"Health-conscious eaters should head to Tonic, a local kitchen and juice bar right across from Mayo’s famous St. Mary’s Hospital. This business is a bright and cheery gathering space, somehow complete with classic, hearty Eastern European family recipes and superfood smoothies featuring cold pressed juices. There are also tons of vegetarian and vegan choices as well as an excellent breakfast spread." - Katy Spratte Joyce

"Tonic was voted the best juice bar once upon a time (2015) by WCCO and has accumulated a number of other accolades such as Rochester Magazine’s recognition of their Pyrohi as the best vegetarian offering in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Whether you’re craving a bite to eat, a refreshing juice, or a smoothie concocted with local ingredients, Tonic is a brightly colored place to stop for a light, healthy bite (or not—they serve peanut butter and banana-stuffed french toast, too)." - Cinnamon Janzer

Really good kale chips and Grilled Rachel on Gluten free bread. The soup has also good. The cup size was a bit small, I'd order a bowl if I get it again. The unchunky monkey was good, but we didn't finish the latte smoothie.

Great juice. Great food. Good staff. I was expecting a line, but, was able to walk in and have a seat. The server was patient, and didn't try to update me. The food was delicious, I didn't know what to expect. But, I would certainly recommend Tonic Juice bar to anyone looking for simple yet delicious drinks.

It is a bit pricey, I got a smoothie and it was $9 which I think it’s too much for the amount you get. The vegan burger and as okay, I probably won’t get it again. And the kale chips, were a big disappointment to me. I was not expecting literal kale chips, I laughed once I got to my car. Might try other vegan food options, but I’ve came here two times already. First time was the photos below and my second I just got the same smoothie (it’s so good).

A life saver after days on the road. Absolutely the friendliest place ever. Great selection of juices and salads, and other foods. And they will make you any juice you want. Comfortable and healthy atmosphere. Fantastic place. I had the wheatgrass juice with lemon, a green juice, broccoli and kale salad and feel great.

I’m giving a 4 out of 5 solely because of the slow speed of service we got when we went there for brunch. The food itself is absolutely delicious, and we have no complaints about anything we ordered and everything on the menu seemed to be a safe choice :) however, it took about 45 minutes for our food to come out... maybe it was because there was only one chef working... but still, there were maybe two other families in the restaurant :/ the waitress was very polite though. Aside from that, I really liked the atmosphere too, very hipster with a lot of cute decorations.

I'm grateful for such a tasty, healthy option in Rochester. Clean, fairly quiet, nice staff. Decent food options (it's not just vegetarian fare), and a crazy mix of smoothie/juice options for a health boost. A few degrees warmer would be nice but that's the only drawback for me.

Fresh, local ingredients and delicious food. The Rachel sandwich is stellar; I got it twice in one week. Delicious juices and smoothies. I enjoyed the banana latte smoothie. I was not crazy about the cream cheese in the borscht, but the bean soup was fabulous. Pretty good Ethiopian coffee. I found good coffee difficult to find in Rochester.

Tonic has all kinds of healthy food, from small bites to burgers. Some really wonderful eastern European food like Borscht and Perogies, and amazing inventions like the Rochester wrap and duck tacos. The staff is always super-friendly as well (but usually very busy).
