"Also, Tokyo Music Bar is a bar in Cuauhtémoc neighborhood and has the most beautiful glassware in all the country. Drinks are a modern and tasty, and the vinyl music makes it all a wonderful experience."

I definitely fell in love with this quaint little spot! The drinks on the menu are so unique and tastes amazing. The DJ had good music playing, putting on a good vibe all night long. The facility is well taken care of and the restrooms are so clean. Highly recommend

The place is Nice, service not the most attentive. Cocktails were good and also good selections of spirits. I went a Sunday night with almost nobody inside and was freezing without reason, also the music to much loud being almost empty. Still good place to chill with friends

Was excited to hear the sound system but the positioning of the speakers is not ideal. They claim to be a listening bar but the speakers are like 20 feet apart behind the bar and like 10 feet away from a wall and you do not get a stereo speaker experience. They did play some good tunes had some great drinks. I tried coming in on a Saturday night but was turned away at the door as it was "full" and I would have to wait 20 min. Came by a Tuesday and was able to grab a seat by the bar right in front of one speaker. If you're into stereo equipment you'll probably be underwhelmed by the experience. They spent a ton of money on McIntosh amps and tannoy speakers but I think the positioning is horrible.

Good vibe, bad service. The food was decent—I had the fish tostada, which was fresh and well-balanced. The drinks were creative and really tasty, but unfortunately, my friend got the wrong cocktail. When we mentioned it, the server insisted it was the right one, even though the flavor profile clearly matched a different drink on the menu. It was frustrating not to be listened to. The service overall was a letdown. The servers seemed disorganized and struggled to bring the correct bill. While we were still counting our cash, one of them swooped in and took the money before we finished, missing my friend’s portion. Then they came back and told us we hadn’t paid enough. It got worse when the server turned on her phone flashlight to count the money—definitely killed the vibe. The ambiance was great, but the service really took away from the experience. Honestly, the staff could benefit from some proper training.

One for music lovers. The speakers are incredible, huge selection of records and a great cocktail menu.

Really nice cocktails and I really enjoyed cocktails with sesame oil, the bartender was nice and professional too :)

The atmosphere is pleasing, I do love the actual vinyl playing in the background. As for the drinks, these were the most expensive drinks i had in CDMX at $260 pesos and it honestly wasn’t very good. I ordered my drink and when I got back one minute later from washing my hands, they had already plopped it in front of me when I was away… how did they make it that fast? Is it premade? Also unlike some of the higher end drinking establishments I went to, the bartenders seemed a bit less knowledgeable and more interested in talking or looking at their phone.

One of my favorite bars in the city! The music is incredible, great drinks and awesome ambiance. I cannot recommend more. So cool

Yelp
Drinks 100/10 Vibes = immaculate This place is one of the best hidden gems I have ever randomly stumbled upon while browsing Apple Maps. It's pretty low-key and hard to find. Very speakeasy. The staff was so kind, the music was amazing, the drinks are perfectly balanced. All drinks were very homemade, so refreshing you can actually taste every single ingredient blended together to perfection! If you are planning on visiting CDMX please please add this spot to your itinerary.

Yelp
A friend of a friend suggested Tokyo music bar and we had the opportunity to go so we checked it out. We went on a Monday and when we arrived, they asked if we had a reservation. We did not, but they luckily were able to find us a table, which seemed to be available either way but we didn't stay too long anyway. They play American music, has a speakeasy feel, and specialty cocktails are their thing. The drinks are on the pricier side and it's a fairly small space. I'm not sure if it has a different feel on the weekends, but a cool place to check out for a drink or two.

Yelp
This bar is very reminiscent of a couple bars in a actual Tokyo, Japan. Upon ascending up the stairs and seeing the layout/ambiance, I got a sense of nostalgia as if I was literally walking into a bar in Tokyo. This bar is slightly bigger than what I'm used to in Tokyo but that's a good thing. The layout is comfortable and doesn't feel cramped. The music helps set the mood and is played through vinyl records that the staff manually plays. Very awesome vibes. The servers are very attentive have good knowledge of the cocktail menu. The spirts are slightly more expensive than bars even back home but I suppose that's expected in an establishment like this. They have a decent whisky collection and as they should...they are Tokyo Music Bar afterall and Tokyo sure loves their whisky.

Yelp
This is a small "speakeasy" type of bar with delicious drinks. The staff was super friendly and attentive. They said you need to make a reservation but we went on a slow Monday night so we were able to get in.

Yelp
Wow so sad to read the negative reviews because people couldn't dance. We spent hours at TMB just listening to the DJ playing crazy good beats at high quality have a great conversation and some delicious martinis. Exactly what we needed/wanted. Got our dance on at a different spot later in the night but not every place needs to be a dancefloor!

Yelp
We made a reservation weeks in advance only to be told when we showed up that there was a "private event" and they could not honor our reservation. Complete waste of time. They never sent us any sort of cancellation notice before hand. I would definitely not recommend anyone patronize this unprofessional establishment.

Yelp
What a great speak easy bar. We sat at the bar and were treated like royalty. Alex and the other bar staff were fantastic and very accommodating. They answered all our questions (in English if you struggle with your Spanish) and made well thought-out and creative cocktails which were delicious. The music was great, with the DJ spinning vinyl on a magnificent sound system which really set the mood.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the ambience, service and cocktails. The Rolls Royce was smooth and delicious and very memorable .

Yelp
Great vibes, as long as you know what you're getting into. This is not a club, so no dancing. The high-end cocktails are delicious, and the music is nicely curated. You can watch the DJ select records off the shelf and play them. Very unique spot! It's a bit hard to find from the street, like any good speakeasy.

Yelp
Extremely awkward encounter with the hostess upfront. Walked up with my husband and a security proceeded to stop us and told us wait. When hostess arrived she said it's a reservation only place and they were full. Then proceed to point us to the sister bar next door. I looked up quickly on my phone and said that were tables available for the next hour, even for the next ten minutes! I showed the hostess the availability and she said I can book it and wait outside even though tables were available. We just decided to leave. Based on other reviews this is a common tactic by this place. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Yelp
My friends and I wanted to go out on a Tuesday night. We requested a Daft Punk song..nice. Then we started to get up and dance. The waitress then told us, "Sorry but this doesn't go with the concept of the bar." Lowkey not a vibe. If you want cool pics and a drink..nice. But bro, we're in Mexico City & sounds a little pretentious. We're here to have fun.

Yelp
This place wants to be a music destination, with a DJ spinning from a collection of hundreds of vinyls from the '90s, however, they have a mysterious "no standing" and "no dancing" rule but magically chose to only tell the only people of color in the bar this rule while all white people dancing were allowed to do so. The music was so loud, why have it that way if people can't facilitate having conversation since we're not allowed to dance? They said dancing goes against their "concept" -- what kind of stupid concept of a MUSIC bar that doesn't allow you to joy the music itself is this? It's a beautiful spot but the service absolutely sucks and they should get over themselves, especially when they won't let you in even if you are 5 minutes past your reservation - regardless of how full it is inside. Skip giving Tokyo Music Bar and bring your money elsewhere.

Yelp
Las horas no están correctas en su página de internet. Hicimos una reservación para las 6pm el domingo y no nos dejaron entrar.

Yelp
Good music, speakeasy type lounge bar. Live DJ mixing vinyl was a plus. 10 outta 10 would recommend.

Yelp
Ambiance was great, but one of our drinks (the ivy & gold) arrived a quarter full. Thumbs down on service and drinks, one thumb up on ambiance.

Yelp
Very cool "speakeasy" style upstairs bar. Tiny but comfortable and with great service. Focus is on the mixology and they do a great job. Features DJ playing vinyl records on turntables at the bar. Sound is great courtesy of speakers from London circa mid-1960s so I was told. All in all, well worth a visit.
