"PERFECT FOR: THE PLANNER || Tomales Bay Oyster Company has picnic tables along the water, each with a small, state-park style grill. It’s first come, first served. That means get there early (before 11) and plan ahead: you’ll need to bring a cooler and ice. You’ll need charcoal and a lighter, a shucking knife and gloves. You’ll need the hot sauce, BBQ sauce, cocktail sauce, sliced lemons, artisan sourdough, triple cream brie, side quinoa salad, chips, dips, plates, napkins, and – ever so importantly – the beer. You should also bring that friend who actually knows how to shuck an oyster and the friend who will stay sober to drive home. True pros bring cornhole and speakers to get the party going." - calder silcox

Google
Great spot, and amazingly fresh oysters, fresh out of the ocean. I was able to shuck the oysters right on the spot and they sold me a can of beer as well - right out on the picnic bench. Beautiful views and some of the freshest oysters I've ever had. They even had some hot sauce to sprinkle on the top. If you're doing that route from the city to the countryside, this place is a good stop along the way.

Google
Best place to get your oysters and clams to go! We made sure we brought our cooler and purchased 50 extra small oysters. There is nothing extra small about these. They seemed normal size to me and packed with flavor! We kept the oysters on ice and shared them over 2 days. We drove up to get lunch at their restaurant, The Marshall store, and it was very busy with limited seating, but their oysters were worth the wait. Preferred the fresh over broiled but to each their own ;).

Google
Good spot for some fresh oysters. Kumamoto oysters are so sweet. Bring a bucket if you come to get oysters; otherwise, they also have eco-friendly, one-time-use cardboard ones for sale.

Jessica Cook

Google
This is a place you can get oysters fresh from the farm. You can pick all different kinds. We had a buttery one and a golden nugget one that was a sweet and salty. Highly recommend!

Google
Thank you for the information. I learned a new thing about the oyster. I'll come by soon to purchase more.

Google
oysters are fresh and delicious with a great value

Google
Always and forever my favorite oyster farm in Point Reyes. The Golden Nugget is the highlight. It may look like it's small based on the size of the shell but once you shuck it you will find these creamy, meaty and succulent nuggets of briny goodness. So worth the drive and the price.

Google
Fantastic experience! Don't forget to bring some accompaniments (wine/beer, cheese, crackers, bread, etc.) to go along with the super fresh oysters and a blanket to sit on. Sit back and relax. A dozen small oysters were enough to entertain the two of us for about an hour, but we aren't experienced or efficient at the process. We could have gone for the larger ones. I'm sure I could eat a dozen on my own. They do have loaner shucking knives.

Yelp
I was craving for some seafood & decided to take a trip to Tomales Bay. It was well worth the 2 hour drive. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly, courteous & efficient. The store is located on Highway 1 by the water. I've brought home oysters & bay mussels that they've locally grown. They don't provide plastic bags, so don't forget to bring your own cooler. Ice is provided. Reusable coolers are available to buy if you happen to forget to bring one. Cash & credit cards are accepted. They have a parking lot for customers & port-a potties too. Cleanest tasting, high quality, freshest, best oysters & mussels I've ever had in my life! Tomales Bay Oyster Company, highly recommended!

Christy T.

Yelp
Always love coming here to get fresh oyste4s, clams and mussels to go. Service is quick and friendly. Very professional. Never more than 30mins wait. Ambiance is casual and easy to find parking. There are portal potties. Only wishing they resume some picnic area. Or let customers stay there to eat fresh items would be awesome.

Sherica G.

Yelp
Passed by this place as we were driving towards a different oyster restaurant. This is a good place to get fresh oyster. We did not buy from here because we were not ready prepared for a picnic and they do not have a sit-down area. The parking is also limited to 10 minutes.

Ashley W.

Yelp
My favorite no frills place to get oysters. They have a dedicated parking lot for customers, so you never have to fight for parking. It does get busier on weekends but in the 8 years I've been coming here, they haven't ran out. You can bring your own cooler or buy one of their one time use ones, and they provide you with ice. They also have lemons and oyster knives available if you need it. Over the years, the prices have gone up (but what hasn't with this economy). But at least they take card now, as it used to be cash only! (There is a processing fee for credit cards.) I love getting the extra smalls and golden nuggets (when I want to splurge and treat myself!), they're perfect raw! And my family loves getting the mediums for BBQ/steaming. Tomales Bay is definitely a to go place, as they don't really have a place for sitting/picnics, but there's plenty of beaches/look outs/etc nearby to enjoy your oysters!

Madhuri K.

Yelp
Two dozen oysters that we took home to shuck myself. Prices are great and they were delicious. Bring your own cooler and cash.

Jeannie P.

Yelp
This place is over rated. The oysters are fresh but small. They are very expensive too. The menu choices are very limited. The seating area have no shades. The service staff team was not friendly. The speed was so slow. I would not go back.

Connie V.

Yelp
There are a lot of options to buy from. We drove one hour to find out that it's more expensive than local and big supermarkets.

Carlos N.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and learn how to shuck oysters (It really isn't that hard, just takes practice). Then do yourself an even bigger favor and come here to get your fix. Not only are the shellfish of the highest quality and flavor anywhere in the Bay Area, they are reasonably priced as well. Just about the only regret I have about this place is how long it took us to come here.

Keila P.

Yelp
Such a cute spot with a nice overlook. It seemed a little busy but we didn't wait too long for a seat. I tried the crab roll which was very very good. The bread was soft and perfectly buttery. Prices were fair for the product and the service was friendly. Thank you!

Tiffany P.

Yelp
We shucked and slurped up dozens of their fresh oysters! The farm sits along the Tomales Bay estuary and features a wide selection of oysters and other shellfish. Based on our preferences for sweeter oysters, the passionate workers happily recommended their Golden Nuggets and Japanese Kumamotos. Turned out that neither were sweet but rather briny, yet we still enjoyed them. The plump Golden Nuggets surprised me most because of their cucumber-like texture! While the Kumies were tiny, they had a nice buttery finish.  As a heads up, bring lots of cash and a cooler. Ice is provided. No picnicking is allowed onsite, but there's lots of nearby parks and beaches to shuck and slurp up the fresh oysters!

Sirikanya p.

Yelp
Stopped by here hoping to get get fresh seafood and eat there....... But dream didn't come true because they only offer fresh seafood but you have to cook or open the oysters by yourself. We were not ready for that so the gentleman there told us to swing by their restaurant instead which was not far from the farm, the Marshall store.

Amy M.

Yelp
This was a little stop on the way during Mothers Day! They have everyone pull into the parking lot for only 15 minutes and you line up to get your order of oysters. They show you the menu and you order up the oysters you want and they will put ice with your oysters. However you HAVE TO bring your own bag! I tried the Kumamoto oysters which are supposedly the fanciest ones there and they did not disappoint at all! Very smooth and delicate and worth the try if you're willing! For anyone interested in dropping by and picking up some fancy oysters to take home or take to a bbq this place is the perfect place to go to :)!

Mae-Elisa S.

Yelp
I've been coming here for many years and absolutely love getting fresh oysters here. They have different sizes and I usually get small or mediums. They're so fresh and tasty and my husband also likes to bake them at home! Years ago, people used to picnic here but not anymore. They are always friendly in helping give best recommendations on what size oyster to get depending on the occasion you're having! You can just pick up your oysters, and head out since everything is so quick and parking is easy. Bring your own cooler! They provide ice for you! Can't wait to come back another weekend.

Will C.

Yelp
Excellent selection of oysters, mussels and other shellfish. Very fresh (you can see the beds where the shellfish is farmed as you're buying it). I don't eat oysters but my friends assured me they were delicious, and the mussels that we prepared were also great. TBOC takes credit cards now but charges a fee for doing so - slightly annoying when you're dropping over $100 on produce, as was being invited to leave a tip for the person that helped us - sorry, I don't think tipping is for stores.

Reyna G.

Yelp
They took time to pick out the bad ones and replace with good ones. Oysters are so flavorful and delicious.

Paulie L.

Yelp
Great size Osyters, Clams and Mussels. They provide ice for your coolers. Easy to find along side of the road, quick in and out pick up. They double check the oyster to ensure your getting good ones that aren't hollow, and replace them, which is awesome. Not that we would of known until we got home, but very nice gesture for their customers. Always call if there is a certain sizes or quantities you're looking for before making the drive. Things to bring: - Cash Only. No credit card, bring about $100 bucks, you may end up buying more than you expected. - Cooler - good one that doesn't leak for a long drive.

Dan M.

Yelp
Also known as Californias oldest oyster company established 1909 this place is easily passed on the 101. Oyster farm in the lagoon. Fresh oysters and great prices . Tons of size ranges from small medium and large with fair pricing , better than restaurant price and quality. Def under $5 a oyster . The service here was very inviting and welcoming. The lady was so hospitable she even gave us a great recommendation spot where we could go to shuck oysters / picnic area and enjoy the view. Overall this place is a MECCA for oyster fans

Bradford C.

Yelp
My family loves this place so much that we spend special occasions up here. The staff is really friendly and they're really helpful when we want to buy oysters. The oysters are always really high quality and fresh and it's hard for me to want to go to anyone else. Keep in mind that since this place is right next to the Bay, it'll be a little noisy from the wind and the ocean, but you'll still be able to have a normal, if not a little louder than normal conversation. I believe they're cash only, so be prepared. In addition to shellfish, they also have oyster knives for sale, and they're really handy. We bought one because we didn't have one before we came here. That was maybe ten to twelve years ago, and the knife is still holding up strong. It's hard to see myself going anywhere else for oysters. While they're only allowed to sell oysters to-go, they have a good guide of places where you can picnic. Our favorite place that used to have benches, tables, and grills appears to have been closed, but the staff here is more than happy to tell you alternatives. It's definitely worth the drive here, whether as a local or tourist.

Ricardo P.

Yelp
I come hear at least 5 times a year, cool ride to bring out of state family or friends. Great views, relaxing drive, lots of views, get there early! Bring "CASH" they only take CASH!!! Bring a Cooler, Good advice is to purchase a Oyster knife! They don't sell them hear i haven't seen them! The only bad side is there's not picnic area anymore!

Nina Z.

Yelp
Fresh as you can get! We got a dozen of the golden nuggets. There's nowhere to sit at the actual oyster farm, but they have a map of the Tomales Bay region with recommendations on where to go where you can shuck your oysters. I recommend bringing your own shucking knife, dish towel, and cooler. They will provide the ice for free. They are a cash only business and I noticed the oysters were slightly pricier than Hog Island Oyster Company further up the freeway, but those golden nuggets were absolutely delicious and fresh-as-can-be, so if you don't feel like driving all the way up, I highly recommend checking out Tomales Bay Oyster Company.

Casey C.

Yelp
So simple, so perfect. When my family and I stay in the area, I like to make a trip out to get oysters. I get up and head out to Hog Island Oster company.... who is generally closed. So 10 mins down the road I go to Tomales Bay Oyster Company who is always open and happy to sell you a variety of amazing oysters. Bring a bucket or buy one. Don't have a shuck? Like hot sauce with your oysters? They have that! By no means is TBOC fancy. It's a counter in front of a tank of oysters in front of the ocean by about 2-300 ft... when you're talking fresh, they got you covered.

Lynn H.

Yelp
Great selection of oysters in many sizes, clams too. Bring your ice chest and they will top off with ice. I like the smalls, a dozen for $20. So yummy. Friendly service too. You can't eat here or BBQ like you used to, but grab a few dozen and drive to a nearby beach and enjoy.

George L.

Yelp
I stop by every chance I get when I'm in the Bay Area. Love the oysters and atmosphere of the store

Jeffrey G.

Yelp
I've been coming to this excellent oyster farm for years (decades really). I miss the old days of being able to sit down at the property and go to town on 50 oysters, but, despite that it is to go only these days, the quality for the price, the tastiness, the range of accoutrements (oyster knives, hot sauce, limes, etc) and the solid people who work there are all reasons I always go back. This place is down to earth, salt of the earth stuff - you won't find valet parking or a bunch of posers. It is not hard to find a nice spot in the Tomales Bay/Pt. Reyes area (you might even want to stop at Palace Market in PRS for a beer or two) to take your oysters and feel like you are on top of the world. Bring a cooler - they do have compostable coolers available if you are spur of the moment-ing it. They will give you some ice to keep your golden nuggets cold. I keep an oyster knife and a bottle of Tapatio in my glove compartment because of this place.

Vic C.

Yelp
Tomales Bay Oyster Company is the place to come for fresh oysters. You can also get clams and mussel's here too. My husband found this place and so we headed out here last month with our little girl dog on a Saturday afternoon, a little after 12 pm. It was quite busy when we arrived but eventually died down when we were done and about to leave. If you see a long line, don't let that scare you because the line does go by pretty quickly. We ended up purchasing: 1 dozen medium oysters, $25 2 pounds of clams, $15 -------------------------- (Total= $40, no tax) Please note that this place is CASH ONLY. If you come here, I highly recommend you bring a cooler, bucket or large strong plastic bag (a clean trash bag will do, which is what we did since we had some in our car, leftover from a Costco run that we forgot to put in the house) to put your fresh newly purchased seafood in since they will not give you a bag. But if you for to bring something to hold your items, you can purchase a plastic bag from them for $3 or a bucket for $6. Please note that they do provide ice for free though if you need it. There are porta potties here if you need them, in addition to a sink that you have to step on to pump out the water. There is soap and paper towels provided. With our tasty purchase, we ended up driving to Point Reyes National Seashore California to grill up our food and had a nice picnic lunch (they have a nice picnic area with tables, grills and restrooms available for use. If you decide to come, don't forget to bring your own charcoal and matches or lighter). Prices here are good for the most part. Although some of their items could be purchased cheaper elsewhere but Tomales Bay Oyster Companyalso sells some of their items cheaper than other places. We would come back here and make an afternoon of it by grilling up some oysters and clams for lunch at the nearby national park.

Yelp
If you're in the mood to shuck around and find out, you need to make the drive here. Takes 1.5 hours from San Jose, but sooo worth it for the most delicious oysters!! Every time I'm back in the Bay Area, I almost always make it a mission to get some oysters from here. People who say they don't like oysters have clearly never had fresh ones. Love supporting our local oyster farm too! Once you've had the oysters here, it's like you don't wanna get them anywhere else. Restaurant happy hour oysters are no longer the same. They've got quite the variety too-- extra small, small, medium, Kumamoto, and even golden nuggets. My favorites are the smalls and golden nuggets. The extra small may be too small? Def still enjoyable, but small. I prefer more of a plump oyster, without being too large. I'm not quite there yet with the bigger raw oysters, lol. Anyway, I love this oyster farm and will come here until I physically cannot anymore. Pack your coolers and let's shuck!! :)))

Aryana F.

Yelp
We went to this old favorite recently after a long hiatus. We were saddened to see that the county had made them take out the bbq grills because apparently people were parked along the road and causing a hazard....but it in no way reflects on the business itself as these people try the best they can to bring the best and freshest oysters at the best prices to us fanatics. I bought three dozen oysters (smalls, which are perfect for eating raw or grilling, $20 a dozen) and then we went straight back to the lodge where we were staying at. I then shucked and grilled them for my mother- who had never tried such a treat- my special recipe of garlic, lemon, butter, horseradish, and cholula won heart (and stomach;) and she ate a full dozen! Be sure to get the shucking gloves, knife, cholula, and horseradish- all at Tomales Bay because their prices are great! ALSO - be sure to remember it is CASH only. Fortunately - she let me eat the other two dozen so I was happy with that:)

Carrie C.

Yelp
Have been to this oyster farm for years and it never disappoints. Really fresh oysters and great selections. Small or medium oysters are my favorite!

A W.

Yelp
Love this hidden jem! Great food and very chill atmosphere. More of a Michelin rated take-out than a sit down restaurant. The view of the ocean with the shack--classic not cal coast!

John G.

Yelp
The last time I wrote a review of this amazing place was in 2008? Time for an update. We celebrated 4th of July this year by grabbing some oysters and we headed to Tomales Bay State Park for a picnic. It's been a few years since we've been here, and it's always a nice drive up to this coast. Also years ago, they had picnic tables here and you can enjoy them on site. Well, things have changed. Here are the updated prices for oysters: Extra Small - $17 a dozen - $65 for 50 Small - $20 a dozen - $75 for 50 Medium - $25 a dozen - $85 for 50 Golden Nuggets - $25 a dozen - $85 for 50 Clams & Mussels: 2 Lbs. for $15 On our first visit back, we grabbed 50 medium oysters. We forgot to bring a container, but luckily, you can purchase buckets and they fill your bucket with a enough ice to keep the oysters fresh during your travel. They are operating under the current COVID guidelines and they have signs as reminders posted on their menu board. All associates are wearing masks and customers are also complying with social distancing. Parking gets full here, especially on the weekends, but just stay patient as a spot or two will become available. They also have associates directing and assisting you on parking. Wait time isn't that long, so hold your horses and practice your breathing skills; they will come in handy. What we love about their oysters is they come straight from the bay. After being harvested, they keep 'em fresh and alive in huge tankers and use the same bay water that they circulate and filter so they retain their flavors. Unlike some other oysters farms out there where they'll place the oysters on ice, this changes the texture and flavor of the oysters. And speaking of taste, it's salty, briny and sweet at the same time. Slurping the "juice" is like tasting the Pacific Ocean itself. We like 'em raw as is, but you can certainly add some lemon juice and hot sauce. It's the perfect combo. A couple of weeks later, we came back again and grabbed another 50 to take home this time. I also found a cluster of oysters that had 5 different-sized oysters in one huge cluster. It was like a Pokemon of oysters, and shucking out the meat made me feel like opening a Christmas gift. Then a few weeks later, on August 1st to be exact, we came back again with my youngest son and picked-up 50 more medium oysters, a dozen Golden Nuggets and Clams. I've never had raw clams before, but they said we can eat 'em raw when they are fresh. I was a bit apprehensive at first, but they had a nice crisp bite and sweetness to it. It was a different kind of sweet, but it balanced out the saltiness from the juice. Man, if they bottled that juice, I'd be splashing that stuff on everything. In my humble opinion, Tomales Bay Oyster Company has the best oysters and clams in the Bay Area, maybe even all of California. #YelpChallenge2020 review No. 30

Young K.

Yelp
I used to love coming to this place often pre-pandemic with friends to enjoy fresh oysters, clams, and mussels while BBQ'ing at their picnic tables. So this Sunday, we decided to drive 75 min out here specifically to TBOC to get some fresh oysters, clams, and mussels, despite there being 2 other oyster farms just a short distance away. (FYI, they are currently not open for picnics at their site.) Sadly, after getting back home and spending half an hour scrubbing the Manila clams and cooking them, we found out that half of them were already dead/unfresh at the time of purchase. (notice the shells still closed or the dried out meat stuck around the edges of the shells. If they were fresh and alive, the shells would open up wide and there would be one single plump piece of meat inside once cooked) The whole reason for taking the long drive out here was to get fresh "live" seafood. Needless to say, we were very disappointed. The oysters were a bit disappointing as well. I remember the large ones being about twice as big and very meaty. But to be fair, they had a display of the actual sizes. And all other sizes except the XS were the shallow thin meat kind instead of the plump type. Maybe that's just how the Pacific oyster variety is. The XS (Japanese) ones were nice, plump and delicious but were very small and the most expensive. Oddly, the mussels were actually the best thing we had bought. They were a bit of a pain to scrub and clean since they had a lot of tiny sea particles and beards on them. But once they were cleaned and cooked, they were nice, plump and delicious. However, we did have a couple that did not open up This experience has made me question why I would go to such lengths to go to the source - the farm where they actually grow them, to get such poor quality. I hope you'll do better TBOC. Or else you'll lose another loyal fan/customer.

Damaris F.

Yelp
We love supporting TBOC every time we can when we are visiting. Be advised that's it's CASH Only but they have an on-site ATM if needed. They also have buckets and ice, shuckers, gloves and lemons and hot sauce for sale if needed. They're super friendly and helpful, it's unfortunate they lost the ability to have tables here but their oysters are outstanding and worth the extra planning to picnic somewhere else. This last time we purchased 50 small and took them to Tomales State Park for a picnic to enjoy. Super fresh and buttery, I can't wait to return as their oysters are some of the best I've ever had!

Denmark T.

Yelp
This is our go to spot anytime we want to buy raw oysters to bring to the nearby beach or home. A variety of shellfish available but have always preferred small oysters.

Joanna H.

Yelp
If you love oysters, clams, and mussels, this is the place to get them! I came on a Sunday at around 10:45 AM and there was a long line, but the line moves pretty quickly since it's more of a quick grab n' go. I ended up waiting for about 20-25 minutes total which wasn't bad at all. You must keep your mask on at all times and remember to bring a cooler! They will provide ice for you. Also, this is a *Cash-only* place, but they do have an ATM machine in case you don't have cash on you. Solid spot with fresh oysters, highly recommend!

Keri J.

Yelp
Great, quick service on a busy weekend afternoon. They were informative about the different oyster types and have all the sauces / shucking tools to purchase if needed. Excited to go back!

Veronica N.

Yelp
Major Tips: Bring an ice box (ice provided), bring cash, bring your own condiments, and bring your appetite. Of course, also wear a mask during these times. Also, do some quick research of the area and map out a spot where you can safely eat if you plan to eat immediately. There's no signal in the area so I couldn't map to recommended places to sit and eat. The line moves fast as long as you know what you want to order. Parking lot is small but it looked like a good flow of people were leaving when people arrived. I ordered extra small oysters and enjoyed it over the course of two days and enjoyed it very much. Had it with ponzu + wasabi or lemon + tabasco. I think I'm going to have to come back to get the other sizes to grill. Service - 5 / Food - 5 / Price - 4

Robert B.

Yelp
Long waiting in line. Pretty good oysters. $$$$ compared to oysters in Maryland. And no better.

Maynard M.

Yelp
Ummmm. The drive up here is not easy like Sunday Morning after coming from 101. Really curvy but manageable. Tons of bicyclists so be careful. Gets really tight! When you arrive and get out of the car, you'll get a great whiff of the oyster smell. And it's a good one that doesn't die. Arrived around 10:08 am and line was not bad at all. I actually love places like this. Reminds me of Maui and some parts of Oahu without the chickens running around. Ended up getting a dozen extra small and two dozen small. Both were fantastic. They GMFU. Lol Urban Dictionary that. But fr though, if you love oysters, this place is a must. If you don't like oysters, then gtfo lol. Somethings wrong with you. Jk. The oysters were silky, clean and fresh. With a squeeze of lemon is the way I like to eat them. Bring a cooler. They have ice. Tip the workers. The person who helped me was able to tap on a few oysters to make sure they weren't hollow. If they were, he replaced them. I freaking love California and fresh oysters! With all that's happening in our world, I'm glad we can still enjoy life by eating oysters. Wow!

Marc G.

Yelp
Stopped by Tomales Bay Oyster over the Fathers Day weekend with some friends. Parking was easy and the people working there were friendly. Prices for the oysters were a whole lot better than if you got them at a restaurant. Definitely will be coming back for more oysters in the future.

Ben C.

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday morning and it wasn't very crowded. We got a dozen extra small, two dozen golden nuggets and two dozen of the Japanese oysters. We brought them to point reyes to shuck. Almost everyone there at the picnic tables had oysters as well. You can buy a temporary ice box there for like $10 or bring your own. They also sell condiments but probably best to bring your own if you want to save money. The oysters themselves were great raw. We ate half of them on the second day and the taste did change pretty quickly. I'd recommend eating them on the first day you get them though they were still darn good on the second day

Joey N.

Yelp
We came with the hope for shucking oyster experience but it was a little bit misleading. First, this place only accepts cash so be prepared before your come. Price range might vary but a dozen of the types of oyster we had was around 25-40$. They do have some pretty detail menu and tips on which one would be good for raw and cook. Second, there's no picnic table or so for you to shuck and enjoy your oyster right there. Parking was limited to 10-15 mins for pickup only. Third, they do sell tools for oyster shucking if you don't have any and all the boxes & ice fire pickup so it's convenient. We read some instructions online and thought we could've had shucked the oyster right there but we could not. You can only come here to pick up some oysters home or find a picnic area or go to Bodega Bay. No on-site experience. Oysters were fresh so it made up for it. They sell lemon & different sauces for oyster as well but you could bring your own.

Bailey K.

Yelp
Love Tomales Bay Oyster Company! We came by here on a Tuesday afternoon to pick up some oysters for an upcoming celebration. They have a variety of oysters to choose from at very reasonable prices - much cheaper than what you would pay at a restaurant. I also enjoy how they provide a visual of the oysters side by side so you have an idea of what you'll be getting. The staff is incredibly friendly, I'd return here for the service alone! They answered all our questions and also provided free ice (it's hard to find anything for free these days) so that was a major plus. This location is cash only, which is kind of a bummer, but I'm willing to look past that because of the overall experience. They do have an ATM machine on-site if you forget your monies. Love that they are against single-use plastic and sell compostable/biodegradable coolers onsite.

Yelp
This is such a great stop on the drive back from Point Reyes. It has a wide selection of oysters and some other shellfish. We got 50 oysters and their special garlic sauce which was the perfect topper. The one mistake we made was not buying a shucker there! They are very difficult to open with any other knife so we had to go buy one farther up the road. Much better prices for oysters than at other local restaurants and very high quality seafood.

Yelp
Got in line about 9:15am on a Sunday. Already a line started to form. However, the line was moving fast. Ordered (50) of the Golden Nugget oysters. Bring your own cooler. Pros: quick parking (there's an attendant that directs you where to park), atm machine on site, friendly staff. Oysters are fresh. There are additional condiments for you to buy (try vinegar/peppercorn sauce). Coolers are also available for purchase (Just in case your cooler is to small or you forgot one). Provides ice for your purchase. Cons: Can't really think of any drawbacks besides it being Cash Only. This may be a drawback for some people if you prefer plastic.

Yelp
One of the best kept secrets in the Bay Area. Delicious freshly harvested oysters that just doesn't miss.

Yelp
I've been coming here for YEARS now... so time for an update. This place is CRAZY packed and busy during the warmer season, and to be expected. Whenever I hike or visit Point Reyes for a hike, fish, or photograph, I love ending my trip here. Grabbing a bag of fresh oysters and trying them before buying has always been a great way to end my day up north. During the colder seasons, they don't open this place up for picnic and bbq. It is for pick up only, again, which I totally don't mind. It could be raining and I still pick up a bag of oysters. If you go here in the warmer season, get there early to snag a spot. This place gets really packed.

Yelp
I'm surprised I forgot to write a review on this place because my friends and I have been coming here for YEARS. The oysters here are super fresh, some are sweet and some are briny but the quality is superb. My first time here was in 2009 (wow 10 years ago, when you were still allowed to grill on the spot) and my family was expecting an oyster bbq where someone is cooking and serving but we were soooo wrong. You had to bring all your own stuff to grill with but luckily we were able to bum some coal off our friendly table neighbors. We learned from that time and we brought our own utensils, oyster knife, extra food, and coal from then on. Now, they wont let you grill there so you can either eat it raw there or take it to a nearby park to grill. The price point for the oysters here are great, we usually opt for a 55 count bag of medium oysters for $75. We also add a bag of clams for $15. The medium oysters here are great both raw and grilled! As for the clams, we usually make steamed clams with white wine or beer with some tomatoes and garlic tossed in. I highly recommend checking this place out. It's a bit of a drive but the food and atmosphere is worth it! If you're only going to eat the oysters raw, you can just shuck them open on the spot. If you want to grill it, I suggest going to Bear Valley Visitor Center. It's about a 15 minute drive and there are washrooms, hiking trails, and deer. It's really pretty! Hopefully TBOC will get their permit back soon because I miss grilling there!

Yelp
The best oysters in the Bay Area!! Go early at 9am to ensure you get your desired amount with no lines. We arrived at 9:15am and there was only 1 group ahead of us. Staff were really helpful and were able to remove any starved ones. The staff even opened up one and let me eat it. Since I hadn't had breakfast, it was absolutely delicious and fresh! I ordered 150 medium - $225. ($75 for 50) Shuckers are $15. Make sure to bring a large cooler to fit all of the oysters and load it with ice! Staff is pretty generous with the ice and we loaded up the car and were on our way. Great picnic area is at Stinson Beach, even though it was about 40 min away. It is definitely worth it for the large amounts of picnic tables, grills, and a soft sand beautiful beach just past the shrubs. The water is super cold but really refreshing! Our oysters were top notch! I wish it was closer so I can have an oyster bake more often!

Yelp
Best service, friendliest people, love the oysters. We always stop here to get a dozen or 200 on our way to Lawsons landing or bodega bay.
