The Best Burgers In DC - Washington DC - The Infatuation

"You gave up McDonald’s ages ago (except for the occasional after-club snack), so you haven’t had a quarter pounder with cheese in a while. Enter Tom’s Watch Bar—a sports bar so deep down the rabbit hole that it has its own sports channel playing events you’ve probably never heard of. The All-American burger comes with the basics: gooey American cheese, mustard, ketchup, and pickles on a buttery brioche bun. And unlike that #3 you’ve been craving, the juicy patty is made of actual beef. It’s a burger that’s looking to win you over with its easygoing, down home nature, not to schmooze you with its good looks and fancy toppings. Pair it with the tater tots and a brew while you watch ear pull and slippery stairs on the screen." - tristiana hinton, omnia saed

We stopped here for a quick brunch on a weekend and had an amazing time. The team was nice and friendly, amazing hostesses. For our food, their recommendations were just spot on. Food was nice, fresh, and cooked to perfection, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Atmosphere is lovely... would be a fabulous place to watch the game someday All in all, we had a really nice time, and I would highly recommend Tom's watch Bar if you are in / around the harbour

Google
Tom's National Harbor Restaurant has a lively atmosphere with plenty of sports TVs and ample dining space, making it inviting as we walked in. However, our experience was disappointing. While our server was prompt and friendly, the food fell short of expectations. The pineapple ginger fizz cocktail, which promised fresh pineapple juice, was overly sweet, as if it had been doused in sugar instead. The watermelon drink was similarly unrefreshing, leaving us barely able to enjoy a sip. The hummus platter featured cold hummus and vegetables that appeared stale, while the queso chips were just okay but overly salty. Overall, despite the potential of the venue, the food quality was lackluster, and we left feeling it wasn't worth a return visit.

Google
Tom’s Watch Bar is the ultimate spot for sports fans! The energy here is unmatched with massive screens everywhere, great food, and an awesome crowd. But what really made the experience unforgettable was Sunni, our bartender. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knew the drink menu inside and out. His positive vibe made you feel welcome, and his service was on point the entire time. If you’re heading to Tom’s, definitely grab a seat at the bar and hope Sunni’s working. He takes the whole experience up a notch. Highly recommended.

Google
This place is freaking huge! There's like 80 tvs so you will not miss any sporting event you came here to watch! Menu isn't vast so I'm suspecting the few things that they make will be very delicious but i can't say i only had the lobster, shrimps tacos and they were okay not good nor really good. So if i came back it'll be for the bar atmosphere and maybe the drinks but my hopes of really great food isn't going to be satisfied here from my first taste😕

Google
A gigantic sports bar in the middle of National Harbor. Wings, salad, prime rib sandwich, and mozzarella curds for my wife, daughter, and I. My wife had a lavender martini, which was really good, and I, 22oz of cold Blue Moon perfection. Worth the visit.

Google
Luke is awesome! Great service, great recommendations and fun atmosphere! I had the cornbread pancakes and chicken strips (YUM), my friends had the prime rib sandwiches! Definitely recommend this place for a great night watching sports, eating great food and getting fantastic service!

Google
Shout out to my boy Taylor! Taylor was awesome! From the second we sat down, Taylor made us feel right at home with a big smile and great energy. The drinks were spot on—super tasty and exactly what we wanted. Taylor knew the menu inside out and gave us some great suggestions we wouldn’t have tried otherwise. The service was quick and friendly all night, and Taylor checked in just enough to make sure we had everything we needed without hovering. The vibe at the bar was fun and relaxed, and a lot of that was thanks to Taylor’s personality. We had a great time and will definitely be back. Taylor made our night!

Google
Tom’s Watch Bar is the ultimate place to watch a game, grab great food, and soak in the harbor vibe. The atmosphere is electric with massive screens everywhere—there’s not a bad seat in the house! Our server, Taylor, was absolutely amazing, friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. The food came out fresh and delicious (highly recommend the wings), and the drinks were perfectly mixed and ice cold. Whether you’re here for sports, happy hour, or just a fun night out, Tom’s delivers every time. Can’t wait to come back!

Yelp
First time in the Oxon Hill area, and Tom's Sports Bar made a great impression! The vibe was energetic and inviting -- a great place to relax and catch the game. We sat at the bar, and our bartender, Lindsey, was phenomenal! Super friendly, attentive, and made us feel like regulars from the moment we walked in. She went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, with great drink recommendations and quick service. Definitely a go-to spot if you're in the area. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Tried Tom's at The National Harbor over the weekend. Typical bar food that tasted well. The service was good and the bar is very spacious. Looks to be the place to go to for sporting events. They have a patio and open window seating.
google avatar

Nneka W.

Yelp
Won't be back. I'm not a huge sports person but I can sit through a game or fight if the food is good. The food was well below average and not because it was bar food. If you there just for the fight/game, loud energy and a beer, you may enjoy it. It definitely looked like a sports bar, TVs everywhere. If there is a big fight or game, it gives off club/sports bar vibe. They'll charge at the door and super territorial about tables, turn off. Service was fine, nothing special.
google avatar

Jesse B.

Yelp
Service was essentially no -existent. Saturdays afternoon, sat at the bar - 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me and brought a menu, then 15 minutes later asked what I was ordering. Drink showed up 10 minutes after that. The food was good; prime rib sandwich was solid, fries were just ok. Watched about 8 different people sit down then just walk out after no one acknowledged them at the bar.

Yelp
I've been here quite a few times now and I am always satisfied with the level of customer service received. The food has made some really great improvements in quality and taste. I love the artichoke dip! Also, the drinks are usually very good and I like the variety of beer options. This is a great place to come and watch sports as they have tons of TVs and plenty of tables to sit.

Yelp
We had a party of 20 and the service was amazing! The food was hot and the drinks were cold! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Nessa R.

Yelp
On a mission to visit all the restaurants at the National Harbor, this was one of my latest stops. I'm a sports fanatic, by default. When I need to watch certain games my honey always knows who has the best T.V.'s. He's a bit of a sports junkie too. This was our stop before our Saturday date night. Service was great! Drinks were great! Definitely a Bar, dress down! Would recommend for any sports enthusiasts!

Yelp
Love love love Tom's! I came here on a Sunday night during football season, which I cannot think of a better time to go. Plenty of TVs, entertainment and a friendly staff. We ordered the spinach seafood dip that I would 100% get again, along with wings that were so good, they didn't make it to the review! To keep this review as straight forward as possible, I loved my time and food at Tom's. Bar seating, high-top seating, low-top seating, all of the angles and options to view and choose between. If you're looking for a nice atmosphere for the sports duration, and additionally, have the option to walk around later after the meal, Tom's is a great place to go!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday during NFL season. The place was packed but we're able to get a table for two. The atmosphere was good with a fun buzz and cheering for teams. Service was very slow, ordering just a beer and an app and we were there about 90 minutes. A medium (22oz?) Domestic beer was around $12, which I found absurd, even for the area. The nachos were just ok. The chips were incredibly salty and they put the majority of the quest on the bottom of the pan. We quickly ran out of meat as a topping and had chips left over at the end with no toppings. I'd come back only for the purpose of watching a game with friends.
google avatar

Joelle M.

Yelp
If you don't mind a 4% charge on top of high priced food n drinks with no Thursday night football specials, then it's a place for you. 22oz beer $12 but actually $13.49. Prime Rib sandwich was delicious and piled high with medium meat-I couldn't figure out if it was supposed to be a cold or warm sandwich ( some bites were cold), burger was with cheese and pickles. Tots were seasoned good. The place has a lot of tv's, friendly staff n many choices of stuff to watch. Don't validate parking. A casual night out was $80 .

Alysa A.

Yelp
Zero stars. This place is totally discriminatory for patrons with disabilities or families with kids who sit in high chairs. All there tables are bar height. Definitely not recommend!! Passed by this morning on our way to breakfast. They put short tables out on the patio

Yelp
I've eaten here twice, once inside for Sunday football and once for carry out. Inside - service was fast even on a busy Sunday. I got my standard lemon drops and shared their loaded nachos with a friend. The nachos were soooooo good and filling. The inside is massive with tvs lining nearly all the free space on the wall which is ideal. Nothing else to really report other than that. Parking at the harbor sucks so it's not my go to for watching games unless it's nice enough to walk from the MGM. Carry out was a bit more tedious. There is no working number for this location so I had to place my order in person. I showed up at opening to place a to go order and ended up waiting 45mins for : nachos, wings and calamari. Once I got my food it was cold and there was no compensation for the wait. The food was really good so at least I didn't wait for underwhelming food. I would come back here if I really wanted to watch the game and could get free parking but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

Yelp
Lexi was awesome and super helpful. Food was soo good and the portions were much better than expected

Darya S.

Yelp
The atmosphere is a perfect 10. Drinks were good. The food was average. We had a buffalo chicken sandwich 6/10, French dip 8.5/10, lobster mac. 7/10, salmon salad 7.5/10, artichoke dip 7/10, honey barbecue wings 7.5/10. The service was friendly & efficient. I Would definitely come back for drinks and fun.

Yelp
I stopped by Tom's Watch Bar for lunch while in the DMV area for a work conference, and it was a great experience. On the bartender's recommendation, I tried the prime rib dip. Although I was hesitant at first, it turned out to be one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Since I arrived early, the bar wasn't busy, making it a relaxed visit. The ambiance was classic sports bar--plenty of seating and an impressive number of televisions. The bartender was friendly and made casual small talk while I ate, which I really appreciated. Would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Brends J.

Yelp
Food was very good. Especially the prime rib dip sandwich. Service was okay. They give a veteran discount. It's a sports bar so it was kind of loud. To be expected
google avatar

Yelp
Five stars for the variety of menss to choose from. There was a smorgasbord of selections and they did not dissapoint . . . . LOL Came here to watch the game/s with some friends after planning to attend a function with a FB group. When we arrived, we were informed the wait would be 2 hours. We weren't leaving so kept out names on the list and proceeded to the bar to stand and warn the game. We ordered drinks and made small talk with the crowd. It was good energy and oh how I wish it wasn't so far. Tall glasses of multi shades were at every head turn. Even the shorter and smaller glasses showed up as well. How do I miss this spot of potential meals before?
google avatar

Jasmine M.

Yelp
Just go for drinks and catch a game. The food is lack luster and the drinks are drinks. The prime rib dip could've been good but the dip was super salty. The actual prime rib meat was great. Spinach dip super basic and definitely seemed to be frozen and then heated. This place is really just a bar and cute to watch the game. Shoutout to our waitress who was super sweet and was able to make a strawberry lemon drop for me.

Yelp
I went by here last Saturday when I was picking up something else from National Harbour. I thought I'd get something simple to go and try it at home. I ordered some honey bbq wings and ranch. Unfortunately when I got home they weren't honey bbq but I didn't feel like going back out since it was cold so I tried to make best and try the wings but they were horrible. Prolly some if worst wings I've ever had. If that was a sample of their offerings I see no reason to go back. They had no sauce on the wings at all and were dry.

Yelp
In the harbor for a convention, and wanted to step out for dinner. I remembered coming out during this time last year and recalling her insane some spots could get. I knew restaurants like Bombay and Nando's would be insanely packed, but I was delighted to see that Tom's was unusually quiet. I told my friend who had never been, so we took advantage and headed over. I got the tuna tower and birria mac and cheese, which was definitely new! I had the tuna tower before and knew what to expect, but that mac and cheese... YUM. The noodles had the right amount of cheese and the flavor from the birria beef was hitting. I don't remember our bartender's name, but he was pretty cool. Everything came out in a timely manner and service was great. It's nice to see that they have a happy hour that resumes at 9:00 -- if I had known, I would've waited until then to eat, but it was all good haha. There was stuff I wanted to do back at the convention anyway. Great sports bar for all occasions in my book!

Darrin F.

Yelp
Bar reminded me of dead casino with silent NBA rerun playing narrated by loud yelling and laughter from staff. Plastic beer glasses made sense because of picnic quality food - i think the shrimp was from a frozen dinner plate. The fries were good but the ketchup was gummy and old snd i was afraid to eat it. Also afraid of the fake shrimp but ate 3/4 since I was starved. I had to go back and reread reviews- so wrong they must be plants. Worst meal in a long time and a big disappointment. I almost left but ordered a beer and my gut was right. Avoid this place.

Rosie C.

Yelp
Food was pretty good, minor things that we didn't care for but overall the experience was nice. Our server was a complete gem.

William S.

Yelp
Food is not good, menu sucks. This should've been the first restaurant on the harbor to close. The management sucks, too busy drinking with the guest to actually manage the restaurant. The entire place should be shut down!
google avatar

TIM T.

Yelp
Everything was amazing, the mac and cheese was sooo cheesy but not too chessy the noodles were cooked prefectperfectly Caribbean jerk wings were cook crcrispy like I like and the favor was prefect Chicken rancho had plenty of everything and I would definitely be going back.
google avatar

Andrew E.

Yelp
Love this place to from watching games or watching the big fights. The food menu screams grown and sexy! The drinks are and mighty . The bartender made me an Old Fashioned and stuck around to make sure than it met my standards.

Koren M.

Yelp
I wanted to try this location out hoping it was better than Navy Yard. I had to wait for the bartender to finish her extended conversation with customer. All for her to serve me a half glass of expresso Martini. . I want my money back
google avatar

Lindsey L.

Yelp
Darius is the best server I have ever had in my entire life he made my dining experience phenomenal and I will never forget my night at Tom's!!!! Everyone request him he's the best.

Mark K.

Yelp
Very very bad wait staff. Group of 4 food was brought out one plate at time. The fried pickles never came out my burger nevered arrived. If could I would it negative 1000. Worse place in the national harbor. Better service on a morgue. The manager didn't even care. Waitress didn't even care. Better service from garage can.
google avatar

Catherine N.

Yelp
So, this spot just opened in July at the National Harbor, so it's still growing! However, so far it's good. The manager Jeremy and bartender Brilou were very pleasant. Thank you for such great service! I ordered the Old Bay Wings and strawberry martini. The food was tasty! There's nothing like Old Bay! The ambiance was nice and chill. I was out and about looking at homes and needed a simple lunch and that was enough for me. If you're in town at the Harbor, I would say it's a great place to be. Until next time, Cheers!
google avatar

Donna T.

Yelp
The servers were AMAZING We started our evening with Luke who made excellent appetizer and drink selections from the well stocked bar. Then we moved to the college football game watch party. Nadja was our hostess server who made sure the drinks and food kept coming. We will be back to National Harbor!!
google avatar

Yasuke Y.

Yelp
Marshay was by far the best server I have had while dining in at Tom's. I came to celebrate my birthday and she exceeded my expectation. Will return and ask for her!!! Great drink recommendation!
google avatar

Deena P.

Yelp
To whom it may concern, The service here is terrible. It is slow. It is inaccurate. I'm not sure if this is a hangout spot for customers or staff, because you can hardly get service due to the staff gathering in groups and being inattentive to customers. The food here just isn't that v great to be coupled with very slow and inattentive service. Management is aware and...service remains the worst.
google avatar

Kiki C.

Yelp
Happy hour was pretty good at least the food, the drinks were not strong watered down. The bar area were not kept clean but the food I would definitely return for! The seafood spinach dip and wings specifically were awesome the bartender was also very personable!
google avatar

Arielle H.

Yelp
Tom would be so disappointed!! I've been to various times, and even met him before (thank you yelp). However, I was not impressed last night. Actually, I learned of several interesting sports (ear tugging, extreme slapping, etc) lol..so that was pretty impressive but let's get into the important stuff !! Pork belly tacos: 5/10 * pork belly was flavorful but the tortilla and random pineapples didn't do it for me. Also seemed like it was missing a sauce. Sour cream or an aïoli on top would have been nice. Nashville Hot Chicken: 6/10 When you say Nashville Hot, I should taste some heat. Wings were tender but lacked a real punch Dumplings: 10/10 - love a juicy dumpling ! Cocktails 5/10:Originally ordered an old fashioned, they didn't have the required whiskey. Chose another whiskey... they didn't have that in stock either.Bourbon smash was quite delicious and just the right amount of liquor Special shoutout to our waiter lacy !! Keep killin it !!
google avatar

Courtney T.

Yelp
Great ambiance and service. Kyra was our waiter and she was very thorough and super kind! This bar is a must go to!!!

Aeja W.

Yelp
Tom's Is A Great Place To Eat & Watch Sports. I've Enjoyed Coming Here Each Time I've Been. I Had The Pleasure To Be Hosted/Served By Raina & She Is Such A Dedicated Employee. Checking On Her Tables In A Timely Manner And Don't Get Me Started On Her Hospitality.. Definitely Will Come Here Again.
google avatar

Monique H.

Yelp
Parking garage nearby could get pricey.. 2.5hrs ran me $15 bucks The place is pretty large and plenty plenty screens to watch from any angle or corner you're sitting in. Staff was amazing, courteous and helpful even with a packed bar. I mean it was like the NFL playoffs type packed. Food was great for a sports bar will definitely be back. The wings, prime rib sandwich and tuna tartare was my favorite dishes of the many we sampled. The nachos meat was good. I wasn't a fan of the cheese so I couldn't eat it. The seafood Mac n cheese was ok again that cheese was generic out of a can. Yet, I couldn't believe I was eating such good quality food at a darn sports bar. The atmosphere is amazing! Will definitely plan something here soon!
google avatar

Dennis C.

Yelp
I showed up here just before closing. I wanted to try something different. I had a taste for chocolate but not coffee. I was thinking Kahlua and cream but Aaron Ivory, the bartender, suggested something called a screwball expresso marrina. It was amazing. In fact, I had a few of them.
google avatar

Carla L.

Yelp
I attended a Yelp Elite event for Tom's Watch bar in China Town and had an amazing time. The food was awesome and the vibez were vibing. However, that experience did not fully translate at this location. The initial feeling when walking in was one of disappointment because despite the empty interior service was extremely lackluster. I wasn't sure if we should seat ourselves or if we would be lead to a table so we decided on the bar. The initial bartender didn't really acknowledge us at first and once he gave us our menus, left us to our own devices. The only saving grace was Clayton and Cagney which is why this review gets 3 stars instead of two. Their service saved the overall experience even with the food being very lackluster. Again I was disappointed because our initial experience at the Chinatown location was great and I was excited to visit another chain...
google avatar

Craig H.

Yelp
$12 Coors light drafts. Do I need to tell you more about how sub par this place is. I will say the waiter was fantastic.
google avatar

Rj L.

Yelp
Had a nice snack today at Tom's Watch Bar. Had the nachos with chicken and extra salsa/queso. They were pretty darn good! Nice ingredients and a vey good amount for the price point. If I had a critique for them, I would have liked to have the chips fresher and hotter. I also like nachos to have the toppings throughout the chips and not just on top. The seating was comfortable and our server, Gigi, was very attentive, helpful and nice. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant if you're visiting this area!

Olandis W.

Yelp
I really recommend this place service food and drinks was spot on Thanks to my waitress Destiny and her Manager Nia I will be back

Yelp
I've been to this location for game watches a few times over the past two years and it's consistently had the same issues that have led to this unfavorable review. The food is just okay but overpriced due to the location at National Harbor, I imagine. Food isn't imaginative (which is possible for a sports bar) and heavy. Given early afternoon college and NFL games, seems like not serving brunch is a missed opportunity, but since most of the menu items seem like food that's packed/frozen and/or assembled, maybe brunch doesn't fit the mold. The service on all my visits was awful. Servers weren't friendly, didn't bring food that was ordered, and basic things had to be requested, often more than once, like silverware, napkins, water for the tables. Servers were on their phones, standing around, chewing gum (yuck!) and didn't tidy used dishes from tables efficiently. One table in my group's section was used by a server to pile dirty dishes that just sat there until close to the end of our game watch. No customer wants to look at dirty dishes full of food scrapes while they're eating. Service was also slow despite available staff. Seems like management simply doesn't care enough to make the place top notch. Considering the traffic and involvement needed to get to the Harbor, there isn't any incentive to ever go back to Tom's when there are tons of other DMV area sports bars with way better food and service.
google avatar

Demond S.

Yelp
First time at Tom's Watch Bar. What a great location at National Harbor to watch sporting events. Generously space at the bar and around the restaurant. Service was a bit slow during gaming events. Mixed drinks were pretty decent. The bar food was a bit elevated from traditional bar food. I only had loaded french fries, but the wings and burgers looked pretty good. The fries were hot and crisp with nacho cheese and toppings drizzled over them. Overall, it was a great experience. I look forward to future visits.
google avatar

Kavita K.

Yelp
Ambiance - 5 stars (NFL Commanders game day) Service - 5 stars Food: 3 stars (you definitely do not come here for the food - even the server told us the fish is the frozen variety with more batter than fish) Drinks: 5 stars (tons of beers/IPAs on tap) Final thoughts in 6 words: Do NOT try the Impossible Burger
google avatar

Ally C.

Yelp
I was in town for work and staying at a nearby hotel. After a long day of meetings, I just wanted to have a couple drinks to unwind and get ready for bed. I came into Tom's and I'm so glad I did! Justin made me the best martini I've ever had, it was some kind of lavender drink. Sean also recommended some delicious drinks. I loved the vibe there so came back every night I was in town! I proceeded to make friends with half of the staff during my stay because they were all so cool and friendly!! I look forward to my next visit!
google avatar

Monica W.

Yelp
Great place to come watch all things sports! We opted to sit at the bar and Ammar was our bartender. We weren't really hungry but wanted to sample their beer selection. IMHO nothing special with the beers (don't come for craft beers) and the food selection is your average bar fare. Would we return....the jury is out.
google avatar

Jonathan S.

Yelp
What sports bar has a $10 cover charge in addition to my dinner and beverage? Tom's. This isn't a dance club or some place with live entertainment. Why is there a cover charge?!?

Yelp
Tom's Watch Bar: Where Waiting is a Sport and Service is a Joke If you've ever wondered what it feels like to be a burden just for wanting to eat, Tom's Watch Bar is your go-to destination! Our waitress seemed to have perfected the art of hide and seek, disappearing for long stretches like it was an Olympic sport. Service was so slow that I had enough time to contemplate the meaning of life. The best part? The waitress treated us like we were interrupting her busy schedule of doing absolutely nothing. It's a unique experience in customer disrespect! So, if you have all the time in the world to wait and want to feel thoroughly disrespected, this is your location.
