Oh my heavens what a delicious dinner at Tomy and Co! My wife and I traveled to Paris for our wedding anniversary this summer and food was of course one of the things we were truly looking forward to on this trip. After all, they say that Paris is the gastronomic capital of the world! Tomy and Co was recommended by a colleague of mine who lives in Paris and her foodie husband (he has nearly 100k followers on Instagram because of his food reviews... #rolemodel). Not surprisingly, this place was top notch, almost as good as it could get for this city!
Important note for Americans like me who don't speak a word of French (beyond the obvious), this place offers both French & English menus, which I really appreciated! There are many places in Paris that do, but not all the high-class restaurants offer that option. Tomy and Co delivers exceptional service beyond the menu choices: I'm talking water glasses constantly being refilled, servers offering friendly advice, and the staff allowing you to take your time and enjoy your meal. The ambiance here is also terrific: the dark wood furniture, comfortable chairs, quiet music and intimate size make it a great place to eat.
But you probably came here to learn about the food, right? Well let's get to it! Entrees, plats and desserts here are all exceptional! The food is very fresh, super tasty, and beautiful to look at (cameras and phones were out before any first bite was taken). For entrees, I especially enjoyed the summer vegetable salad (tomato, radish, peas, parsley, and a medley of spices in a light dressing). When they say fresh picked from the garden, they mean it! The medley of veggies was the perfect way to whet my appetite for the rest of the meal.
For the main course, I ordered the beef tenderloin, which came with potatoes in a leek sauce. My goodness was that delicious! The beef was cooked perfectly (as desired) and the sauce fantastic. The potatoes were also delicious.
For dessert, I ordered the raspberry tort, which essentially tasted like raspberry sorbet in a flaky raspberry-flavored shell. The dessert was very sweet (as raspberry can be) but refreshing at the same time.
The rest of my group adored their meals as well. The four of us paired our evening with a delicious bottle of red, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
If you're in Paris, you must visit Tomy and Co! You won't regret it!
