"With three locations in Saint Paul, Maplewood, and Coon Rapids, Tono dedicates itself to several styles of cheesesteaks, served with a gamut of protein and cheese options. Take the order to the next level with some garlic aioli or chili oil on the side." - Ali Elabbady

The food was good. We ordered two Philly cheese steaks with different ingredients, and they were on point. I'm definitely coming back to try others. I didn't try the pizza, but it seemed OK. They make it in front of you. The service was so-so. It wasn't terrible, but the guy at the register seemed annoyed. The place was dirty; they needed a better job cleaning up after themselves in the kitchen and the tables. The floors were nasty. I understand it gets busy, but a dirty kitchen and seating area are unacceptable. Also, as a customer, you should clean up after yourself.

As Someone who lived in Pa and went to all the spots. This comes really close to a south Philly cheese steak. Provo cheese was on point. Onions where great. Bread was awesome although not a sesame roll, was still great. Steak was amazing. Got a wiz one as well. Both very good. Tried the pizza as well. Very good pizza. And the speed they do this is very on par with south Philly. 3-4 minutes. Was a great find.

Google
Delicious pizza! The ingredients were fresh and the pizza was hot. Couldn't ask for anything better. The service was friendly, fast and I love their sauces. The tonos pizza was one of the best I've had. A little spicy but very flavorful.

Unbeknownst to the cashiers, we always get the number 17 when dining here. I have not had anything I don’t love. As a vegetarian, the possibilities are endless! It hits all the flavor profiles. Absolutely delicious! The ambiance takes you straight to Italy. The music, the smells , the decor.

My brother is in from South Carolina and was craving a cheesesteak and pizza… No better place than Tonos. Will be returning soon to try more of this amazing menu.

This Hawaiian is THEE best pizza I've ever had! Service is amazing and they now have a customer 4life! Don't walk, ruuun to TONOS

Google
I've driven past Tono's many times and have heard good things, but today I was able to stop in and try it. Oh, man, I'm glad I did! The cheese steak sandwich may have been the best I've ever had. Everything that was coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. Service was fairly fast, even though the place was packed. 10/10 I'd highly recommend, and definitely going back.

Google
We’ve had Tono’s half a dozen times and it is always so good! The Pineapple Express is insane, and the salad is fresh with a delicious dressing. They also have a great rewards program…you basically get a free pizza on your next visit after signing up. Friendly staff, cheap beer and wine, great for a casual date or takeout. We recommend it highly!

Yelp
I love Tono; they're within biking distance of our house & are definitely a rival to Punch in terms of pizzas. The store itself is okay, it's definitely funcional over being cute. The staff have always been really kind & helpful, though. Today we learned that this location has a Tuesday special where you buy a pizza & drink, get a pizza & drink free! They're calling it Tono Tuesday, which is cute. A lot of college kids showed up for the special, so beware that your wait may be longer on a Tuesday. I get the Margherita pizza, which is a classic. It's perfectly salty & I've never had it be overcooked. My only complaint is that the toppings tend to all slide off when you take a bite, usually when it's gotten a bit colder. Overall, though, this is a super tasty pizza. I really like that they have cups of sauces available, too; the balsamic reduction & hot honey are really good. My husband got the Spicy Tono but said he wished he would've ordered the standard Tono, just because it has more toppings. He still definitely enjoyed the pizza but it wasn't his absolute favorite.

Michael H.

Yelp
I had some pizzas at their Woodbury location. They were delicious. The tables inside the restaurant are a little hammered, but that did not take away from the flavors and delicious pizza crust. If you are shopping at the Target, stop in and order a pie.

Alex L.

Yelp
Their big, sloppy cheesesteak sandwich is SO GOOD! I was just going to take a quick bite before getting a photo, but somehow ate almost all of it without stopping to breathe. I got one with onions, green pepper and mushrooms, and just half meat, but even that was bursting at the seams. They smother it in garlic aioli and your choice of cheese (I chose Cheez whiz, of course) and put it on a pile of fries. It seems like too much sauce at first, but when you realize that you can also dip the fries in the sauce, it's just the right amount. We also got a margherita pizza, which was tasty too. Zingy sauce, nice chewy light crust. I got mine to go, and it was still hot when I got home. Do not attempt to eat this in the car!

Yelp
Tonos will never let you down for real! Now this is bomb pizza especially when it's BOGO Tuesdays! :) The service is so great. The staff is so kind. The place is spacious and it's right next to Macalester college. Now the pizza is just so good. I usually get the spicy tono's! It has the perfect amount of spice but the honey mixes in so well. It's also really cool that they have their own little grab and go sauce fridge for pizza dipping! The sauces just make it 10x better. Nothing better than a brick oven pizza tho! I def recommend!! :)

Eric J.

Yelp
Gross this pizza was super burnt. Cannot believe this what we got. Please be careful when ordering take out!

Stacy A.

Yelp
Great spot right across the street from Mcalester college. My husband is from Philadelphia and of course he struggles to find the foods he loves in the twin cities. I came across the Yelp page for Tono and was excited to see that they claim to have authentic cheesesteaks. We gave them a try and were not disappointed! The cheesesteak tastes very similar to those we get in Philly! The restaurant is clean, well organized sized and the employees were friendly. I wish I knew that all the sauces were complimentary; I grabbed a hot honey but next time I will try some of the creamy sauces in the fridge on the counter!

Ethan T.

Yelp
The regular size salad is large enough to split with two people. Their cheesesteaks are packed full of meat! I've been to several Tono locations around the Twin Cities. Their quality control & service is great at all of them. I LOVE that you can get arugula on a pizza.

Andrea K.

Yelp
I much prefer the pizza to the cheesesteak even though I want to love the cheesesteak.

Peter P.

Yelp
Stopped by their Mac-Groveland shop. Ordered South Philly cheesesteak (picture doesn't serve justice to how big the sandwich is); it comes with fries and I upgraded it to truffle Parmesan fries. Also ordered Margherita pizza (again the medium size brick oven pizza is too large for the price). You can pick variety of sauces displayed by the drink machine. There is plenty parking spot behind the store on top of convenient street parking.

Michael D.

Yelp
Went there around 9:19pm and ordered the phillycheesesteak supreme and it was gas!!! Service pretty chill very clean area as well!!

Michael H.

Yelp
I wasn't expecting cheap but it was more expensive than I thought it would be. But my biggest complaint is that they don't take cash, which means I won't be back. And of course it's another counter service place wanting us to provide a tip on top! Just say no!

Rick F.

Yelp
Tono in Coon Rapids has become a regular spot for us particularly on BOGO Tuesday. Food never disappoints. We are very fond of the Tomo and Don Pepe. Want to try one of their cheesesteaks as I have heard they are fabulous. Very accommodating and friendly staff.

Joshua G.

Yelp
Solid pizza and okay cheesesteaks. When you see a brick oven you know you are getting good pizza and that's what Tono's does. In addition to classic pepperoni they are crafting unique flavors and combinations. The cheesesteaks on the other hand are decent but not "knock your socks off" delicious. You do get plenty of meat with you cheesesteak, but they are dry and lack garlic.

Michael M.

Yelp
Great late night Uber eats spot. Cheesesteaks are the best I've had and everything comes correct. Will continue to order regularly.

Jarrod F.

Yelp
First time in St. Paul's, was here for a business trip. Didn't know too many restaurants near my hotel so I turned to Yelp and it recommended Tono, was glad that it did! I ended up ordering the South Philly cheesesteak with jalapeños, garlic aioli (a must!), and a side of truffle fries. The portion size was extremely generous and worth the price point. Ordered a cookie for dessert as well and it was huge and tasty Only reason I'm giving the actual meal a 3/5 is because I ordered through Uber eats and the food was cold by the time it got to me. Even cold, it was still pretty delicious so I'm certain it could easily be a 5/5 when hot and freshly made. If in the area, I would definitely recommend it.

Jade W.

Yelp
We took advantage of the $2 beer or wine (with purchase of pizza, cheesesteak, or salad) deal: Wine comes with a pre-chilled glass (Yey!) BUT tap beer comes in a plastic fountain soda cup (ney!) I truly wish their menu wasn't so dang small! Luckily, another customer in line shared their one paper menu copy with me and we chatted about what looked good. The no. 12 pizza was good! it's wood fired, so think punch pizza, and the price range is about the same too. I didn't think it was spicy despite the chili oil, but it was tasty. The flavor wasn't super complex but still hits the spot! Only negative note is that it was very greasy/oily. I would order again. My fav thing about Tono is their variety of dips and sauce they have available (for freeeee). Today I tried the hot honey (not actually hot :() and the honey ranch (perfect for dipping crust)!

Michael K.

Yelp
Shoutout to fellow Yelpers Jade I and Ralph M for their reviews on Tono Pizzeria + Cheesesteaks. Their reviews made me want to try both the No. 12 Tono pizza (red sauce, sausage, pepperoni, caramelized onions, caramelized tomatoes, Tono red chili oil) and the No. 1 South Philly cheesesteak (steak, house made cheese whiz, grilled onions, and I added garlic aioli). Pizza: I was a little caught off guard with the sweetness of the pizza. With those ingredients I didn't expect that flavor component (I'm definitely not a pineapple on pizza guy) so at first I was a little disappointed but as I continued to eat the slice, it grew on me and I really ended up enjoying it. Talk about a rollercoaster of emotions lol. Also don't believe what others might say, that red chili oil is spicy (particularly if you don't like spice). Cheesesteak: Phenomenal beyond words. I've never personally had a cheesesteak on the east coast but it was pretty darn good! My biggest mistake was not trusting the process and adding garlic aioli, which was smothered on top of the cheese whiz and kind of overpowered some of the taste. Thankfully I was able to scrape most of it off but the cheesesteak was phenomenal. Truffle fries were just OK, they looked good but there wasn't much truffle oil to be found so it tasted more like straight up parm fries, which is fine, but I was expecting more truffle taste. I'd pass on the fries next time. Eating at Tono's Pizzeria is your ticket to flavor-town. Just choose wisely, or try a bunch of things from the menu with a group of friends. Will definitely be back to try other pies!

Hickory C.

Yelp
Just tried this for the first time and loved it! I love a good thin crust cheese pizza and the Classico Pizza was perfection! My husband really enjoyed the South Philly Cheesesteak which lets you choose cheese whiz as an option. Will definitely be getting this again!

Neil S.

Yelp
Had an out of the blue craving for a cheesesteak. Figured Subway or JJs could do it, but Yelped for that on the whim and saw Tono had great reviews. Am not disappointed. I can't speak to how authentic or better/worse the sammy is, not being Philly. I can only say in the Boy Scouts we made cheesesteaks while camping a lot and this matches up with those distant flavor memories. Only really missing bell peppers, but I bet I could have asked for that. Ordered the Fresh Prince, impossible meat, added jalapeño.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
After becoming a fan of their #3 cheesesteak sandwich, but then having a sub-par experience with it, I ordered one of their pizzas to try during the same visit and it was fantastic! My subsequent experience with a take-away pizza order was great as well! Thin, crisp crust with places of black charred dough bubbles and tasty toppings are what I like most about this pizza. I will continue to keep this place in mind for a tasty quick meal when time and convenience dictate (or when a friend requests a pick-up on my way to their house).

Barrett H.

Yelp
So damn good. I grew up on the east coast eating cheesesteaks regularly and this place is super legit. You can order pretty much any style of cheesesteak, so people who get upset when a sub dares to include or exclude something will have no issues here. Get Cheese Whiz or get American cheese, it's your call. All of the protein was good (including the veggie option!) and every other ingredient was solid. The A-1 huge thing this place has right is the bread. The right sub roll for a cheesesteak needs to be solid enough to not fall apart, but very soft and pliable. This bread met every texture requirement, added flavor of its own, and was spongy enough to absorb the flavors of the other ingredients. Finally, our sandwiches and fries were delivered about 15 mins after they were made. Fries travel poorly and sandwiches can be a risk. Despite that, everything was delicious. The food clearly left the store hot and they managed to keep our food warm in recyclable material. I appreciate this place.

Eli H.

Yelp
The vibe at tono is casual. They have a traditional pizza oven and tons of dipping sauces and topping sauces you can try for free. You order and pay at the counter and they bring the food food to your table when it's ready. I thought the pizzas were average (I have had a lot of good pizza this year so it had some steep competition) but I thought the cheesesteak was the bomb! I would make the trip again just for the cheesesteak!

Ava C.

Yelp
I went to Tono Pizzeria on a Sunday around 11:30 for lunch. There was plenty of parking behind the restaurant and the restaurant was quiet given it was before noon. My friend and I were able to walk up to the counter and order our meals immediately. The employees were very nice and gave us handheld menus in addition to the menus that were already posted on the walls and they were very attentive. After ordering there is a small fridge to pick topping sauce from. I highly recommend choosing some sauces as they were all so tasty and added an awesome flavor. There wasn't a ton of seating but not many people were there so we got a nice seat by a window. I ordered the burrata strawberry salad and it was great! The burrata was topped with a rich honey vinaigrette and when mixed with the strawberries and tomatoes was amazing and fresh. My friend ordered the Phat Tony and layered on honey, hot honey, and Tono's special sauce. The sandwich was divine. I had a few bites and my favorite part was the bread! This was the best bread on a sandwich I have had in a LONG time. I am excited to go back to try their pizzas:)

Sandra H.

Yelp
Pizza was very good! We ATe outside it was very crowded and very noisy inside . Delicious crust and flavorful juicy toppings I will go there again.

Matthew C.

Yelp
Good cheesesteaks for MN! Pretty good pizza. Would recommend... went there 3 times in 3 months.

Ryan E.

Yelp
I placed on online order, and had a coupon. The website gave me nowhere to enter the discount, so, I placed the order and took the coupon into the restaurant when picking up the order. I was then told that because the order was already placed, they could not apply the coupon. Bad business.

Déjà J.

Yelp
The first time I had Tono's was at a Yelp Elite event at the first location in Maplewood, we got to try a variety of menu items which helped me determine some of my favorites. I recently discovered this location was very close to where I live. Customer service was great, staff was very nice and friendly. Food was good as always. I ordered the No. 6 - Phat Tony, no bacon, chicken for the protein choice, pepper jack cheese. It was good, the only thing I wish was that it had a little bit more of the habanero jam. My sister got a cheesesteak, and she also enjoyed her food. I like to switch up what I get every other time I go, so next time I will get pizza, which like I said I tried before and really like it as well. There was street parking out front. They have indoor as well as outdoor sidewalk patio seating. Location was clean.

Eli C.

Yelp
I was extremely excited to order for here. Based on the reviews, I decided to try the #1 cheesesteak (steak, cheese wiz, onions, add garlic sauce). However, what I received was a bland steak sandwich with a couple of onions, and no cheese wiz nor no garlic sauce. In addition to that, the Parmesan fries I ordered came with more Parmesan than fries. Only reason I gave this two stars instead of one was because I ordered it through a delievery app, but it was still an extremely disappointing result, and I do not know if I would order from here again.

Ralph M.

Yelp
There are only a couple of spots in the Twin Cities where you can get a good, authentic Philly Cheesesteak. This is one of them and I'll even go so far to say they're leading the pack, so to speak. The St Paul storefront opened December 2020, having expanded from the original Maplewood location that had been a go-to since July 2019. With another Coon Rapids location opening in May 2021, they're clearly in high demand. And I'll confirm the hype. It's deliciously real. Tono blends an authentic experience of Sicilian brick oven pizza and Philly cheesesteaks focused on decades of recipe tightening, research, and quality. Right upon entering, your focal point will be the massive, brick pizza oven followed by dough being hand-stamped and tossed right in front of you. I'll be coming back for one, or five, of those! But I came for the cheesesteak, so cheesesteak I had. All varieties are made with choice of paper thin, sliced fresh prime beef or chicken (plant-based for an up-charge), choice of pepper jack, mozzarella, cheese whiz, provolone, or white american -- then nestled in a fresh-baked Amoroso's roll. Here's what we ordered: The Supreme ~ fresh grilled prime beef, onion, green pepper, jalapeño, and mushroom covered in house-made whiz in an Amoroso's roll. **I haven't been to Philly for comparison, but some close friends have told me this is the real deal and, as far as what I've tried, this is top boss. It's massive and although tough for me to finish, I still had to cut myself off cause the taste buds said yes while the stomach said no. This is a beautiful mesh of rich flavors. And I'm Team Whiz vs provolone or Swiss all day!** Definitely stop by one of their locations and I promise you'll be Livin!

Yelp
Single-serving Neapolitan pizzas, along with legit Philly cheesesteaks. Fast, accurate service. Lots of college kid clientele. BOGO pizza and pop special on Tuesdays.

John O.

Yelp
Best TC Philly Would eat the bread by itself Hope it sticks around I've had a quite a few cheesesteaks in the Twin Cities and had a good three to five in Philadelphia a couple years ago so I'm kind of an expert (not really). Hands down my favorite Philly in Minnesota. The bread is what really makes it standout. Toasted, fluffy and buttery. If they sold their rolls by themselves, I would stock up and make it a staple of my diet. Nice to see a new restaurant in the old St. Clair broiler spot. Hopefully, the college kids from Macalester across the street and some of the other nearby schools can help keep it afloat. It was pretty dead when I was there on this February 2021 COVID night.

Erin V.

Yelp
Everyone should plan for this place to be THE PIZZA place to hit up when in town. Nestled off Snelling just past Macalester campus is Tono serving up Pizza and Cheesesteaks. I will make the drive from BP for good food and I will be back if that says anything (especially now knowing it's close to my work when we ever do decided to get back in the office, this could be dangerous). We ordered Truffle Fries, Fungo Pizza and the Margherita Pizza (cause my daughter has to have anything with basil).... how do I put this in a classy way but not..I ate them dang fries the whole way home driving down 94..not kidding... Layla and I had to talk each other down for going back for more and the amount they give you insane! Now let's talk pizzas, I am sure someone would compare them to a punch... well... these are bigger then punch and OMG taste SOOO much better! Trust me I have 4 pizza snobs in the house! I had Fungo since I'm a mushroom/truffle kinda girl. If you make it and it has truffle I want it, plus added sausage and there is nothing left of it! Hahahaha! Layla killed her Margherita with chair dancing and all! Staff was super nice and helpful! She even shared that there are complimentary sauces at pick up. Per her recommendation to mix the Spicy Honey one with Ranch...where has this been all my life And if your an Instagram person that loves a good MN spot to take a picture, they have Babe and Paul mural outside. Parking is easy and is totally a kid friendly, chill place!

Norah T.

Yelp
Walked in and was very clean and pretty. Tonos is a walk in and order at counter restaurant. Lots of different options to choose from. I got the margherita pizza and the taste was very good and was cooked perfect. Pizza was liquidy though and lots of liquid would run off of it. I would definitely go again.

Jon H.

Yelp
Loved my meal from Tono's! Perfect date night takeout! Split pizza, fries, and a salad making the meal well rounded and full of different flavors. As a creamy pizza lover- I had to get the No. 16 Fungo pizza- so creamy and savory! Largest surprise of the meal was the large amount of truffle fries included in the order (much larger than the menu picture). Salad was fresh and not overdressed which can happen frequently with take-out. The tomatoes and mozzarella pushed this arugula based salad to perfection! Pick up process was quick and easy and staff were extremely friendly and upbeat! Can't wait to do takeout again soon!

Cassie M.

Yelp
Awesome new addition to the Mac-Groveland neighborhood in the long gone St. Clair Broiler location. Combo pizzeria and cheesesteaks, my boyfriend and I tried both and will definitely be back for more. For our first go round, we had the No. 5 Speziato (steak, provolone, grilled onion, habanero jam, prosciutto, peppadew), No. 2 South Jersey (plant based protein, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, without mayo), and split a No. 11 Margherita pizza (fresh mozzarella, basil, sea salt, extra virgin olive oil). The cheesesteaks come with fries, salty and crisp and perfect for dipping in the Tono red chili oil or Tono hot honey. I'm not sure which was the favorite part! Every bite was terrific. As a non-meat eater, I have to say how pleased I am with this veggie-friendly menu. Every cheesesteak can be made with a meatless option (using Impossible burger plant based protein), or steak or chicken if you prefer, although I am a bit disappointed by the $3 upcharge for non-meat protein making it a $16 sandwich. There are also lots of meatless pizza options for next time. On a final note, the friendly service is worth commending. I was impressed by how busy this place was on a Tuesday night, with a constant flow of customers in and out to order or pick up food. Despite the giant number at the top of your receipt and pick-up customers giving their order numbers, the counter staff insisted on calling every single order by name. A warm, polite, personal touch to counter service during the covid era. I look forward to visiting Tono again!

Tisha B.

Yelp
This new spot is a delightful addition to the Mac-Groveland village. Covid complaint - Freshly created and hand made pizza that is then pop into their brick oven stove. Meanwhile couple steps behind them wi where that Cheesesteak magic is happening. Bun was super fresh, just like all the ingredients. Plus topped on some fries. Stays open late, well late for these days. Staff very helpful and friendly. We will certainly be back again.

Jessica T.

Yelp
Tonight's takeout Friday was a heavenly mix of pizza, cheesesteaks and French fries. Oh Lordy talk about taste. The cheesesteaks had a great combo of meat, cheese and sauce. You can't go wrong with any of them. I got the mushroom but substituted Impossible Burger for steak. Rest of the family got classic cheesesteaks as well as the Primo pizza. I had been in a pizza slump, but this will be my regular pizza place. So much flavor. Family vote was that the regular fries are just as good as the truffle fries. The website has been updated and you can now order and pay online. Fantastic! So happy this business is in St. Paul. Takeout Tip: Remember to add a tip.

Suk P.

Yelp
Stopped by after a college tour. The staff was very friendly and checked up on us about our food. We had both the french fries and cheese fries as appetizers. Excellent. The cheeseteak was amble and very good. The Tono pizza was very well seasoned and the crust was excellent. This is a great stop.

Laurie A.

Yelp
Tono has one of THE best gluten free pizzas I've ever had. Not only is this place nice, new, and relatively affordable, they have a ton of menu options. I have gotten a few pizzas there but my favorite is by far the No. 19 Pepperoni Bianco. Made with white sauce, pepperoni, ricotta, hot honey, and chili oil it's so flavorful and unique. I am a huge fan of savory/sweet/hot combo and this pizza hits the spot. The gluten free crust is always cooked well, tasty, and has great texture. I can eat this whole 8 slice pizza in a single sitting if I want, but usually hold off because the leftovers are great. The sauces they make in house are awesome including the hot honey and the garlic aioli. Tono's is delicious and consistently delivers great food. It's dangerously close to me, so I need to be careful not to eat there multiple times a week. Definitely worth checking out!

Lara W.

Yelp
The food was really good and the workers were all friendly. Didn't give it 5 stars because the meat on the pizza was lacking. If we go back we'll ask for extra or just get a different pizza. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich was super good!

Kaylee B.

Yelp
Okay I love this pizza. I love the topping options they have and their menu. I've never tried a cheesesteak but I don't doubt Tono. The little sauces they have on the side are really great too: hot honey, chili oil, balsamic glaze. I always make sure to grab those on my way out. Everyone is always helpful and nice. I usually pick up and I've never had an issue. People in the twin cities always talk about punch pizza so go there if you like raw, soggy pizza. But, if you want a nice crispy, but still chewy crust, get Tono pizza

Dan D.

Yelp
We were in the mood for a tasty pizza and Tono's was our choice for the night. We ordered online for take out. My taste buds weren't overly inspired by the "favorites" menu so I looked at a Build Your Own option. My oh my! They definitely price their toppings in such a way as to make a simple pie very expensive quickly. Even if you start with one of their favorites and take a topping off there is no credit for less toppings. Needless to say we chose 2 basic pizzas, a Margherita and a Classico. Simple but hopefully tasty. I arrived a few minutes prior to the time the order was due. Wow, this place was doing a business. They had a line out the door and probably 7 or 8 people waiting for takeout orders. It seemed as though they had somewhat organized chaos. They were easily 15 minutes behind on takeout orders and the flood of new orders kept coming in. Regardless, my pizzas and salad were ready and I headed out. The Salad was very tasty and fresh. Nice ingredients and lots of tomatoes. The pizzas were ok. I guess my direct comparison would have to be Punch. The biggest difference between Tono's and Punch would have to be the sauce. Tono's sauce lacked the extra flavor and acidity that Punch has in their sauce. Otherwise the crust was tasty, the toppings plentiful and flavorful. It was a satisfying experience. I think the next time we are hungry for a Neapolitan style pizza we will make the drive to Punch but I am open to giving Tono's another try for pizza as well as for their cheesesteaks.

Julie N.

Yelp
Yesterday we ordered two pizzas from here via online ordering. The website indicated the pizza would be done quickly so we drove to pick it up. When we arrived we were told the pizzas were still in the oven. They were eventually removed from the oven, boxed, and cut. We took them home to find out the outer crust, toppings and raised areas were burnt. If we were dining in, we could send them back. All we could do at home was call and complain. But why should we? Someone there cooked the pizzas. Someone boxed the pizzas. Someone cut the pizzas. They all saw how they were burnt and sent them home to us anyway. Very disappointing.

Brittney B.

Yelp
This place is so bomb. Pizza is really good and cheesesteaks are even better in my opinion. My friend and her family come here quite often and have enjoyed everything they've tried so far. I only went once so far but the food exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to come back to try more. I ordered the #7 fresh prince with steak and tried a slice of #9 Classico pizza. Both amazing. The pizza was really good with honey on the side and chili flakes. Crazy combo, but it works. They have a bunch of free sauces you can take after ordering. Only thing I'll say about those is the chili oil is pretty worthless. It's just oil. No heat. The cheesecake was so yummy with lots of garlic aioli and meat. The ratio to toppings and bread was perfect. The bread was fresh. The fries were crispy and flavorful. Oh and this vegan cookie we got was also great. It's from a local company I believe. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Every town needs a Tono. I've raved about this team in my Frank From Philly and Andrea ("ahn-DRAY-ah") Pizza review, and I've had my fair share of fare from Tono P+C in White Bear Lake, and so their newest location in Mac-Groveland was warmly welcomed. Tono oozes authenticity with their Italian pizzas and Philly cheesesteaks. Their perfectly chewy and oven-charred pizza comes from a history of Italian family recipes, and their cheesesteaks are THE best you'll find in MN or anywhere outside of Philly, honestly. Their cheesesteaks boast the best ingredients imported straight from Philadelphia, like their incredible hoagies, which is SO important. Gotta get them wiz wit (cheese whiz + fried onions)! It's nice to go all out and pile on some parmesan truffle fries and house-made sauces onto your order too.

Yelp
I only wish I had tried this place sooner!! Hands down, best pizza in the metro, and fantastic service to go along with it. We had pepperoni pizza with hot honey and a south philly cheesesteak and were absolutely blown away. The pizza crust was perfection, and the sauce had a wonderful zing to balance the cheese and toppings. My husband was thrilled with the cheesesteak - excellent seasoning on the meat, and you can tell their bread is super fresh. The staff were all incredibly polite, which was so refreshing and appreciated. Thank you for an exquisite experience, Tono!

Yelp
Great food and quick service! The no 3 philly was huge and served over a bed of fries. They have tons of different sauces to choose from like garlic aioli, bbq aioli, hot honey, and more that you can help yourself to. Can't wait to go back and try the wood fired pizza and truffle fries. They have alcoholic beverage options as well. Free parking out front.

Yelp
Tono is still killing it! Tried the Phat Tony for the first time, it was amazing but A LOT. Can't really go wrong with habanero jam though, can you? Pizza was cooked to perfection, and mountain salad helped me pretend to be healthy. And the self serve sauce selection? Perfection.

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I'm a pizza lover and this is my favorite plaza. The crust is amazing and the toppings are too!
