolls/portions are a decent idea to allow you to try more, but it should be an option rather than mandatory because waiting for 15 min for your food to come out only to have it be 4 pieces of a size of a kids roll is not satisfying. The rolls & sashimi cuts are all very small and about half the size and thickness of other places.. super disappointing. Even if it is AYCE and you can just order more, it should still be a proper cut. The nigiri is even worse, the fish to rice ratio was 90% fish and 10% rice, with the rice being over vinegar-ed. A lot of the appetizers are buried within lettuce and just so, so tiny. It is truly like a bite of food for each item when you order. It is hard to leave an AYCE hungry, but regrettably that is what happened. For this price and quality, you are able to get your money's well worth at many other places. The baos & dumplings were probably the best thing we ordered. The service was friendly and the interior was cute and ambient so that was a plus. However, I cannot say I would return here.

Yelp
Been here twice since they opened and their soft opening. Overall, great atmosphere, good friendly service, food selections is varied and tasty. Although my one thing I would be critical about is the servings are small. You do get to choose 5 items each round but with the small servings, we had quite a bit of pauses in between finishing our servings and waiting to get another round in. My family and friends are big eaters and we mean business when hitting the AYCE spots. We really felt like we were piling more dishes and servers having to scramble and make multiple trips unnecessarily. If the servings were a little bit more hearty, it slow down the frequency of ordering the same dish just to satisfy one's pallet to a particular dish. Other than that, I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Yelp
By far this is the worst sushi place I been to in dfw. We were just trying it out since it was on the way from our last destination. For lunch u get ayce 19.99 No sashimi and you can select up to 10 items at a time. If you're a big sushi person this place isn't the place to go. They give u half options of sushi rolls. If you're with someone else order double so you can get your full roll. It also feels like a lot of them were just fusion sushi rolls you never had like random. As far as nigiri it's so warm. Not what you expected. I'm normally a sashimi person but the guy didn't tell us you won't be able to order it till dinner we left after second round of food. Too much rice dishes and random dishes. But if you're just wanting a fix for sushi and you like the rolls this is for you. The waiter was new so I don't blame him he just took forever to get back you get full pretty fast. The place looked nice.

Yelp
Found this on Yelp! Very nice as in the venue and I the dishes etc. We did the all you can eat. Highly recommend. The 4 of us enjoyed our experience. We will definitely come back. Small portions but you can taste many different dishes which is great. Our server, she is awesome! Efficient with nice personality. Please tip well or don't dine at places like this.

Yelp
Had the opportunity to check out this wonderful concept of an AYCE made to order sushi bar. When we entered, we were immediately felt welcome and invited by the host and hostess. The $30 per person dinner option is excellent in terms of the variety of options that we could possibly order. The only thing you have to pay extra for is for the beverages. The ambiance was very well captured to define what Tokyo dining is. The look was very clean and I felt like I was in a traditional setting. I was quickly brought back and reminded I was in America with the American pop music playing throughout the restaurant. Our waitress was very sweet however she wasn't very well versed in the menu because we would ask her what to recommend if we liked certain things and she couldn't give an answer. However she was very nice and attentive. Unfortunately a lot of the sashimi wasn't available for us to order like the red snapper or scallop but the others were presented nicely on a bowl of ice and tasted very fresh. The hot appetizers were very delicious and I was thankful for the smaller portion size so we wouldn't be overstuffed before getting any of the main entrees. The highlights were the xiao long bao soup dumplings and the beef bulgogi bao bun. I wouldn't recommend the crispy calamari because it was very batter heavy with minimal squid. The cold appetizers were very good. I enjoyed the fish salad as well as the Hamachi jalapeno and the black pepper tuna Tataki. The restaurant wasn't very crowded (maybe a little less than half) but the sushi kitchen was very backed up. It look an extremely long time for us to get our sushi rolls but the hot and cold appetizers came out fairly quick. I'd imagine in a packed house that there may be some disgruntled diners waiting hangrily for their sushi to come out. Overall the flavors are fantastic for the price point. The only thing that prevents me from giving this a perfect five stars is the long wait times for the sushi. I'd definitely recommend this place and return to dine again.

Yelp
We decided to come back and try their dinner menu since we already tried the lunch AYCE. We tried to order only the items that were featured on the dinner menu and not the lunch menu. For the price difference, I don't think it's worth it. That being said, our sushi was still really good! Service was a bit slow, the kitchen was backed up, but our waitress was friendly and checked on our orders a lot.

Yelp
We came here for lunch. It was pretty much empty besides 6 workers and about 6/10 other diners. The pros: Soup dumplings. Gyoza. Takayaki. Super nice server! Clean and new restaurant. Cons: all the sushi rolls seemed like California rolls with different toppings. I did not care for the snowflake roll. I would skip that one. The service was painfully slow despite being dead. The soup dumplings and the gyoza took forever to come out, I was told that was because they were being steamed. I appreciate the freshness but when the items came out they were so small and served only in trios, that it confused me as to why it took so long. The nigiri came out just slightly chilled room temperature. As did any fished based roll that wasn't fried / cooked Not bad for the price.

Yelp
First time here on 10/23/24. The inside is beautiful and everyone was so kind. Such a great concept to an all-u-can-eat restaurant. You get to start with any 5 items on the menu.(note: some are smaller portions) so if you are someone like me that is new to sushi, but has been dying to try it with out the large price tag. This is the place to go. They do have more than just sushi!! I had the Ahi Tower, Xiao Long Bao, Chicken Katsu, Chashu Bao Buns, Crazy Boy roll and a Mango Yakult Fizz and everything was amazing. Very fresh and flavorful, I absolutely Love the Xiao bao!! Jesus was my server and was an absolute delight!! They were very happy to explain things to me and you can tell they were proud of the product. Ty Jesus!!

Yelp
Food is good. The ambiance is relaxed and fun! Fun date night. Service is good, if busy can be a bit slow but not bad. Definitely a fun place to go! Give it a try!

Mrs. Romero ..

Yelp
The sushi place is delicious full of yummy different options and it's all you can eat. Winter for my birthday and everybody was super nice and everything we had was so yummy.

Jamye J.

Yelp
This place is a North Arlington jewel. Since coming during their soft launch, the restaurant had quickly become a weekly staple for me and my husband. Everything on the menu tastes great from the raw to cooked rolls, and entrees to appetizers. They provide unmatched service, and Daniela and Jesus are two of their best servers. Come for the food, stay for the food and the ambience. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
The best AYCE sushi restaurant! The rolls were terrific! Try their ramen, included in the price. It's near Cowboys Stadium
google avatar

Yelp
Food and service was wonderful! I would definitely recommend you try this place. Didn't take a lot of photos though.

Yelp
No more driving to Carrolton or NRH to get our sushi fix!! We are thrilled Tokyo Mizu is close to home and sushi is delicious! Our favorite dish is the roast pork entrée, baos, and of course the sushi rolls especially the angry dragon one. We love they offer crème brûlée. The dishes are small and there's a 5 order limit per person per round. So if you have more than 3 people you might want to double order so everyone can share. The service is great, everyone is extremely friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. Highly recommended!

Mary W.

Yelp
Menu was small but that's not bad for an AYCE. Some items had larger portions, so unless you know which ones you could get full before trying everything you want. Miso soup wasn't right cos soy sauce had been added, greatly changing the flavor & nutritional value. Fried calamari had chili powder added before serving - so much it made my mouth burn! Service was about right, not over or under, & atmosphere/environment were pleasant enough though Japanese music would always be more appropriate than what the younger servers probably prefer... Across from the entry, there's a sort of triple waterfall thing that provides a neat background of rushing water that blends in nicely with all the sounds heard while dining. Prices very affordable but enjoyed the menu more at Okinawa AYCE with the same price. Sorry, Tokyo Mizu, you didn't cut it overall with this half-Jap gal!
google avatar

Alexandra L.

Yelp
Beautiful atmosphere, small tapas styled dishes: includes 5 options each time with unlimited rounds of all you can eat sushi!

Ariella R.

Yelp
This place is incredible. I am visiting from out of town and wish that I lived here because my family and I would live at this place. The food is so delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. The staff is extremely friendly. The place is very clean. The menu is super extensive. This place is truly off the charts amazing!!! I really wish I lived here. If you are from the area you must go support this incredible restaurant.

Jasmine A.

Yelp
This place was absolutely wonderful! We did the All-You-Can-Eat menu and had a fantastic time. It was $30 per person, and so worth every penny-- our drinks were never left low, the food was all delicious (the bulgogi bao buns were phenomenal!), and the ambience is so comfortable and peaceful. Highly recommend the New York and Cowboy cooked rolls, and the Hasu raw roll :) Everything here is fabulous, and they were so fast, courteous, and helpful. I would come here every week if we could! Highly, highly recommend.
google avatar

Jill N.

Yelp
Tried Tokyo Mizu for their soft opening! So many choices of sushi! Other options for friends that aren't sushi lovers, like Beef bulgogi with fried rice or dumplings. Waitress and other staff were so nice and helpful! Restaurant is nice, clean, and modern. Would recommend!!
google avatar

Sokouyana E.

Yelp
Ambiance and service great. Food not too bad. It's soft opening, I would have to come back and try again.

David B.

Yelp
Not bad at all for AYCE. Sushi was the highlight. Apps weren't bad, but rolls were better. Even the basic spicy tuna was good. Only complaint is that when dining with others, all the sushi comes out on one plate. Server mistakenly identified some of the rolls.

Bo L.

Yelp
The all you can eat sushi is a big plus especially for date nights as you can try everything. The portions are just the right size Thor sharing and tasting. The only thing that kept it from being five star was the sushi wasn't on the high end as far as flavor goes. But that is made for in the value. I could easily spend $100 at other places and barely scratch the surface on the menu. I would choose this over the other.

Joann G.

Yelp
I almost was deterred off the photos on Yelp from trying this place but I'm glad I took the chance and checked it out. Such a great value AYCE and the food and drinks were so good! It's new so it's clean and hopefully stays that way as time goes on as a lot of sushi places in Arlington smell very fishy. The service was great and we were seated pretty immediately and got food not long after ordering items. The muscles were cooked well but also had too much mayo and sauces. The calamari was tender inside with a good amount of meat! The ginger lychee mule was probably the best refreshing cocktail I've had in a long time. Sushi and sashimi were good! I was very impressed with the soup dumplings and fish salad. Dessert was delicious we had ice cream with the fried mantou--so good! Wish I had taken photos to add here. All in all was a very good first experience and we will be back. Hoping this place stays here for awhile and the quality they deliver is consistent. It is so nice to have this place in Arlington and that they have no time limit for ordering AYCE. It beats having to drive to Addison for Sushi Takumi or Plano for Sushi Masa. Owners need to do more advertising to let more people know this gem is here.

Yelp
Great food and service. Jesus is the best, he is very friendly and quick. The ambiance is good and the selections of food just great and well priced. Highly recommend and we will come here again with my family

Laura B.

Yelp
was going to try out the restaurant for the 1st time. it wasn't packed and got seated immediately. about 10 min later or more they sit a white couple and the waiter comes 2 min later and attends the new couple before us. we stop the waiter to ask who our waiter is and she's like she didn't know and was going to go find out. at this point we're frustrated because we let her know we've been waiting for more than 10 min and instead of just asking us what we want she wants to waste more time finding out who our waiter is? I'm sorry but we're not the audience for that type of service. the service here sucks.
google avatar

James C.

Yelp
We got their all-you-eat deal for $19.99 and between the three of us sampled a large part of the menu. Everything was great except the soft shell crab. The fish seemed very fresh. It is not a buffet, but servings are brought out as you order, so freshly made. Our server was very attentive and helpful. We will definitely go back!

Isabel V.

Yelp
The drinks and food were AMAZING, and they have such a variety of things. Our server Jesus was exceptional, and I would definitely recommend him when you come here.

Taylor G.

Yelp
Jesus was an amazing server and we ate based off of his recommendations! The drinks are strong and the food comes out in a timely manner. I'll definitely be back and I recommend that you ask for Jesus as your server to receive the best service!!

Joy S.

Yelp
Ordered a Philadelphia roll and called the manager to tell him that I had to throw it away because it smelled bad and was discolored. He argued with me and said that customers are eating it now and nothing is wrong with it. I have not heard a manager talk to someone like this in a long time. I order that roll at all sushi restaurants and have never seen one that looked like this. I ordered the chicken fried rice for my daughter and it was slimy and did not feel comfortable giving that to her either. Horrible customer service and disgusting food.

Makayla C.

Yelp
I loveddd everything about this place including the waiter, for the Mussels if you do t like anyone don't get it but over all this place is amazing and peaceful, fresh seafood and more.

Rocio E.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Very friendly staff, my server Jesus was so knowledgeable and helpful with providing plenty of suggestions. Their food and mixed drinks are just as incredible as well!

Emily D.

Yelp
Service: Our server, Jesus, was so kind and helpful. Jesus, along with the other, food runners, brought out our food quickly. Food: Everything was hot and fresh. I enjoyed all the dishes I ordered. Must orders for me is the Xiaolongbao and the Tonkotsu Ramen. Overall: I look forward to coming back and encourage others to go and support this family business.

Maggie L.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Our server Burlyn was very kind and attentive. Not pictured is the creme brûlée because we scarfed it down too fast!
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
Great food and great service! I will definitely be going back! Super fast service for anyone on a time crunch!

Alan G.

Yelp
Very pleasant atmosphere a very fulfilling menu great service. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who enjoys Asian cuisine.

Rodney P.

Yelp
Very impressive! Delicious! Would definitely recommend! Not typical buffet quality.

Kelli B.

Yelp
I went for lunch and got the all you can eat sushi which had raving reviews on social media and Yelp. The size of the portions was super small which I completely understand for AYCE however it seemed that everything was tiny. The quality of the sushi was well below what I expected for a place with more than 4 stars on Yelp. The shrimp was like rubber and the yellowtail was so thin you might as well have left it off. I really wanted to like it but it just didn't meet my expectations. The server was nice but there was nothing on the menu that would make me want to come back. They also charge $5 a plate for leftover food so I had to force myself to eat the sushi rolls that I definitely didn't like. Best of luck but I think cutting costs by having cheap products isn't the way to go.

Tara P.

Yelp
This place is great. It's $29.99 (dinner) $19.99 (lunch) for all you can eat. You can choose from a large menu. The rolls are small, which I prefer at an all you can eat place. I was able to try more rolls that way. The server was very nice and suggested some perfect options. The rolls aren't top quality, but they are very close and way better than I expected for the price. This will be my go to spot when I'm in Arlington for the foreseeable future. You really can't beat the price for what you get. I absolutely would order these rolls individually at about $8 - $9 (because of size) so getting 4 rolls plus some Nigiri and a desert for $30 is a steal. I'll be back for sure.

ann s.

Yelp
We had a company birthday party today. The food is great, love the chasue bun is super delicious. Variety of rolls. Tuna black pepper salad is also great! The waiter Jesus is so nice and patient. Served us very well. Lunch is 19.99 buffet, beautiful place. Will definitely come back!

Joe Y.

Yelp
Not that great. Sushi was same as grocery store sushi. Shrimp and fried rice bowl had 5 little shrimps. Not worth the money. Shirks have stopped at Saltgrass

Drake W.

Yelp
The food and service was absolutely great, the environment was very chill for lunch time and I would absolutely recommend to anyone, and will be coming again. :)

Jesse N.

Yelp
it's a must try .. food and sushi is so good .. good portion of food .. the service is great and people in there are kind and helpful. but definitely would come back again ..

Mike S.

Yelp
The service is always amazing!! We love the steamed dumplings, and the bao buns are delicious!!

Shawniece T.

Yelp
All you eat lunch buffet is $19.99 with widespread dishes to order with no time limit. You can order 5 dishes per round. Also, the price does not include drinks such as milk tea or soft drinks. There is a fee for any leftovers per plate, so definitely order what you can eat. They proportion food to decent size without overwhelming you. Food is made to order, so you know it's fresh. It's definitely a great experience and money's worth for ordering sushi or seafood appetizers.
