How to Buy Antique and Vintage Cocktail Glasses for Your Home Bar | Eater

"A Prospect Heights cocktail bar opened by Del Pedro where vintage glassware is central to the service and aesthetic. The owner and staff routinely use antique vessels—footed sour glasses for sours and stirred whiskey drinks, roly poly tumblers for Old Fashioneds, frosted Libbey pilsners for draft beer, and a mix of sturdy Libbey and ultra-thin Japanese champagne coupes—to create a ’drink seriously’ mentality and evoke a Mad Men–era vibe; the owner also keeps favorites at home to enjoy and show friends." - Gray Chapman

Google
Vibes are great! They have happy hour from 4-7 pm, with select cocktails for $10. We had two cocktails from their regular menu, which ranged from $15-18 - both delicious! Definitely would recommend.

Google
A mysterious dimly lit bar with old school ambiance, jazzy background songs and amazing happy hour deals. We especially loved the sparkling wine ($10!), our prosciutto dates appetizer was ok, I expected a bit meatier dates but it did the job. Very impressive cocktail menu, will be back to try. A perfect place for a fall/winter date.

Google
Super cute! We were visiting our friend and wanted to stop for a drink after popping into the Brooklyn museum and this spot was perfect! Charming inside and outside (where we sat). They were kind enough to make me my own favorite cocktail (Sidecar) despite the gorgeous creative drinks on their menu, so I appreciated that. My friend got the Jalepiña and we both loved our drinks!

Google
Delicious cocktail drinks for a reasonable price. I had the Tomatillo highball (green). My wife had the Crown Heights Negroni (red). Service was a bit slow, but this also was a laid back chill spot. Did not order food.

Google
I'm so happy I visited Tooker Alley! On the recommendation of a friend who was having a birthday, we all went here and had an amazing time. If you enjoy well made craft cocktails, then this is the place for you! The menu alone is unbelievable. The descriptions provided for each cocktail read like a story. What I also love is that the menu isn't too overwhelming with options. The waitress was also extremely friendly and very knowledgeable on drinks in general. I can't wait to come back here!

Google
Wish we found this place sooner, the perfect bar you can ask for. Came here after walking through the neighborhood and decided to stop by and grab a drink. The menu contains quite a few options! Our cocktails were delicious and the waiting staff were very friendly. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Google
This is a great bar to feel like a local in the neighborhood. - every Sunday and Monday, they have to love jazz. The musicians rotate, so it is a different vibe all the time and all-around great music - great cocktails. The menu is very detailed and historical, with a great selection, and the bartender, Raul, is very attentive. All the menu cocktails (that I’ve had) are delicious, and you can tell Raul what you are in the mood for and what you like, and he will mix you something along those lines - I have yet to be disappointed - food: the menu is from the restaurant next door. They partnered up during the pandemic when NYC mandated that all restaurants with to-go alcohol had also to serve food. I haven’t ordered food there, so I cannot speak to that experience.

Google
Temperature was taken at the door. contact tracing information was taken as well. We were given the option of sitting inside, outside in the front cabana or outside in the back yard. The server was very curtious and the bartender was very sweet. We enjoyed our date here. Would return again. The hot drink was delicious

Yelp
I really love this little '20s themed cocktail bar. What makes it special is that they have live jazz on Sunday and Monday nights from 8PM to 10:30PM. This type of joint is ripe for live jazz, as it's a dark, rustic spot. They have some nice crafted cocktails, including a play on the mai tai using mezcal.

Yelp
Every time I come from the Brooklyn Museum, I end up here. Literally across the street and never crowded. It was around 9pm on a Thursday. This time I was surprised to find out that they have a backyard filled with dangling lights, ceiling protectors, and plants. The interior is really nice as well with perfect sepia mood lighting. In the past, they've had live jazz and it is the perfect venue. Definitely date night vibes, but no requirements to dress up. I had the cutest cocktail and they even gave me the overflow in a smaller glass. Presentation- adorable. The guacamole was decent, no complaints or anything to rave about. I was just happy that the medium had a little kick to it. And the server was super nice. Constantly checked in and complimented us. She looked genuinely happy to be there.

Yelp
I've walked by this spot many times. I finally ventured inside late Saturday night. You walk into a dimly lit warm looking space and pick a spot on the cushy bench seat to your left and let the night begin. I love to try different gin cocktails and their menu had a few. However, I ordered a classic gin gimlet. I fell in love with the bartender, b/c it was a good balanced cocktail. My friend had a vodka gimlet and they enjoyed theirs. So them seem to do classics well. Their drinks average about $15-$17 (HH is cheaper), which seem to be the new BK price....LOL! I do miss $11 cocktails but I digress. I'll definitely venture back!

Yelp
The service was outstanding. We had 4 drinks and an order of olives 75$. There is a small menu and a large drink list. The bar is mostly dark wood with a large banquette.

Yelp
Located within walking distance of the Brooklyn museum with great food, drinks and nice staff. I was waiting for friends running late to a night Brooklyn museum event and Tooker Alley saved me. When I walked in, I saw a few seats at the bar but a client stopped me saying she was saving the seats. The staff spotted me a little lost with what to do as it was also raining and the outdoor seating was soaked. I was guided to a small table. If the staff hadn't spotted me and helped, I likely would have left to try find another place. I wish I could remember the name of the drink I had, all I know is it had gin and I enjoyed it. I had a salmon roll and chicken dumplings. I did not expect the food to be SO GOOD. My friends ended up joining me mid-meal and we fought over the dumplings. Staff was quick to accommodate my friends at my table. Lovely jazz music was playing in the background. We were so tempted to cancel our plans and stay put for the night. Highly recommend if you're looking for food and drinks after a museum outing.

Yelp
Great service! The waitress with the red hair and glasses is fantastic! Guac is also tasty

Yelp
Came by this cocktail bar on a Saturday afternoon to eat up some time. Trendy seating both inside and outside, with plenty of spots available at the bar. Decided on the Martinez No.1 ($15) cocktail - a super strong combination of gin, vermouth, and bitters. Though it doesn't seem like much in the glass, definitely packs a punch. For food, split the Vegetable Dumplings ($12) - 6 moderately packed steamed dumplings with a decent amount of flavor. Service takes some time as they put some effort in the cocktails. Good spot for a date if it's not crowded.

Yelp
Drinks are definitely creative and pretty balanced. I got the Return of the Desert Samurai, honestly, I've never tasted anything like it, HIGHLY RECOMMEND (warning: it is very spirit forward). Now the best thing about this place is the ambiance and vibe, absolutely top notch date night spot. Note: When it's cold outside, they close the backyard.

Yelp
The craft cocktails here never disappoint. It's a nice date, meetup spot. I love the ambience.

Yelp
I've come here on several occasions. The drinks never fail. Most recently entered the bar on a Friday evening around 5pm for pre-dinner drinks. It wasn't too crowded, just enough space for us to grab seats at the bar. The bar in general has deep dark tones giving it a prohibition era feel. The bartender is attentive and whips up cocktails quickly. My friend and I got the Haymaker's Punch. It's the perfect combination of tart and sweet. Hits the spot and has you feeling super nice and ready to either stay for another round or move on to the main event. Always consistent. I'll be back to try other craft cocktails. Head on over after a trip to the Brooklyn Museum. 5

Yelp
Had some drinks at Tooker Alley on a rainy Friday night. While I did not love the drinks I tried, the variety and creativity are there. However, I would wait longer to return because of the steep COVID food policy and limited seating really being an issue. Quality: After dinner, we decided to stop into Tooker Alley for a cocktail. Ended up trying a few options on the menu, all of which were fine, but none I would order again. The excitement of being back in a cocktail bar, led me to just stick with the menu, but I believe they would have been happy to make something more my style. The drinks I did try were the Peach Bourbon Belle, El Lumo, and Return Of The Desert Samurai. Peach Bourbon Belle was the sweetest and my favorite of the bunch. El Lumo was unique, but overwhelmed in orange, and I did not like the smell or aftertaste of Return Of The Desert Samurai. They also required a food purchase, per person, from the Asian restaurant next door. There were no small snack options like many other bars are using like chips, nuts, or olives, so you may end up with more food than you may want. Quantity: Cocktails were on the smaller side, but quite strong. Value: $14-15 for all the Cocktails on the menu. $7 was the minimum price for food items. Ambiance: Tooker Alley is located in the Prospect Heights area of Brooklyn. They had a few tables outside, in a structure that they appeared to share with the neighboring Asian restaurant, then they had capacity for twelve inside. The actual bar is on the right side of the indoor space, but they do not permit guests to sit there at this time. Instead it was at assorted and spread out tables. It was pretty dark and inside had a little bit of a musty smell, partially caused by the wood and exposed brick. They also kept the door open, I assume for COVID reasons, but on this cooler evening, it was not the most comfortable. Crowd: As a result of limited indoor capacity, every table was full on Friday night. I watched as many people chose to leave because they did not wish to wait out in the cold. Service: The staff was great, and I appreciated their candor as we waited for a table to open up. However, I was not happy about the need to purchase a food item per person. Having come right from dinner, food was not necessary, and it seemed excessive, especially in comparison to COVID food policies elsewhere. Parking: Some street parking in the area.

Yelp
What an amazing space! The vibe is very warm and welcoming. That particular night there was live music. We had great drinks and food. We could not have asked for better service. Despite it being busy, they were very attentive and friendly. Looking forward to returning to Tooker Alley next time we are in Brooklyn.

Yelp
Tooker is still one of our very favorite spots, and it's been great seeing how Del has been handling the challenges 2020 has been throwing at him. New for this year is seating on Washington Avenue, with a great looking seating enclosure with umbrellas and plastic dividers. Also new is a partnership with The Asian spot next door, which means you now have access to tasty Japanese & Chinese food to accompany your cocktails. And this weekend the spacious garden area in the back has opened for your lounging pleasure! Since accessing the garden requires a walk through the bar, temperatures and contact information are taken before your party is shown to a table. Other measures to ensure everything is safe & clean include plastic sleeved menus and thorough cleaning between guests. Tooker continues to be one of the very best cocktail spots in the area!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this bar randomly after going to the Brooklyn Museum which is only 3 minutes away. They serve Chinese take out from a restaurant close by i believe so we had dumplings and veggie tempura with our drinks. The interior is cozy but spacious. Great date spot or a low key night out with friends.

Yelp
Spot on for craft cocktails. Walking distance from Brooklyn museum, definitely a neighborhood gem.

Yelp
Can't believe I never rated this place. I have been here many times and remember when it opened years ago! Nice vibe, great drinks. For when you want your drink done right! Cocktail list: Mexodus- good with many flavors going on..to many for me Last of the o-Hopkins- Oh hell yes to this!!! Not on the list so ask. Mezcal drink Thyme after thyme - very good with an herbal flavor - on the lighter side. A nice summer day drink. El lumo - mezcal with tiki flavors and a flower-delicious! Last of the dessert samurai - spirit forward- not for me. Audrelita- mezcal with sweet vermouth Ruffneck - winter cocktail- comes with almond brittle! Nice touch. Yummy. But drink is not a favorite.

Yelp
Awesome vibey, low-lit cocktail spot with live jazz music on Sunday. Food was really fresh and tasty as well. Coming back every Brooklyn trip.

Yelp
Unexpected find. Great spot for a date or small gathering with friends. Speakeasy type of vibe...Quiet and dimly lit, and large choice of delicious cocktails.

Yelp
I actually first discovered this place by coming in to interview for a job as a server (which I got!) and while it's been many years since I worked here, I still think it's a fantastic bar to come to for craft cocktails! [To clarify, I don't have any affiliation with the place or know any of the staff now, so when I come in these days, I'm just another customer] I'm writing this review having just visited for the first time since the pandemic last month, and the quality is still top notch both in terms of the drinks and the service. The drink menu is just as extensive as I remembered and all of my favorites are still on it - Rosemary's Chances, The Haymaker's Punch, Thyme After Thyme, and Hi Falutin (plus a stellar martini)! If you've never tried a cocktail with a shaken egg white in it but are curious, this is the place to go! The bartenders are very skilled and incredibly knowledgeable, especially when it comes to old-school classic cocktails - think Sazerac, vieux carré, Ramos gin Fizz, etc (FYI none of those are on the menu, but I've found that they'll make it if you ask nicely) It's not exactly cheap at ~ $14 a drink, but here they're so good that it's actually worth the price, which is not something I can say for many other bars that charge the same!
google avatar

Victoria C.

Yelp
Good drinks and friendly bartenders. Told him to whip up some drinks for my boyfriend and me - "refreshing" and "sour". Got a cucumber and mint cocktail, and a blueberry cocktail. Pretty good. Hip looking spot. About $13 per drink. The food menu was small. Nothing sparked my interest. I wouldn't come here for food. Not sure if they have specials. Not the cheapest spot to go for neverending cocktails.

Yelp
Came here for an after work event. The bar is nice. It has a nice vintage feel to it. They have food at this bar. We ordered a smoking of everything. Grilled chicken bites, mini grilled cheese with tomato soup, spicy deviled eggs, mini pork tacos, figs wrapped in prosciutto, spicy bean dip with chips. It was a lot of food and all of it was pretty tasty. A nice spot to visit really really close to the Brooklyn Museum.
google avatar

Yelp
I tried Rosemary's chance which is a gin cocktail with egg whites. It was delicious! I asked if there were any other cocktails with egg whites and the waitress/bartender looked up a recipe book. They found a recipe and made it for me. While it was pretty good, it was no where near as good as the Rosemary's chance that was on the menu. So, I would say stick to the menu cocktails that they offer if you can. They have so many pages to the cocktail menu there is a great deal of options. There is a lovely large outdoor space here which would be great in warm weather. I love the ambiance here. It is great for date night or an intimate night out with friends. I saw that there were small bites and they looked delicious. I would love to come back and try them.

Yelp
So as many other reviewers have stated, there's a strong "No Yelping" policy here. My first instinct was: First rule of Fight Club. But I quickly got over that and don't really care because yelping is what helps bring in business (sorry not sorry Tooker). That nonsense aside: I absolutely loved the place. The drinks are decadent, the food is more like tapas but delicious (I ordered 1/3 of the menu because it all looked amazing.) If you're in the area you should give it a try. *Fun side note: the menu (which is book-like in nature) has some really fun awesome facts. If you've got the chance give it a read.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on Sunday afternoon with a few friends after brunch. Not many people were there at the time. This bar is all about the craft cocktail. They give you a book, literally a book that contains their cocktails. Complicated stuff; ingredients that I've never even heard of. So I, just like everyone at the table we just went with our best judgement and chose a drink. Honestly no one really knew what the heck they were ordering but everyone really liked their drink. The waitress was really nice and even brought over a round of shots. One thing, in the back of their menu book were blank pages that said, Don't Yelp Me Bro leave your comments here. LOL! Nope, I'll be yelping.

Yelp
Tooker Alley is the kind of place I was fully prepared to dislike before entering - it seems like such a particular (and at this point overdone) concept to me... I was already rolling my eyes wondering how long the bartenders' beards would be and how many tweezers and eyedroppers would be employed to finish my drink. But it's truly a fine, sincere, welcoming establishment. Just a place deadly serious about crafting serious cocktails. Our bartender, Benjamin, was quite the artisan. The staff is quiet and serious about their work, but ultimately very friendly and interesting. (We were even invited to share in a shot of high-end rum when we closed the joint with them.) I particularly appreciate the seasonal section of the menu - they seem to really make an effort to incorporate seasonal ingredients into their cocktails. The current spring seasonal section includes an outstanding Gin cocktail with Rhubarb syrup and a Bourbon cocktail with Peach. On the standard cocktail menu, the Old Fashioned is a particular standout - I daresay it would make Don Draper smile. Well, at least Roger Sterling. I can more-or-less see Tooker Alley from my front window, so I'm glad I enjoy it so. And it's a good thing it's so close... those are some potent potables. You don't want to plan to have too far to walk if you've imbibed more than a couple here. It's a bit too pricey (and perhaps a wee bit too staid) to really make it my "regular," but it's a fine place to have right in your back pocket when your taste buds demand something special, and your own mediocre cocktail skills won't quite do.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Myself and three other regular patrons recently decided to stop going after 3 years. Not because it isn't a great place - the decor, mood, and drinks are great - but because of a member of the staff. Each time we've gone there's always been an issue with them and their rudeness and attitude problem. The straw that broke the camels back was this time we basically had to leave after being told we couldn't even stand at the bar to get a drink (there were no seats anywhere) so we left and about a block away attitude employee came running after us just to shame us for not staying...after basically being told to leave by that very same employee. They were literally screaming at the top of their lungs at us and even took a few uncalled for jabs. Not a good way to treat a customer, especially four that have been there so much and supported the business over the years. Sucks that we'll miss Jazz Mondays, but it's not worth dealing with this employee anymore.

Yelp
Me likey. I stopped by after a museum visit with weary feet and a slight alcohol problem that had me anticipating a sweet seat at a bar post picture looking. A short walk away from the Brooklyn Museum will transport you to time when ladies were dames and guys were gents or fellas. Or something else that they would refer to the opposite gender in the movie and play "Chicago." Samesies for the music in terms of era. There's sax in the music here. I ordered Rosemary's Chances. A gin-based cocktail topped with a velvety egg white foam that brings the buzz and delivers on the rosemary flavor without being overwhelming. Conversations can be overhead but the noise level doesn't get obnoxious. It's perfect for a date, catching up with friends, or resting weary feet like I'm doing tonight. These cool vibes can easily be translated to Williamsburg-chic. Don't tell anyone, I guess. It stays intimate despite a creative cocktail menu that promises to never get too serious. This place is laid back with no pretense. The jazz helps. So do the bartenders. Both were friendly and considerate of me being on my phone instead of signing my check. PS. My check came to $14 and change and there was no mention of the $15 credit card minimum. Maybe it's my leather jacket that has me feeling tough and people obliging. Or maybe. This is a cool place I'll be visiting post pictures again.

Yelp
Haven't encountered a cocktail here I didn't love... but especially love the off-menu dirty martini!!
google avatar

Suzie R.

Yelp
I threw a last minute birthday party here and the establishment was so friendly, accommodating, and understanding (I was running late and I brought in my own cake) The music was great, and the crowd and band were really into it. Hillary our incredible server recommended a crafted gin drink that I loved, but I'm pretty sure everything on the menu is fabulous. Best of all, no one was snarky or pretentious and the place isn't completely overpriced yet. Thank you! I couldn't of asked for a better birthday! I am not a Russian troll or a paid reviewer. I am a cranky New Yorker who normally is jaded by everything but just so happened to have a nice birthday :)

Yelp
My absolute favorite spot in the neighborhood. The cocktails are incredible. They are pricey but worth every cent. The cocktail menu is a binder of the best stuff you'll read that day. Each drink has a story that goes with it, so you feel like you're partaking in an experience -- not just quaffing down a glass full of liquor. Great music and crowd, friendly, accessible. Fantastic spot for a date, cozy and intimate and plenty of stuff to talk about to avoid those weird awkward silences.
google avatar

Rachel Z.

Yelp
If you are on a date, this is a cute spot to check it out. They have an indoor area and also an outdoor area. We sat inside, there's a good distance between each table so you can have privacy when you have a conversation with your companion. The cocktail is just ok for me. I just really like the atmosphere there.
google avatar

Susan D.

Yelp
I have to say when Tooker first opened I wasn't that impressed but it is fair to say at this point that they've totally hit their stride. The drink program is quite impressive. I'm particularly a fan of their gin cocktails which strike the right balance between good cocktail culture without taking themselves too seriously. Also, if you love sorrel like I do, definitely give the Crown Heights Negroni a swirl. The staff is knowledgable and kind, neither hovering nor ignoring. Plus, drinking outside is always a lovely end to a long day and their backyard fits the bill. In addition, if you're waiting for your friend who is always late, like I am right now, the menu book is an entertaining way to pass the now going on 20 minutes, ahem. Enjoy!

Cherrilyn B.

Yelp
Love the vibes- came on a Saturday night and the place was very well lit. The downfall is that my friend and I paid $50 total (including tax and tip) for 2 drinks ($13 each) and 2 very small appetizers. Very cute spot but not suitable if you're hungry!
google avatar

renje g.

Yelp
- The Saturday (and Tuesday) bartender, Leah, is a magician behind the bar - Great drinks all around - They've got something for everybody's taste - there's no best drink, we all ordered 6 different drinks, and they all were delicious - Enjoy the artwork in your menus, while you wait

Yelp
Aside from the snarky "Don't Yelp me bro" warning in the menu, there's a lot to like about Tooker Alley. There's a wide range of really well thought-out cocktails, from variations on familiar ones (my fiancee swears by the almond-heavy old-fashioned, which comes with a little piece of almond brittle), seasonal choices (hot drinks are the trend at the moment), and interesting new creations that play well with vinegar, infused syrups, and herbs like thyme. My favorite is probably the Haymakers Punch--if you like bourbon and ginger (if you don't, you should), it's a delicious variation on the usual. If you're not a liquor-drinker, there's actually a pretty decent beer selection as well, including a few draft choices. The staff is very friendly and helpful with selections. If you're showing up with a group, they greatly appreciate a call ahead, and can reserve a larger table for you. The bar snacks are quite tasty as well, especially the spicy deviled eggs and the three-bean dip (the latter is pretty simplistic for the price, given that it's basically beans, onions, and Tostito scoops, but it's still about the healthiest-but-delicious bar food I've ever had). The space is dark, maybe a little bit too dark, but it would work well as a classy date spot in the evening. During the warmer months, there's a decent backyard, which makes up for its lack of adornment with capacity. Really solid cocktail bar.

Yelp
When your bartender is amazing! Saw a bottle of pimms and he knew exactly what to do with it! Def stop by this gem, sit at the bar and watch Ty work his magic!

Yelp
Amazing cocktails and great ambiance. I did not order the food but the grilled cheese with tomato soup looked delicious. We had the Woody Guthrie and it was tasty with handmade ginger candy as a garnish.

Yelp
This is a nice place to sit outside and have a great cocktail. The drink menu is extensive but everything is well categorized and has detailed descriptions. The servers were also very friendly and engaging and did a good job of recommending drinks when I was ensure. I don't know how I live so close by and had not come here before. I will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Sweat set up and great drinks. Their menu is humorous which is a good talking plus. Industrial feel with metal tables, and nice out door. Stumbled walking in the area and it's worth the trek. Small menus bites.
google avatar

Teagan R.

Yelp
Lovely cocktail bar in Crown Heights / Prospect Heights! They have live music from time to time but even without, it's a great place to sit back, people watch and have a great drink. It has a speakeasy vibe without being hard to get into. I really enjoyed their drink that had shaved ice - it was perfect for summer and super tasty! Thankfully because it was Brooklyn, the drink wasn't a million dollars either!

Yelp
I came here with a couple of friends after First Saturdays at the museum. It's a cute place with really good cocktails. More of a date spot than a hang-out bar, though they have tables to accommodate 4 or 5 people. My main complaint is that they don't customize orders. There were several gin-based cocktails that I thought looked good, but I don't like gin. Ultimately, I asked for the Peach Bourbon Bell with spicy honey syrup added, and was told that they don't change their house cocktails. I got the drink anyway, and it was very good, but would have been much better with the spicy honey syrup. Service was okay, not exceptional. I think this is a nice spot and would be open to coming back again.

Yelp
Terrible, just terrible. I ordered a plain grilled cheese, instead of the meat version, because I'm vegetarian. I was told taking off the extras would cost an extra 0.50 okay.... waited around 20 minutes and my sandwich was delivered to the wrong table. Okay, I was still trying to be understanding. another 20 minutes go by and the bartender says oh sorry I forgot to re- order your grilled cheese. Do you still want it? Um yeah I was hungry 40 minutes ago and now i'm still hungry. strike one. Now, on our second round of drinks, my friend and i asked to move outside. It happened to be a goregous sunny Easter Sunday - was raining earlier- but the sun came out, so we decided to move our cocktails to the backyard. There were around 8+ tables outside and a total of 3 people. So 6+ empty tables tables. Since it was dead and most of the tables were soaking wet, my friend and i "sprawled" out at 4 top, saying we'd be happy to move if it unexpectedly became busy and the table was needed for a group. The bartender became infuriated, and told us to leave. Neither my friend nor i have ever been kicked out of a bar. And over what? over moving to an empty outdoor space to escape the screaming babies in the bar? What a disaster. Ain't never going back. Strike two, three and more.

Yelp
Comfy bar with sexy drinks and live music sometimes. I came on a Monday, when they had an awesome jazz band playing. Service was good. Cool selection of crafted cocktails around the $10 and higher range. Flavor matches were great and everything was mixed well. Dimly lit, so nice choice for a romantic but still kind of casual night out. Small but room to walk even when kind of crowded. Tad pricey, but nice ambience and great vibes.

Yelp
I like to think I'm a great customer. I'm friendly; I make jokes that range anywhere from mildly annoying to mildly annoying; I tip really well; I listen to the staff when they tell me things... If they prefer I pay in cash, I can usually oblige. If they are closing up, I'll settle up and get out. If they think my friends are idiots, I agree wholeheartedly. But I'm about to disregard Tooker Alley's request in their menu that reads: "Don't Yelp me, bro." Because I suppose that's what I'm doing right now. Tooker Alley is a solid little cocktail bar. They have many, many drinks in their cutesy little menu (as well as space for notes, pictures, and even toasts), and they know how to make most of them quite well. I found their Old Fashioned to be quite drinkable, and the Thyme After Thyme also hit the spot briefly (I always return to the brown spirits eventually). Personally, I would stick to drinks, as the food left a lot to be desired, but it's not a bad place to drown some sorrows.

Yelp
Most excellent of a bar. Feels very Brooklyn and the staff are outstanding. It's a great place to sit at the bar and learn about cocktails. We went after a day at the Brooklyn Museum and it was a perfect finish to a day of art. Highly recommended.

Yelp
..."through the hole in the wall, down Tooker Alley"... No sign outside, a nod to times past at it's best. "Step High, Stoop Low, Leave Your Dignity Outside" - menu cover says. I am loving it already. Interior is simple chic, dimly lit just enough to make it comfortable for casual drinks or for a date. It is very spacious, and intimate at same time, there is long table and bar area if you are with big group, and small tables for cosy dates. It was not very crowded on weekday, either. Menu design once again reflects the spirit of Tooker Alley, simple, turn of the century feel, and very extensive. With good sense of humor, you can draw/write on last page, that proclaims "don't yelp me bro". (evil grin) After fussing over menu for a while, I settled on Haymaker's Punch. Loved it! There are so many good cocktails to try, tho, there is favorite for everyone. We also had some bites - brisket biscuits were pretty good, so were prosciutto-wrapped dates. I was a bit disappointed in ceviche being served with saltines, since marinade kept dripping thru the holes, not easy to share. But overall, pretty good snacks to go with awesome drinks. Props to our waitress for remembering each person order for our large party and splitting bills just like we requested, without mixing them up! Oh, yes, thumbs up for Tooker Alley!

Yelp
They have a backyard now! However, you can't smoke in it for some reason. Their menu is a book of cocktails with great illustrations and basically stories written about each drink. I only stayed for one drink just to check out the space. There's a mish-mash of different chairs in the back, most of which look like they're from the 70s and 80s. Also some picnic tables. The drink I had was the Thyme After Thyme (After Thyme). Super tasty if you're into thyme. I need to stop saying thyme. Anyway, go here for a good thyme! Sorry.

Yelp
So I came back here with a large crew of people, looking to get a different vibe. It was a Tuesday night and the place was packed. Ingredients for a good weekday night. However they were understaffed. The service was fine, for the amount of people they had. They were polite, friendly and as attentive as they could be but they were understaffed, not being able to satisfy everyone. I still felt the cocktail list was limited and didn't have diverse options that some of the other cocktail bars have. Just a note, pay as you go. They charge tax for your cocktails unless you do.

Yelp
Kudos to the owners! Whoever put this idea together, I love the ambience, the music, the lights on the walls, the menu- the drink menu+ the food menu (with the Latino chef , super cool) Excellent! Just the kind of bar you want to go to have a delicious drink and a bite to eat. Gracias!
