First time at this location. The service was great, as was the atmosphere. Filled in the morning with a couple of groups of older men laughing and joking with each other. The tacos were good. The flour tortillas are extra "light"...I liked them, just not sure how much. The barbacoa a la Mexicana was new to me, at least seeing it on a menu. It was flavorful, but I might've enjoyed a regular one more. The chorizo was great, but the bean and cheese w bacon could've used more bacon and MELTED cheese, and beans? Maybe the tortillas are just too big? I had to roll them like burritos vs the usual "V" hold... THE SALSA ROCKS! The verdict is still out on the tacos.... Gotta give another location a shot to make a final judgment. 🤔

hands-down one of my favorite spots for authentic Mexican food! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and served hot. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, perfect for any occasion. The servers are friendly and on point, and the manager keeps everything running smoothly. You can really feel the care and pride in every detail. Highly recommend! 🥳✨

Word of mouth is this Tommy’s on Wurzbach Pkwy is the go-to. My wife and I came to see and taste for ourselves. We were seated quick. Our server was nice (all the servers) we knew who our server was but all of them were very attentive to us and everyone we noticed. The music was at a good volume and the jams, a great mood! The manager very attentive and welcomed us very nice and warmly. The coffee is an absolute hug in a mug, and the freshly squeezed lemonade had me asking for seconds! A comfortable small space for a big delicious bite. Overall the cleanest Tommy’s (we recommend what we call a “Tommy’s Tour”-we have been to all of them) Saving the best for last hands down great food here a big shout out to the heart of the restaurant THE KITCHEN STAFF !!

Did not look like much from the outside and my first thoughts were it is a small place. Once inside we were greeted by a waitress and she let us know it was open seating. She quickly asked us what we wanted to drink and once back with the drinks and chips & red salsa, she then took our order. I noticed the corn chips were very good and found out they make them fresh in house. We ordered carne guisada and enchiladas. Both arrived in short time. Waitress also brought verde salsa. Everything was super delicious and having options to add either red salsa or salsa verde was choice. Very much enjoyed the service here and the excellent food. Place was clean and well lit. Small place with big flavors. Will definitely be back again!

Dallas in the house for the 4th of July weekend. My son brought us here and this food is very very delicious. Love homemade tortillas. Will definitely come back when visiting San Antonio.

Fast and friendly service and food here is really good. It’s always good to eat at Tommy’s and the flavor is the same at all the other locations.

This Tex-Mex is not even close to the finest. Added a bit of salt to help the taste, but it only made the salt taste bad. What a waste of calorie-intake. Only came here because my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant was closed for vacation. The place is clean and cute and service was good, but I didn’t even clean my plate because it was sadly such a disappointment.

Great tacos, amazing service, cozy atmosphere. The best carne guisada!! So glad they opened up one by my house!

Always consistent in both food and services. We eat breakfast here about once every other week and have not been disappointed.

This was a good place to eat. I have been to a Tommy's before but a different location. All in all very good. I had the cheese enchilada lunch special that came with a tea. Good rice and beans. Chile con carne was not the best, but was still pretty good. Good authentic Tex-mex option.

I can't talk up or recommend this place more. I order the food all the time many times it is just take out. My sister and I love this place and both our families do as well. My sister has her birthday in January and she is one of the people who doesn't like doing much for her birthday, but we have an agreement she gets to pick where I take her out at least once in the week of her birthday. When I asked her this time the Tommy's off Wurzbach Pkwy is less than a 5 min drive form her house so she picked Tommys for brunch. Of course me being her older brother knowing she likes her solitude, I invited all the primos (cousins) so we had a party of 9 for Tommy's. Let's talk about the service. I had called before and they did advise they would not be able to seat us until the whole party was there. We arrived and were only missing one person, Cousin Tony Jr., ALWAYS late; however, they sat us anyway and were the most gracious. My 7 year old is a talker and she was spoken to with the utmost respect as a little customer and made the wait staff laugh of course. We all ordered different plates and tacos, breakfast and lunch, and even some special orders and substitutions. We all got our food at the same time so no waiting for anyone or food getting cold. Our server was very attentive and never had an empty glass or cup. We even got the check and it was an easy process. The ambience is great. I went ahead and ordered the barbacoa and it is as savory as any place in San Antionio and the tortillas are very fluffy. All the food is extremely tasty and flavorful. I cannot recommend this place more. I know of some other locations that are not as pleasant as this one, but I recommend the drive it is worth it.

Great food that won't stress the wallet. The staff is very friendly, diligently checking at appropriate times whether anything is needed

They are slow even when the restaurant is not full. Any need to go orders over $10 require payment over the phone. Who wants to give out their credit card information over the phone? Or if you're driving, you have to fumble to get your credit card out. If I'm calling to place an order to go that is for convenience. I will just take my business elsewhere.

Great Food , Good Service. Clean atmosphere. Tortillas are freshly made, One of the best ways to judge a Restaurant is their Tortillas.

I was feeling under the weather and wanted some soup. The soup was great and a big portion! Was able to take some home and have it the next day when I was still under the weather. The servers were super helpful and gave me some foil to take the tortillas to-go. It gives a family vibe inside the restaurant, glad my Fiance brought me!

Ordered take out tacos. Their food is fabulous and my order is always ready on time. Couldn't ask for more!!

Chicken fajita nachos were ok. We also ordered chicken crispy tacos and they were not good. The chicken was dry and bland. Rice was blah. Refried beans were ok. I had eaten here once before and it was ok, but after this visit, I'll go elsewhere. The restaurant is open and clean. My kid thought the Tv was way too loud. Servers were friendly.

Best carne asada ever had. Restaurant rooms clean and amazing service. I would highly recommend if you want classic tex mex food by any means.

I have been a customer of Tommy's since they opened their Silicon location. I would say I eat there at least once a week. We are most assuredly regulars. So I was delighted to see that they opened a new location on Blanco and Wurzbach Pwy., sharing the Walmart parking lot, closer to my home. Tommy's food is decidedly not gourmet eats, but it is comfort food and pretty well prepared. On this cold winter day, I ordered a beef fajita taco and a country taco on Tommy's homemade corn tortillas. The country taco contained country sausage, chopped tomato, onion and chile. It was on the spicy side. The fajita had beef fajita, green peppers and onion. Both tacos were well seasoned. I enjoy Tommy's because they are very affordable, their food is tasty and their service has always been outstanding. They have become an SA legacy with about five locations through out the city. It a good place to visit for pleasant food and a cozy atmosphere.

First visit! Had chilaquiles plate and huevos a la mexicana plate! Chilaquiles were tasty and hot as were the papas and frijoles. Huevos were great with lots of tomatoes and onions and a few jalapeños. Tortillas tasted homemade; we tried both flour and the thick corn tortillas. Would have been great except for negligent waitress.

Food was so delicious. I went there on a Thursday with a friend and went back today ( Friday) with my husband. Get the Guisada enchiladas. You won't be disappointed

First time at Tommy's and I was a bit skeptical from the outside appearance. The full parking lot was a bit reassuring. You seat yourself and a waiter will come to you. I love the fact that drinks are served in large styrofoam cups, easy to take it to go, and big red is highly advertised. I got the taco with barbacoa and migas. It was good! I don't recall the name of it but it's under the "popular" list. The green sauce is already at the table, and for those of you who don't like spice- go easy. The service was ok other than a mistake of being charged for cheese on a taco that already is served with cheese. We tried ti get it taken off but we're told by our waiter that she would have to pay out of pocket for it. I don't agree with that management style so we gladly paid. I would return. The place is really clean with a quiet atmosphere.

I thought I had done a review I. The past, but this is our top five places for tacos of all time in the history of forever! And in 2021 they won best tacos in San Antonio. I don't think they serve beer. But the sweet ice tea is badass. Now out of all the tacos they have the one to rule them all would be the guisado con cheese, as the waitress would say. I alternate one of those with a barbacoa but the papa con chorizo slaps too. My kids plea and beg ever weekend for the bean and cheese. Now they do have a secret menu item it's called the Taco de Nalga. If you feeling a bit adventurous just ask for this one.

First time at this newly opened Tommys on Wurzbach, by Walmart. Wife had menudo, huge pieces of meat, needed knife to cut in bite size. She didn't like. They did remove from bill. I had migas plate. Chips in the migas were soggy, no crunch. Egg was rubbery , congealed and old. Like it was premade. Sitting in pan. Definitely not fresh made. Another table had chilaquiles and that looked fresh. Next time will order eggs i know they have to make fresh. Barbacoa was very good. Tortillas homemade. Will try again, but with so many other Mexican restaurants around this same area serving fresh eggs, we'll see.

Big Red and barbacoa is real. Got the Fiesta medals as a badge of honor.

Love the addition to the neighborhood. It's close and very convenient. Now the food: I had two 2 chorizo and Egg tacos and my wife had the barbaco taco and they all tasted so WONDERFUL-the flour tortillas were homemade and deliciously hot. I had a sweet tea and it was just perfect! The restaurant isn't too big but there was not a wait. The restaurant is new so it's very clean and bright. The tables are close but you're not on top of everyone. I pass the restaurant every morning on my way to work and now I'll stop by to pick up a taco on the way in to work. The prices are great! We would frequent another small local Mexican restaurant but 4 tacos would run us $27 with 2 drinks and it was getting too expensive so we were happy to find this new addition. Our bill at Tommys, where we had 3 tacos and 2 drinks our bill was $15. Not too bad! We will certainly be back and this will be our new go to Mexican restaurant.

order a guided a plate and it was delivered like this with no carne guisada literally looks like they played in my food and there is one piece of meat smh rice is soaked in gravy and cheese DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY FROM HERE!! Go inside and pick up your food that way they don't screw you over!!

Great barbacoa, my favorite green hot sauce in town and refreshing iced tea! I really like the flavor of their breakfast sausage patty with egg and cheese on a flour taco!

Daniella was our waitress and she was amazing. very attentive and super amazing. brought our food out very quickly and always had new drinks for us when we were empt. great service Daniella.

No frills comfort food that tastes great at a fair price. Tommy's has become a weekend breakfast spot and weekday breakfast taco pick up spot. We have not done lunch yet at Tommy's, but love the Migas plate and the Chilaquiles plate and the Barbacoa. The tortillas are delicious and we are working our way through the various breakfast tacos, but have enjoyed every one we have tried. Good sized portions and consistent service make Tommy's a hit for us.

The 5 "Tommy's" stores serve food that cannot be topped in SATX (Tex-Mex Mecca). The newest location at Blanco & Wurzbach is superbly staffed. April, Carla, Daniella, Jeannette and Karen are cheerful, efficient and professional. Congratulations on hiring and retaining such employees. Kathy & Tom Roberts

Terrible customer service. I was shorted 1 taco and given 2 random tacos. I call and talk to the manager. She tells me I need to drive all the way back with the whole bag of tacos to make sure (basically calling me a liar). After talking she then at one point tells me to send her a picture of my taco order. Never been told to do that in my life. I'm not going to nickel and dime over a bean and cheese. Overall she doesn't know how to be a manager and handle these type of situations. Lost me as a customer. Thanks for nothing.

Tommy's is always great food and good vibes. Love their breakfast tacos and sweet tea. Wish they were open for dinner.

When I first walked in I was greeted and advice to sit wherever ide like the only thing is that the lady had to remind the other lady I was sitting on a table after being there for about seven minutes which is okay ,maybe the waiter didn't see me after that the customer service was so excellent best customer service I can say better than chick fila that should say something I give this place 5 stars for service and clean restaurant and food
