This is comfort food. Reminds me of Queens before I moved to atx

Google
This is hands down my favorite Jamaican spot in Texas — I hit it up at least twice every time I’m in Austin. I ordered the oxtails with rice and peas, had them drizzle some jerk sauce on top, and got a side of sweet plantains. The flavor is on point every single time — rich, tender, and full of that real island vibe. Yeah, the oxtails are a bit pricey for the portion, but honestly, they’re so good it’s worth every bite. Always hits the spot and keeps me coming back!

Fancy Pants

Google
Food was hot, fresh, but lacking the flavor that would justify the price, this is a large. The oxtail lacked flavor and tenderness, the Mac and cheese was a $5 bowl of hot noodles, no flavor whatsoever. The beef patty was good. Overall It was not nasty, this meal had me thinking I had COVID because I just couldn’t taste flavor, but I won’t be buying this particular meal from here again.

Google
Discovered this place on a random Saturday night when I wanted something different. The food was amazing! I had the Oxtail and Jerk Chicken dishes and the flavor was on point. Portion sizes were large, though prices were a bit high. Service was ok, the cashier had to come ask for our names (went with a friend) and confirmed our order. She still messed up my friend’s order, however. Nothing major, they ordered curry goat but received curry chicken. Is seems most orders were for pick up opposed to dining in so it was relatively quiet while we sat enjoying our food. I would definitely go back though.

Google
I’m a simple gyal and I’ve worked in the restaurant field so I can tell that the oxtails and fried plantains were not freshly made or sat there all day. They were dried out and was reheated (look at the pic) but overall D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!! The flavors are there. As far as customer service, It would be nice to be greeted upon walking in as the two ladies sat there and watch you enter the restaurant and walk towards the counter.

Google
I was in Austin for a quick business trip, and was pleasantly surprised to find a Jamaican restaurant. I ordered the curry goat with rice and peas, plantain, and steamed vegetables. The meat was soft and well seasoned. I was not disappointed.

Jessica D. Arbuthnot - Williams

Google
So I ordered a jerk chicken lunch with coco bread. I asked for extra jerk sauce because their chicken and rice is dry as of late. The lady at the front was on a personal call and not attentive. I get gone and have dry chicken and dry rice with no extra sauce and only 1 piece of plantain 😒 I should've checked before I left. I won't be back for a while. This place has gone down. Tony's thanks for the clarification and I will take the remake. Unfortunately I did not finish the meal today because of the dryness. Everything but the cabbage tasted old, like it was rewarmed. UPDATE: It clearly says that my order can be remade. The same young lady that took my order last week would take honor the remake. She didn't want to call the owner, I had to ask. I was close by and this couldn't taken a sec to close out. Haven't heard back. I wont go back. I love to support black businesses but it's always the customer service that kills us.

Google
It's legit, and that's one of the best compliments that I can give any Caribbean spots here in Texas. With that being said, it is one of the top ones that I have found in my Texas travels. Portions were nice, and the flavor was popping. Only with they had a full dessert menu when I stopped by

Google
Oh wow.. the food was amazing. Everything tasted that was cooked low and slow. Also it shows the attention to detail as the oxtails had excess fat trimmed and meat was super tender. The curry goat, one of the best I’ve tried.

Yelp
My only favorite Jamaican food spot in the Austin area. Good sized portions and the food here never disappoints.

Yelp
I just tried this place for the first time, and I liked it! The flavors were good, but I did find that the oxtail had more bones than meat, so keep that in mind. I also tried a beef patty, which was fine but didn't stand out too much--maybe it wasn't super fresh when I got it. Oh, and just a heads up, the rice had a bit of a "dirty rice" flavor, so if that's not your favorite, you might want to choose something else. Overall, it was a good experience!

Yelp
Tony's serves up consistently good Jamaican food, and I especially find myself craving one of their combo plates after a hard workout at the gym. Servings are rather large and dense, definitely enough for two meals, with fair prices. CURRY GOAT (5/5) - So savory and seasoned really well. The goat is melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a pretty generous meat-to-bone ratio! OXTAIL (3/5) - Husband's favorite, but 90% bone. Cuts could be thicker, and they prepare it sweeter than my palate likes. BROWN STEW CHICKEN (4/5) - A very comforting dish. Each bite is so soft, juicy, and bursting with Caribbean flavors and marinade. Would recommend for those looking for something milder on the spice scale. SIDES (5/5) - The rice & peas, steamed cabbage, and sweet plantains pair so well with any one of their entrées. I can and have eaten just the leftover cabbage alone as a snack the next day. CAKES (4/5) - Sold in relatively small slices, it's a nice way to finish off your meal with something sweet. My favorite is their carrot cake!

Yelp
I ordered the large jerk chicken plate, which came with 4 pieces of jerk chicken, rice and peas, and cabbage. The chicken was flavorful but not as spicy as I was hoping. Some pieces were juicy and some were a bit drier. Definitely enough to last several meals! Priced at $17, so I think it was a good value for what you pay for. Plenty of parking outside and indoor seating.

Yelp
The food is delicious! The curry shrimp is my go to. The jerk chicken is also a fave but I prefer white meat so I don't get it that often because they primarily use dark meat for their chicken dishes. Either way it's delicious. The patties are also flaky and flavorful. The rice and peas plantains and cabbage are full of flavor and take me back Jamaica. I wish they'd include a white meat version of the chicken dishes and added fried dumplings to the menu, that would be great. Their food definitely has the authentic flavors of Jamaica. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I ordered a jerk chicken meal and a large oxtail meal. The oxtail was flavorful and the meat was tender. It had bold flavors and you can taste all the spices! The rice was heavily seasoned and the juices from the oxtail get mixed in with the rice. The meal also included cabbage which also mixed with the ox tail juices. The chicken meal contain 2 chicken wings and a drumstick. It also came with plantain, rice, and cabbage. The chicken was a bit dry but it coating was seasoned well. I thought the meal was overall salty and I would've liked the cabbage to be packaged separately so the flavors won't mix together. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd probably give them another try!

Yelp
For years I have heard about Tony's but I'm not too crazy about jamaican food (mostly because this is what we eat commonly in the south lol) but I needed a shake-back meal + uber suggested Tony's! The pricing and size of this plate was sooooo on point! I ate on this meal for two days! while the food was delicious, my chicken was a bit dry, oxtail not as flavorful as I expected + I'm glad I ordered a side of oxtail gravy because that was the extra seasoning this meal needed. best plantain I've had in austin, hands down.

Yelp
This is our favorite Jamaican spot in the area but the consistency of quality isn't always there. Our go to is the curried goat and oxtail, which are really flavorful and tender. The plantains are also cooked really well here, but I recommend not trying to let it sit in the fridge overnight. It usually takes 30 minutes to get our food which is typically consistent. The beef patties are also a go to, perfectly flakey and the beef has a good heat to it. They also make some delicious juice. Make sure you double check your order before you leave because we have been given the wrong items multiple times before.

Yelp
This place is a joke bad management poor customer service. We a were trying to get some meat pies these people has a bad way talking to people and lack of professionalism bad attitude stay away stay away.

Yelp
Being from NY, I was skeptical to try Jamaican food elsewhere. But I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. My wife and I ordered the oxtails with some chicken. With traditional peas and rice. And the food was amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
Hit or miss? Idk, the first time we came here the jerk was on point, the rice was fresh, everything was so good. We came by months later and it was not what we remembered. The rice tasted like white instant rice and they just added seasoning over it. The jerk chicken and oxtail were not the same like the first time. The plantains were undercooked. I really was looking forward to eating this because I love Jamaican food. We were quite disappointed. As for service- it was a little slow, maybe because it was only one person that day. I'm hoping it was just a miss the 2nd time. I'm willing to try it again.

Yelp
I'm here from outta town and in each town I go on the search for Caribbean food. This place came up as one of the best places in my area for the best Caribbean food. Nope!!! This is not it. Somethings were missing. But you get what you paid for and didn't want to go back and say try again. Tired and unfulfilled.

Yelp
Wow, wow, wow!! The food here is great!! Once you walk into the establishment, go to the counter to order, then seat yourself. Service was friendly and the dining area is open/large with booth and table seating-- a great spot for medium-sized groups. I came with my family and we ordered a number of different plates. I had the regular curry goat and it was so tender and flavorful; it was excellent. The steamed vegetables were even seasoned to perfection, along with the plantains; everything complimented each other well. The beef patties are delicious! Flaky crust with a velvety center, bold flavor and a hint of spice. I can't wait to go back to order more and try their carrot cake!

Yelp
Great food, great service and reasonable prices. If you want good Jamaican food give Tony's a try.

Yelp
My husband and I recommended Tony's to Fabian,of Swagger Cuts. He made a trip there from Temple, with his beautiful wife. His words not mine "Came to round rock to pick up baby plates , so we came tried this place here in Pflugerville, say all I'm say if you like Caribbean food , y'all better make that drive!!!! ... got me wanting put some sandals on!!!" Oxtails Plantains Coco bread Mac and cheese Banana bread Beans Rice Muy Rico

Yelp
We were driving around in Pflugerville and happened to spot Tony's in a strip mall area so we decided to check it out. The location is nothing to write home about, it does the job and is decorated nicely. They have a cooler with a lot of Jamaican sodas and malt beverages, and you order by walking up. We got the oxtail and jerk chicken combo, as well as 2 beef patties. It's a bit on the pricier side but one plate is enough to feed 2 people! The oxtail and chicken was absolutely delicious, served with plantain, rice and beans and cabbage. The meat fell off the bone and everything was spiced amazingly well. The beef patties are among one of the best I've ever had, with a touch of sweetness. Can't wait to try some of their other dishes honestly as I know we played it safe. Highly recommended, fantastic comfort food.

Yelp
Deeelicious! Just ordered from ubereats and this really hit the spot. Hands down the best Jamaican patty ive ever had - it tasted homemade and was seasoned nicely. I havent had anything as good as this since i lived in Canada. The curry chicken and jerk chicken were both very tender. I saw some reviewers say the curry chicken was dry so i ordered a side of curry sauce and it was so good! I even dipped the coco bread in the sauce and it was yumyyyy. Will definitely be ordering from here again!

Yelp
Tony' is consistently delicious. At Tony's, the jerk pork is exceptional...tender and flavorful, it boasts the perfect blend of spices with a hint of smokiness that sets it apart. Accompanied by aromatic rice and peas, perfectly cooked steamed vegetables, and sweet fried plantains, each bite is a delightful experience. My friend ordered the jerk shrimp, which was also fantastic...but the jerk pork is the masterpiece. Tony's has truly mastered this Jamaican classic.
google avatar

Yelp
The times I've gone past this place it was closed often...but since I needed to get my phone fixed I was in luck and saw the open sign on! I drop in to grab some brown stew chicken for lunch. They have lunch specials so that was a plus. While the food was tender, it wasn't as flavorful as I hoped--maybe I'm comparing it with a spot I enjoyed in Houston not long ago Either way, I may be back to try the jerk--let's hope I catch them when their opened. Stay tuned!

Yelp
The Jamaican beef patties are delicious! Super flaky outside and the perfect touch of heat on the inside.

Yelp
Literally one of the best Jamaican spots in Austin! Tender meat, Fresh Pattie's, cabbage has great flavor. Love this place! Make sure you order ahead!! This place gets super busy. Price is fair as well. I always get their oxtails, sauce is amazing & meat slides right off the bone.

Yelp
I am back especially when my experience was awesome. Not many Jamaican restaurants are in Austin but Tony's is pretty legit. Jamaican themed restaurant, easy dining room, and the menu is simple. I went with the jerk chicken meal, comes with 3 pieces of chicken, peas with rice, and soft carrots with cabbage. I opted for double cabbage to keep the carbs low and the chicken was soft, tender, juicy, with amazing outer jerk seasoning. Jerk seasoning is a darker, mole style, peppery, and tame taste. Plenty of tang from the jerk sauce and I added a curry chicken patty. Crispy outer shell with flavorful chicken curry. For an extra .50c you can add a side of jerk sauce. The cabbage and carrots side was soft and helped with the richer flavor of the jerk chicken. It helps clean the pallet with the sweated cabbage and when you go for another bite of the chicken, the chicken taste fresh from the taste of the cabbage. Overall, very nice meal for under $17 and it can last up to 2 days if you're not that hungry but want to feel satisfied. A must try.

Yelp
The food was great top to bottom. I went during a lunch break with two coworkers who have not been and both ordered chicken. "The chicken is cooled perfectly" was repeated between the silence that comes with a good meal. I had ox tails, they were falling off the bone, personally I like more brown sauce but it was a great meal. The rice come with most orders so dont miss out on it, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
I ordered delivery 5 stars for how quick it came and that the food was still very hot. Oxtail and Curry goat meal: oxtail and goat was cooked very well. It was tender which sometimes doesn't happen when meals are mass produced. 5 stars for quality of the meat. The gravy however wasn't as tasty as it could have been. Something is missing. The cabbage that came with the meal was overcooked and seasoning was also off. So my overall rating for this meal combo is a 3.5 Coco Bread and Patty: delish 5 stars Roti: At first I didn't like how the chickpea was super messy but the roti with the goat tasted nice so 4.5 Side of Plantain: 5 stars. Loved it. Overall I give this place 4 star. For the most part the food tastes good. If they improve the sauce/gravy I'd rate higher. It's close enough to authentic for me and I am Jamaican.

Yelp
Pros: Great food, quick service friendly staff, tunes on deck ! The place was empty at 530pm on a Monday but that was appreciated. Came in hungry left satisfied. Con:Could've been more affordable for the serving size.
google avatar

Nette A.

Yelp
The taste was there, the food was amazing, the customer service was quick and spot on, the entire atmosphere was simple and not too overwhelming. I go back every so often and sometimes I bring back a plate for a friend or two. This is a place I don't mind spending $100. Thank you for the great experience every time.

Yelp
Anytime this food truck is at an event I'm attending, I gravitate to their food. I've only gotten jerk chicken cause it's too good to stray from. Chicken just falls off the bone and yummm. Rice and beans have so much great flavor. Love the bit of cabbage to help the gut. Always friendly service, highly recommend. Really great portions too for an affordable cost.

Yelp
Visited Tony's while in the area. It's was mid afternoon and quiet so I was able to get my order in quickly. I ordered 2 combination plates of curry chicken and oxtail with peas & rice and cabbage as the other side. It also came with plantain. Drove home (40 min away) and the food smelled good. Decided to warm it up around dinner time (6 pm) and it was still juicy. The meats were good and as flavorful as I've had in JAM and at other local spots. Plantain were nicer sized pieces than I'm used to getting which I loved. The peas and rice were good. I wish I'd asked for more sauce as I always forget this only to remember when I get home. The cabbage was good but had too many carrots but definitely not bad. For the to go combo plates I just wish the cabbage and peas & rice could've been separated. I hate mixing cabbage juice with my other foods. This is a personal hangup and not on Tony's. Everything was good and I'd definitely try them again when in the area and in the mood for Jamaican. *my own container in the photo

Caitland C.

Yelp
I ordered the jerk shrimp, I had not one but two hairs in it. I have white blonde hair so they are not "mine". I'm sad about this because we have so many Caribbean cuisines in Chicago and moving to Austin I thought my craving would be fulfilled. I wouldn't go back.
google avatar

Jimmy E.

Yelp
Got the jerk chicken meal. Chicken was well seasoned and plantains were good. Rice was flavored well but way too much portion compared to small chicken pieces. Wish I had less rice and more chicken or at least more chicken. Would recommend and will be back.

Michelle P.

Yelp
Delicious Jamaican Food! Visited Tony's and had the oxtail and jerk chicken combo along with a bottle of cold ginger beer. The combo was plentiful, very tasty, and came with rice & peas, plantain, steam cabbage, jerk chicken and oxtail. The price was reasonable for the large amount of food. The service was good and staff very friendly. The restaurant is in a shopping center with lots of parking and the inside is clean with plenty of seating. I'd recommend and plan to visit again to try other dishes.
google avatar

LaPeshaa C.

Yelp
So I do like Tony's but NOT for their oxtails which is my fav thing about Jamaican food. The oxtails had a great flavor but just were not cooked correctly. They were not as tender as I like and had a HUGE ring of tough fat around them which means either they were not seared 1st or not cooked long enough, or both! If they were that fat would've rendered down. They also forgot my plantains on my take out plate. The patties are so good!! Both chicken and beef. Great spice and flavor. The rice n peas are the best I've ever had! Wow! They definitely have that rice down! But let me tell you about the brown stew chicken! Ooohhh sweet Jesus it is DEVINE!! Like wow the flavor was off the chain. The chicken was so tender and full of flavor. The stew was rich and delicious. They put their foot in that brown stew!! I will definitely be back for the brown stew and patties.
google avatar

Miaya C.

Yelp
I was craving Jamaican food one day, and Tony's satisfied everything I was craving. The food at Tony's is delicious! The price isn't totally cheap, BUT you definitely get a decent sized portion of food with your meal. Money well spent.
google avatar

Alicia C.

Yelp
I've been to Tony's several times.. he never disappoints! I've had the oxtail and jerk chicken it was delicious. My oxtail plate came with rice and beans plantains and stew cabbage. I'm from Belize and this hits the spot every time. Check them out.
google avatar

Ashley P.

Yelp
Y'all. I missed Jamaican food from when I used to live near Prospect Park in Brooklyn. It was the thing I would eat when I was skipping breakfast and lunch (that New York #brokelife). The oxtail and the goat curry are SO good here. We also tried the jerk chicken, and while it was good, the other two were standouts. Ordered a week ago...ordering again.
google avatar

Jarome W.

Yelp
I have been here several times and biggest compliment I can give is consistency. Everytime I go, the food tastes just as delicious and flavorful as the last. I have been to plenty of restaurants and the dish tastes differently depending on the chef, not here. I tried the jerk shrimp this time instead of my curry shrimp. I was very nervous on the spice but it was not too spicy at all. This restaurant has their flavoring down pack. I love this place and will be back
google avatar

Monica P.

Yelp
Tony's!! Jamaican!!! Food!!!! NEVER MISSES. I come back here at least once every few months. It'd be a lot more often if I lived closer. Great portion for the amount you're paying- this usually lasts me about 2 meals, (1.5 if I'm super hungry). My go-to is the jerk chicken wings combo, but I don't think that's on the menu anymore, but their Jerk Chicken combo is just as good. I'm also quite fond of the beef patties. I've tried their curry chicken patties, which are good, but I think I just prefer the beef ones more (even though sometimes they were runny, but having molten sauce dripping off of your face is some of the fun, I guess). I usually do carry out, but the venue has a lot of parking (lowriders, beware though) and a lot of booth seating. Anyway. I hope Tony's stays open forever or at least til the owners want to retire.
google avatar

Deborah L.

Yelp
I ordered a meal from the food truck while at a community event. For $10 bucks, I was blown away. Just look at the portion size! The jerk chicken melts off the bone, and has the most flavorful skin. There's a tad bit of spiciness that I didn't catch until a few bites in. I thought it was a good level of spicy! The sauce that goes over the chicken is on the peppery and saltier side. Very similar to (or the same as?) any familiar bbq sauce in my opinion. The grilled cabbage went very well with the meat and rice. I really enjoyed the rice and beans! I could eat another helping of it. The side of plantains were perfect!
google avatar

Yelp
My son and I tried this place for lunch and haven't stopped going. The food was good and the lobby is relaxing and quiet.

Yelp
What a gem! I passed by trying to go to Texas Roadhouse and didn't know Tony's Jamaican existed. Luckily Texas Roadhouse had a bit of a wait, so I backtracked to Tony's and they did not disappoint! It's family-owned and run. Walking in, you can either order at the window to place a to-go order, or they'll direct you to sit wherever you like. So many delicious options. My friends and I decided we were wanting to try it all, so we opted for the combination plate. I ordered the curry goat + jerk pork, and my friends ordered variations of oxtail with curry goat or oxtail with jerk pork. The curry goat and oxtail were to die for and so tender. Their portions are very generous too. Pro tip: If you're a spice head, I recommend the scotch bonnet chili sauce to eat with your meal. I'm so glad this is close to where I live, I'm definitely going to be a regular!
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
Prices are going up everywhere. Lunch portion has gone up $1. I think chicken sizes seem a tad smaller from previously but HOT DAMN is their food good!! I enjoy going there and always enjoy the atmosphere. A couple people walked up and asked for a sauce. Woman behind the desk ask which one and named them. I will probably ask about sauces next time. Seems to be more of a familiar thing but I would also love to know! I come twice a month and have zero complaints other than I want one near me in Houston

Josephine A.

Yelp
I've been to Tony's a couple times and it hits the spot every. Single. Time. There hasn't been a slip up anywhere. I do wish the oxtails were a little bigger but still satisfying nonetheless. My toddler tore it up and she's a picky eater so that says a lot. If you're in the mood for Jamaican go here!!!!! Oh and the red velvet cake????? Just perfect. 10/10 my favorite spot.
google avatar

Frank M.

Yelp
Tried this place. Wasn't the best. The food had more grease than flavor. To order food you walk up to a window to get service.
google avatar

Tarann S.

Yelp
Food is always good. I usually pick up my order. Brown stew chicken with rice and peas, carrots and plantain is my favorite dish. I have been a few times before Covid to eat with friends and family. Service was good then. Can't say today.

Te'Juana J.

Yelp
This food is nasty AF. IF I could give zero stars I would. Oxtails fatty and unseasoned. Rice bland AF. Steamed veggies were okay. Probably the best part. I ordered a large oxtail plates about 4 of the oxtails were little nudges. And the other 3 were so fatty. The jerk chicken forgettable. Something about the jerk seasoning at this place is off. I spent 122 dollars and I am EXTREMELY disappointed. This place isn't it and definitely not worth the money I spent. Hell are these even Jamaicans cooking this food because I am utterly shocked at how bad it was. Tony I feel like you need to run me my damn money back forreal. Like why you out here scheming on folks with the fake, nasty Jamaican food Also y'all go look up The Jerk Spot in LA. Look at their pictures and compare it to the mess I got here at Tony's.
google avatar

Odell W.

Yelp
The food is okay... The customer service is horrible, every time I've been. I recommend going down the street to island fork to be honest. I always get the Curry Chicken and CoCo bread and the chicken is always dry. Trust me I grew up on Caribbean food and it could be way better... also, just their attitudes. No greeting no Hi, Hello. Just blank stairs and a rude "is it pick up" every time. Def need to work on their hospitality

Yelp
We've been itching to stop in and try some of this Jamaican food for quite a while. Today we scratched that itch and stopped in and had lunch. We both had the Jerk chicken lunch special, which was at a very fair price of $9. We thought the chicken had a good flavor, but was a little messy to eat, I guess that's par for the course though. The meal came with a very large portion of rice and a much smaller portion of steamed vegetables which look mostly like steamed cabbage, and a couple of pieces of fried plantain. I think the main downside for us was that we were served with plastic utensils and styrofoam containers even though we wanted to eat in the restaurant. Oddly enough both of our forks broke off in our chicken and we had to hunt for the piece of fork in the chicken. We would have much preferred in-house silverware and dishes.

Yelp
Excellent curry chicken. The steamed vegetables were a treat and the rice and peas very flavorful. That mango drink I had was really refreshing.

Yelp
Food was incredible, only giving a four star because the person who took my order was pretty rude and impatient. Food was a homerun, I had the jerk chicken and oxtail combo plate
