Best freaking bagels in the tristate area. Also their spreads are unmatched, i have never had better lox spread. The true definition of lox spread, fat chunks of salmon in them. All of their spreads have actual ingredients in them, not just flavoring.

Hands down best bagels in Jersey. Moving here from NYC i was lucky to find this place. sandwiches are delicious too

Great BAGEL store, they make their own donuts. Delicious! Their service sucks! The little Mexican lady and the small little Mexican guy are the best workers in there, you could forget about all those other young workers that they have in there they don't know how to greet people, they always get the order mixed up. They look at you like they're doing you a favor when you're the one coming in and spending your money there. They always get the order messed up. The owner should really start overseeing his workers. You can't let these young kids be on their own without an overseer. Really hope they clean up their service. Otherwise I'll have to get my bagels elsewhere.😞

Great spot, great sandwiches. The Bialys are very good, some of the best I’ve had. I got a BLT on one and it was really great. Service was very good too. I would definitely recommend and will return. It’s great that they have plenty of staff.

Tommy's is killer. Food is always on point and consistent every time. You can see the owner Tom in the back there bustin his butt. I love this place

Great bagels if you like them hot 🔥. I do wish they were more room temperature so the cream cheese didn't ooze. The renovation is really nice. The guys who work behind the counter move really fast to get you on your way!

This is what a bagel place should be. Great bagels, airy on the inside, not doughy. Standard flavors - no trend followers here. Just good food. Quick service, reasonable prices. Update - they've added some other bakery items to the store. Turnovers, donuts, rugelach.

Great everything egg bagel sandwich.. They were so NOT cheap on turkey so my sandwich was piled high.. Seating is limited and tight but worth it for a great bagel (this coming from a NYer)

I have been coming to this bagel shop for decades and the quality has definitely shifted down in the last few years to the point where it's very hit or miss. I ordered an egg bagel with lox spread. I receive a plain regular bagel with lox spread that is 98% regular white cream cheese with a few minuscule specks of lox in it. If I wanted a plain bagel with plain cream cheese I could have gone to dunkin. The lox is now prepackaged, so I just might as well get it from the grocery and the last time I had the whitefish it was very salty and not the same. The bagels themselves are good in texture, but i would skip on the spreads and just buy your own at the store. if my bagel was made incorrectly on a slow Monday morning, I don't know what would happen had it been a weekend. Very disappointing

Best bagels I've ever had, and I've lived in and around NYC for a long time. Service used to be very sloppy, but lately it seems like they're making a valiant effort to become more organized. Also thank you for finally accepting card payments. Ambiance is what you would expect from a bagel shop- limited tables, lots of patrons moving in and out.

Tommy's Bagel is a small old fashioned bagel store. They have a very large variety of bagels that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Bailey's are delicious as well. Both bagels and bialys remind me of NY. The best. A large variety to fill your sandwich, from all fishes to deli meats and egg salad. Been going here for 13 years. Very rarely a disappointment.

Worst customer service. Walked in and seemed like the guy was disturbed that we were trying to order. Told the older guy to light toast my bagels twice to make sure and still have black burnt bagels. Bad attitude and no smile.

How you gonna be a cash only shop but not have a working ATM in there? Just take cards and stop trying to avoid paying your taxes ‍‍‍

My stomach is in knots over how bad the cream cheese was. They layered it on to the point where it was comical and unmanageable to eat, there was almost 3 inches of cream cheese. Bagel was decent but the cream cheese is disgusting and they do not know how to properly make a bagel with cream cheese. Never again

First time trying this place on way to my work. Great bagels (firm outside, chewy inner dough - yum). Everyone at the office liked them. Nice service, too. Not tried but heard someone mention they're happy they now have the new grill installed, so guessing good for hot breakfast sandwiches now, too.

Best bagel in central Jersey without question. I mentioned this to the new owner recently and he was genuinely flattered. My three star review is based on counter service. When I bought a few bagels and received my change a"Thank you" was needed. Instead change was given and employee quickly headed over to some patrons seated and started chatting A customer before me was given a thank you when the employee heard the ch ching of money landing in the tip jar. Sorry but tossing a few bagels in a bag is not worthy of a tip but a smile and a thank you would have been nice

Great bagels. That's all that matters, right? The place is a hole in the wall but who cares. They scooped out extra bagel dough, toasted it, put in a good amount of soft, cream cheese. Just like I like my bagel. Perfect. And, handed to me with a smile. They have all the types of bagels - my fav is poppyseed - theirs have lots of seeds. The bagels are delicious!

For whatever reason they refused to serve me today. I waited in line but when I got to the counter no one would make eye contact with me, looked around me at customers behind me, and took their orders. I just walked out. No point in making a scene. Sad part is they are conveniently located within 5 minutes of my house and I loved their bagels. Oh well, from now on I'll have to drive further for better service.

We were turned on to Tommy's at a World Cup brunch party. Amazing is an understatement. They are not in the neighborhood but I was near on a Sunday morning and had to stop. Line was out the door but moving quickly. Better bagels than any place in the area and worth a bit of a ride to load up. Outstanding.

This place went from the best bagels in the area to the worst bagels in the area. I don't know why they changed the recipe of the bagels up. They taste different and the texture is different. The consistency is way off.. And the owner is cranky, nasty, and treats the customers like he doesn't care. Shame because Manalapan had the best bagels in NJ hands down, not anymore. Customers are not stupid.

Best Bagels I've ever had, and I've had a few. We're from around here, but visit from time to time, however is my second time stopping at Tommy's and I can say the quality is consistent. We ordered 15 assorted with veggie and plain cr cheeses. The service is attentive and courteous. We will certainly be back.

Picked up a bialy with whitefish salad and tomato this morning. This is what I got for $7, where is the whitefish? This is a disgrace and they should be embarrassed to do this to a paying customer.

Stopped here on my way to play golf at Knob Hill. It is literally down the street. They have biali's which are hard to find in a lot of places. I had to order one and I got it with strawberry cream cheese. Thy don't make their own strawberry cream cheese either when I ordered they got a container out of the fridge in the front. Some places do that and I never understand since it doesnt seem hard to make strawberry cc. FYI, they do not have a grill here so you can't order any egg sandwichs or anything like that. Kind of a bummer but all good. It is a small bagel shop but has a lot of other items. The biali was good not great. It tasted like your standard bagel with nothing popping out at me. The texture and the flavor were typical of a nj bagel spot. I also ordered some of the other bagels and they were pretty similar. They did have quick service which is always a plus. You can get in and out without worrying. 3 star place all the way.

I've been twice and I get the feeling each time their doing me favor not the other way around. That they don't need my business I asked a few patrons of the nearby shops and they're known for being rude. So the only thing I ever ordered was a chocolate croissant which wasn't amazing;(

Favorite local bagel shop! Always a line but it moves fast. Their fat bagels are so chewy yet so soft! Must try their French toast bagel on the weekend. You can just eat them plain! So delicious!

Very good! So far this is the best bagel place we've found in the area, including Princeton, East Windsor, Hightstown, etc. The whole wheat bagel is really good, I can't even tell it's whole wheat. I think the only thing that would make this place better would be if they had a few more cool flavors of cream cheese. While we're brainstorming, maybe a pimento cream cheese? :)

Decent bagels but if you want a specific bagel at 6:15 AM when they open at 6 forget it. No Egg everything, everything, multi grain or cinnamon raisin amongst others. Get up earlier. you run a bagel shop!

Tommy's isn't the same. The new owner is incredibly rude and is always messing up orders. He also charged me for someone else's order one time and was irritated with me as If it was my fault he messed up. He always seems irritated, especially when you ask him for cold cuts. If he doesn't want to cut them then he shouldn't sell them. Overall he's rude and incredibly unfriendly. Definitely not someone who should be working with the public. It's a hard pass on Tommy's!

The older guy is terrible. Im guessing the owner? Had an attitude the whole time. I was just here. My wife and I get bagels and drinks from Tommy's all the time. We love the homemade fresh bagels. We tell everyone about it and how amazing the bagels are. But the last couple of times we stopped in for bagels it's the same guy. He's always in a bad mood and always messes up atleast 1 thing I order. Wether he forgets the cream cheese or doesn't toast one of the bagels etc. As he was taking my payment he had a 'annoyed' look on his face and was subtly shaking his head in disappointment or he was just annoyed but it was very obvious. I couldn't figure out why. Even putting my stuff in the bag he seemed mad. You can't have ppl like that manning the front. People like myself start our day with food and coffee from mom and pop shops like Tommy's and if your in a bad mood it ruins everyone else's mood for the day. I hate bad reviews. But it had to be said.

Great bagles (and Bialies) freshly made. They only take cash so come prepared. Self serve coffee with a few different flavors. They open at 6:30am which is nice for us early risers. I am not partial to their Whitefish salad because is tastes like they add sugar or something to sweeten it. Best bagles in the area, but the staff seems to be miserable... Almost laughably.

I've had many New York bagels in my time, and I've got to say that Tommy's takes the cake as some of the best. I wasn't expecting much from a strip mall bagel joint in Manalapan, but when my Dad told me that this was his new go-to spot I knew it had to be good -- the man knows a thing or two about a bagel. On a Tuesday at 9 am it was poppin' off. You can definitely tell that lots of regulars hang out here. Luckily, we were able to snag the last table! My bagel was hot and perfectly doughy, and was so large that I was only able to finish half! The scallion cream cheese was flavorful and had just the right amount. I hate when bagel stores put on too much cream cheese, and the sandwich just turns into a mess. There is no grill so you can only order cold sandwiches, but I'm sure the epic bagel and cream cheese combo will have me coming back for more!

Wish I could give 10 stars! I've been going to Tommy's for over 20+ years; also a former Queens girls and rest assured these are the BEST bagels and the most AUTHENTIC Bialys around. They are NOT reconfigured bagels, they are pillowy crunchy oniony bialys. These bagels should be rated on their merit not because someone was accidentally shorted 1 or 2 bagels or because they don't have a grill like YOU think they should. IT'S a small long-standing BAGEL store; doesn't claim to be anything it's not. Tommy and the women have always treated my mom like family. I now travel far and past at least 3 local "bagel" joints to get to Tommy but it's not a hardship because they are the BEST bagels hands down.

Quite simply the very best bagels I've ever eaten!! The crispy outside, soft inside, incredible taste...seriously, calling these the world's best bagels wouldn't be an exaggeration! Even the cream cheese is fantastic, especially the one with lox. And the prices are super low. This place is an amazing find!

I came here with my friend to get bagels for our families and we went there knowing we had a big order. We get there and he said i can take whoever's next rudely and we didn't know who he was talking to because there was a guy in front of us. Then he starts pointing fingers saying "your next its ur turn", we go and order and my friend orders her bagel and he doesn't write down our order he is going in the back and making it. And every time we were saying our order he proceeded to leave and make our order without us even finishing our sentence. Which is taking so much more time to do then just writing it, My friend finished ordering her food and its my turn to order. I start saying my food and he rolls his eyes and says to me "if you're order is this big you should have just ordered on the phone" like hello if you just took our order all together like a normal person i would have no problem waiting for it. Its not like we even got so much food we each got 3 bagels with cream cheese. I personally love the bagels at this store but the service just is not it.

I've been here twice in the last few weeks. There are many places that are closer but we've been very impressed by both the size, quality and the service.

Truly the best bagels around! We went twice this weekend to grab a dozen bagels for take out. They are crispy and hard on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside (AKA the best kinds of bagels!). I've gone before and gotten prepared bagels with cream cheese and they've always been good as well. I've never had an egg sandwich from there and probably will try one soon-- however, last time I tried to order one (about a month ago or so), they said they were not using the grill because of COVID. I'm not sure if that is still a thing now. It's a little annoying that they are cash only but I'd still say they are worth it !!! Best bagels around for sure.

This place used to be the best with the previous owners, new management dont know the first thing about the bagel business, just winging it! Bagel quality is bad, Now just a typical basic bagel store that could be found anywhere, pretty sad, so close to home and now have to drive out for decent bagels, would give zero stars if I could, there are also kids working here, meaning under age and try to rip you off if you dont catch on. Not more I can say here, look elsewhere if you want quality bagels and service.

I thought Kossars in Manhattan had the best bialys, but no, it's tommys. I schlep multi dozens down to Florida for my neighbors. Their bagels are also terrific! Chewy, big, and very reasonably priced !

I love their bagels. Made fresh, warm, and extra fluffy !! (Just how I like my men ;) ). Anyway... i came back today after a few months. Ordered egg salad on a bagel, the number 12 (which is sliced chicken, pepperoni, lettuce, tomato, chipotle mayo and pepper Jack cheese). The number 12 hit the spot. I also tried their iced coffee which was pretty good. Ended up paying around $13-$14 which I think could've been a little cheaper, but cant do much about that. The place is also cash ONLY!! So make sure you have cash with you. The workers at the counter vary, but I dont expect much as long as they get my order right!!

Best bagels, anywhere. Period You literally can't find a more perfect bagel anywhere, not in NYC not in California, it simply doesn't compare. It's perfectly soft and bready on the inside while being crunchy and crisp on the outside. Awesome tuna salad, and lox spread as well. Seriously the best
