Tom's Watch Bar Review - Navy Yard - Washington DC - The Infatuation

"Tom’s Watch Bar is so deep down the sports rabbit hole that it has its own channel playing events you’ve probably never heard of, like ear pull and slippery stairs. TVs constantly stream their signature channel, but you’ll also catch the Little League World Series and the Commanders. Screen sizes vary depending on where you’re sitting, so get there early if you’re headed in for an event that everyone wants to watch. And there will definitely be a cover if you’re trying to watch UFC on Saturday night." - Tristiaña Hinton

Tom’s Watch Bar Review - Downtown LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Tom’s Watch Bar is the kind of place you stumble into after a sad Lakers game and have those three extra beers you didn’t need. The food is what you would expect from a massive sports bar and the scene can get rowdy. That said, you’re not going to walk away unhappy." - Brant Cox

Google
Went here during Picklesburgh, and it was super good. I ordered the Birria Nachos which was really good and well portioned out. I do wish however, they gave more meat as that was a little sparse but the flavor was good. After the nachos were finished since my boyfriend and j shared we ordered the Adobo Chicken tacos and they were supposed to be corn but came out flour. That was the only issue we experienced being there. They give the big cans of High Noons too for a decent price. If I am ever back to the north shore, I would definitely go back! Plenty of seating and a great atmosphere. Also the service was super friendly!

Google
Food: ordered the calamari for my appetizer & was highly satisfied. I haven't had calamari in years and they definitely did the dish justice 🦑 For my main dish, the avocado bacon burger was good; the avocado half was sizable, but to my personal liking. The perfect mix of tangy & meaty was in effect Service: my wonderful server was Chelsea and she made me feel like a regular. I asked about her personal recs bc I'm indecisive about new foods. She explained the fan favorites & why they earned the reputation. Also, when I got a water refill, she not only left in my lemon, but generously added another. I'll be a regular customer now, Tom's has raised the bar (literally) for North Shore life 🙌

Google
Lovely servers, which is the only reason this isn’t a one star review. My only comment - and I’m trying to say this in the nicest way possible - is that they should take the poke bowl off their menu. The rice was cold, lumpy, and chewy. The portion sizes were meager and the sauce was the only redeeming quality (keep in mind, this was a $20 bowl.) I can’t speak to the other food, but steer clear from this dish.

Google
Went here for the first time and it was well worth it! We got the bacon avocado burger, the crispy buffalo chicken sandwich, California chicken club and bacon Mac and cheese. The food was absolutely amazing! The manager and staff were really friendly and nice. There so much room inside as well as a beautiful outdoor area facing the river and the Pittsburgh Water Steps.

Google
First time coming here and we will definitely be back! Our server Autumn was fun, friendly, and made our first experience unforgettable! My table got the prime rib dip, burgers, and lobster and shrimp tacos. Nobody left a bite! Also had the best spicy margarita I’ve ever had! Must try!

Google
Everything at Tom’s was great! Our server, Sammie, was so lovely. We enjoyed her very much. 4 stars for food ONLY bc the “colossal cheesecake” was on the smaller cut size. It was all so delicious tho! The add the lobster and shrimp to the spinach artichoke dip!!!! Thanks yinz guys! See yinz again soon!

Google
“J” was a fantastic server and very polite and accommodating. My beer came out nice and cold and she continued to check we were doing good. The spinach dip was pretty fantastic as well!

Google
Great meal before George Strait at Acrisure Stadium. Sammie was a Rockstar! All staff were very efficient and very personable including hosts.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere and beer is cheap! Came before pirates game and the place was pretty full. Lots of TVs and food to choose from
google avatar

Brian R.

Yelp
Love the amount of TVs and there was decent space between tables. Our server, Jill, was great and the drinks were amazing. I think Journalism will win this year's derby.

Yelp
Pre-Pirates Game - Fried chicken and pancakes: The pancake looks like a doughy mess, but the boneless fried chicken pieces are thick and fun and delicious. The crispy coating is excellent and the chicken was cooked properly. - The burger is pure food service. Edible, but barely. This store could easily do better. - The tots that came with the burger are good; classic. Nothing special, nothing inspired, but solid tots. - We loved the prime rib/dip sandwitch. The jus is good. One of our group would come to this restaurant specifically for this sandwich. - Happy pre-game vibe; probably under-staffed for volume. Our server took great care of us.

Yelp
I attended my cousin's college graduation party and I was pleasantly surprised of how well the staff accommodated the reservation! The food was set up buffet style and I couldn't get enough of the fries and mini sliders. Fun party atmosphere that felt welcoming to all.

Yelp
Food was ok but the service was awesome and the ambiance was as expected for a sports bar. Prices were a little steep. For my husband and I to get two drinks (Tom's mar-great, topo-Chico--also great) and one app (pot-stickers -eh) it was $50 with tip.
google avatar

Hayward L.

Yelp
A lot of 'drink specials' but be careful of the fine print. We were told about all these discounts and even double checked the price with our server but still had a bit of a shock when the bill came. Apparently the $4 happy hour doesn't always apply to all draft beers. Lots of TVs which is great for sports.

Yelp
The ultimate destination for watching all your favorite sports!! I checked out Tom's recently after 1 other not so great visit- I had been to Tom's one other time previously, right after they opened, and didn't have the best experience (it was mobbed and we didn't order any food- so couldn't judge on that) but it took forever to get a drink wnd the prices were outrageous- this time it was awesome- still an expensive spot but very cool and service improved. The food is elevated bar food. Everything was great! My favorite was the lobster & shrimp mac & cheese- unreal. Tasted better than what half of the fancy steak places around PGH serve. I also loved their prime rib dip sandwich and the nachos! Everything was delicious and I was very impressed For drinks I stuck with a glass of wine and also tried a fun shot. The wine pour was very generous! I will definitely be back after this experience

Yelp
Writing this review mainly to highlight the Prime Rib sandwich. It is so consistently delicious every time, and I'll never stop recommending it. The meat is perfectly cooked, the bread is soft but sturdy, the cheese is mild, and the demi glace just takes it to the next level in terms of flavor. I get mine with fries, which I find to be really well seasoned, thin, and crispy! I tried the fried pickles on my most recent trip, they were alright, dipping in ranch helped enhance the flavor for sure! They were a bit oily for my liking.

Yelp
Fun sports bar, but they give out free swag to people who leave 5-Star reviews (there's a sign at the front door for it) so don't believe the skewed high ratings. It feels a little sleazy that they do that. Service is quite slow & drinks are very expensive - deserving of an average sports bar rating but not 5 stars.
google avatar

Anthony G.

Yelp
Excellent sports bar! Much bigger than it looks on the outside. Great TVs all over for your sport viewing. Good draft line and cocktails. Friendly bartenders who stay on top of service. Great place to watch games!
google avatar

Bridget F.

Yelp
Wow!!! The Prime Rib sandwich truly lives up to the hype! I would come here again just for that . Also enjoyed the atmosphere. We were able to eat outside on the patio . Our waitress was super sweet. We enjoyed the chicken nachos, which had very generous portions with lots of yummy toppings. My husband had the hot ,buffalo , crispy chicken sandwich with loaded fries. He was so full because he couldn't stop enjoying the yummy meal !This is a fun spot to watch a game or to have a meal before going to a game. Lots of drink options as well.

Yelp
I know what we're all going to say... it's a sports bar and we don't expect it to be amazing, BUT with that said, I expect to get what I am paying for. The food was fine, portions were skimpy in regard to the poke bowl and the nachos. For the birria nachos, and considering the price point, I would hope to get more than a half scoop of birria. This is a prime location for a drink before a sports game, or to watch the game considering the overstimulating amount of tvs, but for what you're paying for I would just hope for a little more bang for your buck. Positive note! Shout out to our waiter, it was a busy night and it was only his second day and he was delightful and knowledgeable of the menu!

Yelp
This is a perfect place to go before or after a game or even an event at AE. They have an open concept with a lot of TVs showing almost every game being televised. I will say it is rather loud. But, it is a sports bar. This was my second time here. And the food and service are great. With a nice selection of drinks, you can't go wrong. I may have been a party of two, but, I observed many larger parties around us. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. With good food, good drinks, good music and wall to wall sports, Tom's is a great place to go and meet up with your friends and family.

Keegan T.

Yelp
Stopped in on a blazing summer day and was instantly cooled by the refreshing AC--total game changer! The vibe was chill, with plenty of TVs showing all the major sports. The staff was friendly, making the experience even better. It's the perfect place to cool off, catch a game, and relax with friends. If you're looking for a comfortable sports bar to escape the heat, this is it. Definitely coming back!
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome spot to watch the games! Food is awesome, service is great, and lots of TVs! Super cool vibe.
google avatar

Aditi S.

Yelp
This place is super lively to watch Steelers games! I'm shocked it's taken us this long to check it out. Solid apps and drink selection and there's plenty of seating. Gotta love Tom's!
google avatar

Yelp
Great Service excellent food, and great cocktails!!! Kennedy, Alec were super awesome!!! Thank you!!!

Yelp
This sports bar has a great atmosphere, tons of TVs for every game, and amazing cheese curds--crispy, golden, and packed with flavor. The service is friendly, the drinks are cold, and it's the perfect spot to catch a game with friends. GO PIRATES
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome place to hang after the Pirates game!! Good food and great service! Go Pirates.

Yelp
What's sad yuppie futt would find this to be a fun place? The staff is rude as shat, and god help you when they enviably fut up your bill.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my time at Tom's watch bar. Our server Jill was really helpful. The horse I think is going to win is sandman
google avatar

Thomas K.

Yelp
Came in the day before the game. The table was sticky and all the wait staff was busy either hanging decorations or talking to each other at the bar. My wife ordered a Moscow mule that she liked, I ordered an IPA off the limited beer menu. I get it, there are lots of tvs and it's in the N.S. but there wasn't anything that looked appealing on the menu. We only ordered chips and queso which we barely ate and then got our check and left. It's honestly not worth going to as there are way better spots on the North Side.
google avatar

McCall S.

Yelp
Wow, I'm impressed! The food is so good. The ahi tuna tower is absolute fire. So many different flavors and textures to it. It also comes with a side of a garlic aioli. The nachos and fried calamari were also really good. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because the service was just a little slow but she was still super nice!! It's also a pretty cool sports bar. It's very open and there's lots of TVs to watch from. It's a nice and chill place to hang out during game days.
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
Tom's watch bar was the best place to go for St. Patrick's's day. Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Eryn P.

Yelp
This place is chaos, but so worth it. The service is incredible, the food is really good, but its yinzers on the north shore, so the crowd on game days will definitely keep me away. However, on non game days, I would definitely come back for their nachos, drinks and their calamari is probably one of my favorites I've had in the burgh. Tom's plans great events with giveaways, sports celeb appearances, and watch parties, too, when the home teams are away. Nice way to still get the experience without the travel. Check out their website for more info. Tip your waitress! She's working really hard to make sure you have everything you need. Remember to be nice, you wont lose your yinzer card if you display kindness. Happy Eating!

Yelp
Don't go here. Everything is 20-40% more expensive than it ought to be - $8-10 for a crappy light American beer! The bar, seating, paint are all gray on gray on gray - no character at all except that they have TV's of various sizes literally everywhere. I store that's the gimmick. It would probably be alright on a game day, but I could see it getting kind of cramped. The glassware for my cocktail was pretty neat though!

John S.

Yelp
Tried for 1st time. When we ordered AHI TUNA TOWER & NASHVILLE HOT CRISPY CHICKEN, John said it would be out in 10 minutes and it was. Both were very good, even leftovers 2d later were good. John was very attentive and fast considering how big the place is. Didn't count but they may have 100 flat screens. We were outside and could watch 6 different games, when asked for a different game, they were on it. Malika at the host station couldn't have been nicer This is our new sports bar, can't wait to try other menu choices. Only thing they don't carry is wife's Corona Light but that's not uncommon, she managed with a draught with a lime. Cheers!

Yelp
The restaurant was super crowded when we were there before a Pitt night game, so I didn't expect good service. We were very pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was great. We had a party of ten abc only one drink was missed (she got it quickly). The food was ready amazingly fast and was good. The pickle chips weren't crispy enough, but the tuna tartar was very good & so was the calamari. The burgers looked over cooked, but friends reported that they tasted good. They also said the fries were good and they looked crispy. The sound was crazy. There was a DJ, the TV sounds, and people. It was so loud. Almost impossible to hear anyone. If you just want to watch games, it's great. So many TVs everywhere & good food & service. If you want to talk to the friends you're with, you might want to try another bar.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite place to watch any sporting events in Las Vegas... They have 1 million TVs as well as an outdoor patio section with TVs but honestly the thing that I crave year-round when I'm not in Vegas, is there prime rib dip sandwich. I would recommend this to anyone is always friendly and I know in years past when the NFL season is kicked off the bartenders provided everyone in the house with a free shot to start off the NFL season. I'll continue to come here and watch sporting events anytime I'm in Vegas. Great crowds for NFL and NHL games.

Evan B.

Yelp
This is the best bar in pgh to watch sports! Would highly recommend! Would go here any day of the week
google avatar

Ben B.

Yelp
Perfect place to visit before any game! There was a large crowd but the service from the bar kept the drinks coming! Will definitely visit again!
google avatar

Halie G.

Yelp
Great spot to watch the game! Lots of beer options! I would recommend heading there on a Sunday during football season or during March madness!! So much fun. Food is not bad, traditional bar food.
google avatar

Danielle C.

Yelp
Visiting from out of town! What a fun spot. Kyra was our waitress & was so much fun. Recommend 12/10!!!
google avatar

Sabine S.

Yelp
perfect spot to catch a game and unwind. great atmosphere, plenty of TVs, and the food hits the spot! friendly staff and fast service!
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
The food was definitely really good and they have a lot of drink options. It gets really packed on game days, which can be frustrating when they reach max capacity as service slows down a lot and the tables are all very close together. However, that comes with the territory and is understandable! I'm glad they are busy and doing well.

Andre H.

Yelp
Food and services was great. A nice variety of music was playing while dining. Just need more deserts on the menu.

Adam C.

Yelp
Amazing place and love the vibe. Waiters are great and the food and drinks are awesome
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
...pretentious. I can't believe you can charge $12.99 for a Yuengling draft. Food was so-so with small portions. Good place for tourists but any true Pittsburgher would never go back...
google avatar

Amy B.

Yelp
Great spot on the North Shore to watch an event. There was plenty of seating inside and out on the patio with tvs at every angle. Service was quick and friendly. My complaint is that everything that is chicken on the menu has been brined in pickles. As a pickle hater, I kept an open mind and tried a bite of my husband's sandwich....NOPE tasted pickles immediately so hard pass. I had a hard time finding something on the menu that spoke to me since all the chicken was out. But overall the experience for everything else was pretty cool.
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
This is the perfect spot to watch all sports, with over 100 screens, outdoor seating, and right in the middle of all the excitement in the North Shore! They have some unique dishes that are exciting to see at a sports bar. Some of our favorites were the chicken and cornbread pancake, prime rib sandwich, and shrimp and lobster Mac and cheese! The stag was all extremely friendly and helpful!

Brenda B.

Yelp
We stopped there for lunch with grandkids after visiting the Museum of Illusions. Not a game day so stadium crowds were missing. They do have a limited kids' menu but our 8 and 11 year olds have adult appetites. TBS, the 8 year old couldn't finish her burger which was accompanied by choice of fries or tots. The 11 year old ordered chicken tacos which he eagerly devoured. Spouse had a fried chicken club sandwich with a side of smothered tots. He won the clean plate award! I had the fish taco. This was disappointing- breaded fried fish portion with a bland slaw. Presentation exceed flavor. I know that I should have known that a bar/restaurant in the shadow of 2 stadiums would not be where I would get authentic fis tacos - my fault! Restaurant is geared towards quick prep time for rapid turnover of seats. The atmosphere is what you would expect: many TV screens with same station playing so that everyone has a view of every station. I would return for the atmosphere and appetizers selection. I don't think I want to come back just for dinner. Definitely a great place for kids and sports fans.
google avatar

Tabitha W.

Yelp
We went on a pretty busy night, but the service was excellent! The drinks were okay, people were pretty hyped about this very large beer which is definitely worth going for to watch a game. However, we did not enjoy the food. My sandwich was very fatty and I couldn't finish it. For four drinks and two sandwiches, the bull was more than $100 which for a casual sports bar was a bit much. I'd go for the ambiance and a drink, but would probably grab dinner somewhere else or at home before heading over!
google avatar

Nicci S.

Yelp
Watched the Steeler game this past Sunday here & it was so much fun! They do free shots when the game starts and their food is delicious. The atmosphere is great for watching sports and the staff is super friendly! They have so many TVs large and small. It was really crowded so I'd recommend getting there at least 30 min before the game starts if you want to get a table. We got the spinach & artichoke dip and it was 10/10.
google avatar

Lauren T.

Yelp
A little chaotic and overpriced, but hey, it's the north shore. Really impressed with the amount of people this spot can hold. They have multiple LONG bars and tons of tables. There are tvs truly everywhere, including many tvs on the outdoor patio. I visited during the first pirates home game so it was a bit overwhelming, but I'm looking forward to popping in at a calmer time and enjoying those patio TVs in the warm sun.

Nicholas R.

Yelp
This place was so terrible, waited over an hour for food. Waitress forgot sauces and waters repeatedly. Had to grab our own water glasses. Really loud, poor place for conversation with bad remixes. Maybe it the DJ don't know won't be able to tell another time. Food was below average, stale tortilla and chips, fatty meat on the prime rib. I recommend you don't spend your money here.
google avatar

Ricky P.

Yelp
Good food good vibes good service. 5/5 love it here for steelers games. Nothing else in the north shore compares

Joseph E.

Yelp
Awesome atmosphere and very friendly!! Came up from NY for baseball and loved it!! #LGM#LGTOM's

Yelp
I gave Tom's four stars because I'm sure sports fans that don't mind shelling out money for good food and drink to watch a bazillion TV screens in a relatively exclusive environment would give it a four. If you're looking for a "watch bar", it fits the bill. I would personally have given it a 3.5 if that was an option. The server didn't approach me for about 10 minutes, then my drink order took an unusually long time, and my food took 40 minutes to arrive after ordering it. When the food arrived, the tater tots were cold. My chicken club was too saucy, but otherwise above average and the crispy tater tots would have been excellent if they had arrived warm. The club was $16 double margarita cost about $23. I don't mind paying those prices in a nice place on the North Side when the atmosphere is this right (which it is here) and IF the service and food were better. Had the service been faster and the food served at temperature, Tom would have knocked it out of the ballpark. I will give it another try sometime and see if it was just a bad night. It may have had a lot to do with the server, who spent too much time chatting with her coworkers and paying too little attention to someone dining alone.
