My family and I were out of town and decided to try this place. Made reservations on yelp and we got to the restaurant we were greeted and seated right away. The restaurant was very nice and clean. We order drinks which were nice and cold. I order the kids a bento box. The kids really enjoyed the food the kids express how good the flavor was with all the food in the bento box and they're picky eaters too. My wife and I ordered sushi which we all agreed it was delicious. Overall great place to eat even if you're out of town.

Came here for lunch always enjoy a good sushi spot. Was seated right away want to busy. Decided to order a bento box with chicken teriyaki, gyoza, and spicy tuna roll. All were delicious. Bento box came with miso soup which was great and a salad that I didn't care for as it was warm and barely had any dressing on it. I ordered some sashmi, 6 pieces of Tuna, tasted very fresh and was wanted would of ordered more of not being full from the bento box. Definitely would recommend stopping by if looking for some good sushi.

This place our family’s absolute favorite restaurant. Even though it’s about a 50-minute drive from our home, we try to come at least once a month. Everything we’ve tried has been amazing — especially the Chicken Katsu, which is our 8 and 5 year old kids’ all-time favorite, the Korean Chirashi, and honestly, every single roll on the menu. It’s always worth the drive👍

Unexpectedly good food! The menu is as usual what you expect from an usual California-located sushi place. (They have bento on weekdays). We got one cooked and one raw sushi. They put sauced imi crab on top of shrimp tempura roll -that is a nice addition. The multi-colored roe-topped sushi was a delight for the eyes and has a tiny flower for decoration -a nice touch. (See photos). When I looked closer to the sushi cross section, I was happy to see a larger part is fish, they didn't skimp on it. (More fish, less rice). The fish tasted okay. Value for money is good, ambiance is just normal just chairs and tables with pendant lights, and beer bottles lined in the wall (decorative). The service was courteous and prompt. Highly recommended!

My wife and I ate here for lunch. The waitress was super friendly and just a joy to work with. Our food was outstanding as well with special mention to the 49ers roll with it's perfect balance of crab, lemon, and salmon flavors, the miso soup for a surprisingly savory finish, and the bay scallop roll that melted in the mouth with delectable goodness. This is our new favorite sushi restaurant in town. I really want to try the tonkatsu ramen on my next visit

Fantastic rolls with selection of saki, sodas and tea. I got a sashimi plate and everything was fresh and delicious.

Came in around 1PM on a Saturday, and there were only 2 other pairs there, so my group of 5 was seated immediately. Our server gave us waters right away and took our order within a few minutes. We ordered a couple of bentos, a ramen bowl, and some sushi, with 2 orders of karaage to start. The karaage came out pretty quickly, which was nice and hot, crispy and flavorful. It was so good we ordered another round. Everything else came out just as we were finishing the last plate of karaage, and we all enjoyed it. Food tasted delicious, sushi had a lot of pieces, and everything was nice and fresh. Would definitely come back if we're in the area again.

Small sushi spot, love their sushi happy hour great selection. The servers are kind and attentive. Will come back.

This is our second time here. We came less than an 1 hr before closing on Sunday and we're treated nicely. We liked the variety on their menu, they have katsu, ramen, sushi. Food was very good and service was great! This is our new fave resto.

I have been here two times now and I'm finally getting around to living a review. The first time I'd stopped in in June on a whim. Excellent customer service and lots of choices on the menu. We shared the edamame as well as three rolls. The garlic edamame as the best flavor, best I have ever had! My apologies in advance, I forgot what the names of the roles are that we shared. But they were excellent! Great customer service, decent prices, clean restaurant, lots of parking. Definitely coming back to this location!

This was the best meal I had all day... and I needed it. I ordered the hot and spicy tofu soup. I needed something nutritious and good for the soul. And this was it. They served me quickly and delicious food. I felt 100% better. My car windshield got a crack from a rock, I had to pick up trash today, rain is coming, and I didn't do my best at work. But this place has a nice calming mood. When I need a pick me up and something to give me energy... I come here!

Food is 3.5 stars Value is 2 stars This is a casual restaurant with casual quality Japanese food at a high end price point. They give generous portions, but no way should their bentos be $30.

Pretty average sushi spot, nothing amazed me but it was good. No wait on a Saturday night. Service was fine. Small spot, decent sushi. Favorite roll we had was the island roll.

2nd time here and the bento box was a good deal. Fresh and yummy. Big portions and service was great too.

The service was fast. The restaurant is small and nice; very clean. The freshness of the fish is 8/10. I preferred the sashimi instead of the rolls. Highly recommend getting the chirashi bowl.

After a long day, I came out to Livermore to meet my Dad for a later dinner. He suggested Tommy Katsu since his coworkers raved about it and neither of us has been. Everything was good, no complaints. The restaurant gives off a super casual atmosphere. Inside there's some decor Asian decor, bar seating, and a handful of tables. We found the service to be decent. Considering they were closing we were helped and served quite quickly. My Dad and I shared the Tuna Tartar. I thought it was okay--it was spicy but my spice tolerance is low. The mango was mild and helped cut the spice and the avocado made it creamy. It would've been nice to have chips or something to dip it with. He had a Unagi Don and I got the Double Salmon Roll. I loved my role, if you love salmon this is for you. The salmon was buttery and silky. For the price, it was pretty good! If you want a variety of Japanese food in a casual atmosphere, Tommy Katsu Sushi & Grill is a great spot. They serve so many items and offer a happy hour which I'd like to try. The restaurant is a bit tucked away in the back but is close to In N Out, with plenty of parking in the lot.

I've been here many times now & I love it every time :') just a classic, family owned small sushi restaurant! I've gone here on my own, with family, with friends, etc. it's my favorite! Every roll I've gotten is great and delicious. Their fried food is especially good too (shrimp tempura, katsu dishes, fried rolls). I'll always go here for my sushi fix!

Food was just as good as the first time. We came in as a group of 10 and they were kind enough to accommodate us. Despite how chaotic I'm sure it was to look after us and other tables, our server Alex made sure to check on us a lot. Our food came out in good time and was fresh and delicious. Our 2nd table ordered a lot more and everyone was quite pleased with their food. My dad ordered the tonkotsu and said it was fine, not overly wowed. I ordered the Yuzu Sake and JYP. The Yuzu Sake wasn't as seasoned with the sauce as I expected, but still was tasty. The JYP was perfect with a good enough kick without suffering. Overall, still really pleased with the food and service here.

Located in the same parking lot as Home Depot Livermore. Lots of parking easy to find. We visited this restaurant around 1 pm on Saturday. Were sat down right away no wait. It was nice to see they had the lunch special on the weekends also. It was quiet and service was quick. The rolls were great the jalapeño sunset is now my favorite roll. The beef teriyaki I thought was a small portion but the meet was flavorful and tender . You can upgrade the side to other rolls but we got the gyoza. The California crunch came with a wasabi sauce which was actually very tasty and not over powering. We will come back to try their happy hour and other rolls great service and restaurant was clean.

Stopped in for a casual lunch with coworkers- we all were impressed with the food! The garlic edamame is a MUST - the name is a little misleading as it's barely garlicy, but the sauce is delicious. We ordered multiple rolls: cherry blossom, dragon, Tropicana, 100*, and Bay Lobster (my personal favorite). All were delicious! The team thought it was a hit. The service could have been friendlier, but they kindly allowed us to take up a table for hours during their slow period in between lunch and dinner (thank you!!) so can't complain!

It is located in a shopping center with a decent size parking lot, so parking was easy. We got seated right away. We arrived at 8pm on a weekday and they close at 9. They were very friendly and attentive. Service was A+ We started with the Luau under the special appetizer. The tasted very fresh and the pickled radish added a nice crunch to it. In terms of rolls, we got the lion king roll (it was baked to perfection), the galaxy roll (also great!), and the jalapeno Hama (had a nice kick to it). We also got the deluxe sashimi, which i think the fish pieces were fresh and big! One person in our group got the pork katsu don. He really liked it - said the chicken was fried well. Ambiance was casual and great vibes. Overall we all highly recommend this place. Definitely will return!

Food is fresh! Great service and clean place! My kids loved the bentos and were happy they had oshinko maki rolls. The gyoza was crunchy and they give you a large amount of food for the price. Highly recommend this hidden gem.

We had the Jalapeño Bomb, Philly Roll, Unagi Hand Roll, and the Godzilla roll, and everything was really good. The quality of the sushi was good. There were a good amount of options to pick from. I was able to customize one of the dishes (with a charge) which was pretty cool. I definitely recommend giving this place a try. We were initially skeptical, but we were craving sushi, so we decided to stop by. Thankfully, we gave it a chance. It's conveniently located right off the freeway, with plenty of parking. The restaurant is a bit small, but the atmosphere is nice and clean. Staff were friendly.

Very clean restaurant, workers are nice, only complaint is that the quality of thor if fish is a little low and they give you pretty thin slices compared to others. Overall it's a good sushi spot and satisfies the craving.

Came here o. Our way back from a road trip alo g the coast. Walked in and quite small abd bathrooms weren't very clean .... but that aside the sushi was great .and the the calamari was so crispy and yummy .we would deff come back .

The chicken katsu is amazing. It's tender yet crispy. It's super fresh and the sauce is perfect. I have no complaints. The service and ambience were fantastic as well. Very nice host and the decoration is on point.

Tommy Katsu is one of the hidden gems of Livermore, and probably has the best casual dining sushi experience as well. The fish and rolls are always fresh and delicious, and the array of specialty rolls are fantastic, there will always be something on the menu for whatever mood you are in or food that you crave. The service is always attentive and kind, whether it is busy or not. Be sure to check out the Happy Hour as well, 12:30 - 1:30 PM & 3:30 - 5:30 PM, for some great values on some of their most popular rolls!

My sister and I love this place! The sushi is really fresh, affordable, and the service is quick. We love coming here for dinner after a long day at work. The place has a very cozy vibe and a lot of options to chose from. You can dine in or take it to go. It's conveniently located in Livermore so you don't have to travel too far for some good sushi. The only con about this place is it's usually slow in the evenings so they close earlier than their listed hours. We've rushed here after work to get a quick bite to eat and they'll close up an thirty minutes to an hour early.

In town for work and want to find a good sushi place. Honestly their Happy Hour menu pulled me in. These rolls were suggested by server and they did not disappoint!! Fish was fresh and delicious! Timing also was perfect they did not bring out all at once. Highly recommend for Sushi!

A consistently high quality sushi dining experience both for dine-in and take-out. We placed a to-go order once to take with us when wine tasting in Livermore (terrific idea btw!), and celebrated a birthday here recently. Awesome service, super fresh sushi and all around excellent experience! Restaurant is clean and relaxing, and the music is lovely and complimentary to the chill setting. Enjoy!

Came here Tuesday night for some late night sushi! Love the ambiance, the service was great, and the food was delicious! We ordered the double salmon, jyp, nigiri deluxe (10 pc) and got an additional roll of choosing since I had a voucher for a free roll when ordering 60$+ from my previous DoorDash order. Our third roll was a red dragon! Out of the three rolls, my favorite was the double salmon! The jyp had a unique flavor with the jalapeño and a lemon slice on top but it surprisingly works! The nigiri was delicious and well presented. The additional gold flakes on top made it look fancy and professional! Our dinner also came with miso soup. We also had very delicious genmaicha tea. A great place to get sushi if you are in the area!

The Staff is Wonderful. Rolls on Point. Garlic Edamame are Amazing. Will be back often.

Came back for happy hour! Decent place to go for quick and cheaper sushi. Still located at a more small intimate place, which is a plus in my opinion. Will say the first time was better. I will come back to try more of their off the happy-hour menu options, like the 49ers the first time (my favorite roll here, nice and refreshing). Otherwise, the salmon kama is always worth the happy hour time, usually order 2. One for now and one for later~tehe. In other words, they're a decent place to go, especially if you just want more alone time with people. No loud music, more calming than anything and they have decent interior. Any entree items, they cook very well, no real complains. The only thing would be seasoning that can be worked on. The sushi is okay for what it is. Again, I'll try more items, because what we got this time, we ordered more catered towards my parents who don't like eating raw fish. I personally didn't like the tempera in the rolls this time, not sure last time. In terms of service, they only have 2 people, but they're nice and check up on you I would say, often. Soo overall good service.

Still on our Friday lunch rotation, still good quality food and rolls. Had the bento box with salmon and tempura, salmon was cooked perfectly as in just done but lacked in flavor. Appeared cooked with no seasoning and light glaze added. Lion King roll was yummy and this time we tried their calamari, which is large rings that were surprisingly thick and very tender. For fried, they were not greasy at all. We started munching right away so I didn't get a pic until after it was nearly done.

This place is so cute and clean. The servers were so nice and polite. The food was so so good. I definitely recommend.

Easy stop off of 580...we ordered Hamachi Carpaccio (excellent) . Mixed Tempura, batter was good, only complaint is that out of 7 pieces of Veggies 3 of them were potato (real bummer, our dog enjoyed it though) deducted a start for lack of assortment. We got the 6 pieces of sashimi (so fresh and delicious) . The Star of the meal was the Chicken Katsu, I never order Katsu because it is usually so dry and bland, This was so juicy and tender If only they were all like this...if you are a fan of Katsu, you must order this....seriously so good, the sauce was not too sweet or spicy....love this place. We were seated quickly and the food came out quick as well. Staff was on point and we were pleasantly surprised that the bill was very reasonable for all that we ordered. Very clean and pleasant decor. Def recommend

We tried this restaurant with some friends when we came for a visit. We were a party of 7 and was nervous if we'll be able to get a table and we did. The kids loved the sushi and I had the tempura. That was sooo good! It was lighter batter than a lot of other spots which I very much appreciated. Even my friend's mom who doesn't do sushi loved her teriyaki chicken. Everything here was really great.

I indulged in the jalapeño roll and the sweet chili chicken appetizer! i forgot to get a picture of that again! lol! but the roll is really good. The restaurant in general is really small, not good if you have a big group! The waitress was really nice and accommodating to the group I was with!

Had a great late lunch with my family here. We ordered sashimi, 3 sushi rolls, and beef sukiyaki. I saw they have lunch specials and also happy hour M-F. The prices are reasonable for sushi and the fish is so fresh! The beef sukiyaki was also very flavorful. The place is not too big but we were still seated right away and I like how there is a small shelf for plates and the sauces connected to the wall rather than on the table for more space.

Sushi rolls were very delicious! This was my third time coming here and service/ food / ambiance were all enjoyable.

Chicken Katsu was lightly coated. Service was fast and friendly. I did not need to wait long for my order either.

We ordered the bento with salmon teriyaki and CA roll, red dragon roll and bay scallop. Menu was not accurate. Kids wanted edamame beans which they told us they do not offer it after the bento came. When the bill came Sapporo beer was a different price than the menu. Food was great but inaccurate menu was a turnoff.

If I could give this place more than five stars I would. My husband and I had a late dinner at this restaurant with our 5 month old baby and had to wait approximately 30 minutes for our table. We didn't mind because we really wanted to try this place out, the owner or manager was so nice that they gave us an edamame appetizer on the house just for waiting! The sushi was sooo good! I think of this place often and can't wait to visit again. It's a whole in the wall sushi spot that offers amazing service and just a feel good spot. 10/10 recommend! We found this place after a day at the SF Outlets, in Livermore. It was an early dinner so the place was pretty empty. Received a friendly greeting from our server. The interior is nice and clean. We ordered two Combo dinners and a pork katsu entree. We also had gyoza and garlic edamame (very good) to start. The house salad was very good, miso was good. One service hiccup... my daughter's Combo B came out quickly and about 10 minutes before our meals came out. Gotta work on the timing. Our entrees arrived and they looked great. The chicken katsu and pork katsu were fried perfectly. They were light and crispy and hot. Sashimi was plump and fresh. All in all, a good spot to visit.

You guys are not going to be ready for this one. I came in with my husband, my mom and little brother. We came in on a Friday and were not really expecting much (as we do at any new place we try), but Tommy Katsu Sushi & Grill served us nothing but freshness and greatness. Everything we ordered was so good that we finished almost all of it. When we sat down we were made aware of the specials they were having and uni is one of them so we ordered 4 orders. Two shrimp tempuras, tuna tataki, salmon sashimi, chicken karaage, double salmon roll and lion king roll & bay lobster roll. All of them are delicious and would definitely recommend The ambiance of this restaurant passed the vibe check, it wasn't too loud, it was very clean and everything is in place. The fact that it's small and we can kind of see the chefs making our sushi adds to the vibe. I am actually really particular with my food and this place have checked all the boxes for me. Can't wait to go back already :)

Pretty good spot! I want to come back again to try the katsu. I got TEMPURA UDON which was good, nothing special but I would get it again if I was craving udon. The BEEF SUKIYAKI was good, but a little sweeter than I'm used to with not as much noodles as I was expecting, but it came with a side of rice!! Very filling. Lastly, I got the CRUNCH PHILLY. Not a big a fan of the cream cheese in rolls, but this wasn't bad! Not sure if I would get it again but my mom LOVED it.
