The 10 Best French Restaurants In Houston - Houston - The Infatuation

"No, you’re not dining in a French chateau. But you are at the most beautiful Houston restaurant, Tonight And Tomorrow at the La Colombe d’Or Hotel. And the food has the same flair with rich details and flavors that, like the beautiful space, make you want to linger. Think ‘nduja-spiced mussels with savory beans and parmesan-stuffed gnocchi Parisienne, which we could snack on like popcorn. And while not everything on this menu screams French—like the milk bread rolls slathered in honey—the 1920s Montrose mansion setting looks straight out of the French countryside, and sometimes that’s all you need." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene, julie takahashi

The 21 Best Restaurants And Bars In Montrose - Houston - The Infatuation

"No, you’re not dining in a French chateau, but instead, you’re at the most beautiful restaurant in Houston. Tonight And Tomorrow at the La Colombe d’Or Hotel doesn’t look like anywhere else in town, and the excellent food here gives you even more reason to settle in for a long meal. The menu spans from French mussels in broth to Parker House-style yeast rolls you may want to order a second round of. It’s a great place to escape the sights and sounds (and smells) of Montrose and pretend you’re in the French countryside instead." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene

The 13 Best Restaurants With Private Dining Rooms In Houston - Houston - The Infatuation

"How to get in touch: Submit an inquiry here Capacity: from 12 to 125 between the choice of nine rooms The French restaurant Tonight & Tomorrow has the widest variety of event spaces on this list, mostly thanks to being inside the Colombe d’Or hotel in Montrose. You can opt for an intimate 16-person dinner in an atrium overlooking the sculpture garden or host up to 32 people under a chandelier dripping with crystals. Plus, the food here is excellent, like the fluffy milk bread rolls or the juicy half chicken, great for splitting with your soon-to-be sister-in-law’s estranged cousin." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene

Tonight & Tomorrow - Review - Montrose - Houston - The Infatuation

"No, you’re not dining in a French chateau. But you are at the most beautiful restaurant in Houston. Tonight And Tomorrow at the La Colombe d’Or Hotel in Montrose doesn’t look like anywhere else in town—it’s the only restaurant in a restored historic 1920s mansion we know of. And the food gives you even more reasons to linger. photo credit: Chelsea Thomas Tonight And Tomorrow’s menu spans from mussels packed with ‘nduja to honey-drizzled milk bread rolls we would order three or four rounds of. And while the server might seem overwhelmed, the feeling of eating in a room straight out of the French countryside makes up for any awkwardness. You just can’t beat cutting into foie gras-stuffed Texas quail while staring at museum-quality works of art (La Colombe d’Or houses an extensive art collection). Tonight And Tomorrow—and the adjoining bar across the hotel lobby—make a romantic spot to admire some dark wood walls and escape Houston traffic, if only for an evening. Food Rundown Cast Iron Milk Bread Rolls Thanks to the ever-so-slight honey glaze on top, these are somewhere between a Parker House roll and a sweet yeast roll. We could eat 20 of these things. Moules Au Pistou This is both well-cooked and seasoned, dressed with sweet-and-spicy ‘nduja and a blanket of savory tarbais beans. However, it’s a bit too heavy as an appetizer, so order it as a stand-alone dish after a salad. Salad Maison Light, simple, and with a little bit of crispy pork lardons—this salad is great for keeping your palate refreshed between bites. Half Chicken Served in a pool of parmesan jus, this chicken is perfectly moist. It had to have been conceived by someone thinking, “How would a perfect roast chicken taste without actually roasting it?” And, the smashed potatoes on the side soak up extra jus for an almost too-powerful bite. Cauliflower Escalope While we love the vadouvan curry flavors in this dish, during one visit the cauliflower and chickpeas were slightly underdone, which made it difficult to enjoy. Gnocchi Parisienne We would snack on these crispy parmesan-stuffed gnocchi nuggets as though they were popcorn, especially with a glass of champagne on the side. Honey Panna Cotta Even though panna cotta is a simple dessert, this honey-infused one must sneak in some god-like nectar, too. Our only complaint is we need more passionfruit curd." - Chelsea Thomas

Have a dinner here in August 2025. This place was a hidden gem. Wasn't sure where it was located until I realized it was inside the hotel. The decor is appropriate for the location. Service was exceptional. The waiter who waited on me was attentive and paid attention to the details. The setup is cozy and well arranged. I great place for small groups and dates and the ambiance is fitting. This was during Restaurant Week so there was a special multicourse menu. The drinks and the food choices matched what we ordered and the presentation was equally good. I would definitely recommend this place for easy quiet paced dinner and conversation. Definitely will revisit.

Little hidden gem in the heart of Montrose! We pass by this place all the time, but we never noticed it because of the amazing privacy bushes... it's a positive though as the window seating will allow a nice atmosphere that separates the city life from this haven of delight. We planned a nice date-night dinner here as a precursor to a show at Stages. The staff was very attentive and courteous, complementary valet service, beautiful and very clean facility retaining the history of the original structure! The food was also amazing! We started off with a cold dish which was just as visually appetizing as it tasted (Crown Toro Hamachi Tartare)... I could eat several plates of this alone!!! The lovely wife had the Gnocchi al Tartufo which was filling and warmed the soul. I had the Roasted Duck Breast, which was cooked perfectly! The polenta was rich/creamy and paired with the duck nicely. The sauce was welcomed and went perfectly with the duck. We finished our journey there by sharing the Banana Semifreddo! Not only does it look like art, but it was a treat to finish off... try to pace yourself because your willpower to scarf it down will be tested. All-in-all, this was a pleasurable experience and we are excited to come back to try more dishes! Highly recommend!

food was amazing, service was smooth, and the place itself is beautiful. Be prepared to spend a little — if you’re not about quality, this spot might not be for you. But for us, the price was more than fair for the presentation, atmosphere, and overall experience. I’ll definitely be bringing my wife here next

My friend Nancy and I came here for lunch on their Houston Restaurant Weeks special menu and we also let the server know that we will share everything. So the hotel only have valet parking on site. So we just park on the street next to the hotel. The hotel is very friendly to handicap accessibility and the valet staff are very friendly, they help us by open the door and and when we were leaving, they park a car in front of our car and some one came and help me to get in to car and then move the car in front of our so it is easier for us top get out. The restaurant is on the sitting feels a bit tight for some tables but I was able to get in and out easily. The service was fast and the starter we got French onion soup and oyster trio. The soup was just okay but the oyster was the bomb the presentation was splendid. For the main entree we got the charred salmon and roasted chicken, I didn't like the salmon here. I did not like the taste of the relish on top of the salmon. But the chicken and the potatoes were great!

My office lunch was an absolute disaster. The service was not just slow; it was glacial. The food, when it finally arrived, was a culinary insult—bland, poorly prepared, and completely forgettable. What truly sealed this restaurant's fate for me was the manager's dismissive attitude. My attempt to provide constructive feedback was met with a breathtaking level of apathy. It was clear she saw me as a nuisance rather than a customer with a legitimate complaint. This establishment is a cautionary tale, especially for large groups. It pretends to be a high-end restaurant, but it delivers a bargain-bin experience at an exorbitant price. Save your money and your sanity. With so many genuinely good restaurants nearby, there is absolutely no reason to subject yourself to this miserable excuse for a dining experience. Just stay away. This is based on my experience at this restaurant.

Google
Absolutely beautiful space for having supper in style. We were unfamiliar with the hotel, so what a find! The dishes are meticulously prepared and full of flavor. Do yourself a favor and try the gnocchi as an appetizer because it's too wonderful to just be a side dish. This kitchen knows how to treat seafood, and the crab meat appetizer was especially great. For vegetarians, you'll have no problem finding a satisfying meal: cauliflower and chick pea bowl, iron skillet milk rolls, salads, delicious sides. The chocolate mousse is decadent and plenty for two people to share. Walk off some of those calories by strolling the beautiful grounds and admiring the artwork and shady patio. Very friendly reception from everyone and prompt valet service. We'll be back!

Perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch and and dinner! From the valet parking to being greeted when you walk through the door to excellent service and French-influenced cuisine. The trio of sorbet is the ideal finish after a great meal.

Google
The food was underwhelming for a preset Christmas meal. The appetizer and entree tasted good enough, but were nothing special. My main complaints were the desserts. It’s clear that they don’t have a pastry chef because the desserts were not worth eating. The cherry pie was made with a salty store bought crust and a medicinal canned filling. The gingerbread bundt cake was alright, but again…we paid a lot of money for meh.

Yelp
Went for brunch with friends as a part of Houston Restaurant Weeks and it was really good! I got the tomato bisque and the ham and cheese quiche. The quiche had an amazing truffle sauce that was tasty but not overpowering. Service was great, the servers were very attentive. I think the restaurant week menu was a good value for what we got. I would go back here for brunch again!

Yelp
I feel like I'm being generous by giving a 3, but the atmosphere really elevates the experience. My husband and I brought our adult goddaughter here for Sunday brunch. I had made a reservation, but when we arrived, the hostess seemed a little caught off guard. It didn't matter much since there were only three occupied tables, and both the restaurant and bar were nearly empty. I have to say...the design and décor are beautiful, stylish, and top-notch. Unfortunately, the service, food, and pricing brought the experience down a couple of notches. I ordered the Mansion Breakfast with a cup of coffee. The bacon tasted old, hard, overly crispy, and clearly not made to order. The eggs were overcooked, and the potatoes were plain with no flavor. The highlight was the sourdough toast, which was excellent. My husband ordered the quiche and thought it was just "okay." My goddaughter ordered a house salad, which came with the option of chicken, shrimp, or red snapper as a protein. At first, she decided to go without protein until the salad arrived. It was basically tossed spring mix with a few grated carrots. She added a side of snapper, which I suspect is what elevated the bill (though I couldn't tell for sure since the bill was not itemized). Unfortunately, the fish was not fresh. The fishy smell reached our table before it was even served. She only took a few bites and tried squeezing lime on it to help, but it didn't improve much. We should have sent it back, but I didn't want to make an issue of it. Our server was attentive, but the overall service was slow...though I'm not sure that was his fault. This place has so much potential with its location, décor, and attention to style, but the management and efficiency need to rise to the same high standard.

Yelp
Finally able to visit this place that I saw so many times when I was in Montrose area. Taking the advantage of HRW2025 and to my surprise it's quite good. Service was nice but definitely can be better. Our server was not visible when we need him but he was very courteous. Food was good even though my salmon was over cooked to my request. I was requesting medium and it was a bit well done. But overall it was good and the restaurant has a nice ambiance.

Yelp
Can confirm what others have said. Very lovely ambiance, middle of the road food, friendly but sub par service. It's a setting great for business meals, or enjoying some quieter conversation time with friends. For appetizers, we got the ceviche, crudo, and Caesar salad to share. The former two, very good. The Caesar was a big disappointment. Tiniest whole heads of Romain, the dressing lacked any punchiness. For the mains, I got the papparadelle with butter sauce. It was just ok. For the table we got the asparagus, wild mushrooms, roasted veggies, and polenta to share. The polenta and asparagus were delicious. The mushrooms had zero flavor at all, and the veggies tasted almost blanched, not roasted. The biggest disappointment was the polarizing service. While everyone was extremely kind and friendly, our waiter interrupted us mid conversation at least 6 times during the evening. We were visibly I. The middle of something and he would come by and just hover. The other weird thing that others have noted...folks came by to clear our plate before we were done. I mean it's one thing to ask first and THEN grab the plate, but to take it, then midair ask if we were done was just odd. Not sure if the ambience is enough to bring me back, but may try again one day if I see the reviews getting better.

Yelp
The setting is beautifully decorated and the tables are spaced out. We were the only guests on a Monday morning. It was quite chilly in the dining area. The menu over the years has dwindled. Do not ask for any variations from the menu because the kitchen stock has also seemingly dwindled. The eggs Benedict has become more and more bizarre over time. The biscuits and gravy used to be good, but they're gone now as well. The grits were excellent and the bacon crispy. The French omelet was lacking flavor of any kind. Tonight & Tomorrow is past its prime. The menu needs to be revamped. This is a beautiful venue lacking a creative chef.

Yelp
I am so impressed with the service, atmosphere, decors and the whole dining experience here, what a beautiful place for a girls date! We came here for breakfast, the lighting in the dining area and the flowers on the table made us feel so cozy and relaxed, and there's soft music in the background. We ordered the Croiffles- beautifully plated, topped with unique Vietnamese coffee caramel syrup! The waffle itself is a bit too hard to cut and chew though. Vegetarian eggs Benedict-another interesting twist from the traditional eggs benedict, instead of ham in the middle, they used mushroom, tomato slice and avocado. It was perfect. The hollandaise sauce is so rich and creamy. French omelette-soft, fluffy and creamy! Parking is easy, parallel parking on the neighboring streets.

Yelp
We had lovely breakfast here in the dining room that is in the mansion (apparently the hotel rooms and the apartments are in the Tower). It's such a lovely space with interesting, historical, and eclectic art pieces (paintings, sculptures, mixed-media, etc.). My breakfast was perfect: steel cut oats with oatmeal and a latte. Just perfect for a windy day in Houston. My husband was so intrigued by my order that he ordered the same! The service is great on a Weekday morning, since it's not crowded, but I can imagine this space getting crowded in the evenings. And, can I tell you, how nice the valet was?! It was raining cats and dogs when we arrived, and multiple valets came out to our with umbrellas to help us into the mansion. It was the best one can want on a rare windy and rainy day in Houston. Hope to return another day when the sun is out and see all the art and food in the sunlight.

Yelp
The ambiance is delightful. Arrive earlier for quieter dining, it gets a little louder past 7pm. Delicious food, the ceaser salad packs more flavor than you'd expect. The Bouillabaisse was the star, but had no spice/heat to it. The strip and marrow is a deliciously good way to fill up between smaller dishes. Excellent recommendations, absolutely attentive: Ariz provides excellent service. Will come back again to try more. 9/10 overall excellence!

Yelp
Love this spot. It has such a wonderful ambiance inside. A twist on modern art deco. It is valet only, but it makes things a lot easier compared to trying to park off of a busy Houston street. The cocktails are thoughtful and somewhat complex, with a little bit of something for everyone on the menu. I had the Summer Peche, which was perfect. My husband also enjoyed his drink as well. For dinner I had the Summer Vegetables, which comes with parmesan-dusted gnocchi, and it was one of the best things I have eaten in a long time. Magnificent! For dessert we have the flourless chocolate cake, which was good but very thick. We originally had ordered the Plum Cheesecake, but it was sold out for the night! Overall a delightful spot for dinner, or even just cocktails. They have a separate cocktail bar to the right of the entrance, with a fun speak-east vibe. We will absolutely be back again!

Yelp
Nestled in the historical home of one of Texas' most prominent oil titans, Tonight & Tomorrow is a unique experience that blends French influence, seafood, and an almost art deco ambiance together. I had the pleasure of dining here with my mentor, and our waitstaff was Atlee, who took our orders quickly, discreetly, and professionally. I ordered the king salmon, brussels sprouts, seafood platter, and chocolate mousse for dessert. The king salmon was excellently finished in a roll of what appears to be bamboo paper. The picture doesn't do it justice--it's moist, tangy, and pairs perfectly with the vinaigrette sauce. Not a hint of fishiness and every bit of umami. The brussels sprout appetizer is done with cranberry vinaigrette, and I honestly felt the tanginess was a bit much on this one. Sprouts themselves were roasted perfectly, but I would suggest playing with the sauce or providing options. The seafood platter had crab fingers, oyster, and a few others. Of note, the sauces really sell this dish. The cocktail sauce is standard, but the tartar and (real) horseradish really shine. Oysters were fresh and clean. Chocolate mousse for dessert was very dense, more than I am used to. It's very rich in flavor, and paired perfectly with the fruits on top. Diabetics beware! Overall, Tonight and Tomorrow is unique in its heritage and branding, stands out as a great French seafood restaurant, and made for an experience to remember.

Yelp
The bar was deafening with 10 people in it. We were charged for ice in our drinks $1.00) and some ridiculous $15 upgrade on a Manhattan that we didn't ask for. Never going back.

Yelp
My friends and I had a lovely dinner here during Houston Restaurant Week! First off, La Colombe d'Or Hotel is such a beautiful boutique hotel and their restaurant is worth the hype. We sat in their beautiful sun room during this visit. I had the chargrilled octopus, heritage chicken, and the raspberry clafoutis. The octopus was a large portion and was perfectly cooked. The chicken was very juicy, and again a larger-than-expected portion. Lastly, the raspberry clafoutis wasn't overly sweet and went perfectly with the vanilla ice cream. We also ordered their seafood tower to share, and it was a real treat! The seafood was so fresh and beautifully presented. Our server was very attentive, and valet parking is available. Would love to visit again!

Yelp
After doing some extensive research, I decided to check the bar at this restaurant out. It is located inside a beautiful boutique hotel and you are even allowed to tour around the upstairs rooms and outside. My husband and I had a lovely experience. The bartenders were the most professional ones I've ever met! I like super sweet drinks and the ones that we got per recommendations weren't that great to me personally but it didn't take away from my positive experience.

Yelp
Loved this very unique, historical while fresh hotel restaurant. It captures the history and charm of its past but presents a classy, upscale and place to enjoy. We had a great table in the front dining area near the beautiful chandelier. I'd love to sit there again. Service was solid, friendly and helpful. We never felt rushed and we pleasantly lingered. We had the crab appetizer that was delicious. Cross between a crab salad and crab cake. I had the corn ravioli that were delicious and quite filling. My friends steak looked good and the fries are delicious! I had their most popular martini drink, a lively bottle of Sancerre and closed with their Carajillo interpretation. All were good. The atmosphere is fun yet elegant. They have a beautiful chic bar that reminds me of nyc spots. Also a lovely patio area if it's a nice night. It was definitely pricy but worth it for the escape, experience and indulging in a little of everything. Look forward to going back!

Yelp
I was really excited to give Tonight & Tomorrow a try recently. I loved the decor and the opportunity to experience the La Colombe d'Or. However, it did feel like Tonight & Tomorrow was a bit of a work in progress in a few ways. - The brunch menu is not available before 11 a.m. on the weekend, which was rather puzzling. Do note, if you reserve before 11 a.m., you will be limited to the breakfast menu only. Tonight & Tomorrow should really consider making brunch available at 10 a.m. - Would be great to see a dedicated breakfast/brunch drink menu. They do have the capability to make mimosas and other drinks, but they're not on a menu. - There's almost no fruit on the menu. It would be nice to have some fruit served with the breakfast/brunch items, or at least as a substitution for the potatoes. - The dining room had no background music, making it eerily quiet if nobody is talking. Food and drinks were good, decor was awesome, and I really appreciated that there was no fee for the hotel's valet parking (gratituity aside). A few small changes would make a big impact. Look forward to returning and seeing how they evolve.

Yelp
I was looking for a nice restaurant to eat with my wife when we had someone watching the kids, and I came across Tonight & Tomorrow a long time ago and bookmarked it. It's part of a really nice B&B, with gorgeous decor, its an old charming mansion and that grandiosity definitely shows in the restaurant. The salad, pasta and cocktail were all absolutely top notch. We took advantage of their new 2 course lunch special and mostly likely everything we got. The descriptions were accurate, offerings were lively and flavorful, and wait staff (particularly Christian) were knowledgeable and inviting. On the fish sandwich, I will say the filet was a bit too big, I wish it was thinner so it wasn't so overpowering relative to everything else in the dish. It was generous to give such a thick cut but despite being part of a sandwich it was like eating the fish by itself, which wasn't what I was aiming for in this meal! Anyways I would definitely come again, maybe be more selective on what i order, but I do think I got what I ordered, just that I didn't make the best choice for myself! I mean honestly sitting at the table was like being in an art installation, just the views alone warrant a return trip!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday evening for dinner. They have street side parking and complimentary valet. The ambiance is beautiful - very refined, sleek, and elegant. We started with the crab ravigote, which was very good and flavorful. For entree, I went with the catch of the day (snapper), but I thought it was strange that they already had a snapper dish on their menu. Typically, I expect the special or catch of the day to be different from a fish already listed on their menu, but it came with different supporting characters...so I went for it. I thought it was really well executed. Service was friendly, and they gave us a tour of the hotel afterwards. The rooms are stunning. Also came here on a separate occasion for Sunday brunch. Ordered the chilaquiles, which I really enjoyed. The tortillas were crisp and contrasted nicely with the other components of the dish. Their cocktails are on point. The golden path spritz is wonderful for brunch - well balanced and not overly sweet. The truthsayer (gin, honey, lime, cardamom, sparkling wine) is also delightful.

Yelp
Lovely concept and setting with a classic fine dining ambience. The service started attentive and very promising that eventually went downhill. I dont usually give poor remarks to restaurants as I know the restaurant industry is competitive and times can be challenging, but certain aspects of our group dining experience led to the decision. If you see my attached photos you can see that there are two versions of French toast served. 1 was the expectation..a beautiful brioche toast. The other was the reality which was not bad BUT not as described and paled in comparison WITHOUT notice to the customer until I inquired about it. Yes, the entree was removed from the bill which was appreciated but I defer back to the point that the customer was not notified of any such substitutions being made until the staff was specifically asked. Following that, the duck confit gumbo was overly salted. Having dined in amazing establishments in both Louisiana and France, this duck confit gumbo did not bring forth any positive resemblance to either described. In addition, I had to go get my own spoon to eat it with as well. In summary, service and taste would benefit from an upgrade and a better attention to detail to correspond with the beautiful aesthetic this establishment offers. There's so much more potential here!

Yelp
Beautiful location and look. Enjoyed all the food I tried. When the pianist left however, it was "deafingly" quiet....we were whispering and laughing it was so awkward at moments. I was craving scallops like woah, so I got them, but $18 for 2 scallops is a bit intense. Was not a cheap brunch, but good food and location. Drinks take a while, even water and staff seems a bit unsure, but are very nice. Place is newer, so excited to try again when more established.

Yelp
Hidden inside lacolombedor hotel is a chic restaurant. The food was phenomenal. Great attention to detail and visual pleasing. Nice touch of garnish with seeds on the chilaquiles. It adds a great texture component to the dish. Having chicken on it made it even better. I haven't seen any place with meat on chilaquiles. Loved it! The patio is peaceful with a nice water feature. Perfect for brunch outside on a beautiful day. Creative brunch cocktails. The coffee one was great.

Yelp
The idea for this restaurant is great but it didn't quite hit the mark. Really nice aesthetic and ambiance but the food wasn't too great. I got the Croque Madame, which was decent but didn't blow me away. The fries were delicious. Very limited food and drink menu, overpriced for the size and taste. The hotel is gorgeous, might try the restaurant again at some point.

Yelp
My friends and me went for brunch and the restaurant was super cute it's located facing montrose definitely can not miss it. Rajasthan Royal was my drink of choice and it was good definitely recommend if you like passion fruit. For my main meal I had eggs Benedict it was so good and for my dessert I had the fruity pebble ice cream sammie you will definitely love if you like guava.

Yelp
Great staff, I wish I had known about this hotel cause I would have stayed here. The chilaquiles sauce was amazing and this is coming from a very special Mexican who grown up eating chilaquiles ( I would even call myself a Chilaquiles connoisseur). My friend Vanessa and I ordered the Lemon French Toast (which Vanessa said it wasn't that good but she ate the whole thing so judge by yourself) m. I think it was missing a little bit more ice cream but it was good. The banana one ( which is not in the picture) was good. Def would come back to try the Lox one which I didn't cause nobody has say any review about it. Will do next time xoxo

Yelp
Excellent brunch and the service was OUTSTANDING!! Everyone was friendly and very courteous. The breakfast was very good. We had the biscuit royale and the burger. They were both very good. The restaurant is in a very old hotel. Beautiful decor - very tastefully redone recently. We will be back.

Yelp
Absolutely THE best mashup of classic elegance and modern sophistication. I knew that La Colombe d'Or shutdown for a couple of years in order to complete a massive renovation by Sims Luxury Builders and Rottet Design, but I was truly blown away by the finished product. I am so pleased that they were able to maintain the true character of this historic mansion while also updating and becoming more accessible to the modern diner. The staff seems younger, diverse, extremely capable and definitely service oriented. Hands down the best hotel bar in the city... think Bemelmans Bar, New York City or Connaught Bar, London. Try the french onion soup, kale salad, gravlax carpaccio, steak frites, snapper, burger, pineapple cheesecake, popcorn ice cream... You WILL thank me later! We started on the front porch with an aperitif and our baby absolutely loved the new swing!!! We then moved to the huge outdoor patio where it was very pleasant eating and ended the night by the fireplace and lounge area. Highly recommend for the food, ambiance and experience!!!

Yelp
Went there for Sunday brunch. Food was great, as was the service. The dining room is truly beautiful.

Yelp
Came in for breakfast on a Saturday, had heard some good things from some people...found myself underwhelmed. Service: While the staff themselves were very friendly, the service itself was very slow. I ordered a second Mimosa, we honestly thought they had just forgot I ordered one, since it took so long. The place was dead, so not sure what was going on. Everything just seemed a little slower than it should be. Food: I ordered the Chilaquiles and they were good. Nothing amazing, but a nice flavor and a good size (not sure if worth the $16, just a little overpriced). The Mimosas tasted a bit off to me, not sure if the champagne or the orange juice, definitely not my favorite I've had in Houston. Atmosphere: It's definitely a chill place. Lots of separate rooms with tables, so it's interesting. It was cute. Honestly just got the third star because the staff were very nice, but everything else just seemed blah. Maybe breakfast is just not the time this place shines, but I'm in no rush to return.

Yelp
We had a delightful brunch at Tonight & Tomorrow. The restaurant is beautiful--from what I hear, it's newly remodeled, and the style is what I'd call old-world modern. Lovely. The bar/lounge area is also beautiful, and I can see it as a nice spot for drinks. And the food is delicious. I ordered the biscuit entree, which came with an egg, sausage and mini potatoes, all of which were so good--I particularly liked the biscuit and potatoes. Service was great--our group risked it and brought a baby to this fancy restaurant, and the staff was so nice and accommodating.

Yelp
A very nice ambiance and good service. When it comes to the food I had the dinner menu for starter I had ceased salad, crudos, and pork skewers. Of all the appetizers the pork was most amazing as it was soft and very flavorful 8/10. The crudos was 7/10. And the ceaser salad 5/10 it was quite salty for my taste. The stake Frits was okay. I also had the foie gras they paired it stone fruit, bourbon sabayon, and maple gastrique. The pairing of tart with foie gras was well paired. 9/10. The stake was most basic but the fries that pairs with the sauce of aioli was most amazing I had asked for more aioli sauce 7/10. Overall I gave it a 4 star because of food wasn't something that amazed my palate.

Yelp
Dear foodie readers, want to dine in a glitzy, Art Deco at its finest, not to mention charm and historic restaurant...look no further. La colombe D'or is divine, in the heart of Montrose, it has been wining and dining guests for decades....recently remodeled, it still has the same facade of the mansion it was once in 1923. The restaurant is art itself, from the food, decor and of course art all around the hotel. Now to the food, pure mouth watering wonder, go try it! They change their menu seasonally, so some of the items we tried are no longer there, but honestly everything we had was sheer perfection, and we tried a lot...service was phenomenal, and vibe was fun! Book your date for the holidays!

Yelp
Excellent. Great atmosphere, great staff, great food. Really enjoyed dinner and the drinks are unique and fantastic. Order East of the Pecos. We'll be back and breakfast sounds great too.

Yelp
Beautiful old mansion building. Excellent service. We were lucky to get a table on the glass paneled terrace and have a beautiful view. The food was fantastic: my yellowtail tuna tartar with whisper thin crackers was out of this world, scallops were tender and oh so tasty. Warm raisin buns were perfect. The only disappointment was the dessert: profiteroles were made beforehand and since they use ice cream instead of whipped cream, frozen to stone, including the dough which was supposed to be airy and tender. However my family enjoyed their warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. Expensive but totally worth it.

Yelp
I really love food and was looking forward to staying at this hotel and having dinner here. I suppose the restaurant is fine for people passing through and looking for convenient fine dining without straying far. But this is certainly not a destination restaurant. It's a lovely space decorated well. The salad had barely any detectable dressing on it (I do prefer light dressing as it is) and the dried apples were too fleshy a texture for a salad, it just didn't work. The pork chop was the best thing with excellent flavor, but I always find it such a shame when it's literally just the meat entree and zero flare when you're paying high prices. No roasted cauliflower puree or Chinese broccoli or perhaps wild rice, nothing. Very underwhelming presentation. The salmon came wrapped in some kind of husk. Rather than put the plate in front of my husband, the server awkwardly struggled untying the string on the serving cart for some time, eventually discarding the burnt string on the clean silverware. Then he used the silverware to remove the fish from the husk and onto the plate, utterly disheveled. As if that wasn't already quite unnecessary, he then took the fork and attempted to prop the four cherry tomatoes on top of the fish, failing several times and proceeding to slop the sauce clumsily across the plate. I've never seen anything so ridiculous and had to muffle some laughter until he walked away. Please, don't make your servers go through such ridiculous pains! Nobody needs that, I promise. Anyway, my biggest pet peeve is constantly being thirsty for water and never seeming to get anyone's attention for such a simple need. I spent over a decade in the service industry and find lack of water on a table pretty unforgivable when I'm paying for $50 piece of salmon and zero sides to speak of.

Yelp
Was excited to try this place out. Decor and vibe is very nice; however, food and drink was very, very subpar, and annoyingly overpriced. We asked waiter what he recommended - of course he just listed the entire menu. Then again, that didn't take long bc there isn't much selection, and what they have is super unimaginative (shrimp cocktail, carrots, steak frites, brick chicken, market fish, $66 lamb chops). First came the cocktails, which had almost no booze. Fiancée and I both ordered the Inez, which has tequila and mezcal. You taste mezcal. Not this time - was just a lot of syrup. Then the shrimp cocktail, which the waiter was taking up bc it has a Mexican-inspired sauce with a lot of flavor and some spice. Not true - it was regular cocktail sauce. The carrot app was actually the best thing we had - pretty decent flavor combo. I had the steak frites. I will say it was cooked properly (medium rare). But the beef was of relatively poor quality, and the fries and bernaise were cold. I had a glass of Nebbiolo that seemed to have come straight out of a box. Fiancée had a margarita and said it was very meh. I think the meal quality would be worth three stars, but for the ridiculous prices make it practically an outrage. I don't mind paying for quality, but the 8oz steak frites for $47 when the meat was prob from Kroger and the fries came cold is not worth the premium. Total bill for the aforementioned items was $150 without tip. Then, the valet took like 8 min to get our car. Too bad. Maybe they need a few weeks to get their act together, but the fundamentals were pretty bad so I don't have much faith.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my lunch here. With the renovation I knew I wanted to check out this spot. I absolutely love the classic vibes in the dining hall and their art pieces. It's feels like you are in the 1920s mansion. The staffs were all polite and friendly and their food was so good. I guess the only downside is the menu is quite limited and same goes for dinner menu. Parking is complimentary valet. I really liked the dark green velvet sofa and the pillows, they were super soft. I would prob check out the hotel too!

Yelp
We came here for my belated birthday celebration in late May. It didn't seem to be busy, however, took a very long time to order or even have someone attend us. The most disappointing part was the foie gras was ice cold inside! Informed our waiter and said he will let the chef know. Guess what? He never came back until time for our check! Someone else served our main courses and drinks! May not come back again if this is the type of services it offers

Yelp
Wanted to give this new restaurant a shot but I was, unfortunately, disappointed. Perhaps I chose a wrong date or time. Both of the things I ordered were not available (appetizer and main entree). Ended up ordering the pork chop which was ok, a bit undercooked. The place is nice and service was good. Price is on the higher side. Will give it another chance for brunch.

Yelp
Well I enjoyed myself so much we kept ordering things so we could stay and not feel bad just for sitting there and taking up their table. The inside to get outside is beautiful and the decor is sleek and swanky( see pics). Our waiter was Sergio who's not only easy on the eyes but attentive and professional. We came for brunch and enjoyed all we ordered. Appetizers, the meal, dessert and coffee. We sat on the beautiful outdoor patio that also has a water feature. Go enjoy this lovely space and palate pleasing menu.

Yelp
Omg look no further the food is delicious the ambiance is drop dead gorgeous. I can't wait to go back. Be sure to spend a few minutes walking around enjoying the beautiful artwork.

Yelp
Food was mediocre, service was terrible. We ate there once previously for dinner a few months ago. That night there were only 3 tables with guests in the entire restaurant. Again food was subpar for Houston, and service was aweful. Then we ate there again a month or so ago for Sunday brunch and we were much more impressed with food quality and service. This time service and food quality was absolutely unacceptable. This time sealed the deal. We will not be back!

Yelp
This restaurant has come up on occasion, in casual discussion, but I've never taken the opportunity to visit, I should have. This restaurant is located in a historic Montrose mansion, that is unbelievably well preserved. The staff was incredible, they were friendly and helpful and a joy to interact with. Also the setting and ambiance was delightful, there was upbeat French music playing for the outside back patio dining area, which was bathed in sunlight and showcased sculptures and beautiful landscaping. The icing on the cake was the food, it was delicious. We started out with a double espresso & latte. The espresso was very smooth and had no trace of bitterness, indicating quality beans and a proper heating temperature, great start. After that we ordered the date and goat cheese salad, which had amazing flavor and very well balanced ingredients. Next on the list was the montrose. Being the more traditional breakfast offering, it still was able to surprise and fulfill. The eggs came out hot and with great texture and flavor ( we opted for scrambled) and the veggie sausage, while a little drier than a meat based one would have been, was very tasty. Last on the list was the chilaquiles, one of my go-to for breakfast dishes. This dish did come out at room temperature, which was a negative, but the remaining experience was great. It was extremely flavorful, and had a bit of spice at the end of the bite. It was also quite a decent sized dish and I wasn't able to finish the entire entree. All in all, this was a wonderful experience and I will be returning.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place!! And I'm sure I got the wrong thing on the menu. I got the avocado tartine and it was terrible!!!!!! I'm not sure if there wasn't supposed to be any egg or if it's mixed in but it was tangy. Nice area and staff tho!!

Yelp
A group of us went to this restaurant in the newly renovated La Colombe D'Or on Friday night. We all were so pleased with the ambience, the European vibe and the food. The food was magnificent. We had the Steak and Frites which were the best in town without question. Don't miss the crab starter, we all loved it. We can't wait to go back. This restaurant is a must do.
