Came into this shop to grab a quick coffee before a cycling class across the street and had a weird and non-welcoming experience. I would have given 0 stars, but the politeness of the woman working behind the counter made me change my rating to one star.
There was one customer ahead of me being helped by an employee, so I was essentially the only other customer in the cafe. I saw a group of people sitting at a table in front of the counter, but I was the only customer waiting to be helped. I was waiting for someone to greet me or take my order for at least 5-7 mins before someone at the table seated got up and and helped the girl behind the counter, and then turned to me and ask if I’ve been helped. I thought this was a weird question seeming as they saw me standing there waiting for someone to acknowledge me. I was later surprised to find out this was the manager/owner of the cafe. He took my order, asked how I would pay, and then sat back down. Once my coffee came, it did not taste the greatest but I was willing to overlook due to how long it took me to even place an order. Towards the end of my cup of coffee, I started to taste coffee grounds. When I opened the lid, I saw that the rest of the coffee was straight grounds. I brought this to the attention of the girl working (lovely sweet woman), and she said she would tell her boss. She offered to make me a new coffee, but I did not have time as I had to get to a spin class.
The owners should reflect on customer service, flow of service (looked like the girl working had some questions but was apprehensive of bothering her boss), and quality of their products. $5 for coffee grounds is gross. Would not recommend & probably won’t return.
