Honest tourist review:
The intro: We went with a group on a Friday which we knew was a premium night and what we were in for. We had been to the venue years ago and were excited to revisit the experience. We found that the bottle service that used to be $200 is now $650 (Covid, inflation, price of life, we get it, it’s ok). We were upgraded to upstairs which normally is reserved for the “money doesn’t exist for me anymore” crowd. On sit down we were mobbed with attention from staff/dancers that were trying to sell back room experiences and everything was within expectations. The venue is an Ex-Costco and enormous with many staff.
The mid game: The on site in booth massages were excellent and paid per song. After the initial push, the attention dried up fast as the dancers moved on to new groups at new tables (also within expectations.) What was disappointing, was even on a premium night the stage shows were very lacklustre and had a surprising lack of nudity. Being bare topped seemed to be optional and by the discretion of the dancer. There was significantly more nudity from the dancers milling about than on the main or VIP stages. We asked some staff and they mentioned that these days, stage efforts don’t really start until 2 AM. We were promised a bottle of Tito’s on entry which showed up as a bottle of “Grey Goose.” I became suspicious of the bottle and could smell the water in it. When we playfully joked with the host she had a very well scripted answer on how the bottles are sealed until the table and are legit. Unfortunately, I am a logical human and have a narrow esophagus which makes doing straight alcohol shots almost impossible without gagging. I proved to my group that something was fishy by grabbing the bottle and taking 4 deep drinks directly from it (half of this amount would have made me puke instantly on the table if it was straight alcohol regardless of how sober I was).
The late game: Around 3 AM the “gangsters” began to show up and assert that anyone not them is insignificant and in the way. We were kinda bullied off our table but the atmosphere change was already enough for us to call it a night. Disappointing after the amount we had spent by this point. A bit of a buzz kill and solid indication the we were now in the presence of low level organized crime. Other attendees are not a reflection of the staff or venue, it was just a bit of a bummer.
The impression: I was really surprised by the lack of nudity and actual dancing for the venue (especially in the upstairs VIP lounge). Even on main stage, becoming topless seemed to be optional and at the discretion of the dancer. The stage shows consisted of basically standing by the pole until their song was over and leaving while not removing any clothing. While there are the largest amount of dancers circulating, the venue seems to have changed from a “dance viewing” to an “aggressively sell a back room” experience.
Overall I would give 2026 Tootsies a 6 out of 10. If you have not been, it is the largest venue I have ever seen with an impressive number of staff and dancers. But for the price, lack of nudity and stage shows, I will be looking for a different venue next time. And if I return with a group for a bottle service experience, I will be sticking to the “mini-vip” experience downstairs even if offered a free upgrade to upstairs.
