At Tom, Dick & Hank in College Park, the vibrant BBQ and soul food scene serves up some of Atlanta's best smoked wings and tender ribs, all in a cozy atmosphere with a festive patio perfect for a sunny day.
"Tom, Dick, & Hank in College Park, has more takeout traffic than 285. But it’s a different scene inside, the atmosphere is relaxed and unbothered with a few small booths that usually fill up with friends and families passing around crunchy catfish bites and sides like sweet baked beans. During the summer and spring, the big enclosed patio is the place to be—because sticky spare ribs taste better when devoured in the open air. But whether you're scooping up takeout, dining inside, or out, you're here for the top-notch BBQ and solid soul food dishes. The smoked wings are among the best in Atlanta, and when you’re not in the mood for something off the BBQ grill like the incredible smoked turkey leg, try the crispy whiting sandwich. Food Rundown photo credit: Amy Sinclair Smoked Wings Few places in ATL do smoked wings as well as Tom, Dick, & Hank. They’re crispy and flavored down to the bone—order them with their signature dry rub, which tastes a lot like lemon pepper, just without quite as much citrus kick. photo credit: Jacinta Howard Turkey Leg This is a must-get on the menu. It tastes like it’s been seasoned in pastrami spices. photo credit: Amy Sinclair Cornbread Muffin These muffins are cloud-soft, buttery, thick, and almost cake-sweet. They’re in the top spot on our cornbread power rankings for a reason. Turkey Burger The burger is fine. It comes with a soft bun and is stacked with lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and pickles, but there are better things on the menu. Catfish Bites These are crunchy and well-seasoned. Whiting Sandwich A worthy order, the whiting is flavorful and crisp. Peach Cobbler It comes with a soft layer of crust, and the peaches are drenched in a cinnamony sauce. This is a great cobbler." - Jacinta Howard
"There are few places that do smoked wings as well as Tom, Dick, and Hank in College Park. They're tender and crispy, and flavored down to the bone. Order them with their signature dry rub, which tastes a lot like lemon pepper, just without quite as much citrus kick. They're great for takeout or for when you want to post up inside the small dining room for a casual weeknight dinner—our preference since we like to fill out table with TDH's sides (collard greens, baked beans, and bouncy-sweet cornbread), which are delicious too. "These muffins are cloud-soft and melt in your mouth like warm honey. Buttery and thick, they’re almost cake-sweet, but not so sugary it’ll start a turf war with TDH’s honeyed baked beans. The muffins are only available as part of a BBQ plate for takeout orders, or you’ll have to dine in if you just want the muffins. We know this because we do it regularly." - jacinta howard, nina reeder, juli horsford
"Tom, Dick, & Hank is a casual BBQ/soul food spot in College Park. While the interior is on teh small side, making takeout a popular, convenient options, the big patio off to the side fills up with folks in the springtime and summer. One thing you can always count on here is top-notch food. The smoke wings still start conversations and when you're not in the mood for something off the BBQ grill, try the fried catfish. "And found myself in the later part of the year getting a lot of takeout from the College Park location of Tom, Dick & Hank. They have really great wings, collard greens, and maybe my favorite (current) cornbread recipe." - Beth McKibben
