"This Rochester sports bar offers 80 beers on tap, thin-crust pizza, and large sliding doors that open to S Main Street. While you’re people watching and checking out the Italian-influenced menu (including Neapolitan pizzas) sip on a Grey Goose Essence Spritz, made with Grey Goose Essences, soda, and a large fruit garnish." - Vox Creative

Very cool place. We had went late on a weekend, the vibe, the ambience and food was amazing we tried Pesto based Pizza it was so tasty. We had tried chicken wings as well ( forgot to take pictures), they were super juicy and perfectly seasoned. Also the staff is so friendly.

I went with a group of 4 for dinner before a show at the Roxy. We went the Saturday after Thanksgiving at about 5:15pm and were told there would be a 30 minute wait. We anticipated having a wait so no big deal, and we were able to get a round of drinks at the bar while we waited. Great draft beer and cocktail selection. Our table was ready after exactly 30 minutes. Our server was nice and attentive, and the food came out pretty quickly despite the busy dinner crowd. Everything tasted great. Our table had the New York strip with truffle fries, the salmon dinner, a BLT pizza, mozzarella sticks, and chicken tenders with steak fries. The atmosphere was cozy and festive with plenty of TVs showing college football. We had a great experience and hope to be in the area to come by again soon.

Google
A really cool bar and tapas restaurant in downtown Rochester. We came with some friends after hearing good things about this place. Overall we had a really good time. The beer menu is extensive and has an amazing variety. They have lots of taps as well. They have a full cocktail menu as well with some custom cocktails. The menu is a good size, big enough to have some variety but not overwhelming. Everything we had was pretty good. The sweet potato fries we had were good and the sauce was really great. The Cuban I had was overly salty but was still good. The burger was also good. Overall everything was great and the prices were super high so acceptable. Highly recommended.

Anytime we want good pizza we go here. It is a great place to go as a family or on a date or to watch some sports. The pizza's are great. Love the atmosphere. It is comfortable yet still very nice. Being gluten free (not celiac) it is hard to find a good pizza & they maintain their standards. Every time we go, they are consistent & still tastes amazing. Always super friendly service! I have been going here for a few years now & will continue to do so.

Google
The restaurant is a cherished family endeavor, offering a welcoming dining experience. The culinary creations are truly exceptional, prepared with care and expertise. Each dish bursts with flavor, showcasing the dedication of the family. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for any occasion. The ambiance promotes relaxed conversations and shared meals. The restaurant's location is also a definite asset, easily accessible and quite pleasant. And best of all, it's a family business. From the father to the mother and including the kids, all work here.

Google
Truffle fries were so amazing! Fish and chips were okay. Fish were very falling apart, but the potatoe wedges were amazing, hot , and fresh. Vegan gluten-free pizza was good, but the arugula was bland. Bloody Mary's were our favorite. We highly recommend it!!! Great views of the game with twenty televisions

Google
The service from our waitress was ok she just had a larger section. I'd go 4.5 ⭐ if Google would let me. Atmosphere was nice. Entree's were a tad on the expensive side at an avg $28.00 per person we order multiple different things to try the menu and picked on all of them.. The best item we had was the chicken and rings. The chicken was definitely prepared fresh the breading was light and not overwhelming. We also liked the Truffle fries, the oil on the fries tased well seasoned and really had a good truffle flavor. Least favorite dish - Nachos. They came out soggy from the back, IMO the shredded chicken they were using needed to be strained from the liquid more before putting on the chips. Next time I'll try the beef and taste the difference. If your going you want to watch out for the delicious espresso cake. It would pair well with an after dinner coffee, but it is insanely rich.... YUM!!! Overall this was a great time, I will try other things next time I return..

Google
As an out-of-state visitor this restaurant was amazing, the prices are fair and not too expensive. My partner and I both got thin crust pizza's and they were made well, delicious, and filling. Our server was phenomenal, coming to check on us at perfect times and never when we had a mouth full of food. It was a cool atmosphere and the amount of draft options was pretty cool to see -and order from- all in all in was a great experience!

Yelp
Came here for dinner as it was a spot that my family and I had not visited before and they have plenty of gluten free (GF) options for those that need or prefer it. The atmosphere is very "sports bar" but it was not loud and obnoxious as I typically associate with said places. The service is very prompt and the food selections are what you would expect from this type of establishment. What I did not expect was how good the food is. I enjoy cooking and do so often which makes me rather picky about eating out so it was very pleasant surprise at how well prepared and delicious our food was. A large plate of nachos as an appetizer which was clearly made with high quality chips, freshly sliced toppings and well seasoned ground beef. A burger and fries for my son with a gluten free bun and proprietary fryer for their GF fries. My wife ordered the shrimp tacos which was also GF and I ordered the steak quesadilla. Decent selection of beverages: beer, wine, spirits and otherwise. I will definitely come back if I'm in the area and would be happy to recommend it to others.

Yelp
I had driven by TooRaLoo many times and had made a notion about this place as crowded and loud probably cos of the sports bar set up. Finally got a chance to visit on a Sunday evening . The place was full to half its capacity and felt lively yet calm and welcoming especially with the St. Patrick's day decorations. There was trivia going on tv which you could participate in by downloading the app. We ordered the A2 special pizza with additional toppings and it was yummy with loads of arugula which I love. The chocolate cake was also decadent. Our hostess for the day was really sweet and attentive. This place is open till midnight on weekdays and worth going for a late-night bite.

Yelp
Great place for large grounds with a group of 6 we walked right in and sat down. Irish sports bar ambiance. I got the grizzly pizza and it was good, there was an unbelievable amount of toppings on it which made it pretty greasy. Drink prices were good and service was good. Overall our group found their food to be just ok, however, everyone agreed it was a great place to grab drinks with a group.

Yelp
Nice downtown place to watch sports or enjoy an evening in Downtown Rochester, especially in the summer when they can open all the slide away windows that wrap both corners. The fish and chips and their crispy chicken tender meals have some of the crispiest batter around. Also the onion rings with the chicken platter have that same extra crunchy coating. Drinks are good but service can be slow on the busier weekend evenings.

Yelp
Came in with the family for dinner and wasn't impressed. Wife ordered a salad with chicken and came out without the chicken. Told the server just keep it since the salad is almost gone. She brings it out anyways and says they made do you just want to take it and put it in a box. Figured she wouldn't have charged us but she did at $7.00 for chicken that should have been on the salad. Manager chased us out of the building saying we shorted the bill by $2 which is bull we counted it twice. Wouldn't recommend this place service and food not up to par.

Yelp
Place is horrible. I used to go frequently with a friend of mine who lives in downtown Rochester. My drivers license was expired so I had a temporary license as well as my green card. I have been a green card holder since my parents and I moved here back in 1998. In any case the waitress told me she would have to check and see if my valid government issued identification was good for me to verify my age. Some smug owner came up to me with a big old smile on their face and they couldn't wait to tell me that my id wasn't valid. I explained that I have provided them with a valid government issued id. He told me that Michigan law says that only drivers licenses are valid which is 100% incorrect. Long story short I will never go back to a place that refuses to serve someone that did nothing wrong. Rude smug jerk offs run this establishment.

Yelp
It was girls get together on occasion of women's day. Restaurant was spacious with no wait time. We enjoyed watching trivia game screen while waiting for our drinks and Pizza. Overall food was good . We ordered cocholate cake which was really rich in flavour and fulfilling. Good place to hangout.

Yelp
In our personally part 2 of eating around Rochester, we found ourselves at Too Ra Loo. It had been on our food list and came recommended by an acquaintance. While most people working here were very kind, and went out of their way to assist us, the hostess was curt and not overly eager to assist and continued to be a bit salty the entire night as we had a few interactions with this person. As mentioned, the rest of the staff was amazing. The server super friendly, several other people stopped by the table to make sure all was well. The space is cute, your typical bar. It seems very popular, there were parties going on and many people waiting to eat. Their pineapple cocktail was okay. Where it's at is with their diverse beer selection. We tried a fluffer nutter stout, very good. I was craving a Sam Adam's cherry wheat, which is very basic since they had so many good choices, but it was refreshing. The pours were good. Not all places can pour a good, cold beer, but they did here. Looking at Yelp, it seemed like many people liked the pizza, so we had the Spartan, no peppers, add chicken. It was very flavorless and mediocre. The crust was good in ranch. But I did not like it. Oh well. The other food looked good, maybe this was not the thing to order. We also had the truffle fries. Those were really good, a bit pricey, but tasty, the regular ranch was awesome. I did not care for the siracha ranch though. If you were to ask me if I would come back, I would if there was a group of friends or people who wanted to hang out and try their large beer selection.

Yelp
Friend dragged me here. Sports bar with bar food. Ordered chicken and rings mostly because I didn't want to spend $21 on a burger and fries. No plans to return.

Yelp
It's a bar, a sports bar. With a name such as Too Ra Loo I was expecting an Irish Bar. Anyhow, fairly large, clean, open air wall to Rochester Road (Main Street). Huge tap which I did not get to enjoy (lunch from work). Good service, prompt and friendly. It was not busy at noon on Tuesday but I drove past on Monday and it seemed to be jumping. I thought the menu was limited to just bar food but I think that's what they are going for. I had a bowl of chili, made with roasted beef not ground and with most restaurant chili it could have used more heat (but they are cooking for the masses not a hot pepper addict). Also had fish and chips. Good chips, really good if not a touch too salty but I put salt on nothing so a normal person might add salt. The fish was really good, not greasy. I would say only two pcs of fish seems light but I didn't finish the second pc (they were thick).. While I may not go back for lunch, I could see stopping in for beer, sports and dinner.

Yelp
Im so mad im writing this review at my table. Our server is RUDE. We've been here for 45 minutes and for the first 35 she would not take our order, servicing every table around us but not us. She ignored my eye contact til I called her over to order. I get service jobs are annoying but if you're gonna ignore your customers and walk around with a face, maybe it's time to work in a different industry. Since it took her so long to take our order I can't say how todays food tasted but the few times I've been here it's been good. I'm just severely unhappy with the level of service on a Sunday with this place at less than half capacity.
google avatar

Lauren D.

Yelp
I was super surprised to find out they're a sister restaurant with Otooles in Royal Oak. I love that. My service was good. Drinks were decent. I got mozzarella sticks, not worth $10 for sure but I guess they did the job.
google avatar

Michael Y.

Yelp
Had an afternoon late lunch with a friend and it was a very enjoyable experience. Food was good (had the chicken sandwich) and the service was great. Hostess and waitress were very friendly. Waitress Olivia stopped by regularly to kindly ask if we were enjoying our meals and to refill our waters. Sports bar atmosphere was nice and the open window seats facing Rochester Road were a bit loud at times with the outside traffic, but the breeze coming in and bright sunny day made it well worth it. Would definitely recommend and hope to try it again in the future.

Taylor L.

Yelp
Food is god awful. Service is sub-par. However, I don't mind the atmosphere. It's a convenient place to go downtown to get my favorite cider that they usually have on draft. That's the only reason I go really. Wish the food was edible though.
google avatar

Yelp
We stopped by for a working lunch, our service was outstanding. We both had salads that were plentiful for the smalls and I also had stuffed pepper soup which was amazing. The ambiance is great with their ability to open the doors to the outside for enjoying beautiful days.

Yelp
I've been frequenting Too Ra Loo off and on over the past few years now and tonight's visit just stood out to me. For starters, it was Friday night and pretty busy in downtown Rochester overall, and in the restaurant itself. All that being said, what hit me most was our server, George's attentiveness and chill way about him. Strange to say, but the fact he even introduced himself by name is somewhat unique it seems these days. I chose some pretty typical bar food by ordering a Philly cheesesteak and side of onion rings and a ROAK Devil Dog beer. The portions were large and everything was delivered pretty quickly and George checked in with us just the right amount to make sure we were all good. I typically enjoy sitting at the bar itself, this time though my son and I sat at a hightop. The restaurant is an open space and the bar gives it that extra bit of ambiance that I like. Overall, I recommend Too Ra Loo, and I've never had a bad experience with food, wait time or anything. Hope this helps you make a choice for your next visit to downtown Rochester :) Oh yeah, one last thing, I totally forgot to take pictures. There's always next time ...

Yelp
After hours of hard work I was struggling to find a place to settle down and have my dinner for the night. I came across this establishment and was blown away. As I walked into the front door I notice the energy of this place was electric in a sense where they were on top of their customer service. I was greeted at the door with positivity, and was served excellent by a gentleman named Dardan. I ordered their spartan pizza and it came out lightning fast. I have no complaints whatsoever with the food I ate and I look forward to coming back very soon!
google avatar

R.S. B.

Yelp
We've been several times, and have no complaints. Staff is friendly and efficient, the draft beer selection is excellent, love the open windows in warm weather, and their margherita pizza is far better than it has any right to be!

Yelp
Had show tix in the area and wanted drinks/dinner prior. Two of us arrived at 5:50, there were about 10 open tables. Son and gf were 10 mins away. We were told they wouldn't seat us until all 4 were present but we could "stand at the rail". Note there are no 2-tops so even if we were alone we would still be seated at a 4-top. Standing at The rail is like standing on top/hovering over people that are seated and eating as well, so rude and awkward for them. There was zero reason not to seat us, as we would have ordered drinks and apps in the meantime and we've met people there before and never had this issue. Waitress asked if we wanted a drink at the "rail", we declined stating that we'd spend money once we were seated comfortably. In the meantime they seated incomers at open tables, meaning that within a short time there would no longer be open tables and our wait would be longer. Finally we were seated, hostess came over and said "Im gonna go ahead and seat you" like she was doing us a favor. Our son/gf arrived as we sat. Then, we sat. And sat. And sat. Table next to us was seated after us, but orders were being taken. It was 10 mins before my husband asked a manager(?) gentleman if we could be acknowledged/order. He asked the server that was with the newer table and she said "Its not my table" She eventually did end up taking care of us. Food was a full 30 min wait. All drinks ordered were during happy hour but when the bill came it was clear that they overcharged. Beers $3 charged at $4. $6 ghost tequila charged at $8 etc. Trying NOT to be a jerk and cause a dark cloud on our evening I told my hubs just pay it. Last time we'll go here, so many other options in the area.

Yelp
I've been here a few times to eat over the years and keep putting off writing a review for some reason, so I guess it's finally time. Sometimes this place is busier than others, but last night it was steady. The menu has a decent selection of items to choose from overall, prices are about $15 on average a person, give or take. From what I've experienced in the past, most times you do get decent portion sizes for what they charge, so that's awesome. I ended up splitting a plate of nachos with my friend since it was enormously huge. I mean, like easily a 2 person meal. They were out of brisket, so we had to go with the chicken instead. Fine. My friends drink got sent back because he felt it was a bit weak, but whatever. While the food was good, a few things could have been better. For starters, it was about 6PM when we were there, and I didn't see or hear from our server about any happy hour specials. Ok, fine. But, the music was excessively LOUD. At times, we both felt like we were screaming just to hear each other. They could have turned it down a notch. Extremely annoying. Also, our server came by a few times, but did disappear a lot. We couldn't find her for a long stretch when we were ready for our bill, and was slow on refilling drinks. Also, hostess was very professional but curt and pushy about seating me while I waited for said friend. I was only standing in their very small waiting area for maybe 2 minutes and she kept pushing me to get seated no less than 3 times. Chill lady, I'm going to stand here in the corner and wait, okay? Overall not a bad place. Other times I've come here and they've had fabulous service and I've been seated quickly but the music's always been extremely loud here consistently. Foods decent but pricey, will be back in the future most likely.

Yelp
Love too Ra Loo! Service is always good and the food to me resembles upscale bar food. Their quesadilla and fried pickles are my absolute favorite. They also have lots of fun cocktails and their happy hour menu is great!
google avatar

CJ M.

Yelp
This review is based on the food, the service was great! Overall, I was disappointed in the food. Ordering the steak, a side salad and pizza I expected one to be satisfying. However, all three dishes were subpar and I would not go out of my way to eat them or here again. This is a bar atmosphere with dive bar cuisine, excluding the price. I hope it was an off night or just a really bad cut of meat, but the rivers of butters and exuberant about of minced garlic leads me to believe otherwise. ** great iced tea!
google avatar

gwen s.

Yelp
Sat at the bar. Beer choices were great. One of the bartenders was lovely however I didn't really hear the other two speak even though one took our order. The food came out cold. We ate it because we were starving and because not one of the three bartenders bothered to ask us how it was. Once we asked for our check, the manager was summoned. His first words were (not hello, my name is, etc) just "What's the problem!?!" My husband persisted and one of our items was comped. Again, the beers were good. I will not return.
google avatar

J J.

Yelp
Cheapest draft beer over $5. No specials. Open late , but dead for an Irish bar at night.
google avatar

Auralia H.

Yelp
This was a cool sports bar! So many TV's everywhere, the perfect spot to go for game days. They have many beers on tap, but if your not a big beer drinker, they also have a cocktail list. I got the French 75 and it was good. We also ordered a buffalo chicken pizza and fries, which were also delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been here at least 5-10 times. The last time I came in was a Friday night and I called at 8:45 asking if they had a table for 4, I was told to come in, yes:) I came just after 9 as I was super close and in the area after a basketball game. It was myself, my two sisters and my sister's boyfriend. A man at the host booth turned us away and didn't even let us enter, saying it was after 9 and we need to be 21+. I'm 29:-/ I was so annoyed and angry and the host was so rude I didn't even want to question him. I didn't want to give him our business. We were all 4 over 18!! He didn't even ask to see anyone's ID. I was chaperoning my party and doing the speaking. I was furious we left and had dinner down the street. Whoever this mid 30s? Aged male host was; needs to have a customer service check and work on it!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Came during the MAHA playoffs- our group of people grew WAY beyond what we originally called for or announced. The staff was incredible. They accommodated the changes, our sever was AMAZING, the food was good and the drinks kept coming. 10/10 recommend

Sarah H.

Yelp
Food 5 out of 10. Service 0. Manager is awesome. And this was at lunch time. Can't imagine dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
"Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral" -- Irish for "Goodbye; I'll be seeing you." So here, Hello means Goodbye apparently. So when entering tell the host "Goodbye!", they will know what it means. Now, to say hello in Irish Gaelic, you say..."Dia duit, conas atá tú" This is according to google translate, so it might be off a bit. Word of warning, if you are by yourself and want a window seat over looking scenic Rochester rd, good luck, you can't get one of those tables. Even if the place is empty and not busy. Those are reserved for groups of 3 or more, or for the hosts to lean on while working. And they will lean! I can see why they won't give them up, looks comfortable. I would have probably done the same back in the day. Being a host sucks when dealing with people in general. Easy pay though, and who cares about some rando wanting a window seat, I mean, first world problems anyone? Go eat your pre frozen burger at the bar, boomer! Actually I don't know if the meat Pattie's are pre-frozen, so get the fish and chips instead, the fish is fresh out of the paint creek river. Glen the fisherman does a bang up job. He needs a raise!

Sharon L.

Yelp
Great, attentive service but drinks were mediocre at best. We already ate and just stopped in for a few drinks.

Kay T.

Yelp
Sat at the bar for a beverage and a snack.... White fish small plate delicious!! Server ! Had to ask for napkins, she gave us cocktail napkins. I then requested a couple of plates, and how about a knife?! Delivered w/o a smile ‍ I still believe...Tis the season!!

Yelp
3.5 really but i rounded up to 4. Met some friends here for lunch. They werent too busy but our server didn't seem very happy to be there. They have a lot of interesting pizza options so i went with the belgian pizza. The brussells sprouts on it were microscopic, not very generous at all with toppings. It tasted good but i was expecting more. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich with a couple modifications and it came out incorrectly. She still ate it and said the chicken was cooked perfectly despite them forgetting some things on the sandwich. There is something on the menu for everyone, i would return and maybe try another pizza or some of their apps like the nachos looked very good

Yelp
We come here after golf on Tuesday evenings about 10 times a year. 9/10 we have good service, and the food is very good. Great drink and beer selection, and both sitting at the bar and at tables we've had really good service. The mid-summer nights here are great with the windows open. I find this place very clean and the staff attentive. While most places seem to struggle to find decent workers, Too Ra Loo seems to be ahead of the curve. Good selection from the menu. Burgers are really good, and the various salmon dishes are excellent! I love salmon, but a lot of "bar" type restaurants have no idea how to cook it, but not here! The grilled wings are great and something you'd make at home, which is a plus! Beef tips also very tasty. The "parfait" dessert is one of my favorites as well!

Yelp
Food was amazing, but service was slow and the restaurant was empty. The vibe is great and would recommend.

Yelp
Too Ra Loo is one of my favorites in downtown Rochester. Great atmosphere, food, and drinks. Every time I have come here - it has been a great experience. Service and staff are also consistent and friendly. One of the best things about Too Ra Loo is the bar selection. Hard cider is my go-to drink and most places have one or two hard ciders and maybe if you are lucky you can get it on tap. However, Too Ra Loo usually has 7-10 hard ciders at a time. I know I can go here and try something other than a Blake's (nothing wrong with Blake's but they are the hard cider kings in Metro Detroit). I will warn that every time I have come here there is a wait - not usually a long wait, but a wait. The decor is welcoming and not stuffy. Bathrooms are usually clean along with the rest of the restaurant. No outside seating but during the warmer months they do have panel doors that open to let the outside in. The most recent time coming here - was their 3 year anniversary of being open (had no idea!). Too Ra Loo was running an anniversary special of $3.00 off the small plates menu and $3.00 margaritas and pina coladas. The drinks were in tiny glasses but they both had great flavor and taste. Food wise - there is nothing bad on the menu. The mozzarella sticks were piping hot and fresh! Tons of pizza options - with all different types of flavor combinations. Very good portion sizes on the small plates. Could easily order two small plates and be held over for dinner. Now the only downside is the price. Drinks, plus apps, plus dinner - can easily get real pricey, real quick!

Yelp
A Monday lunch. Shared loaded brisket chili- with onions and sour cream- good tasted kinda smoky, though really thin consistency.also had Reuben sandwich, with kraut- was huge. Served on marble rye bread. Side of onion rings - cooked just right. Had Arnold Palmer for my beverage. Waitress was efficient and refilled tea as needed. I didn't partake- but noticed Rochester pricing on domestic draft beer $7 each.

Sue L.

Yelp
Service great! Drink selection awesome! It's a Tuesday and around 4pm, so it's not busy. I ordered calamari and it was not good. I've had it here before and it usually is so good. It was mushy and parts of it taste raw. I'm positive the manager saw me grab a napkin and spit it out but then looked away. If you scroll through pictures for this restaurant, you will see how it's supposed to look. I will post on how unappealing it was. I did say something to the bartender. Waste of $13. I will be back and hopefully will be able to update my review with a good one.

Dee S.

Yelp
Excellent atmosphere and greeted with a smile. It went downhill from there. Hubs and I went for lunch. Bartender was surly. Efficient, yet surly. Beer was warm and way overpriced. Hubs and I each got sandwiches. First time I have EVER gotten a sandwich with ZERO chips. ZERO. Food was decent. Salmon sandwich was loaded with teriyaki. No butter on my bun requested, SURPRISE....butter on my bun. Didn't waste my time complaining because again, bartender not friendly. We're not planning on visiting again. Oh, $2 upcharge on bill to cover our visa.

Yelp
Super slow service for it being a Sunday night at 7:30 pm. I came with a group of six and was sat immediately. I enjoyed the open view with windows showing each side of the streets. The fries were cold, but the server came back with hot new fries. My salad was good. Worth $12? No. I'd order something different next time. Maybe I'd do a carry out next time if Im in the area.

Yelp
This is a good place to come if you just want a drink but if you're coming here for just dinner, it's not great. The food is overpriced and not anything great. The pops tasted watered down. Both the coke and sprite. The ranch was good though.

Yelp
Haven't been here in a while. Had wonderful fish & chips and everyone else here enjoying their meals. Friendly and quick service too!

Yelp
First...and last time visiting. The food was awful, service was so slow, menus and tables were dirty. There are so many restaurant choices in downtown Rochester...don't waste your time or money here. I gave two stars because they had a really great 80's music playlist playing.

Yelp
So pleasantly surprised by our meals and apps!! Good solid bar food with quite a variety of choices on the menu. Our table zeroed in on the chicken and it was a homerun! Their battered chicken gives the perfect crunch. I enjoyed it as a sandwich and others enjoyed it just as chicken strips. The fried pickles were also a hit and came with a heavenly sauce. We all agreed this is our go-to place for after work dinner and drinks. With COVID restrictions they provide enough space between tables and the windows open up so much you feel that you are outdoors.

Yelp
Had a great meal. Service a little slow, but food was good. Atmosphere was nice Wasn't busy as it was later on Sunday. So no reason for slow service. But good food

Yelp
Let's start with the positive about this place. The bar looked busy with a bunch of Plenty of Fish first dates LOL! Ok, now that we got that out of the way, once you enter beware the hostess looks miserable. Once you are sat at a table, you will then wait for a server to even acknowledge you are in their section. Once they do, don't expect water. Then you order a drink from the menu only to find out it's out (no worries, it happens). Then you order a food item from the menu only to find out it changes (no worries it happens). Then you realize you don't have water, silverware, plates, condiments etc. (no worries it happens). Right? Please say right? Then you see another table walked out because the service was so bad (no water, no drinks, no food, no service). Then you realize another table across the restaurant left unhappy as well. Then you see another table try to eat their appetizer without silverware or condiments. The you hear a table was charged incorrectly. My hearing is not great but so far that's 4 + 1 tables having an issue of a restaurant that had less than 10 checks (without counting the awkward POF dates). Not bad! It's rare to see a restaurant perform so poorly on the only thing they can control, themselves and their service. From the hostess, to the waitress to the manager, to whomever else was there, perhaps something other than the service industry would be better fit.

Yelp
The fish and chips had a plate full of chips with 2 small pieces of fish on top. Looked like I had ordered just a plate of chips. Also, the music is so loud that you have to repeat your order to the waitress. On the plus side, the Traverse City chicken salad was very good ... and there are plenty of beers to choose from.

Yelp
I'm writing this review in hopes that management will make some changes for the better. My husband and I used to live in downtown Rochester, we recently moved about 15 minutes away for a shorter work commute due to a job change. Too-Ra-Loo used to be "our spot" 2 years ago. We went back tonight and it was really sad because I'm not sure we will be back again.... We waited ~10 minutes before any server came to our table and the place was not busy, we walked in and were seated right away. Our 2 person table was awkward, it did not push all the way up against the wall because the stand at the bottom hit the wall before the tabletop, was worried I was going to lose utensils or my phone in the crack the whole dinner. I had the nachos, they were good aside from the canned chicken on them. No canned chicken, ew. Otherwise had a good amount of fresh tomatoes, green onions and peppers. My husband had the TRL burger. We used to get the burger alll the time and it was the best burger in town. Now, the patty has changed. It's thinner, dry, overcooked. We had the sautéed calamari for an app, that was actually pretty good. The cinnamon sugar dip for the sweet potatoes fries also changed, but not improved. The music was TERRIBLE. SO BAD. It ruined the vibe. It was 7pm and they were playing Taylor Swift Lovestory and Backstreet Boys. If I wanted to listen to terrible music I would go to Main Street Billiards. That's not dinner music. This place has so much potential. There is no theme or identity to the place. Not sure we will be back...

Yelp
I also would only write this restaurant 2 stars, We came off the bike trail looking for a brewpub it was told about this restaurant. Attempted to lock our bikes to the railing in front since there were no bike racks the manager sent a young girl out to tell us we couldn't do that we had to welcome to a light post. I understand if the city won't let us do that but I felt the manager could come and tell us himself, the food was good they had lots of beer but we would not go back nor would I recommend it for anyone else especially the people on the bike path coming to town for lunch
