Always enjoy having lunch at this local downtown sandwich shop. The #9 Turkey Plus on the Dutch Crunch is always delicious. Service is always great and there are tables if you choose to dine in. Great sandwiches with that wonderful Dutch Crunch! The Tri Tip and pastrami sandwich are also excellent!

Amazing services, great people, family oriented, food was delicious 😋 I recommend potato salad sandwich is very filling, I had a spicy chicken, with chipotle sauce added pickles. My hunny had the Too fat sandwich we had large comes withdrink and side. We both had Dutchman bread, I think that's what it's called. 10 out of 10 both recommend, be back to try something else. Thank you😊

The sandwich was so tasty. The bread was soft, the creaminess of the avocado and mayo helped add texture with the roast beef. The veggies were crisp and flavorful. The pepperoncinis added a slight kick and crunchiness that brought the sandwich to a different level. I honestly could’ve done without the cheese because there was that much flavor to the sandwich. As I was waiting for my order to go, someone said that their pizza is the best, so that’s for sure next!

Very nice and friendly atmosphere help is kind. The sandwiches are amazing better than there competition Sequoia Sandwiches down the street. I had the too Fat special and a salad great combination. You can order half sandwich which is 5 inches, 8 inch or whole sandwich.

Walking in everything was clean. The cashier was very friendly and patient considering it was my first time here. I got a turkey with American, a pastrami and a kids meal tuna. Kids meal came with sandwhich, chips, cookie, and a drink and an activity pack that included crayons and stickers. I would definitely suggest this place if you're craving a sandwhich

Got the half up pastrami combo. Pastrami was dull and flavorless. The pickle had a good crunch and good flavor. Potato salad was standard mostly flavorless fast food potato salad. It had a good crunch but that was about it. Combo came out to $22, not worth it.

Ordered a killer pastrami, meat was lukewarm very disappointing for an almost $20 sandwich. I'll stick to thier salads.

Update Was just here about a week ago, and it was once again amazing, i had the pastrami sandwich, and it was delicious. Came here for first time a few weeks back and i am glad we did. Was a little nervous at first because of the big variety of food on the menu, but the sandwich i got was delicious, and my wife loved the baked potato. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The decor was awesome, as a mini pig owner, we loved all the pigs every where. Plenty of tables to sit at. Will definitely be back again i would definitely recommend this place.

This place is great what great service. We where stuck at the train station not to far from Too Fat delayed for 2 hours it turned out and getting hungry. There was no place to eat with in a short distance. I searched on line for the closest place this led us to Too Fat. We could not leave the station the train may be ready to leave at any time. I asked if Too Fat could send us food buy Uber or Lift. After some conversation the lady on the phone offered to bring us some food her self. So I ordered and she got to the station just as the train was ready to roil out. This was the best service I received from a restaurant in a long time. The sandwiches where very good to boot. Sorry I do not remember the lady's name shame on me.

We love this place! The sandwiches are so good, especially if you get the Dutch crunch bread. I personally love the turkey and avocado. My husband loves the pastrami. Also during the fall/winter they have soup and it's also delicious. I also really enjoy the fresh made cookies there. The place is adorable and has extra seating on the side. I love the staff and enjoy talking to them while I order. Great place for a quick lunch and the prices are affordable.

The Dutch bread, ugh so good, the pickle on the side divine, and the price! 14.50 for a small sandwich, chips, cookie, small drink! Filling and delicious! Where else are you going to find that kind of combo for that price?? Service is also so friendly and makes you feel at home. I'll be back!

Love the sandwiches for Too Fat, I don't think I have found anything I don't like here. Their homemade chicken salad is fire.

Hi so me and my boyfriend ordered the avocado, sprouts, and jack sandwich and the california chicken club sandwich! They both tasted sooo yummy and fresh. They were generous with the avocado. The sandwiches were not as "fat" as we expected lol but they were still good size sub sandwiches. The chicken was good and a good balance of meat to veggies. The service was really good. We ordered through Uber Eats and they called us because they were out of wheat bread (which we'd originally ordered) and they were really nice and told us the number to call back. It's nice they care about giving us what we would want! :) The ambiance feels like a nice, nutritious and delicious lunch.

Giving this five stars not just because the food was good, but the service was excellent! I really felt like the girl that helped us cared if we liked our food and went out of her way to make sure we were happy. I got the large slice of pizza and was not disappointed! I couldn't finish it in one sitting and had the rest for breakfast. My seven year-old loved her spaghetti. I thought the meatballs were just OK, but I don't like meatballs anyway. My husband though said that they were really good! I I thought her spaghetti tasted great! My 10 year old got a small sandwich with roast beef and avocado she said it was delicious, but kind of small. She did only eat half and it had good quality ingredients. We had a really good time playing iSpy while we waited for our food. They had lots of fun pig decor. It's always difficult to eat out with a family because everyone likes different things which is why I enjoyed this place so much, wonderful variety!

This place has been around for years. Their dutch crunch bread is the best. They recently started serving bbq and new York style pizza. The slice is huge and can be shared but lets face it i don't share pizza especially this one its amazing!!!! Its Reasonable priced and the crust is thick and spongy you can customize with toppings.

Loved Too Fat but who ever recently purchased it is doing typical "buy a successful business then change it". Prices are insane now, options changed and no fresh ice tea now, only the junky fountain tea, barf. I'm never come back unfortunately. RIP Too Fat

I'm sad the ratings aren't higher! My buddy moved away two decades ago and still dreams of the dutch crunch bread. Wonderful customer service, and the tables are always clean if you dine-in. Yummy and fresh sides, like potato salad. Baked goods like mama made.

I have ordered a too fat special only for 30 years. Good news it still tastes the same. Thank you for keeping the tradition. The only sad part is a 12" sandwich is $21. If you told me a too fat special would be more than $20 some 30 years ago I think I would have got hooked on something else. PS I'll be back

Best sandwiches in Bakersfield. Whenever we come into town, we stop by this local establishment. We're always greeted with a smile and the dining room area is nice a cool with lovely decorations. Always a treat!

Fresh ingredients but the sandwich I ordered lacked any flavor and was not worth the price. The sides are average at best. I find the sandwiches at Jersey Mike's to be way better and a lot cheaper.

They advertise barbecue sandwiches, and then after you pay, tell you that the barbecue from Dickies. If I wanted Dickies, I would have gone to Dickies. I do not consider Dickies to be BBQ. Misleading advertising at its finest...

Sandwiches are delicious, but the service is horrible. They take their sweet time and it's almost like they have no idea what a sense of urgency is during lunchtime strongly thinking about never coming here again.

Ordered sandwiches for the office. Every sandwich was made wrong. Missing lettuce and condiments. Wrong meats inside. The Holland Dutch Crunch bread was so dry and stale. Sandwiches were small for the price paid. A whole sandwich is about 8" long for about $11.20. Although you get 20% off your first online order, it's still totally not worth it. You're better off getting a full $5 footlong from Subway...and that's saying a lot. I added an extra star for the cookie. It was pretty good. But maybe because it's the only thing in my meal that had flavor.

I will not go back. I literally spent 25 minutes of my lunch break waiting on my order. The sandwich was not as good as I thought. I purchased a chicken ranch and avocado sandwich and there was no seasoning. It was very bland and no flavor. The prices are very high for what it is too. I doubt I will ever go back. A McDonald's burger has more flavor and seasoning then the sandwhich I paid almost twenty dollars for. Not worth your time or money.

Mostly hood all around cold cuts. Killer pastrami is a meal in itself. Atmosphere is nothing to write about

I go here for lunch a lot. They have great sandwiches and the staff is awesome. I usually get Dutch crust bread but all of their selections are amazing. Whenever I go I gota get a cookie too. They even do half sandwiches. The dining area is very classy and seats a lot of people and it has a very welcoming feel

Only had them once and ordered it through uber eats I got a meatball sandwich and it was pretty tasty

Overpriced for the quality you get. There are way better sandwich places all over the place. I mean subway better than this place.

We ordered pastrami sandwiches and oh my they were fantastic! We got great service with updates! It's a great place to eat in or to take it on the run! Cute tables with checkered table cloths, beautiful murals on the walls and unique ceiling fans! A very friendly atmosphere!

I was flabbergasted at the quality of my sandwiches when I got home with them. Not only are Too Fat sandwich prices outrageously high, when you don't get what you expected - it's insult to the pocketbook injury! NOTE: I love Too Fat's sandwiches and have been a customer for many years. I've never used the 18th Street location before yesterday, and likely won't again. I ordered two whole sandwiches, Avocado and Sprouts. I asked for extra peppers and was charged $1.20 more to the $11.20 price of a sandwich, which is ok if they actually put them ON the sandwich! This is a veggie sandwich, not avocado added to a meat sandwich as a condiment. See for yourself! I took pictures of my sandwich: added peppers - no! And avocado didn't even get to the left quarter of the sandwich! REALLY?? This is an AVOCADO SANDWICH!! I'm very disappointed, shame on you for ripping customers off on to go orders. It would have been returned had I eaten there.

Pastrami sandwich was absolutely delicious with fine quality meat, tasty cheese and dressing - and the bread, just perfect! I highly recommend it. Even the humble peanut butter cookie after was truly exceptional. Attention to detail, quality ingredients prepared and served kindly and with care, I definitely intend on returning to try the rest of the menu..

Ummm I went here with my boyfriend and all we got was a salad and a sandwich.... A half an hour after ordering (it was empty inside btw) our food finally came and the salad was... i shit you not... covered with probably an entire pound of mozzarella cheese. Just straight out of a bag not fresh or anything. Pretty disgusting I didn't want to eat it and more importantly i didn't realize I ordered a cheese salad. I just left pissed off and left the salad there. Sad excuse of a salad. And the sandwich wasn't anything crazy either which ironically had almost no cheese. 0\10 will never be returning. Inside was cute tho that's abt it.

Not even getting the chance to rate the food today. Ordered off DoorDash and got a nasty call from the lady there. Several "oh my god" and "I can't even" from her just trying to tell me the potato soup is sold out. I didn't even bother with asking for an exchange since this lady was already on her last thread. I had the order cancelled and get the privilege of my funds on hold for the next 3 to 5 business days due to the issue. Last time I attempt to order from here on any day ending in a Y.

My gf likes this place so I like this place! She brings me sandwiches from here and they're good. They get busy so I always call in the order or order online.

I had ordered online for pickup. The website was easy to use with no problems. I left to go pick it up and when I walked in the store, I noticed two men in line not wearing face masks as instructed on the door. The men placed their order and leaned all on the counter, and the cashier didn't say anything to them. I have been in other places where people try that and they won't serve them. I understand they are trying to make money and face masks suck, but rules are rules. Made me wonder what other heath and safety shortcuts they take. I wish they would have had a bigger sign that pick up food was on the table. I waited in line for 15 minutes before I was told rudely my bag was on a table. Food was okay. I think almost every other place in town makes a better sandwich. I won't be going back.

My first time trying this place, and I was not over the top for the food. The prices are reasonable, and there are a lot of options to choose from, but the food was not good. The bread crumbled apart while biting into my sandwich not to mention the chicken really grossed me out, and the soup was bland. It's not something I would have again...best part of my purchase was the chocolate chip cookie.

Waited about 20 minutes for ONE tuna sandwich. After getting home, they gave me someone else's sandwich. Not enough sandwich makers in the back, and they were not wearing hair nets. Who knows if they were wearing gloves. They got mad when someone tried to raise the outside umbrellas that were apparently broken. Remove them then if you don't want anyone using them.

Friendly service, and they have outdoor seating too so if you wanna bring your furry friends. I ordered the French dip and it wasn't my favorite but the pizza was amazing. I definitely would come back to try another sandwich and the pizza

Love Too Fat sandwiches! #6 all day long! We moved away from the Ca mess a long time ago. But whenever we come back to visit there are a list of places we have to eat at. Too Fats is always on the list.

Over priced and the Name has to be an inside joke because these sandwiches are tiny I mean not for adult size. Won't be coming here again. And Overpriced at that. Lack taste as well.

Good sandwiches and great staff! I got the too fat special and it was delicious! Great price! The quality of the meats was amazing. Fresh and good quantity. I took a pic of the inside of it so you can see the layers of meat and veggies! Their pasta salad was also delicious. Highly recommend.

The cashier at the TooFat on Hageman is filthy. Her shirt and sweatshirt has dirt and unknown substances all over it. Yuck!

Very satisfied with this establishment. I am currently working with them for a catering service for 10 weeks and they have done an excellent job of setting up and making everything smooth and easy for parents at my school sites to enjoy a nice dinner during our workshops. Their store manager Andrea is very friendly and does a great job of communicating with me. Food is very delicious. Their bread rolls are too good that you can't just have one they have a variety of dinner options

First time trying this sandwich shop . Not happy about the quality of my pasta salad. Today is Jan 5 2021 and it was packaged on December 28. My veggie Sammy was pretty good oh FYI I had this delivered.

Really not okay with this. Selling bottled water at a profit during a viral outbreak when there's a shortage? Dude, I was already "meh" about the sandwiches, but kept trying to come back because your staff were so nice. Apparently the owners are greedy, profiteering jerks, so I walked out and I'm definitely not coming back.

We visited and picked up several sandwiches and a salad. I was very impressed with their Covid precautions. We asked for curbside service and the staff person came wearing a face shield. Everything was nicely packaged and everyone was happy with their food.

I work downtown so this is a pretty convenient place for lunch. Unfortunately, Too Fat sandwiches misses the mark. I had a tri tip sandwich. Giving 2 stars because they do give you a lot of meat, but it's rather flavorless and the bread it comes on is horrible. Won't be going back.

It was my first time here today. The cashier taking my order was nice and answered my questions. I ordered a simple turkey provolone on their signature Dutch bread and a side of potato salad. The sandwich it self was really thin. I've had subway sandwiches with more meat on it. The mayo tasted sweet almost as if they use miracle whip instead of mayo. The potato salad was good! The kicker was Too Fat Sandwiches trying to make a profit during the Covid-19 scare. They should be helping our community and instead of trying to make a buck. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I had tried some sandwiches here before when my MIL brought some left overs by from her work. They were delicious. The bread was sweet and crunchy like I like. Well ever since then(had been a few months back) I was craving their bread. We went there earlier this week and ordered the chicken club sandwich. It was sooo good! We ordered the giant size and split it. It was very well priced I thought for how much of a sandwich it was. The bread was sweet tasting just how I remembered. The lady working the front counter was very nice. I wish I had remembered her name. I will definitely be back.

If I had never ordered this sandwich before I would've not had this bread again, the bread is normally so amazing but today it was not soft, the deli meat is amazing the avocado was yummy, but the cheesy ranch roll was sadly not the same quality I had at the beginning of the week, it's my favorite so I was really sad. But the sandwich was still good

I ordered a tuna sandwich and it was the worst I've ever tasted! The tuna was low quality, not mixed well, and the bread was as hard as cement. Needless to say, it went in the trash. I spent $12.00 on the mess...

My first time eating here, and I had a pretty bad sandwich. Ordered the hot pastrami. The huge problem was the bread. The bread was exactly like STALE CAKE. That's the perfect way to describe it. It crumbled into gritty old-cake granules, see the photos I've included that were no more than 8 minutes after they made the sandwich. The exact opposite of what bread should be. It left sticky bread residue on my fingers like when you eat a Hostess cupcake. Note: the service was friendly and pretty quick, and the sandwich's actual filling was serviceable, nothing to go back for, but fine. It was the bread, which was supposed to be a white sub roll but.... really: Stale Cake is the only apt comparison.

Had lunch today and there bread is amazing. They make it fresh and love it Wish they were open a little later
