The 15 Best Chili Dogs in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"The South Bay loves Tomboy’s, the throwback chili dog and hamburger stand that’s open breakfast through dinner. Chili is available everywhere on the menu, but hone in on the 1⁄4 pound all-beef dogs for maximum success." - Farley Elliott

This was a surprise. After getting gasoline at Costco, I needed a bite to eat while on the run. This was certainly a surprise as the food was made to order - it took several minutes versus seconds, like the typical fast-food drive-thru. Yet, the wait was worth it as the food was tasty, newly cooked and prepared well. Produce was fresh and fries were toasty, not oily. Having this my first time, the menu was overwhelming - and many restauranteurs recommend sticking to smaller menu joints for the best quality. The rule may not apply here at Tomboy's - so I will be back to try additional menu items. Bag-to-go works well to eat behind the wheel, But ONLY while parked. This is hefty food stuff, so there was no need to drive while eating this. It's definitely not fast-food. The very nice lady who took our order with patience also served us with the utmost kindness - she gets 5 stars!

First time having Tomboys, I was working down the street at Northrup Grumman on a project. There are some pricey restaurants in the area, I wasn't looking to go that route. This place was located near a transit center, so can be a convenient option for those traveling city transportation. Serves American and Mexican breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings, pretty much a typical hamburger joint. I was supposed to find they also sell pizza there, an unusual offering for a place like this. I have a bacon hamburger, which comes with bacon, crisp iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, white onion, pickles and 1000 island sauce. Served on a toasted bun. Shoestring style french fries seasoned with a Lawry's type seasoning salt. Overall the burger in my opinion was fresh and tasty served as is, you may opt out to some of the ingredients, such onions, as I do occasionally 🤣. The drive thru is a little narrow, so if you are driving a bigger vehicle, be careful or park and go inside. My friend in Chevy Silverado drove over the curb. ♿ Handicap parking and entrance.

Just like I love the flat grill burger at In-N-Out, this place has a similar vibe! order it with their house sauce, the food is fresh and clean. The Garden patio is nice but usually no one sits outside

We came to Tomboys to try their chili dogs and end up eating breakfast. The food was delicious, the French toast and pancakes taste home made. The hash brown were nice and crispy. Overall great breakfast experience

Google
If you are in the mood for old school diner food you have come to the right place. The fries are utter perfection with the right amount of crisp and seasoned correctly. The burger is moist and hits all the right tastes. And then there's the pastrami sandwich, this thing is girthy so bring your appetite. I know I will have the meat sweats after this one, but it's so good. The decor is dated which lends to the old school diner ambience.

The pics before I devoured my Chili Dog and French Fries lol 😂. This is from Tomboy’s Famous Chili Hamburgers on Marine Ave in Lawndale, CA. I was craving a chili dog today for some strange reason, so I ended up eating lunch there today. Tomboy’s has one of the best Pastrami sandwiches in California. I also highly recommend their Onion Rings. Their French Fries are seasoned with Seasoning Salt and are a hit with any sandwich you decide to get from their menu. I’ve been coming for many, many years and their food is always prepared fresh and hot. They have a nearby location in Manhattan Beach on Manhattan Beach Blvd, just west of Aviation Blvd.

Usually a place is a hit or miss, and for me it was a miss. I used to come here sometimes with my mom when we were in town running errands. It was a great place to stop and have a burger at before heading off to Costco or target or any of the other stores in the area. We just so happen to be in the area and decided to give it a try, we hadn’t been at the restaurant in several years. Our breakfast entree choices fell flat. The quality just wasn’t there. I ordered the 222 breakfast and the sausages weren’t good at all; they were hard and dry. The bacon strips were cold, a bit soggy, and a little grey looking. In the past, the burgers were really good. I don’t know what that looks like now but I felt that was worth mentioning. They have a nice patio that’s outdoors.

Yelp
Tomboy's has been a South Bay staple forever but it has never been a place I've frequented often. This location is easy to drive right past, but it was close by when I was craving a burger and shake so hit the drive thru. The line takes some time since they actually cook the food when you order, but I didn't mind the wait. Friendly service at the window. The burger here is Cali style so to speak, similar to an In n Out burger a couple blocks away, but with a much shorter line. There's a soft bun, thin charred patty, plus some lettuce, tomato, cheese slice, and 1,000 island type sauce. (think it might also have onion and pickle which I left off) It's nothing fancy or anything to rave about, but hits the spot when you've got a burger on the mind. I also got a vanilla shake which was on the thinner side but ready to sip right away and with plenty of vanilla flavor. Prices are also very reasonable. The menu is robust so plenty of other options to try next time around.

Yelp
I know 5 stars for a place like this maybe crazy BUT, the service was great, and food was great. Chili Cheeseburger was great, better than the famous "Tommy's". Chili fries were awesome, love the small fries, similar to McDonald's. My wife was pleasantly surprised! Good prices as well. We will be back when in the area. Need to try the pastrami....

Yelp
This place has gone down. Food sucks Price went up on the pizza slice but the size went down.

Yelp
Good as always. When I fly down I try to get Tomboys even though in really do t care for burgers, but my hubby and daughters love burgers. So I said Tomboys which is close to a Tommy Burgers. Growing up in the South Bay it was a must to get a tomboys burger. Did not disappoint...the greasy chili on my burger and chili on my fries. Was like I remembered. Now that I'm older and eating late I did have heartburn, it was worth it though hahahaha

Yelp
If you are in the mood to eat a chili burger from the original Tommys in the Rampart district but live in the South Bay, you need to try Tomboy's chili burger. Not quite like a Tommy chili burger but damn close !!! Bun was toasted perfectly on the edges and ample amount of onions on the burger. The chili was very good. I ordered the double chili burger with no cheese. I do not know of any other place in the South Bay with a chili burger as good as Tomboys. I have yet been able to try other items on the menu. My intent was to use the drive thru but was backed up. Dined inside and plenty of tables and chairs.

Yelp
Okay. Is this Tommy's on the corner of Lincoln in Santa Monica? Nope but it's pretty good! I was craving a chili cheeseburger with zucchini fries. I headed over to this place after leaving Costco. The burger tasted fresh, the pickles were sour and delicious, and the chili cheese was mildly tasty. Nothing overpowering. The zucchini fries are mid. I'd probably never order them again and try something. Overall, if you just want a burger then this place is an okay option.

Yelp
When you get off a metro called "Redondo Beach" you kind of hope to be in said place, instead you are dumped in Lawndale with one place to eat and nothing else around, but hey, at least Tomboy's Burgers was there to provide some food. My wife and I wandered over and as soon as we walked through the front door were greeted by a big menu above the counter and some questions for the 50% pizza and 50% burger menu we saw, but hey, I like both of those things so no complaints. I decided to get a bacon cheeseburger with a side of onion rings (we split our sides, she got the French fries). The food didn't take very long to come out, which makes sense since the place was completely empty around noon on a Sunday which worked in our favour. The burger was as average as a bacon cheeseburger could be, no complaints and did the job. The French fries were on par with the burger and they were solid. The onion rings were way too breaded and I felt like I was just eating a pile of bread crumbs, so wasn't much of a fan of those. Overall, Tomboy's Burgers was an average burger spot and thanks to its location, fine. Would I come back? Probably not, though I am tempted to see what this place does for pizza. Either way, if you get off the Redondo Beach stop and need food, they got you.

Yelp
I will probably not ever come back to eat here have the hotdog chili with mustard and cheese and onion. It was not too bad. It was pretty messy and they did not know utensils no fork was provided.

Yelp
Tomboy's Burgers - A Hidden Gem That Hits Every Craving If you're in the mood for classic comfort food done right, Tomboy's Burgers is the spot that delivers -- and then some. From the moment our food hit the table, it was clear this was going to be a flavor-packed experience. The Pastrami Sandwich Let's start with the star of the show -- their pastrami sandwich. Generous doesn't even begin to describe the portion. The pastrami is piled high, tender, and perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of smoky richness. Every bite had that melt-in-your-mouth texture, balanced by tangy pickles and mustard that cut through the savory goodness. The bread is toasted to perfection -- soft on the inside, slightly crisp on the outside -- making it the perfect vehicle for all that meaty goodness. The Chili Cheese Fries If you think you've had good chili cheese fries before, Tomboy's will make you rethink the standard. Golden fries are topped with hearty, flavorful chili -- no watery mess here, just thick, meaty chili with deep seasoning -- and then finished off with a mountain of shredded cheddar that slowly melts into the warmth. Every forkful is pure comfort food heaven. The Atmosphere & Service Tomboy's has that no-nonsense, old-school burger stand vibe that just feels right. You order, you eat, and you leave happy -- no pretense, just solid food. The staff is quick and friendly, and the food comes out hot and fresh. Final Verdict Tomboy's Burgers isn't trying to reinvent the wheel -- they've perfected it. Whether you're here for a loaded pastrami sandwich, indulgent chili cheese fries, or just a cold drink on a sunny day, you'll leave satisfied (and probably a little full for hours). Worth every bite, and definitely worth coming back for seconds.

Yelp
I drive by this place all the time and at last I stopped in. I was planning to get a burger but when the very helpful cashier told me the Monday night special is 1/2 price pizza, I couldn't resist. I got a whole Hawaiian pizza (8 slices) for $9. The Hawaiian pizza was delicious! The homemade sauce was perfect. There's plenty of parking and indoor/outdoor seating. And a drive thru if you're taking it home. I'll definitely be back on my next Costco run (since it's very close to Costco).

Yelp
I was in a rush to grab a few chicken strips for a few kids for my meeting I arrived it was one person ahead of me to thought they took forever no it's the actual restaurant I got to the window and waited and waited for chicken strips only no fries no drink just strips and when I finally arrived to the meeting those strips were burnt! And disgusting omg the children were hungry and upset Never again will I visit this place! The strips smelled like burnt grease just horrible I could have went to Jack n box for faster and better strips

Yelp
I had some time to kill so i walked over to Tomboys for some breakfast. The pancakes were good, eggs were good and the bacon was cool. Couldnt have been a little crispier but it sufficed. If im ever in the area and was hungry and give them another try. Maybe test out their burgers.

Karlene A.

Yelp
We've been coming here for years, not sure what happened with the service/quality of food. It was a sign that there was no one inside restaurant at 5:30pm, and no cars in drive thru, we ordered Pastrami combo and 3 chicken strips, $30.74. My chicken strips were burnt and tastes like they were fried in old fish oil!! DISGUSTING . I'm sure owner doesn't read comments. What a shame to see this place go downhill.

Yelp
Located right next to the Redondo Beach (Marine) Metro Station, you will find Tomboy's Burgers. Best way i can describe this place is a cross between The Hat a Tommy's with a few other things in the mix like pizza and salads. Honestly the only reason why we ate here was because it was within walking distance to the station. I ended up getting a pastrami sandwich combo which came with fries and a drink. Overall i found the pastrami decent, not too fatty, sliced thin so it melts in your mouth, and it had some mustard and pickles. What i didnt quite enjoy was that the sandwich was really wet so that the bun was rather soggy. Luckily i ate at the restaurant but thinking back, the sandwich probably doesnt travel well as it was a bit hard to eat because of all the juice. I thought the fries were nice and crunchy and the soda fountain did serve coke products which i prefer over pepsi. Overall not a bad place but also nothing that i would specifically rave about, its just more of the convenience if your in the local area looking for some variety as the menu is quite extensive which also includes cold sandwiches like a chicken salad and mexican plates like tacos and burritos.

Yelp
~consistently delicious plus a wonderful temperature for the food (hot but not scalding) ~affordable ~fun (drive-thru and dine-in options) I have done both and both please me ~accuracy of order ( we get what we repeatedly say want) I don't include repeatedly to indicate lack of patience, hearing, technology or whatever...our unit insists upon repeating our order three times minimum to certify accuracy) Fill your tummy with delight at Tomboy's!!!!

Yelp
$6.99 for 2 pieces of gooooooood pizza and a medium size drink! I shared and only ate one slice and I'm full! Then pizza tasted quality! Only took 5 mins! Drive thru too! My fam is staying across the street so we went here! Ambiance is ok! One of those burger joints! So a slice is only $2.79 which is cheap these days!

Yelp
I have not been here in years. Decided I would eat dinner here. Checked the hours. And Yelp states that they are open until 10pm. So, I go inside and place my order at 9:33pm. The girl taking my order is nice enough. I ask if there is a way I can get half French fries and half onion rings with my burger? I was however told, no. I think that's weird. As, damn near every burger place at this point will accommodate this. However? As I come back inside from retrieving a cup to get some ice for my personal lunch cooler? (I asked if it was OK before I did it.) The young lady who took my order says she was just informed that they are closing in five minutes.... It's 9:40pm. I ask the man behind the soda machine, "You're closing in five minutes?" Yes. "You're closing at 9:45pm?" Yes. "You close... At a quarter to ten?" Yes. "I literally just checked the bourse before I walked in here. It said you close at 10pm." No. I am so god damned sick of all of these fu**ing businesses closing early. And constantly just deciding on a whim, that they are going to close early tonight. I watched this exact thing happen at the Steak n Shake in Compton. Kept closing early. Or even at completely random times. Never any thought for the customers time. I have seen this become an all too common trend. I have worked my entire adult life. Plenty of that time was spent working in restaurants. I have never worked in any establishment, food, retail, or other, that closes at a quarter, anything. I am currently in a bind when it comes to my living situation. So, eating? Is pretty much something I hold dear. As a time where I can just sit there. At a table. Like a normal person. And relax. Enjoy my food. And just watch my iPad for a bit. I don't want my food in a bag. I don't get food to go. And while, they offered to let me eat on the patio? That was not an option for me. As, I already explained. I just want to be able to relax and feel normal for a bit. I was extremely annoyed that I was just told I had to leave right after I ordered. And while I told the girl I wasn't upset? I wasn't. But I was very annoyed. I told them if I had to get it to go then just give me a refund. Which? They did. Which honestly kind of surprised me. And also added to me beginning to get really upset. Which, I would have gotten anyway as I started to realize yet another business is just closing randomly again. And I only got more upset as I started putting all of my stuff back into my car. And had to jump it again. (I need a new battery. I know this. But, the fact I decided to turn my car off for nothing? Also contributed to the frustration building up.) As stated, I've worked in restaurants. And when we say we are open until a certain time? That means we take orders up until that time. NOT! I will say that again, NOT, that we get to be closed and out of the building by that time. If we had a customer walk in and want food at two minutes until we closed? You know what? I get it! It sucks ass! And we most certainly would politely suggest they get it to go. Or, let them know like, "We are all just about to be done." But, in a professional way of course. But? If they decided they wanted to stay and eat? Oh well! Sucks for us I guess! I am just tired of everyone these days acting as if expecting someone to do the bare minimum? And simply work the posted hours that you agreed to work when they hired you? Is some insane overreach? Or an unattainable and audacious expectation. And that my time, the customers time? Mattered as much as the peoples who are being paid to be there. Again? This is me being frustrated with a broader trend. And not all on Tomboys. If you want to close the dining room at 9:45pm? So be it. But you need to post that somewhere. And maybe I'm a complete asshole? And you really, genuinely do close at 9:45pm? I e never even heard of such a thing in 46 years on this planet. But? Let's just say that's the case? Then, change your hours! Everywhere! Yelp! Google. Apple. Your storefront. Etc! And if you close the dining area at a certain time? STICK TO IT. As, I just know that if you post that dine in closes at 9:45? The second the first person orders at 9:40? They will be told it's take out only. And so the cycle continues..... Maybe I'll try Tomboys again in another few years? If they're still around? Or? If anything is for that matter? At this rate? Who TF knows? I wish that was me trying to be funny. I really do....

Desarea J.

Yelp
Use to go here a lot when I lived in Redondo. The place has changed. I ordered at the drive through which was initially a pleasant experience. I ordered the chili burger with cheese and asked for some peppers on the side. After paying for my order she brought my food and I noticed the peppers weren't in the bag. I waved her to come back. Asked her for the peppers and she gave me two containers. I don't like to waste stuff so I just put the second container back on the counter. I guess this annoyed her. She then gave me enough ketchup for an army and as I was putting the ketchups back onto the counter, because I just didn't need that many, she just started pushing them out the window onto the ground. My burger didn't have cheese in it as I requested and was over all flavorless. The young lady was rude and I don't ever need a chili cheese burger that bad, so I just won't return. Ever. :-)

Yelp
I went to Tomboy's twice on 7/3/2024, in part because it was so close (right across the street) to the Hilton Garden Inn Los Angeles/Redondo Beach where I was staying, and also because I enjoy good diner food and it had some decent reviews on another site where I saw it first. Unfortunately I didn't take much by way of pictures due to time and things I needed to get done. Here we go: Breakfast -- 3 eggs over medium, bacon & hash browns with a tortilla, coffee, and ice water. The eggs were cooked perfect to order, and bacon crispy but not over cooked. The hash browns were a good sized portion, cooked perfect for being tender and having a nice light to medium brown crispiness -- full of flavor. I enjoyed the coffee as well. The tortilla was huge (maybe 18") and I should have gotten butter for it, but actually was too full from the eggs and hash browns to eat it. Late Dinner -- bacon cheeseburger w/ tomato & mustard, a side of French fries, an iced tea, and (not pictured) a strawberry/vanilla ice cream shake. They burger & fries were very tasty - fries crisp (but not too much), bacon crisp (but not overcooked), and same for the burger. Good iced tea and a great strawberry-vanilla shake that I enjoyed on my walk back across the street to the hotel. Service was better in the morning, but still pretty good at night. I would definitely return again if in the area!

Yelp
I had the most delicious chilli cheese burger and onion rings this past weekend. I had a taste for a good burger and didn't feel like getting out the dinning in or even getting out the car and was really pleased when there was a drive thru. I got a chilli burger and onion rings it cost $12 and change. It is a copy cat of original Tommy's but I actually like Tomboys better

Yelp
This Tomboy's location is conveniently located near a Metro station and a Costco. It's a good location for a quick meal. The Tomboy's chain is perhaps best known for their Chili Cheese Burgers. A basic burger with lots of chili. Eating one in your car may become a mess, so be careful. The chili is decent. Instead of regular fries, another popular choice is the Child Cheese Fries. Once again, very messy, and you'll want to use a fork. There are lots of fries and chili, and can be a full meal if you have a mild appetite. The last time I had this there were no onions, so I'll need to remember to mention adding onions the next time I order this. The California Dream'In Omelette was a good basic omelette. The small cut-up ortega chilis inside added a nice spice taste, not very spicy, just good tasting. Topped off with a good pile of guacamole (I guess that's all it takes for something to be called Californian whatever.) Lots of potatoes on the side - could have optionally had cottage cheese which I chose not to have. Sourdough toast was served hot and already buttered along with a couple of jam packets. Good. The menu has the typical collection of fast food items and I haven't had anything I wouldn't order again. Service has always been good. There is an outside eating area, which can be a pleasant place to have a meal on a warm day.

Yelp
Tomboys has the BEST FOOD EVER. Whether it's breakfasts, burgers, pastrami sandwiches even corny dogs! Everything is great, hot & the service is outstanding!

Marcia M.

Yelp
Food always tastes fresh and good. The service is as quick as possible, and I always go to the drive-through on the way home from Costco. It works out perfectly.

Yelp
Surprisingly good chili cheese fries! Honestly, I wasn't expecting much so for these type of places the gauge are the chili cheese fries. 100% blew me away no joke. The chili isn't a thick unknown goopy goop. Instead it resembles something that was truly cooked, with some meat and other ingredients. You can actually taste the meat and tomato and onions etc. Truly surprised by this place!

Yelp
Delicious food and great service. Will be back again to try the rest of the menu. Tasty sandwich and those chili cheese fries were amazing.

Yelp
My family and I have been loyal customers here for over 20 years and have never had a negative experience--until tonightAt the lawndale location. Unfortunately, this visit set a new low for customer service. We went through the drive-through and had to repeat our order four times. The employee asked us to speak up, which we did. When we got to the window and paid, I noticed the total was incorrect. I politely pointed it out to the cashier, who initially insisted it was right, then blamed us for not speaking clearly, and finally attempted to charge us extra to fix the issue. I had to go inside to explain the situation, only to find we had been overcharged by nearly $15. The employee continued to argue and place the blame on us until a manager had to step in. This was an incredibly disappointing experience, and that level of customer service is simply unacceptable.

Yelp
This place is located in Lawndale/El Segundo. It's one of those spots where it feels pretty old-school like a small chain or a family owned fast food style place. The menu is surprisingly extensive with lots of burgers, hotdogs, and sandwiches, etc. The folks here we're really friendly and efficient. I ordered a chili cheeseburger combo, which came with fries and a drink. When I got my food, it comes with a cup of catch-up. I asked for an extra cause. I usually use a lot to catch up with my fries lol. The chili cheeseburgers really solid in the fries were great. Perfectly crisp and fresh. Oh, this place is solid for sure, but I feel like a lot of people either eat here out of convenience, because of the quick and efficient service or because of nostalgia. For example, my coworker who wanted to come here for lunch grew up in the area and told me and used to go to this place all the time.

Yelp
I have been coming to this place for years and it was always good until recently. I went a few months ago and ordered a double cheese burger and chili cheese frys. The frys were good but the burger had no flavor at all. It tasted bland like if they cooked the burger without even adding salt and pepper. I thought ok maybe its just this time since it has been good in the past, i will give them the benefit of the doubt. So I went back about 2 weeks later and ordered the same thing. The cheese burger again tasted bland and had no flavor. So I told the manager, not to get a refund or a free meal but because I really use to like this place and don't want them to lose business. He was kind and listened. Its been months since I went back. I decided to give it another try the other day and I hoped the manager listened and fixed this problem. I went with my family, it was 4 of us. We all got cheese burgers and frys. I ordered what i alwyas get, a double cheeseburger and chilli cheese frys. The frys were good as always. Unfortunately, the burger was plain and had not flavor, again. This is the 3rd time this has happened and it wasn't just my burger. All of my family said the same thing, that the meat had no flavor whatsoever. How hard is it to at least throw some salt and pepper on the patties? I'm not sure if I will be back. if this continues who knows how much business they will lose if the burgers continue to have no flavor I really hope tomboys fixes this problem. Its sad because the burgers use to be tasty and had good flavor, I'm not sure what happened.

Yelp
please don't eat here this was my second attempt i went through the drive thru order a pastrami combo 25.00 for a rubbery dry tuff pastrami sandwich top it off reheated FF that were so cruncy they more like patatoe chips. i called them and she told me she wasn't responsible for serving me so sorry. instead of saying how can we make it right! please do yourself a favor don't eat here.

Yelp
Food is ok. Everything came out fresh. Ordered a egg sandwich and zucchini sticks. Can't complain. They are tight with their Ketchup and free water. Alittle but pricey then your average burger place. The only complaint I have is the mannerism of these cashiers. Their attitudes is is kind of in a rude side. You are not properly greeted and it shows how they just love their job lol. Ordering from this place feels like they are entitled to their business showing less focus on customer service. Again, place is ok and parking is tight. Just mehh.

We got the double chili burger, the Frisco burger, chili cheese fries, and an Oreo milkshake. The frisco burger has two hamburgers patties on a Parmesan sourdough with an Italian dressing, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions (I took out the pickles). To be honest the Parmesan crusted bread was too much, but the rest of it was unexpectedly a really good burger. The person i with was said the double chili burger was ok. It's pretty much what you ask for, it's all chili. The chili cheese fries was one of my favorites! It had a great portion of chili and cheese :) The Oreo milkshake...oh my god! It's the best too!

Yelp
During our stay at the hotel, I got lazy and didn't wanna drive to have dinner, I just wanted to walk across the hotel and try the Tomboy Burgers. I got the double cheeseburger combo with french fries and a soda. I ordered on the phone and then walked into pick-up. Ordering over the phone was easy, and went very smoothly. The person sounded very nice. Order got ready in a short time. The burger was alright, and the french fries was yummy. I was starving therefore I ate them all. However, my soda cup had a hole right at the bottom, which I noticed when I stepped into the hotel's parking lot. Didn't wanna go back, and tried to use some napkins. It was frustrated until I reached the room.

Yelp
I have been going to this place for about 5 years. It always had good burgers. So, i went there this week with my girlfriend. It was her first time there so i was excited for her to try it and hoped she would like it so it could be our new go to spot. she got a double cheese burger and onion rings and i ordered a triple cheese burger and some fries. The hamburger patties on mine were completely flavorless. I didnt want to say anything to ruin her experience but after she had about 2 bites my girlfriend said her cheeseburger was very bland also. I told her mine was also. after we were done she told me to please dont bring her back to that place again. Damn, i guess its not going to be our next go to spot. they could at least take 2 seconds to sprinkle some pepper and salt on it or some type of seasoning. tomboys management please correct this so we can go back.

Yelp
$19.99 for a burger combo. No thank you. Went down the street to Steve's Charbroiled burgers and got the same combo for $12 and it was delicious.

Yelp
Solid, Needed a hotdog, fries and a drink. More Pricey than In and Out. Loved the dog. Fries could have been crispier

Yelp
Ruined our chili cheese fries. We asked for chili cheese fries with onions and the put pickles. It was gross. Even after removing the pickles on top chili and cheese had a taste from the juice. I would have understood a mistake of 1 pickle maybe but there was like 8 arranged in a circle on top. They did it intentionally.

Yelp
It's just okay and borderline mediocre. Fries were overcooked and too crunchy. Something was off about the coke soda, and the small straws they give you are very subpar. Additionally, the drive thru lady wasn't friendly at all. Their main positive is they have a wide variety on the menu. Unfortunately I won't be returning unless I'm starving.

Yelp
Ok these are the best Chili Cheese Burgers in the Southbay!! Lots of chili but not so much that you spill it all over the place, which is how I like it, so you can eat it in the car without any drama :) The fries are really good but the top side here for me is the tater tots. They are actually more like discs then tots so you get more crispy outside in every bite :) But as much as I love the burgers my favorite thing on the menu is the Rio Grande Breakfast Burrito (eggs, cheese, potatoes, bacon, ham, sausage, guacamole & sour cream). It's soooooo good! Packed full with the "Pork-Trilogy" of Bacon, Ham AND Sausage!! It's definitely going to fill you up! Just ask for some salsa and get tater tots on the side, you will be ready for a nice nap ;) I've only ever used the drive thru so I can't comment on the inside... If it was even open right now :( The staff is always friendly, masked & gloved at the window, and everything comes out quick & hot! It's located at a weird location right at the southern side street-entrance to the Costco shopping center behind the VW dealership.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite chili cheese fry place in California. I've been eating here for 21 years since I was 5 years old. I always get my fries well done/ extra crispy. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. I rate the chili cheese fries a 10/10. I also love their pastrami sandwiches. I have yet to taste chili cheese fries or pastrami as good as theirs. I've recommended Tomboys to all my friends and family over the years.

Yelp
Never have been here, so last week after a Costco run, I told my wife, let's try this place..Just s few weeks back we went to norms and breakfast for two with tax, $58.00, this included a $9.00 tip..Well, we hadn't been here a a while and was shocked to see breakfast going for $17.50, not steak & eggs but eggs, bacon, home fries & pancakes.. Yikes..I fully recognize the various reasons for this prices & I'm also fully aware, there not going to go back to pre Covid numbers again... Back to the review, the restaurant was clean, staff attentive & the food/portions were just fine.. Well, all together $23.00 for two breakfast, add Tax, $25.30 then add a tip $4.70, for a total of $30.00.. We will be back.. A 4 Star

Yelp
I was hungry before i took my car in to VW and as I pass by this place all the time, I decided to finally give it a shot. It's like any charbroil burger joint in LA and their food is good. I had bacon and eggs with hash browns and sourdough bread and was pleased with the entirety of my meal. One day ill have to get a burger and fries from this place, even if its early in the morning.

Yelp
Just barely 3 stars for the Rio Grande breakfast burrito - definitely big and packed with flavor, but it was a bit dry and had a bit of the "made with the same ingredients we use for bacon and eggs" feel to it that some breakfast burritos can have. Flavors were OK, but it definitely needed some hot sauce which made it reasonably tasty. Also, it was not cheap ($13), though I will say I was not hungry at all until the evening. Mid pack, at best, and really only recommended if this location is especially convenient and you are dying for something like this.

Yelp
The only food option close to the Tesla Supercharger. I had a large crew of 10 to feed, so I ordered 10 pastramis. Didn't realize how huge they were. We could have easily gotten away with 5 sandwiches, as most of us could only take down a half. So we had leftovers for our road trip. The flavor was ok, and not too salty. Mustard and pickles gave a good combo. But heavy fat. And meat was a bit rubbery. I've definitely had better pastrami, but this place hits the spot as you're waiting for your Tesla to charge across the street. Come here for convenience to the Tesla charger, but the sandwiches are just mediocre.
