Tony's On The Pier Review - Redondo Beach - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"We don’t usually recommend restaurants located at the end of piers (a.k.a. tourists traps), but we’ll gladly make an exception for Tony’s in Redondo Beach. This kitschy, nautical-themed spot on the edge of the boardwalk has been serving concerningly potent Mai Tais and fried calamari since the 1950s, with the decor to prove it: old fisherman nets on the ceiling, colorful glass floats, and enough black-and-white signed celebrity portraits to rival Pink’s. The retro seafood menu is merely passable (skip the oysters), but the dining room and upstairs bar are quite literally perched over the beach, and the drinks are cheap and strong. Order the rum-topped Fire Chief cocktail and you’ll leave with a cool souvenir glass on the house (plus maybe a headache the next morning)." - Garrett Snyder

We visited out of curiosity and were fortunate to get a great seat with a stunning ocean view—truly one of the best vantage points to take in Redondo Beach. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the setting. Prices felt steep for what was offered, particularly the $9.50 charge for a bottle of Corona, which came across as excessive. The zucchini was decent, but the shrimp were disappointingly small. Service was another area that fell short. Our server seemed overwhelmed and wasn’t able to give us much attention, which detracted from the overall experience. While the view alone is worth a visit, the food and service have room for improvement.

Tony’s on the Pier is the place where I truly enjoy grabbing drinks while enjoying the view, I really like all the stuff working there! I love old local restaurants and bars with a history - it just feels so good to be there! Then there is food downstairs and it is also amazing!

Google
We didn't use the bathroom, but everything seemed clean. The service was swift, attentive, and pleasant. The chowder was kinda warm, not as tasty as I hoped for, and I would probably skip it next time. The oysters were perfect! The fish and chips were just how my wife likes them, and the fries were hot and fresh. The view is priceless. Thank you.

Google
In LA for a quick work trip and so glad I decided to stop here for dinner. When I saw this sunset menu for $26 I honestly was in shock. Delicious seafood and soup for under $50?! I will be back. Amazing service, kind people, lovely views and such a bargain for $26 getting soup and a full meal.

Been several times over the years. The service is always friendly and quick. I have a few souvenir glasses from Fire Chief drinks which are tasty. The smoked salmon chowder was my favorite bite. Ultimately, you go there for the view and vibe.

Google
I am writing this review for the raw oysters alone. Amazing, large, fresh, delicious. The history in this place is insane, but I was wowed by their oysters. All the food is good, but there is a reason this place has been around so long. Amazing and fun hang out..

Great food, beautiful view, and not nearly as expensive as we were anticipating for seafood on the beach. Kimberly was a wonderful waitress!

Google
This place is living history and right on the gorgeous ocean, so you can chill and eat and watch the waves roll in, crashing into the rocks along the pier. Has that old lighting that puts you in the mood to drink. The downstairs is for eating and up the curvy Victorian-esque, winding staircase, you'll admire tons of famous photos crowding the wall and enjoy the view. Upstairs, the bar is round and a stunning scene of the ocean with a guy who sings with a guitar up against one window. What fun! It's a great spot to get your drink on and enjoy an eye picnic of waves and the ocean and all the creatures who inhabit it. Staff are personable and friendly and quick to bring you your drinks. Great desserts here, too. The bathrooms are miniscule, so as a woman, take your coat off before trying to squeeze into one of their tiny stalls, haha. This place sits with you, resonates, keeps you in it's vibe and you really miss it when you leave. Day or night, it's the best place on the pier.

Yelp
The food was great!!!!! Hands down the best salmon I've ever had, service was a bit slow but we came during the dinner rush and our server seemed to be a bit new to serving. There was an adorable seal in the harbor that we got to watch hunt its dinner! Beautiful view, great food, and priced well for the location and serving size. Expect to pay about as much as you would at Red Lobster, but for much better food.

Yelp
"Old Tony's" is definitely dated, but it's sorta what I love about it! I love its rickety nature hovering above the pier for a view of the Pacific Ocean, the on point mai tais complete with Hawaiian shirts and kitschy take home souvenir glass, the unique salmon chowder and proficiently prepared seafood, the choice of sides straight out of the '60s. I'm into it. The servers are right out of a Vegas diner in the Frank Sinatra era. It's quirky and they don't even know it or care; it's what I love about it. And heads up, the restroom is as tight as one you'd find on a Southwest flight. But clean!

Yelp
I don't even know where to begin....highlights - service was good and open windows with a wonderful ocean view. So loved that part of it. For the actual food - it was so bad that it was almost good. The "clam pasta", allegedly the Italian version, was basically condensed clam chowder on the most overcooked noodles in the history of noodles. It was so bad, but somehow still tasted good. The clams casino, had nothing even casino about it. It was a clam with a piece of bacon and some shoddy cocktail sauce...yet...it was not bad. This place vexes me. I'm terribly vexed. It reminds me of when my mom had 12 minutes to cook us dinner in 1982 and while nourishing, it wasn't something I was paying for. I'm vexed. So bad so so bad...but almost good. I'm vexed.

Yelp
The service was amazing, all servers and the hostess, nice job people. The food 1 to 10, I'd give them maybe a 4. I'm sorry, the clam chowder (looked and tasted like brown gravy) is not near an imitation, maybe you should buy it canned, it might be better. The Cioppino, not close to what Cioppino is supposed to be like. The margarita needed help. I'm sorry, the only good item was the calamari.

Yelp
This historic seafood restaurant is a part of history of the Redondo Beach Pier. The place is small with the smallest bathroom on the planet. The tables all have a fantastic view of the ocean and the waves breaking below. The staff was wonderful and attentive to your every need. We sat down and ordered some steamed clams with butter and garlic. They were very good. If you are a drinker, you can order a Mai Tai and get to keep a souvenir glass to take home. This makes the experience more enjoyable. I ordered halibut and rice pilaf. It comes with salad and clam chowder. The chowder was bland but the salad was very good. The portions were good size. The fish came and I felt it was nearly tasteless. It really needed some seasoning and or a glaze, or something? I didn't taste any mesquite smoky flavor if they grilled it over a fire. It was tasteless. The upside was the view, staff, salad, and clams. The downside was the tasteless fish, chowder, old decor and dishes. The meal was served on tableware that reminded me of youth camp in the woods. Our bill was way over $100 but the plates and dishes I believe were plastic and cheap. Tony's on the Pier might need an upgrade soon.

Yelp
The food was great and came out as should. Appetizer, soup/salad, and then enter. Our waitress Lora was amazing! She deserves a raise! She is very attentive, has great food advice, and knows her stuff.

Yelp
Absolute surprise this place was. Located on the center of the pier this place has been here for a long time. The top is a bar with epic views of the area. The restaurant down below has great views of the water as well. The ceviche was really good here.

Yelp
A great retro pier restaurant and pier that will take you decades ago. There's lots of great memorabilia and decoration. The bar upstairs has great views and it looks like they have live music nightly. Only stopped by for a drink but it would be neat to try the food. Service was great.

Yelp
Excellent service...top floor watching surfers and having some adult beverages...their signature beverage was a blue margarita absolutely delicious...top shelf all the way...and a signature Mai Tai ...very elevated drink topped with fresh fruit ..with a punch...in a really good way...pretty tasty and we got to keep their beautiful signature glass! Love the vibe and decor...a hallway of famous movie stars and singers on the wall ..best service yet!

Yelp
This beautiful, scenic location along with the Excellent 5-Star Customer Service and Food is just impeccable! We were greeted by a cheerful Supervisor, & also had the best Customer Service from our Waiter Noe. Actually, if I can rate this Restaurant 20 Stars , I would!

Yelp
One of the most beautiful interiors in so cal, it's a southbay gem. Can't beat the views from either floor and the drinks are great. Order a mai tai and get a signature Tony's glass to take home. The MCM furniture is absolutely gorgeous. Great service every time I've visited!

Yelp
Went here for lunch with my boyfriend and we loved it! I am gluten free (sensitivity, not celiac) and got the grilled chicken Caesar salad and a side of fries. The salad was great, tossed with plenty of dressing. The fries were SPECTACULAR. They came out piping hot. My boyfriend got the fish and chips and said it was great. We were worried maybe it wouldn't be enough food for him but after he ate, he said it was the perfect amount. Our server was super kind and attentive. The vibe was also great. The restaurant feels like it's stuck in the mid to late 1900s in the best way. And pretty much all of their seating is by windows with a nice view of the waves crashing on the shore.

Yelp
I'm from Massachuestts and cane here strictly by chance with my family. Wish chance had tried something else. Now, being from New England, we have high expectations for any place serving seafood. But this letdown was on a whole different level. We each got a different seafood entree and they were all equally bad and equally lacking in portion size. Chowder tasted like it was from a can. Fish and shrimp were more likely frozen, and if not that brings up other concerns. The only highlight was the scallops. They were OK and cooked pretty well. But so much oil pooling in my plate, especially for so little food. If chance brings you here, keep on walking.

Yelp
Let's start with the bread. Nice warmish sourdough with perfectly soft butter. The soup we chose was the smoked salmon chowder. It was delicious, especially with the addition of oyster crackers. I had the sand dabs and my dining partner had the Cajun grilled red snapper. Both were delicious and well prepared. The sand dabs were mild, lightly breaded and grilled. My dining partner had their famous mai tai, and was able to keep the glass as is tradition. The service was phenomenal. Our server was Noe. He kept on top of our drinks and was knowledgeable about the menu, and helped us make good choices. He recommended the smoked salmon chowder. How can you describe the ambience except to say that it is awesome! Nice tunes playing, the Pacific Ocean view, the waves lapping in the horseshoe and the smell of the salty air. There are tables inside with heaters built-in. You can tell that there are a lot of local patrons and the vibes inside are really epic.

Yelp
A great local hang out for their speciality drinks and good food for decent prices. We came to this place for the first time from a friend invite. Eight of us showed up on a Sunday afternoon, first come first served. We sat down at the bar while waited for the rest of our party. Mai-tais were apparently the drink of our party today but I went with a pina colada. Drinks were great and you get to keep the glass for each specialty drink ordered. There were those in our party who had a set of glasses going before the afternoon was over. Service was excellent and food came out quick. Portions here are huge in my opinion and some of us took doggie bags home. At the recommendation of the server a few of us tried the smoked salmon chowder which was a hit. I would definitely return here to try the other dishes, but also to try and complete a set of those Tony's lowball tumbler glasses. The place could use a decor upgrade, but don't let that stop you from trying their food.

Yelp
I love the food here!! It's really good quality and you get so much food for a great price! I ordered the stuffed shrimp, and it comes with soup, salad, and another pick of your choice. I think that's a fabulous opportunity. I ordered Caesar salad instead of the the garden salad and it's a up charge for $1. I think that's not bad at all though with all the food you received for a fair price. On the other hand, I will say , to put the baked potato toppings on the side because they put copious amounts of sour cream and butter on top. Hey, we are all different, but I don't not like excessive sour cream :) it was still delicious tho! The service here is always good. The bust boys are very attentive to your needs and taking away your plates. Our waitress was very sweet and down to earth. Easy going gal. The ambiance is perfect for views. You can see the sunset, and it's located right by Redondo Beach. It's a nice bar vibe upstairs as well. It's perfect for summer here! The mai tai's are very good here, they are really popular and you can take the cup home as souvenir. It's a nice vibe here and can be a good time! Great location as well! Overall, I always come here just been late on a review. I will continue to come back. The parking is in the structure and to get best access park on level 3 to have close walking access. You have to pay for parking, but not if you have handicap.

Yelp
Love this place, and George and Frank are the best. Can't wait to go back! Such a gorgeous view, fresh seafood and great drinks there!
google avatar

Kisha L.

Yelp
The food here is delightful. I love the stuffed crab meal. When, I want a good reasonable seafood meal, I go here. Everything is fresh. They have the best Mai Tai's. If you buy a Mai Tai you get to keep the glass. The service is always righteous. The ambiance is a very cool vibe. It's a historical restaurant so it's not modern. The bathrooms are very small and are old too. No outdoor seating, but they have a upstairs bar on top of restaurant which is very refreshing. The parking lot is not far from the restaurant on the pier. You pay for the parking by the hour. No valet parking. Great place for meetings, parties, etc. Great view of beach.

Yelp
Came here for the upstairs bar. Awesome views and friendly barkeeps. Beer was cold! Such a cool place thats been around for awhile!

Yelp
What more could I want or need?!? Fantastic view of waves crashing and dude surfing large coastal surge - check! Great Mai Tai, reasonably priced AND comes with souvenir glass for that reasonable price - check! Ambience that awakens faint memories of South Seas inspired eateries of my very early childhood, but in the well maintained condition of that era - check! 70s mellow rock, soft disco (don't rock the boat, baby) tunes in the BG - check! Kitschiness to delight my senses - check, check, CHECK! Friendly, welcoming host, servers and bus service, attentive to the customers - check!!! But WAIT A MINUTE --- ! Delicious dishes as well?!?!? Awww HECK YEAH! Why have we waited SO LONG to come to Tony's??? Wellll....hubs doesn't do fish, so I think that ended the further look before it even started. But on this day, with the cold in the air and surf raging, and us venturing south of DTLA, we decided drinks along the coast were what we needed. We headed to Tony's and we're famished by the time we arrived at 4. We were seated right away at the perfect corner window and Tony's signature Mai Tais and Fire Chief were ordered. Hubs perused the menu and didn't find a burger - uh oh. For me , fish is a delight and the cold weather dictated the cioppino ($33) would be my choice. Hubs went with the Queens cut NY steak dinner($30), thinking it would be "petite" as it was a lower price than the regular cut NY at $33. Both dinners came with choice of clam chowder, salmon chowder OR minestrone AND salad w/choice of dressing. His steak also came with choice of linguini w/clam sauce, rice pilaf, veggies, or potato(baked or French fries). Since he doesn't like seafood and I wanted to try both chowders, thinking they would be little cups, he graciously allowed me his clam chowder, and I selected salmon chowder along with my cioppino- yes, even though I was technically ordering a broth based entree, the cioppino entree still came with choice of soups AND salad. Let me tell you, E V E V E R Y T H I N G was delicious, full sized and VERY fairly priced for what we got. We were on our 2nd round of souvenir signature Mai Tais and stuffed to our figurative gills! Night had now fallen and the restaurant was filling up. We settled up, snapped a few more pics of the delightful decor, popped into the souvenir shop next door for a couple of Christmas themed Tony's on the Pier Tshirts, then finished the evening with a stroll around the famous Redondo Beach Pier, on which Tony's has been since 1952. As we drove away, we were already planning our return to this truly original, family owned & operated, delight of a restaurant. Blessings to the Trutanich family for keeping the dreams of Tony and Jeanne's alive and well. Cheers to another 72 years on the pier, Tony's!!!!

Yelp
Couldn't get a table when it was empty. My parents went there for their anniversary dinner. My mom calls the day before and someone said that they didn't need to make a reservation and just come. So they go and the hostess said there was a 45 minute wait. Which made no sense because there were over a dozen open tables. My recommendation: DON'T COME TO THIS RESTAURANT!
google avatar

Kerry W.

Yelp
Let's be real. If you know good food and are experienced the food here is pretty bad. If you rarely get out and don't know the difference between your tires and a Michelin Star then your gonnnna love it. Ambiance, view, mai tais and cocktails 9/10. Love love. The rest is old and not too good.
google avatar

Yelp
Honestly if you are still reading reviews trying to decide whether or not to go here just stop and look at the picture

Yelp
Food was amazing!Customer service was amazing and also the view . Me and my son got chicken Alfredo and the steak . Everything tasted amazing and our waitress unfortunately I forgot her name :( but she had braids and was extremely attentive not only to us but everyone around . She definitely made the experience so welcoming and knows how to show true hospitality. We will definitely be back. 10/10

Yelp
I like Tony's - it's an older place, but it caters to locals, and visitors alike. I like the upstairs bar for views of the sea, and a fun Mai-tai cocktail. You can keep the Mai-tai glass, but I already have too many! . I always get a yummy shrimp cocktail, but downstairs is a full seafood restaurant. One of my boyfriends always enjoys the coconut shrimp- very tasty! Food is good, and Tony's is a popular restaurant/bar on the Redondo Pier. Plus, the classic rock music they play on their stereo is a big hit- go 70's!!!
google avatar

Frances L.

Yelp
We arrived at Redondo Beach quite late and went into Old Tony's. First thing I noticed is the fish net ceiling with buoys and a strong sense of the ocean smell in the air. We sat down quickly and order a calamari to start. The bread came a bit later but it was all good. We wanted to try the coconut shrimp but was sold out. I had a combo plate but couldn't work out what the fish was. It's very rubbery. It came with a chowder, salad and side. Food was a bit salty as everything was deep fried. But the scenery and ambience of the place took us away.
google avatar

Yelp
Manny is the king of bartenders. Never a dull moment when he's serving us. Been to Old Tony's too many times to count, but never disappointed when we do it right. Our teenage kids love dining here. Wife and I have never been impressed with the food. (I concede, though, that I might not be ordering correctly. Came here once with my wife's uncle who used to bartend at Old Tony's, and everything he ordered or recommended was outstanding). Wife and I prefer to sit upstairs and let Manny take care of us while soaking up the ambiance and unbeatable views. Always enjoy the musicians, too, though they could turn it down a bit for a better, more relaxing beachy vibe. Also, server Ilene is sweet and attentive.

Yelp
The view is very pretty, I love the bar upstairs! Great for dates. But the food is meh, for the price range and service is slow.
google avatar

Evelyn M.

Yelp
Older class is location with great water views! We were seated where we could here tge waces and enjoy the view. This is an older aging place. We were seated right away a party of 3. You do get free bread & butter as a starter and entrees include soup and salad choices as well as a side selection. Food was good not great but portions are healthy. Service is as needed meaning we had to flag someone down for drinks, refills, menus etc each time. But everyone is friendly! Tge view is the best feature
google avatar

Ray J.

Yelp
Love this old-school vintage place on the pier! It has an amazing ocean view and a charming bar. The Maitai is one of their signature cocktails and was recommended by the bartender, it was $10ish and comes with a TONY's souvenir glass; what a great deal! For snacks, we have the Maryland-style crabcake ($14) and half a dozen oysters. The Crabcake was the most closest to Maryland crabcakes I ever had in S.Cal! The oyster was fresh and almost like giant size oysters. Would definitely come back for a full dinner to try other items!
google avatar

Christine M.

Yelp
July 11, 2023 -5 stars for my birthday Mai Tai! Of course, you get to take home a Tony's glass. I think that's the ultimate marketing idea for return customers. I have many Mai Tai glasses in different colors. I purchased a pink Tony's on the Pier hoodie in the souvenir shop next door. Besides the Mai Tal & view, the memories of coming to this beach with family warms my heart.

Yelp
Why doesn't this place have a five-star average review. I travel around the world, and I can honestly say, the food and service here is some of the best I've ever experienced. And it is a surprise. Most of the restaurants on the pier have very low reviews. I ordered the fried calamari meal. The calamari was ultrafresh, lightly breaded just like the menu said, and seasoned to perfection. The fries were fresh and crispy. My meal came with a salad and a bowl of salmon chowder. The salmon chowder was out of this world. Chunks of salmon, and a very flavorful bisque. And the salad with blue cheese salad dressing was perfect. The blue cheese tasted homemade. When I walked in the restaurant I was greeted by a very kind and friendly hostess. On the way out, she was even better. This lovely woman seated me right at the end of the dining room where I had a beautiful view of the sunset. Then there was the sticker shock at the end. But this it wasn't your typical sticker shock. My huge meal came in under $31. I know we don't normally post prices on Yelp, but this meal in my home city of San Francisco would have been $85 at the very least. Having traveled to Los Angeles and Long Beach countless times, somehow I've never been to the pier in Redondo Beach. I'll be back here for sure.

Yelp
This is a restaurant with great views of the water. The food is decent but does not have the biggest portions of fish. Overall, it is filling and worth going for the ambiance.

Yelp
Tony's has character as it is a unique venue you won't forget. I'd say 75% of the "Tony's Experience"' is the location and of course that view, then 25% would be the atmosphere there which is a chill vibe. We went during the day and had to try their famous mai tais which were really good! Definitely recommend Tony's for drinks. Will have to come back and try their food. Want to note, service was solid there. That's all I have on this visit.

Yelp
Came here on a gorgeous sunny fall day. The setting is spectacular- on the pier with the ocean right below. Very full menu. Had the Chinese chicken salad. Huge portion with crunchy noodles. Good bread on the table before the meal.

Yelp
I don't like to leave negative reviews but this place was not it. The bartender who seated us was very friendly and I wish I could have given my tip personally to the busboy (he was very polite and wonderful I forgot his name) because our server Rick definitely made us feel unwelcome. I will say I noticed a change halfway through, but a sour taste was already left in our mouths. My grandma and sister wanted to get up and leave but we were celebrating a birthday so we stayed. The food was boring and disappointing. My grandma's side of veggies were clearly frozen bagged veggies and were just not good. My salmon burger lacked flavor, incredibly underwhelming. They were out of oysters which is fine but Rick's energy was so standoffish we thought he was joking when he said they were out. Wouldn't have killed him to suggest something else since it was our first time there. When I asked my sister if she wanted a different appetizer Rick interrupted us and said "I'll let you decide" and immediately walked away. That was pretty frustrating as we were ready to order everything else and skipped the apps. The ambiance is nice, we wouldn't have minded the standoffish and unfriendly energy from our server had the food been better. They seemed to tend to other tables better than us, not sure what it was from my sister, grandma, and I but I digress. Give this place a shot if you'd like, the view is lovely, but the food is definitely not worth it. Sorry.

Karl G.

Yelp
A longstanding treasure and staple. Great seafood and ambiance on the pier. Been going for years.
google avatar

Kelli H.

Yelp
Came here for an early valentines dinner, and the views made it spectacular, spectacular. Ordered the calamari, which came with linguini, side salad and salmon chowder. The salmon chowder stood out, and was the best tasting item out of everything. The linguini had an off taste, and the calamari mediocre. In the future, would stop for the salmon chowder and the views.

Yelp
Awesome ambiance. Went there after work for happy hour. You get a great view of the Sunset. Firehouse drinks was delicious. Enjoyed the ambiance. Good place to wind down after work. Prompt service from the waitress.

Yelp
My grandson and I love this place. It is right on the Redondo Beach Pier and you can get a seat with a beautiful view. The service is amazing. We had the nicest server. He was so kind to my grandson and helped him with the menu. He just was ever so nice to him and Buddy loved talking to him, which he does not tend to do, he is very shy. This server simply went above and beyond. Parking is in the lot for the pier and it is for a fee, but it is fine and not too far a walk. The food is just great. This is not new style sea food. This is traditional seafood and it is all great. Their salads are the best. If you get one, have them had shrimp, they are generous with it and it makes the salad perfect. Their soups are the best. We favor the clam chowder. All of their appetizers are wonderful. We had a combination of fried shrimp and calamari. It was not tough or too fried, it was just perfect. We loved the alfredo pasta with shrimp and clams. All of their fresh fish is grilled so nicely. Desert is the best. You can have a wide variety of items. We prefer the chocolate cake, and the ice cream. We just love this place. So will you.

Yelp
Love the vintage look of this place & all the Japanese floats they made into lights. Service was okay but could've been better today. We had to ask for refills & nobody cleared dirty plates. The large Salmon Chowder was $11 & very filling. It was tasty. We'll return again when in the area. It's been here since 1950.

Yelp
I'm going to be honest, the 3 stars are mostly for the awesome service, the Fire Chief Mai Tais and the view. Now Old Tony's is --- well...old. Old decor, dreary colors and the food is just okay. Go to Tony's if you just wanna hang out on the pier and have potent mai tais.
google avatar

Yelp
Tony's is a local classic. You have to try the fire chief and get your free cup. I currently have 6 at my home.

Yelp
Well, we came her for lunch this time. Dinner is always my choice because I love their swordfish. Unfortunately on the lunch menu if i want swordfish I have to get the combo platter. Not what I wanted. So I went with the coconut shrimp with linguine with clam sauce. (Actually tasted like the clam chows I had just had.) delicious. Hubby had the red snapper. It was supposed to be lightly breaded and grilled. It was neither. It was disappointing he says compared to the other seafood plates he's had in the past. We are faithful to Tony's on the Pier, and we will be back again when we are in this neck of the woods. The server was very attentive to us. Thank you for great service. You really can't beat the view her; the location is spectacular. Thanks for the good eats...

Yelp
Tony's is a Redondo Beach icon, and a must-visit for anyone new to the area. The place has a nice relaxed atmosphere and decent seafood items, but the bartenders Mike and Manny are what keep us coming back. Always friendly, consummate professionals, come in twice and they will know your order by heart for years to come. Any bar/restaurant can look nice or have good food, but it's the friendly staff and quality service that makes a place worth coming back to. Grab their signature drink, the Fire Chief, and enjoy the ocean view with some live music.

Yelp
Service was great, view was wondering. The food was okay. - Clam chowder was not creamy. It tasted like corn soup with fish and clam. Not bad, just not your typical clam chowder. - Bread was delicious. - Maryland crab cakes were not Maryland crab cakes. To the restaurant's credit, the menu stated it was their own recipe. But the dish should be called crab cakes, not Maryland crab cakes. - Veggies tasted like frozed broc, cauliflower, and carrot melody (not from fresh). - the fish and scallops were salty.

Yelp
A Redondo Pier tradition, Tony's offers consistent fine service and quality. Couple that with a spectacular view and you will understand why there is always a line to be seated. Try the Fire Chief cocktail. It's quite tasty and you get to keep the glass as a souvenir. Cheers!

Yelp
Old establishment This is a must be eatery in Redondo Beach, seriously! My friend is a longtime resident of the town, she said the older Tony who passed away was her neighbor. Since my friend hosted my overnight getaway, it was just right to take her out to dinner. We prefer to dine in a restaurant that we can overlooking the ocean. Googled it, the first restaurant popped up on my iPhone screen was Tony's. Wow, it didn't disappoint us at all. To the meal, we both had old fashion original Virgin Margaritas - it was so refreshing, I gave thumbs up. After looking over the menu, we decided to share the meal, since we were both not big eaters and wanted to try. For appetizer we shared a Maryland style crab-cake, wow the best crab-cake I ever had. It was a real deal, it came in two crab cakes. It's buttery, full chunk crab, golden and crispy, served with perfect sauce. We also shared a large bowl of Tony's smoked salmon claim chowder, so tasty and delicious. For main course, the Cioppino in a big bowl sounded so right! - the. Italian fisherman's stew... mussels, clams, crab, swordfish, large shrimps... in the broth was rich in flavor and appetizing, accompanying with two fresh garlic breads this made the meal complete. The server Omar was excellent, he made our dining experience at the Tony's so perfect. We were very satisfied! It was a fun evening! I definitely plan to be back!
