Denver’s Best Sports Bars | Eater Denver

"Just steps from Coors Field in McGregor Square, the Denver location of Tom’s is obviously a Rockies HQ. But with more than 150 screens of varying sizes adorning 20,000 square feet of space (and app-enabled audio at every table), there really isn’t a sports fan it doesn’t accommodate while serving up beers in 40-ounce steins and game-friendly grub galore: Think pickle-brined fried chicken, prime-rib dips, and bacon mac and cheese. As if that weren’t enough, it’s home to three simulator bays, which guests can book to play virtual games of golf and Zombie Dodgeball on yet more screens." - Ruth Tobias

Google
The wings sucked and the $8 fries came with an egregiously little amount. The poke bowl came with rice that had been sitting out for what must have been a long time with fishy tasting tuna. The avocado in the poke bowl also looked very gross. The loaded fries were also a laughably small amount. Over priced food. If you want to watch a game here and grab a drink you will probably like the place. If you’re coming here wanting to eat good food and get a decent portion for the cost, not the right spot.

Google
We saw the 7th game of the OKC/Pacers game here, so that is the context. Very busy, very noisy, but to be expected. There were a few available tables that needed to be cleaned but we were told nothing was available and they were not taking names for tables that became available. Made no sense - particularly as others would just walk in and hover over tables to be cleaned, trying to scoop them up before others who might be waiting. Crazy system. The two greeters were useless. As for the food, not bad at all for sports bar food. Chicken tenders were great, and the birria tacos were fabulous (but not the side sauce). Pot stickers were good. Cheesecake was only choice for dessert and tasted like it came out of a box. Waitstaff, bar tenders and kitchen did great job given crowd - props to them all!! Missing stars in this review is all because of the seating system.

I came in before a Rockies game. Very busy, bathroom lines were long. I had a Mango Smash Bourbon cocktail and the prime rib dip sandwich with tots. Both were pretty good.

Update 8/2025 : daily happy hour seems to have been changed to no happy hour if the Rockies are playing in town. So keep that in mind Original Awesome place to watch sports. Lots of tvs. Love that they feature WWE events. And cool that they have a happy hour even on Saturdays. Really good tenders with the Nashville hot sauce on the side. Got the wings too and they were decent. Only thing that knocked a star off was them trying to sneak in an extra charge on the happy hour drinks so definitely keep an eye on your receipt. ($14 x 4 = $56 not $64 lol)

I had an amazing experience at Tom’s Watch Bar, and a huge part of that was thanks to Daisy. From the moment we were seated, she was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Daisy made great recommendations, checked in regularly without being intrusive, and handled everything with professionalism and a smile. Her energy really elevated the entire experience. If you’re visiting Tom’s, I highly recommend asking for Daisy—you won’t be disappointed!

Google
Ella was absolutely amazing! Her customer service and positive attitude stood out from the moment we sat down. She was friendly, attentive, and brought such great energy to our table—it truly made our night during the UFC fights. You could tell she genuinely enjoys what she does, and it made the whole experience that much better. Big shoutout to Ella for making the night unforgettable!

Google
I don’t usually write reviews, but Ella at Tom’s Watch Bar absolutely deserves the spotlight. From the moment we sat down, she was warm, attentive, and on top of everything without ever being overbearing. She somehow balanced being incredibly efficient while still making us feel like we were her top priority—even though the place was packed! She had great menu recommendations, kept our drinks full, and made the whole experience feel personal and fun. Her energy is infectious, and she clearly takes pride in what she does. Honestly, she’s the kind of server that turns a good night into a great one. If you go to Tom’s Watch Bar, ask for Ella. You won’t be disappointed! Also just to add to this review, she is STUNNING?!?!?

Google
Honestly not super impressed with the wings. I asked for them extra crispy and they were just cooked normally. They were way over-sauced. I was expecting a more unique experience but this felt like a Buffalo Wild Wings. I only ate a third of the wings and left to find better food. The bartender was nice and the service was prompt.

Yelp
We stopped by Tom's to watch the ufc fights. No cover charge which was nice. This was one of the cooler sport bars. The amount of TVs was insane. Would love to watch football here on Sundays. This might be the only place I've ever seen sell a 40 oz draft beer. Tried the chicken tenders and they were some of the best I've ever had. Hand breaded, crispy, and seasoned perfected. The loaded fries are a must try. The queso that comes on it is amazing. Must go to while in Denver.

Yelp
We went for a night walk at Mac Gregor square downtown Denver . It was beautiful. Lots of restaurants , sports bar and cafe. The Coor's stadium beside the square. The area was clean and lots of street lights. Nice for a night stroll Then went for a drink at Tom's ordered craft beer and Thai chicken wings. Really tender and juicy Service was great.

Yelp
Fun environment to go pre games or to watch sports. Waitresses are hard to track down. The food & drinks are decent. If the upstairs is blocked off for an event, there are not enough bathrooms downstairs to accommodate all the patrons. Great specials.

Yelp
When I have friends coming into town for any sporting event, we always try to go to Tom's watch bar as the TVs, drinks and service are perfect for game time.

Yelp
Came here on a busy Friday night to watch a football game. I was so worried that we wouldn't have a place to sit but the hostess made it work for 7 people! She was a rockstar. Bojanna was our waitress, and she was very on top of it! Very busy day and she made sure that we were taken care of. The nachos were top tier and definitely could feed two or three people. The vibe of the bar was very loud and energetic. It was fun to see so many UT fans in one place. (even though we lost lol) I would be happy to come back here and highly recommended as it is in a great location. Although parking may be a challenge, we took Uber. Overall, 4.5/5 stars

Yelp
Tom's Watch Bar has become one of my favourite spots. McGregor Square in general has become a favourite of mine, but Tom's Watch Bar specifically has been my most visited place in McGregor Square. I've tried so many things on the menu from the tacos to the potstickers to the wings and burgers. And I can faithfully say that every single thing I've ever eaten here has been good. They also make a mean tequila mule. The staff is always super pleasant and very hospitable. Shoutout to our server, Jessica. I just know that whenever I come here it'll always be consistent and that's what I genuinely appreciate about this place. I haven't tried the golf simulator as of yet, but that is on my list of things to do. There are TVs everywhere, so if there is a good matchup for any sporting event, be prepared for it to be a bit busy. The downstairs section is a little bit busier than the upstairs so if you're not looking to be succumbed to the chaos of sports fans everywhere, then ask for a table upstairs.

Yelp
Attended a corporate event which closed the whole facility, great event, wonderful layout, food and service. Bars and seating available for about 1000, bar selections vary between floors, food set up for catering was really good, easy access for all with very little time lining up and waiting. Outdoor patio and balcony large enough for about 150 Only slight grumble was the restrooms which were a longish walk into the ajoining office space. Unique photo ops. Only

Yelp
You come here for the beer and atmosphere. Food is.... just ok. Popped in for the last Rockies game of the season and the place was packed in no time (NFL games). Nachos were so-so. Fried Chicken sandwhich was the same. How can any reputable place put a cold slice of cheese on a fried sandwhich? Fried were "seasoned" but with way too much pepper. Come here for the location and crowd, not the food.

Yelp
Came here for the football games last Sunday. The vibes are good and the TV selection was great. We ordered apps and drinks at the bar. Service was also good but I found the prices to be really high. They don't advertise prices in the drink menu either so it's all a surprise. For food, we went with the chicken finger platter which was $21... kinda crazy but it was a pretty good portion. The fingers had a good amount of meat and did taste fresh. Needed the ranch we requested though. The fries could have been good... liked that they were skinny and seasoned but they were old. Kinda soggy and tasted like they had been sitting under a lamp. We also got the fried pickles, I only had one but pretty standard. Ranch was good. Overall, good drink selection, good tv spot for sports but def over priced for a sports bar.
google avatar

Paul G.

Yelp
Service was good and the server was nice...but yikes! Our group of seven had nine "well" drinks, three apps (cheese curds, nachos and fried pickles) and a root beer....$280 with tip! That is absolutely bonkers and I will avoid Tom's in the future for this reason. Everyone should be aware of this expense expectation.

Yelp
Are you looking for the ultimate sports haven in Denver? Look no further than Tom's Watch Bar! With multiple TVs showing all your favorite teams, you'll never miss a game. We were ready to pair our favorite sports moments with Tom's delicious food and drinks. We arrived and were sat in the main dining room. There were TVs throughout the bar so no matter where we sat, each of us had clear views of the game. Cory our server had great recommendations and was attentive to the table. Tom's had several beers on tap and in bottles & cans. The Blue Moon Belgian White was an American Ale from Golden, CO. The Blue Moon was a light, refreshing beer with some citrus. We had some cocktails to get our game buzz going. The Party Starter was made with a double dose of Tom's 'Rita with hibiscus, bombed with a Red Bull® Red Edition. The Espresso Martini was made with Absolut Vanilia Vodka and coffee shaken with coffee liqueur. The Blue Crus was made with Cruzan Lime Rum and Sprite mixed with Blue Raspberry, served with lime & a cherry. The Spinach Artichoke Dip was a creamy blend of spinach, artichokes, and cheese, served with fresh tortilla chips. Tom's Famous Prime Rib Dip was made with shaved prime rib, Havarti cheese, and horseradish cream on a toasted brioche roll with a side of demi-glace & served with a choice of seasoned fries or tots. This sandwich was delicious. The shaved prime rib had a rich, beefy taste complemented by the creamy texture and a mild, buttery flavor of the Havarti. The horseradish cream brought a great sharp, sinus-clearing tang that cut through the richness of the meat & cheese. This sandwich was delicious. The Crispy Chicken & Cornbread Pancake was made with sweet cornbread pancake topped with premium hand-battered chicken tenders, served with honey butter and maple syrup. The cornbread pancake provided a sweet base to the savory, crispy chick tenders. The Jumbo Buffalo Wings were 8 jumbo wings served with fresh carrots, celery, and choice of ranch or blue cheese. The wings were large & generously coated in spicy, tangy buffalo sauce.

Yelp
The waitress was good. But when we got our fried pickle appetizer we had to send it back because it wasn't fully cooked, you could still see on the batter on them. Were told we were getting a fresh batch and never did...Then I ordered wings and they told me they ran out of ranch. I still got the ranch so that was weird, but yay. Anyways, a burger meal, wings entree, mocktail, and Red Bull drink cost $80+ not impressed

Yelp
Came to Tom's for lunch and had a pretty good meal. Originally, we were intrigued by the injectable donuts but sadly it wasn't on the menu. We ultimately decided to share the famed spinach and artichoke dip and the chicken tenders and cornbread pancake. Between the two, the cornbread pancake was by far the tastiest and most unique part of the meal. The cornbread was fluffy and buttery. The chicken tenders atop were also pretty good. They were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The dip came with tortilla chips that seemed freshly fried. The dip, itself, was a little too creamy and heavy. I think a little bit of acid on the dish would have gone a long way. We sat right at the bar which offers you a wide feature of sports to watch. Because it was daytime though, it eventually got to the weird parts of sports and there was a period of time where we were being shown extremely niche sport clips....definitely felt like staff could have intervened and pick some more....tasteful options even if they were replays. Additionally, service was a bit of a miss during lunch. Our waiter went MIA twice but luckily we were pretty fluid with our plans while exploring Denver so the delays weren't too bad.

Yelp
Terrible advertising, had an ad saying they would be doing a love island watch party at 9, they turned us away at the bar

Yelp
A few friends and I were in Denver for the weekend and the Rockies were playing so we decided to go here to watch the game. We were seated upstairs, where all the nearby television stations were turned to various soccer and college football games (it was a Friday night). We asked the host who seated us if it would be possible to switch the closest TV to the baseball game and they said yes. However, it wasn't changed by the time our waitress came, so we politely asked again. Same positive response, but still no change in channel. Finally, I went up the bar to ask them and that's when it was finally changed. However the sound system continued to play the audio from one of the football games, quite loudly. Important notes to make: we were the only party seated in the area and the Rockies game was the only game on any TV that was actually being played in or near Denver. Overall, it was just a loud and strange environment with poor service, especially considering this is a watch bar. As for the food, we ordered nachos with birria beef to share and they were good. Nothing special, but decent. We ordered them with jalapeños on the side because one member of our party didn't want them, but they came with them anyway and we just had to pick them off. This wasn't a big problem for us, but would make me think twice before bringing someone with allergies or real dietary restrictions here. Our entrees were decent, but nothing to write home about. My friend thought the wings were very spicy, but otherwise good. The burger was fine. The garlic parmesan fries were extremely salty and quite garlicky but without a depth of flavor (as if they were tossed in garlic salt from the grocery store). And the prime rib dip sandwich was ok, but had large chunks of fat in it and the horseradish was barely noticeable.

Yelp
This is your local sports bar in the heart of sports alley in downtown Denver across from Coors field. I have been frequenting McGregor Square to watch Broncos games, All-Star Baseball Homerun contest etc. Finally one day I dropped in here and never have been disappointed with the energy. This place is always packed during all MMA, Basketball, Football, Base all, etc. The last time was all the NCAA Women's Basketball tournament of 2024. The drinks are always flowing. The food is a great spread and variety. My favorite hands down is their French Dip sandwich, just straight . There is plenty of seating downstairs, upstairs and outside patio in McGregor Square. Just see the hostesses and they will get you situated fast. Service most days is great too. If you want a sports bar, that has good food and great drinks with a nice mix of people from young to old this is the spot.
google avatar

Tom S.

Yelp
In town for the NCAA Men's basketball tournament we always look for someplace to sit, drink, eat and watch all of the second day of games. Researched and found Tom's. Food was good, as were the drinks. Service was great.
google avatar

Jeff M.

Yelp
Wings were ok but not great. The salad was a good size and the dressing was good. They were a decent size though. Place seemed really cool to watch a game and hang out. The server appeared to be overwhelmed. We had to track him down multiple times. He failed to give us utensils and napkins and we had to take them off another table near us.
google avatar

Alex N.

Yelp
Toms was the spot to go for the Nuggets game. Solid bar food, great support from the fans, and our server, Oscar, was great. The proper spot for game day!
google avatar

G R.

Yelp
Great place for watching sports. In town for the first and second round of March Madness and decided to hit this place. If ya want sports, TVs galore, no problem there. The bartenders are very friendly. Food was really good. I had the Nashville chicken tenders on the cornmeal pancake. Chicken was nice and tender, sauce was spicy and what I was hoping for. The cornmeal pancake has probably ruined me for regular pancakes from now on. It was amazing. So good! As far as atmosphere, friendly and comfortable would be a good description.
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
Food and drink quality for the cost is atrocious. Red Bull cocktail is $25. Fish and Chips is $22 and includes frozen fish triangles that I used to get served in the elementary school cafeteria. TV setup is great but zero chance I would come again based on this experience.
google avatar

Jeremy H.

Yelp
Alisha and Nick are amazing bar tenders. Great food, great atmosphere, great service.

Yelp
What you would expect from sports bar food. Nice staff and semi outdoor space. Plus they have Guinness!

Yelp
Good sports bar. If you're looking for beer & sports bar food, great spot to go downtown.

Yelp
We came by to watch a Nuggets game. It was so disturbingly loud that we almost left. We had a group of 4 and everybody had a headache from the noise and had lost their voice from needing to talk so loudly within about 15 minutes. Felt like we were at a club. The environment is fun but the prices are high. We got two Coors Lights, which were apparently each $1 off. When we got the bill, it was over $20. It's a fun spot, but not $10+ dollars for "cheap" beer fun!
google avatar

Bryan W.

Yelp
We visited Tom's for a WWE special event so we knew it would be packed and it was. We were seated fast, smack dab in the middle of the action and had a perfect view of the screens. We were served fast and checked on by our server fairly despite the packed house. We ordered an assortment of different shareable appetizers, including a large order of bbq wings. The wings were by far the tastiest and would order them again, the other options were lacking flavor. They kept the crowd entertained with giveaways & it was a lively environment. If I'm in the area again and need to catch a game, this would definitely be an intriguing option for us.
google avatar

Jessica J.

Yelp
Came here to watch the UFC fight and it was definitely the place to be. We share lots of appetizers and drinks while watching the fights. The fried pickles were by far the best I've ever had. The calamari was well cooked and had a nice crisp batter. The deep dish nachos were good but did come out a little cold and needed more toppings but our waiter brought us more cheese and jalapeños to fix them up. The beer selection is great lots of local Colorado beer options on tap. The place was clean and our waiter was fantastic. We appreciated that we were able to sit there and watch all 5 fights and didn't feel rushed or like we over stayed our welcome. Would love to come back here and try some actual dishes they burgers and sandwiches looked delicious and who doesn't love tatter tots.

Yelp
Visiting Denver and stopped in on a Friday night... It was so fun with multiple levels and activities. Virtual golf, table top shuffle board, pool, lots of big tv screens or just chill in a gondola and enjoy quiet conversation. It was a snowy night and we didn't go outside but they have plenty of seating and window views of the courtyard and viewing of sports events on the projector when available. Staff was friendly and attentive and didn't mind at all that we wanted to taste all the beers before we ordered! Great vibe, great location, great beers!
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
We had an hour before the baseball game started and happened across Tom's Watch Bar. Wow! What a great place to drink a beer, watch a game on a HUGE screen, and people watch. We got a nice IPA beer from Tom's and took it out to the plaza area. Tom's was packed. It's such a fun sports bar. The plaza area was something really unique. Lots of tables and the hugest non-stadium sports-bar-like TV that I've seen. This is a great place to gather before a game. Great experience.

My favorite place in Denver to watch games!! Ton of TVs, ample seating, great atmosphere! In the heart of downtown.

Yelp
My honest review is that this is ranked in the top 3 worst foods I've ever had. Here is my experience. We went in on a Sunday on a day that both the Broncos and Rockies were playing, so it was expected to be jammed packed in there. What I found interesting though was that when we entered, along with about 5 other families, they told us there is no more seating and walked away. I expected this to follow with, "I can add you to the waiting list," but it was almost as if they were not going to sit anymore period. We proceeded to walk upstairs where they said was open seating. We found a table but we were unable to sit in it because it seated 4 and not 2, which I understand. She found us a high top and we were seated but the table was rocking the entire times. Our server was a doll. She was kind, professional, and I know she was busting her butt making sure she took care of everyone so I knew it would be a hot minute before we got anything. We ordered the pineapple fritz, a beer, chips and queso, Korean BBQ wings and the harvest salad. The pineapple drink had way too much ginger. The queso and wings came out approximately 30 minutes after we ordered. The queso was ice cold so I asked our server if it can be reheated. She said she would send me another one. The one one arrived, and it was also cold. I didn't say anything after that. The wings were giving raw vibes. There was no crisp to them at all, they were cold, the skin was soggy and tasted raw, and the inside didn't look fully cooked. I couldn't eat them at all but I didn't want to complain. After about 20 minutes my husband still didn't get his salad. The server then comes and says "we are out of vinaigrette, did you want blue cheese or ranch instead?" We said no and asked that it just be removed. Just minutes later a lady comes with the salad and the vinaigrette, which to be honest was about the only good thing there. We left as soon as we could get out of there and realized it was the the biggest wast of money. I assume that with all these great reviews, we unfortunately just happen to try them on one of their busiest days and got queso that they never even bothered to heat up and half cooked and rushed wings. I will never go back.

Yelp
Tom's, as a yelp elite I review many restaurants and yours is great, but you took the best things foodies like off the menu: Sauce flight Injectable doughnuts Please bring them back! Everything you serve now is excellent, don't get me wrong, but bring back the things we want, I can't see why you would remove them, doesn't seem like much prep work.

Yelp
A very weak 3 stars. Went there before a baseball game. Great location, right across the street from Coors Field. When we walked in the hostess was having a long conversation with a guest, just for the fun of it while we waited to check in and be seated. No apology for ignoring us. Bad form. The rest of the staff was great. The service was excellent. Lots of teamwork in action. I was super hungry for a good burger, hadn't had one in a while. I ordered the Bacon Avocado Cheeseburger. $19. What a huge disappointment. The bun was cold and not soft. It was supposed to be toasted. Way to ruin a burger right from the start. The meat was no better than you'd get at a fast food place, the bacon wasn't cooked well, and the avocado was just scooped on. Wait, it gets worse, it was dry and tasteless. A bad burger all around. Just plain bad. Boo on the burger!! My buddy had a California Chicken Club. They didn't toast the bun on that one either. Maybe the toaster was broken. I should have run to Wal-Mart and picked one up for them. I had "garlic" fries as my side. They should be called garlic-free fries because there wasn't even a trace of garlic on them. They were OK fries though. Just not garlic fries. I will certainly not return, but it's a cool place, maybe that's why they don't heat the buns because everything is cool there! Also, I noticed my shirt sleeve was wet and saw that water was leaking on it from a pipe or a window. Lots of water was puddled up beside my seat. Oh well, Tom. Swing and a miss this time, but I'm sure with just a little improvement on the food, a home run will be a regular occurrence.

Yelp
We love coming here to watch sporting events! They always have games or fights on along with good sound, food and adult beverages! We are excited to visit once football starts back up! Great sports bar!

Yelp
I had the best French dip sandwich ever and that's saying a lot. I'm a foodie and fairly picky. Several TVs watching your Olympics and golf. I liked one tv that was showing old music videos. Very close to Coors Field.

Yelp
Guadalupe, help us with our meal choices. Excellent everything tasted delicious and I don't think I would've ordered what I did and love it as much as I did she helped me.

Yelp
Good place to watch games but it is very loud and not particularly good food/drinks or service. Often, the servers have so many tables they are not able to come by frequently.

A mini chain based here in Denver, Tom's is a personal favorite for American bar food done consistently well. The Denver airport location (RIP) and Tom's on the Vegas strip are faves. This is the nicest location I've seen with high ceilings and huge picture windows looking out onto the pedestrian-intensive streets between Coors Field and Union Station. Though fairly quiet on a sunny Saturday during lunch, I can imagine that this place is packed on game days.  I ordered the chicken tenders with the $3 upgrade to loaded tots. The four tenders were enormous and breaded in a crisp, thick crust -- these may have been fried a bit past just right but were still surprisingly tender and moist. I picked up a faint taste of pickles, making me wonder if they're pickle juice brined perhaps. Who knows? The loaded tots were yummy. Crisp and fried to order, served with good cheese sauce and topped with a tiny bit of crisp bacon and scallions. They layered the tots thoughtfully to maximize the saucy cheesy goodness while still protecting the crunch of the tots. I like Tom's because even though it's really a dressed up sports bar, the food is put together with care. I have liked everything I've eaten here -- and that's s lot of things lol. Wish they'd expand to my hometown!

Yelp
This was recommended as one of the best locations to watch a game in Denver. The NBA Playoffs were on and we made it inside to see a Nuggets game. I loved the location of this bar. It is right near all the stadiums and easy access from Union Station. You can even walk right outside McGregor Square and catch a game on the big screen. We were able to walk in and sit at the bar area on the second floor. This place is massive with three floors and a great view. They had TVs everywhere showing all the games. The server was able to come over and give us the top food and drink choices. Luckily I saw online you can register for their email list and they give you a $1 drink special. I ordered an old fashioned and their chicken sandwich. The drink was very strong and hit me quickly. They definitely don't hold back on the liquor here. The sandwich was tasty and the french fries were amazing. This place is a great location to watch a game and hang out before going out. Prices here are expensive for the food options. You are basically paying for the location and the views. I enjoyed my meal here and would love to come back again next time I am in town.

Yelp
great experience, Valerie was the most clutch server i've had in a long time - she was reading my mind every time, before I could ask her for something she was on it. Be back for the FBS finals

Yelp
We had the tuna stack, tasteless and over priced for what you get. $7.50 would be an appropriate price point. Cheese curds were average, and wings were under-seasoned. Not sure if the queso had water in it, definitely wasn't cheese. Good for watching football if you get in early enough, but not worth it on the food side!
