19 Places to Find the World's Creepiest Toys

"Hidden in an unassuming passage near the metro Grands Boulevards, is a tiny shop called Tombées du Camion. Tombées du Camion (meaning goods that have fallen off the back of a truck) was founded in 2006 by a sculptor and interior designer, Charles Mas, who rescues eclectic stock from the dusty corners of disused factories all over France: mostly fabrication française (French fabrication), with small and unusual items in large quantities. In addition to a small Montmartre boutique crammed with treasures, there is a vast stand in the Marché Vernaison which feels a little like a surrealist supermarket. Curated almost like an art gallery or museum (only a lot more fun), this collection of ephemera ranges from the end of the 19th century to the 1980s. You’ll find pristine packets of toilet paper from the 1930s, old wooden typographic stamps, glass doll’s eyes by the thousands, fake tattoos from the 1960s, poison jars, wartime postcards, heavy old coffin handles, and bicycle-shaped sunglasses from the Tour de France. Each artifact is in its own wooden box or crate, with its own story." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

Slightly high in price, but I liked their offerings so I decided just to buy. You are able to haggle prices down if you give a reasonable offer. I bought a vintage beaded flower (largest pictured for 14 euros) and a vintage Canada Dry Ash Tray my husband really really wanted.

Such a cool shop! We went on the toy side where they have hundreds of variety’s of dead stock. If you are a collector this is where you need to go. So many old things in pristine condition and it’s even cooler bc they have multiples. It is organized perfectly and whimsically displayed. The shop manager was so nice and I enjoyed talking with her. We bought a few things to take home with us and my son loved the little boat whistle we found.

Cute and funny little store. Worth the visit just to look around and browse through the nostalgia. Don't forget to check out the ceiling. The items are a bit overpriced though; €5 for a small postcard which I would've bought if it were €2..

Yelp
What a unique shop! It's full of lots of little toys and unique gifts. It's a perfect place for anyone who likes antique toys, the old letters that were used for printing, or anyone looking for something fun for a friend. I've never seen another store like it.

Yelp
This little store in Montmartre is packed with amazing stuff. First, you'll feel like you stepped into a shop that was abandoned back in the 40s. The window in itself can be a surreal view! Then you discover the myriad objects that give meaning to the name "tombées du camion" which literally means that at some point in time these goods simply fell off the truck and got misplaced, lost, buried by more important stuff for years... and then unearthed for your enjoyment and of all those who find everyday vintage objects appealing. There is something to all this: the certainty that perhaps not all days past were better, but their objects can certainly transport you and were meaningful, or endearing or at least a bit naive. Make sure you check it out if looking for a very different Paris souvenir! Just beware: it's pretty pricey and the euros pile on quite easily!
