Tony's Chicago Beef Company

I absolutely love everything about this place. From the owner Tony being a gem of a human being, to the food served up with love by Tony himself as he hand carves the beef, to the decor and feel of an old-time sandwich shop. When you do a few things really well, you don't have to have a huge menu and Tony does it really well. I'm already craving another sandwich. Tony, it wasn't a threat, I'll definitely be back 😆

This was our first time at Tony’s Chicago Beef Company and we had a great experience! The atmosphere is awesome — the nostalgic Chicago decor really makes you feel like you’ve stepped into the Windy City. We ordered a chili dog, a classic hot dog, fries, and a hamburger — everything was fresh and tasted great. The prices were very reasonable, and what really stood out was the staff. They were super welcoming and friendly, even while working hard during a busy rush. You could tell they genuinely care about their customers. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend giving this place a try.

Update 5/28/25: Took the dive and tried the Italian Beef. Damn good sandwich!! The bomb! Great atmosphere, service and the dawgs……. Delicious!! My favorite stop when in the area.

The absolute best. Came in an hour before close and Tony, the man, the myth, the legend, was still cranking out food. I make sure to stop here at least once when I'm in town. Thank you for the delicious food my friend.

The beef sandwich that dreams are made of..... So so good! Keep saying next time I'll try a Chicago dog but I can't because that beef is too delicious. True Chicago style. The guys are nice and the place is full of Chicago memorabilia. Try it!

The BEST Chicago Style Hot Dog I’ve ever had outside the Windy City. I knew it was going to be authentic when they had Green River in the drink case. The staff treat you like old friends at the neighborhood cookout. For anyone homesick for authentic Chicago style hot dogs and Italian Beef, this place is a god-send. 1000/10 highly recommend!

This place was awesome and had the real feel of a Chicago diner which was awesome the pizza is excellent but we where very disappointed in the Italian beef. Being from Chicago I've never in my life order a beef that came in a bowl I felt like I was eating it as a salad but the place is definitely worth going to.

Excellent Food, great owners/workers. Afyer several visits they now remember our order on a regular basis. Best hot dogs in Sarasota, from Shee Cawgo. Good prices for a combo of two dogs with fries.

The Italian Shaved Beef sandwich is big enough for 2 normal people, and costs less than chain store subs with half the meat. Get it "dipped" with a side of hot pepper salad. Service can be slow; only 2-3 people work there, but they own the place. Ambiance: Exact replica of a Chicago sandwich shop.

Went quite a bit out of our way to stop here since we enjoyed Tony's so much our last visit. Just as perfect as our last visit. I love consistency!

I know I give a lot of 5 star but when I do they deserve it. Being a Chicago boy I can absolutely say this place is legit. I had the beef extra with hot and it's great. My wife had the slaw dog and she said it was good. As for the atmosphere it made me feel like I was back home in the hole in the wall places I used to eat. The folks there served us just like I expected to be if I was back in Chicago. This is a must if you like Chicago beef, hotdogs or burgers.

Stopped by after day at the beach and didn't want a franchise chain restaurant. It was like walking into Chicago with all the memorabilia . Tony was a great guy , really enjoyed the two dog special and beer . The beef sandwiches smelled amazing and had a bite from my wife's burger that was good .

This place is the best small business restaurant in the area. Father and son owned I believe. Go there! The inside is so personal and Chicago oriented. Coolest Nic knacks hanging on the walls. They have the most authentic Chicago style hotdogs.and Chicago everything.

Came to try the Chicago taste of home here in Sarasota! Glad we did. The husband is from Chicago so of course he wanted the beef sandwich. Was leary at first but he was satisfied and dipped in the au jus. The dude preparing the food was a stitch, definitely a Chicagoan. I tried my first Chicago hotdog with no onions. I was told do not EVEN put ketchup on a Chicago hotdog ok, I didn't. But guess what?! I loved that hotdog prepared Chicago style: on a bun with those black seeds speckled on it and the glowing green relish, mustard and peppers (no onions, please). I should've bought the two dog option, but wasn't sure I would like it. But I did, very much. The fries that came with it were hot and fresh! I'm actually craving that whole thing right now! Loved the intimate restaurant filled with all the Chicago stars and sports memos & pics decorating the walls. It was a fun & yummy experience. Great place, great food Thanks!

Great place! The Sarasota location is a funky little joint decorated with Chitown photos and memorabilia, with the logos of the city's sports teams (except the Sox) embedded in the floor. Went there searching for an authentic Chicago style hit dog and was not disappointed. This is the real deal, Vienna beef dog on a big, soft, poppy seed roll, with all the traditional Chicago toppings -- mustard, onions, tomato, pickles, celery salt, and sport peppers. Dogs come with an order of their very good, fresh cut, fries.

Enjoyed the sandwich the Cheese Steak and another sandwich. The sandwiches can easily be split between 2 -3 people. French fries were real potatoes with great flavor. The service was great on time even though crowded. Would recommend again.

Simple, but, delicious. If I'd found this place when I arrived here, I would most likely have eaten here each of my remaining 6 days. Tony is really cool. The real deal.

I am from the Chicagoland area and I have been needing to find a place with great burgers and/or hotdogs. It was SO good. Everything felt like back home. A small place with great food. And Chicago pictures everywhere! I will definitely be back when I need my Chicago fix!

This place is authentically Chicago from da accent and da attitude to da Dipped Italian Beef. The sandwich was on par with what I usually have in Chicago every time I visit. Spicy delicious beef and so tasty - you have to try it! I loved all of the Chicago memorabilia all over the joint too. Service was quick and friendly and it got packed fast with hungry patrons. Super cozy and small, but seating outside too. A true gem in Sarasota! I'll probably be back before the end of my trip, it's that delicious.

Stopped in quick for food on our way to somewhere. Glad we did! The guy working was super friendly and helpful with the menu. This place has a lot of cool stuff to look at. He recommended we get our dogs made a certain way, but we were on a time crunch. Didn't matter, because the dogs were bangin'! I got a chili dog and it was probably the most perfect dog I've ever gotten. It was delicious, and not sloppy and messy. Also came on a poppyseed roll, which was new to me. My daughter had a plain dog and loved it. Prices here were on point, and the fries were cooked well. These types of spots are a gem for any area to have, and I encourage others to support it!

My wife and I have been in Sarasota for two years and we have driven by many times and two days ago we saw the doors open and stopped in. What a great place and the food was excellent. It was so good I tried to go back the next day "Sunday" but they were closed. The two people working there were very cool and had the type of personalities that make you want to come back too. I'm not a Chicago sports fan but I am a sports fan and so appreciated everything inside so much I had to send pictures to my boss who is a Chicago Fan. We will 100% be going back to eat here.

As a Chicago native, this place is legit. Dragged my family here twice for the authentic Chicago style hot dogs, down to the poppyseed buns! Husband had the Italian beef and he raved about it as well. If I'm back in the area this will be a must to visit!

Chicago Beef yes indeed. Probably the only place south of St. Pete to get your Chicago food fix. Tony's has it all Vienna Beef, Hot dogs and burgers. I ordered the Italian Beef dipped with Hot peppers and a regular fresh cut fries. I wasn't disappointed. If your looking to cure your cravings Tony's is your spot in Sarasota. OMG! If you are from the Chicago area, you need to go here! The dogs are done like they should be. The Italian beef is a little bit sloppy as it should be. The place is a little divey as it should be. You need to go.

Very good Chicago style food. I like the pizza puffs, hot dogs, and honestly everything I've tried there.

Went to Tony's Chicago Beef Sarasota for lunch today! Got the 2 Chicago dog special These dogs are amazing! They have a nice snap, the veggies are fresh, fries were hot and salted just right and the buns were a traditional poppyseed bun! They were fresh and delicious! Made me happy

Oh man. This place is T H E S P O T. If you haven't ate here yet, run! Maxwell polish sausage, on a poppyseed bun. Best damn dog I've ever had in my life. Chili dog - 10/10 Italian beef dipped in house gravy on French bread. 11/10. Even the French fries are solid. Service and hospitality is 20/10 I am going in today for a burger as my friend said it was the best burger she's ever had. Will Report back. UPDATE: The obsession with Tony's is real. Had the burger today. Whoah. This is E X A C T L Y what I want when I seek out a burger. Seasoned well, perfectly cooked, the freakin bun even melts in your mouth, gooey american cheese and fresh crispy PLOT (pickles lettuce onion tomato). Burger 20/10 and I'm not even being dramatic. They had a packed house today at 1pm on a Monday. It's obvious why - Honestly there's not much more you can ask for than what Tony & Giusepp are cooking up. See yah soon

Two thumbs up I stopped in today for lunch. I was prepared, having already looked over the menu online. I knew I wanted their 2 Dog Special, where you can pick any two they offer, and they come with fries. My choices were their Chicago Fire Dog and their Chili Cheese Dog. I had just lined up behind a couple of customers working through their order at the register when Tony asked me what I wanted, so he could get started on my order. I liked that. As the place got busier, I saw that was common act, father and son working in tandem filling orders and running the register. Two thumbs up for my food. The Vienna dogs weren't overly large or overly loaded, but were indeed good. Chicago proud. I got so in the moment I hesitated grabbing a squeeze bottle of ketchup for my fries. It is a small place, narrow, with a couple of tables and a lunch counter. Some customers got their food to go. Some customers were regulars, Tony and his son knowing their orders without being told. This is the opposite of a fancy place, fans running in lieu of air conditioning. The décor, as it were, Chicago. The food, inexpensive.

Came here and had a pretty good hotdog with a lot of flavor. I was certainly come back and try their other dogs as the one I had was just a simple one. They did look like they had some really good sausages and different types of dogs so I'm excited to come back.

The food is delicious. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Sarasota. The polish taste like what I am used to for Chicago. Grilled, sautéed onions, hot and sweet peppers. Yum Yum. My hubby enjoyed his knuckle sandwich. It had ham, turkey, salami, and roast beef. The service is friendly and personable. The ambiance is welcoming.

Everything was great!!! The cheeseburger and Belushi burger were juicy and packed with flavor. French fries yummy. Staff so personable! Great job, especially 2 days after Hurricane Milton!

Absolutely delicious! The beef is tender and seasoned perfectly. The bread is soft. The fries are real and perfectly cooked. HIGHLY recommend this place-- especially if you're from Chicago. It's perfect!

This is good, high quality Chicago food. First rate beef sandwiches, excellent hot dogs (and authentic poppy seed buns, and a surprisingly excellent ahi tuna sandwich if you must eat healthy. Good fries, good Chi-town memorabilia including authentic Riverview Park amusement tickets. Friendly staff. Coming back soon to try the brats.

This little joint has great Chicago-style food. The Italian Beef (wet) is outstanding, quickly served and a great value. Quick bites here!

First, i have never had a Chicago beef so I am not sure what they are supposed to taste like. I ordered mine wet with sweet peppers. It was just bland, without any flavor. The hotdog was good, fries were good. People were a little rude, very short with answers.

Great chili dog today. Warm bun and tasty sauce. Chef is so friendly and accommodating. The Chicago Beef sandwich is great as well and the weather much better here!

Every time I'm in Sarasota I have to stop at Tony's for lunch. My fave is the 2 dog special Chi style. I would move nearby just to eat there more often.

We live in the neighborhood and eat at Tony's at least once a week. Absolutely everything on the menu is drool worthy. Great service as always- the guys truly make you feel like you're an old friend when you walk in.

Great food great prices! Great for take out! There's free parking in the small parking lot or street parking. The service was excellent. The chef is always welcoming and gives great recommendations. The ambiance is very low key or laid back. This place is great for take out!

Any time I'm in Sarasota I always come here at least twice these Chicago beef dog are so delicious The service is great and the inside is full of Chicago history with pictures all over the walls. If you like a real Chicago dog this is definitely the place to come to
