Came here for lunch on their first opening day. Upon entering, took a while to be welcomed. Once acknowledged, we were seated at a waiting table since all 6 booths & 2 tables were full.
Here's our order:
Appetizer - free edamame, which were cold & frozen. We let the head wait staff know & since its free, no biggie. Takoyaki - since it was about 70% potato filler, it was hard to tell the tenderness of the octopus bits, but overall, still yummy.
Main - I ordered the chicken cutlet boiled plate. It came with a nice small side salad of mixed greens (none of that iceberg lettuce/carrot combo) with corn (Its corn! Sorry, can't help it after that viral corn song), fresh grape tomatoes & sesame dressing. Even though the miso soup came in a small cup, it was chock full of spinach, tomatoes, tofu & corn. The chicken cutlet was tender, not tough & the side cabbage slaw with sesame dressing was pretty crunchy. Since the egg was soft boiled, it blended in with the gravy, so I didn't taste too much of that. The serving of rice soaked up all the leftover bits nicely.
Hubby ordered the eel egg bowl which he enjoyed thoroughly. The eel was nice & tender & the rice was piping hot. It also came with a side of miso soup.
They currently do not have sushi available. I asked if they served any hot green tea, which they don't & upon asking, won't be adding to the menu. So I ordered the iced matcha, which is pure unsweetened matcha tea & may not be to everyone's liking.
It looked like there was a party room as well.
Service - 3 stars (to be fair, its opening day & they are still hiring)
Food - 4 stars
Overall, I would come back to try the other menu items.
