The only thing a person can count on in life is constant change, and at around 3:30PM on a Tuesday I stopped by for a mojito during their happy hour, which is from 3PM-6PM, and there wasn't a single person at the bar. Not surprising though considering the "feels like" temperature is currently 110 degrees and they have all their sliding windows and doors open, along with their water misting fans on. It's like a steam bath in here!
I was dressed in shorts and a t-shirt, so I decided to stay and have one, after all, I paid $3 for one hour of parking. I ordered my mojito, and painfully watched the bartender attempt to make my drink. I jokingly asked if he went to bartending school or if he were a state-certified bartender, which I am...and he answered no to both. But he was very nice and service was great.
When I went to check in on YELP, a coupon popped up good for one free appetizer. ($20 value) So, I thought about it, and ordered another mojito along with ahi tuna tacos. However, when I showed the offer to the bartender, he stated he didn't know about it, and asked if he could take my phone to show the manager. I agreed, along with telling him that I'm not responsible if any pornographic photos pop up! We both laughed. When he returned he stated that the manager didn't know about it either, but they would honor it.
The tuna tacos were good, and so was the second mojito. To be honest, I'm not sure I'll be back, at least not until November or December...maybe...but by then, the snowbirds and tourists will have descended upon the area and if this business is still open, I'm sure they'll be busy like they once were.
