The Best Of The Rest: 28 More New London Restaurants We Loved This Year

"What with the bad luck of Supa Ya’s first restaurant opening coinciding with the beginning of the pandemic, the pop-up found a new location in Dalston to serve their excellent cult takes on ramen. Expect big bowls and winding queues outside on weekends." - jake missing, rianne shlebak

Service - Gifty was amazing, so warm and welcoming, brilliant service and was so polite. 10/10 service and made our whole experience so much better. The broth was warm and soothing, the noodles were springy and perfectly cooked, the chicken was tender and juicy, the edamame's were fresh and tasty, the lemonade was cold and extremely good. It was filling and left me super satisfied. Would 100% recommend the Shoreditch branch.

My first experience and it was made all the better by the service from Lenka as she was fabulous. Made me feel comfortable and looked after me very well. I had wanted a ramen and thought I’d try this place. When the ramen arrived I was surprised because the broth was white. Not the usual brown colour. I liked it. Not sure I’d have it again but I did like it. Just not as much as the usual brown broth ramen. Inside, the device is lively. All in all, I’d try it again, just with a ‘normal ‘ ramen.

Great place! We really enjoyed the chilli chicken ramen and veggie gyozas. Cauliflower bites stole our heart! Service was excellent and very helpful when it comes to making a choice regarding the food. We were impressed by the smaller portions option to reduce food waste. Would eat there again when I’m next time in London! 😊

Great outside sitting area. £10 lunch deal is lovely.. I got 3 cute gyoza and a decent portion of chilli chicken ramen. Both are delicious and ramen is absolutely the star of the show, right texture of noodle, good temperature of broth, excellent pulled chicken and egg. Staff are helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended!!!

The food is great and not heavy (sometimes ramen and fried chicken can be both pretty greasy), I would say really close to authentic japanese food. The icecream sandwich as well was memorable. The atmosphere could be be a better… especially because on the night we went it was so cold inside.

The host, Maryan, was lovely and accommodating. She ensured I had a nice quiet seat where I could enjoy my dinner. The food was lovely- the music was a little loud for my liking - but overall it was nice! The restaurant was full and people seemed to be having a great time. So- the other food items must be good too!

The two ladies who served me on the 12th of April deserve a raise. I went there on a Saturday, it was 9pm and despite being tired they were still so friendly and served me very well. The tonkotsu I ordered was spectacular, yes, but what amazed me was the service. I asked to take part of my dish home, and because they mistakenly threw away my leftovers, they made another one for me immediately, no additional charges. I became a restaurant fan, and will definitely return! 10/10 experience.

I had the gyoza and spicy chicken ramen and would definitely choose it again! I had both of these for £10. A really good price if you'd ask me for a side and a ramen. The gyoza was so good that I was thinking of ordering more even though I was full! These were maybe the best gyozas I've had. They were steamed and pan-fried, which is my favorite way to prepare dumplings! The gyoza was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Super delicious! The chicken broth was savory and rich. I almost drank all of the broth, which says a lot because I normally don't drink that much of the broth. Definitely go here if you like dumplings and ramen!

Yelp
Lovely casual little place. I had the prawn ramen which was delicious . Staff were super nice too. Not too busy and didn't need to have a reservation.

Yelp
Great food and place overall! Gyoza was good, slightly under-seasoned for my preference but juicy and crisp. I liked the Tonkotsu chili they have at the tables though to use! I've had a lot of ramen in my life and this one doesn't necessarily stand out but it's not subpar either. I really do appreciate that they offer a small size though so that way you can still get a good taste for the ramen but have room for other dishes on the menu! Curry was great and I was surprised at how much I liked the fried courgettes, I feel like most times they are too soggy but these were perfectly crunchy! Drinks were solid as well. Service was great -- not one dedicated server, everyone checked on us and were extremely polite. Atmosphere is laid back and casual, so its a nice spot to come in later in the evening for quick solid bites! Would come again! **they gave us complimentary sake when they found out when we were on our honeymoon! So sweet!

Yelp
I was so excited to try a new Ramen place in Shoreditch and came here when they had just opened their new location. When we placed our order, we were told that several ingredients were not available (why not tell us when giving us the menu?), so we ordered something else. I wasn't too impressed by either of the 2 Ramen we had, and the service just wasn't great overall. I have to say, there are too many other good Ramen restaurants in this area for me to return to this particular one.

Yelp
A new branch of Tonkotsu opened in Shoreditch and we were very disappointed. We ordered Tonkotsu and Tokyo ramens and both lacked flavour. Particularly the latter was very bland. The only nice thing about them was the pork. The service was a disaster. We asked our waitress not to put pork scratchings in Tokyo Ramen. After she went away, she came back to tell us the stock was pork-based (in reality it was chicken based). It became clear later when it arrived without braised pork. Obviously she asked the chef to remove both pork scratching and braised pork. So we asked the other waitress to bring us the braised pork but she took the bowl away and our original waitress came back to see what we needed. We told her the braised pork was missing , but she didn't know it was supposed to be in, so we showed her the menu. A few minutes later, it came back and the noodle was overcooked. There are other tastier tonkotsu ramen restaurants in London, so don't bother with this chain.
