"Plain and simple, Top Baguette makes our favorite banh mi in Little Saigon. The tiny, order-at-the-counter shop isn’t doing anything extreme with their sandwiches, they’re just doing them extremely well. That means fresh toppings that perfectly pair with whichever protein you choose, plus crunchy French baguettes we wish we could take home in bulk. Our move is always the BBQ beef with lemongrass, but if you’re looking to change it up, try the tuna as well. Just make sure you add a fried egg on top." - Brant Cox

One of my favorite Banh Mi spots in Westminster. Easy parking, not a crowded lot. Restaurant is pushed in the corner but don’t let it fool you. The food is well worth it! Family owned. You can tell the bread is baked fresh daily. The BBQ beef and lemon grass is solid every time. They take card and cash. Cash is obliviously preferred. Worth a stop in if you’re in the area.

I prefer Carrot & Daikon (sister store?). However, Fri 18 Aug at 12:10 pm for Top Baguette: it was easy parking, only $2 can Monster, and banh mi is fine. They offered to cut the sandwiches in 1/2, so my sister and I split the Dac Biet and the Pork Belly. My sister said the banh mi didn't stand out. I would have to agree. But I'll come back for the $2 Monster and try other items.

First time coming to this place. Ordered the rotisserie chicken bahn mi and added their combo, which included 4 egg rolls, 1 pate chaud and a soda. Total was $7.50. Super reasonably price. The owner was very friendly and nice. The egg roll was very flavorful so was their sandwich. They don’t skimp out on the meat. The pate chaud(first time having thing ever) was soft and flaky.

Google
This place has fresh delicious banh mi for a reasonable price. We also tried their vegetarian and chicken eggrolls, and pate pastry. All were extremely delicious, especially toasted. I’ll be there next week to try their spring rolls.

Located in a small plaza by the corner of Magnolia and Bolsa Ave. Parking is a pain. Lol. You are lucky if you can find one. Inside store looks modern and clean. I ordered 2 type of sandwiches: a grilled beef, a grilled chicken and some Pate Chaud (puffy pastry pork and chicken). Love its grilled beef sandwich, very tasty. The aroma and the taste of lemongrass is just heavenly good. Baguette was crispy. Beef was tendered and juicy. While I like the beef sandwich, however, not so much on chicken sandwich. Although it was tendered and juicy as well, but no taste compared to the beef. Will skip this next time. All trimmings such as slices cucumber, carrot and daikon pickles, slice jalapeños and cilantro were fresh. Pate Chaud was good. Very tasty on both chicken and pork. Service was friendly.

Google
My favorite Vietmames Banh Mi place. I only wish they had a location in Irvine. This establishment has the best quality ingredients and their own yummy twist to Traditional đặc biệt (#1) sandwhich all for a great price! Clean restaurant and friendly staff makes it welcoming. My only complaint is parking can be in pain in the butt, I would recommend calling in your order before during peak times.

Google
My go-to banh mi spot! I drive 15 miles to go here and it is worth every mile. The way they make their sandwiches reminds me of the kind I grew up with. I don’t eat pork so the beef and sardine are my favorite sandwiches. I recommend getting the fried egg on the beef banh mi. The bread is made in house, is crispy and soft at the same time. I especially love how clean the place is and how they prepare the sandwiches. They don’t mix utensils and always change gloves each time. The people are also friendly. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Google
Whenever I'm in town I have to stop here! the Banh Mi sandwiches are great and you can not beat the price! They last for quite awhile if you are not looking to eat them right away. I have even brought some back to Utah and they were great! I love the BBQ Pork with egg. These are even great for breakfast! You can not go wrong here!

Denise L.

Yelp
The banh mi is perfect!!! Everything is appropriately priced and for the amount of food you get.

Yun Ping C.

Yelp
My friend took me here for a quick brunch since he said he really enjoyed the banh mi here and it was a chain. Ive never been to any of the locations and I'm no expert, but I really enjoyed it! I typically get the chicken banh mi wherever I go and this one was pretty good. It was just the grilled chicken banh mi. He had mentioned it wasn't as dry as most banh MI places and I agree. The chicken was also tender and had great flavor. I ate half and saved the rest for later. My friend got the lemongrass beef and finished all of it. Service was quick and efficient. We tried to get the pastries from the oven, but some were completely sold out already - someone had pre-ordered- so they must be busy! I forgot which ones we got but it was also pretty tasty. Ambience was very Mom and pop. As we were waiting for our sandwiches to be ready, the line got pretty long! No pictures unfortunately, but this is a banh mi chain I would definitely revisit! Delicious :)

Yelp
Excellent sandwiches! We tried the egg and spam cuz we missed eggs for breakfast, and the crispy pork Banh mi. Blown away by the quality and flavor! Crispy pork was generous and very crispy and savory! Bread was solid, tender inside crispy outside. Filed with spread, sauce and daikon, jalapeño, maybe some Cucumber and fresh cilantro. We'll definitely be back for more! Best Banh mi I've had in a while!

Louis L.

Yelp
We decided to get a couple of Banh Mi from this establishment. Went with a grilled pork followed by a crispy skin pork, with everything in it. The bread was tasty. I was hoping they'd sell plain baguettes, but noticed that they don't. .. bummer. Will definitely try their other selections.

Mike H.

Yelp
Great one stop shop for awesome Banh Mi, Dessert and Vietnamese Coffee. We always stop by here when we are around the OC, and make sure to get the pork belly Banh Mi. Pretty much all the selections are great here and best of all the prices are legit and they come out quick! Can't wait to come back here again!

Joy C.

Yelp
Carrot & Daikon is simply superior to other banh mi places. Their crispy pork belly banh mi is the best compared to others. They're well seasoned, not too fatty, and above all, remains crispy. The parking lot can fill up pretty fast on weekends but people are usually coming and going all the time.

Phil Y.

Yelp
I like this newer Carrot & Daikon location. I actually was able to go inside, not like the original Taco Bell location where I have to order and receive my food outside. Service has been very good every time I've shown up. The guy is friendly and is willing to give suggestions. The banh mi's seem to be better than the ones at their original location. How much better than the good banh mi's at the original location? The ones here seem to have more meat, more pate, and just enough veggies. It's just better for me. It's a good place. I like it. I just wished they were closer to where I am, or where I'm going.

Alicia N.

Yelp
I always have a positive experience at this location. The workers are quick, friendly, and patient. One time, shortly after the pandemic, a customer was yelling at the workers over a price raise on the egg rolls, which I always get, and they were still respectful towards him even though the workers there don't control the pricing. Honestly, I think their prices are fair. The sandwiches are $7-9 each. The shop is small and clean with limited tables. However, most people just get takeout.

Nancy Q.

Yelp
Every ingredient is so delicious and in harmony with everything else. The bread is soft on the inside with a crisp on the outside. We got #1 (special). The cha is nice and peppery. There's a generous serving of pork belly. Deliciously spiced Pate and creamy mayo. The veggies were fresh too. Service is quick and friendly. The price is so good for such a well made sandwich that's a big portion. The store is casual with tables for dine in. Many will get takeout.

Angela N.

Yelp
I've heard nothing but good things about this chain. We were in the area and wanted to give it a try for ourselves. When you walk in there are prepared snacks lining the right wall and the cashier on the left. We ordered the Banh Mi Dac Biet. Currently waiting for our order due to a 20 min wait.. hopefully it's worth it. Update- it was not worth it. Not only did we wait 30 mins for the bread to finish baking.. when I received the banh mi it was cold. I thought that's odd.. but maybe they cooled it down so I don't burn myself. When I tell you this thing was the hardest piece of bread I have ever bitten into.. it might as well have been a cinder block crumbling all over myself and car. Unfortunately, the inwards were no better; Bland and flavorless. Never again. I'll wait to go to Xpresso urban cafe in corona!

Lili K.

Yelp
I've been here several times, and like getting the lemongrass beef and vegetarian banh mi! The bread itself is nice and soft, and of course, I love the carrots and daikon (and jalapeños!)

Sophie T.

Yelp
My husband and I were looking for a quick bite when we discovered Carrot & Daikon--and we're so glad we did! We ordered #1 The Classic and #7 Pha Lau Sate (Pork Offal Stewed with Five Spices). Our food arrived quickly, and the banh mis were impressively large and generously filled. The Classic was hands down one of the best cold cut banh mis I've ever had. The baguette was perfectly crisp without being too hard, and the pâté was rich and flavorful. The Pork Offal was also delicious, but I found myself leaning more toward The Classic. Overall, a satisfying dinner at a great price. We'll definitely be coming back!

Ray R.

Yelp
Great bahn mi place. Always on point. Fave is the crispy pork bahn mi. Service is great as well.

KC U.

Yelp
Fast and friendly service. Food is delicious. Location has more seating. Has selections on the counters for ready access of desserts. Check this place out if you want crispy pork banh mi's or crispy pork spring rolls. Treat yourself for a finger foods. Check out my pics. Will definitely come back here instead of the other place in Garden Grove area. It's closer to where I was staying at.

Emily H.

Yelp
I had to try what was dubbed "OC's best banh mi" on various internet posts. I am usually a THH loyalist as it is close to my house, but I need to give Carrot and Daikon its well-deserved flowers. The baguettes are large, soft, and crunchy. The meats are savory and addicting. The pickled vegetables offer the perfect refreshing note. I highly recommend the #6 (Crispy Pork Belly) and the #14 (Lemongrass Beef). I gave the #15 (Lomo Saltado) a try as well, but I think the former options are tastier. #15 could use a little more sauce, it was a little drier than the others. Anyways, highly recommend. These sandwiches will fill you up quickly.

Hayley T.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch on a Saturday, and even though it was fairly busy, we got our food surprisingly fast. A lot of people got their food togo, but there are several tables inside for you to eat at. We ordered the Classic and the Crispy Pork Belly bánh mì, along with the pork egg rolls, shrimp & crab egg rolls, and the kumquat sugarcane juice. The bánh mì was fantastic! I really appreciated how the baguette had the perfect crunch without being too hard--it didn't cut the roof of my mouth like some do. But the real standout? The egg rolls! They use a unique rice noodle wrapper that makes them extra crispy and flavorful--honestly, some of the best I've ever had. The kumquat sugarcane juice was refreshing and complemented the meal perfectly. Overall, everything was delicious, and I'll definitely be coming back!

Liliana C.

Yelp
Had a misunderstanding at a different location but a nice young lady here helped straighten things up and made our experience a great one here. On a different note, I love their banh mi, the bread is fresh and not overly crispy that it would stab you in the cheeks, which is a plus. Love that they stuff it with plenty of pickled radish and carrots too. Prices are super affordable and service is quick and friendly. Would definitely come back to this location!

Brian W.

Yelp
Carrot and Daikon is a popular Banh Mi (Vietnamese Sandwich) chain here in Southern California. Even in a saturated banh mi market, Carrot and Daikon still stands out for its quality, consistency, and creativity. The flavors are very solid, and they have fast and friendly service. It does get a little busy, but it usually goes pretty fast. Overall, a very solid Banh Mi spot to hit any craving!

Brian T.

Yelp
Delicious banh mi! They load the pate and sauce in the sandwich. Good amount of meat and a good ratio. Would prefer the bread to be a bit more crisp. Came here on a Sunday morning and ordered online. Checked in with cashier about online order and made the order then. Not much of a line and they have a parking lot. They have about 5 tables inside with other side dishes on display for sale. The crispy pork belly was great! Crispy skin and tender meat.

Madelaine A.

Yelp
My favorite banh mi place! It's so fresh and delicious. The menu has all different kinds and don't forget the sides. The spring rolls & sesame balls!! The kumquat sugar cane drink is flavorful too!

Julius S.

Yelp
One of my favorite bahn mi sandwiches out there. It goes without being said, but the quality and service at Carrot & Dikon is top of the line. The baguette alone is on another level. Absolutely delicious. Its crispy and buttery flavor profile blends so well with the ingredients. I've tried the crispy pork belly and the beef lemon grass. The crispness of the pork skin followed by the tenderness of the beef flavors; dynamic duo. Highly recommend trying each sandwich. Service and staff were kind as well. The environment was inviting, I can see why their loyal patrons keep coming back for more. This place is a must try for authentic Vietnamese flavors. Try it out!

Yelp
ORDERED: grilled chicken bahn mi ~ SUPER YUM and is a bang for your buck! ~ bread is a big piece and it is FULLYY filled so that each bite has equally pieces of chicken and veggies i've been wanting to try this place since moving to oc and it's been on my OC try list and it definitely did not disappoint and i WILL be coming back

Diana T.

Yelp
Food: 4/5 There's a variety of Banh mi sandwiches to choose from - pork belly is one of their most popular item with crispy pork skin and melt in your mouth fatty meat to the classic pork loaf deli. Their banh mi has the perfect crunchy exterior and soft interior and each sandwich is paired perfectly with their pickled radish. Service: 4/5 You can order your sandwich from the little windows and they also provide the orders there or they also have a drive thru option where you can order from your car. I believe there's a small indoor section, but it was closed off when we were there. The cashier was a little slow to respond to our need but everything was straight forward. Ambiance: There's a little outdoor seating area to feast on, but everyone purchases the banh mi and leaves.

Betty G.

Yelp
I finally found this place to really try it out. I guess I had high expectation for it since it was really good the first time my cousin got them for us/our group. I got the eggs & spam banh mi. I was disappointed. It was just okay. Very little pate. The first time I had it, it was full of pate & pork floss. Today, the banh mi had very little of protein. Spam was very thinly sliced and the egg wasn't filled all the way through the length of the banh mi. It is definitely better than their Newland location though. And they give you a bigger banh mi also. They are known for their crispy pork belly banh mi but I do not like pork belly since it is full of fat. If you like pork belly, maybe to give them a try? Ah well, back to your my original place again and continue my search for a better banh mi place.

Vivian D.

Yelp
Good place to get breakfast! Delicious pork belly sandwich, lots of veggies and meat' out go to place for a full meal:

Cheryl N.

Yelp
I would have rated 5 stars had I reviewed it last week but I waited till I tried a 2nd time. My husband ordered the usual crispy pork n he also wanted to try the pha lau. It turned out to be a disaster, he ditched his 1/2 I forced myself to eat a little bit. The 2 stars reflected how bad the pha lau was, it was very salty n the thick dark color sauce poured over the intestine made it look unappetizing. The crispy pork was amazing last time but today either it was an accident they poured the same thick horrible sauce fr the pha lau over the heo quay or this is the way they do it going forward, bro don't do it the crispy pork should be left alone w a little soy sauce or it should be better w Maggi sauce NOT THE WEIRD TASTING brown SAUCE. My late mom told me daily not to waste food as African kids are starving so I forced myself to eat 1/2 a sandwich n was very upset afterwards. I'll give it 1 more chance n if they still do this sauce I'll be done for good. I also ordered the Bo kho but it was so oily I put it in the freezer to get all the fat out n eat it for breakfast , if it's good I'll up rate it to 3 stars.

Misa D.

Yelp
I came here because and really like the place. Food is good and tasty. I would come back to visit this place again whenever I'm in the area because the service is always good and my bánh mì is delicious. Highly recommend!

Jon Y.

Yelp
THE GIFT THAT KEEPS GIVING!! Love this place and their banh mi!! The staff here is always so friendly and great with service. Very clean restaurant where you can stay and enjoy your food!

Majella L.

Yelp
Tasty Banh Mi sandwiches! We had the pork belly and the lomo saltado. So good. They were very similar to their sister drive thru location. Except this location had ample parking and no long lines. There's also plenty of seating inside but sadly no public restrooms. Service was friendly and quick.

Michael K.

Yelp
The banh mi dac biet today 3/23/25 gave us an upset stomach and it may have been some bad pate or meat. I guess we can't get Carrot & Daikon anymore!

Alex N.

Yelp
The food to price ratio of the banh mi sandwiches here are pretty good. Other places seem to be getting more expensive or serving smaller baguettes, but the ones here are decent sized and filled with their corresponding meats. The thit nuong was very flavorful with their spread and pickled carrots and daikon. The heo quay also lives true to its name and adds great texture to each bite. Overall, great place to stop by for some quick banh mi.

Jeannie K.

Yelp
Have always wanted to try this place since I love banh mi's and finally got to try this place. Went during off hours at 3:30 on a Tues so wasn't packed. It's in a small plaza but can see parking issues on the weekends since it's on a very busy intersection. There's some tables inside so can eat there. I ordered 3 banh mi's - the grilled pork, fried egg, and crispy skin pork belly. Everyone loved the sandwiches. The bread was fluffy and crispy with lots of meat inside. I had the crispy skin pork belly and it was so good!! Had good seasoning and the skin was to die for!! So good!! I also ordered the pandan coffee. It was strong and not too sweet. I will def be coming back again.

Kristina C.

Yelp
I saw really good ratings on this place and had to stop by! I'm giving this place a 3/5 because honestly I'm not a huge fan of the deli-meat that they used. The outlined red-meat tasted really rubbery and I thought there wasn't much flavor in the Banh Mi. However, I was a HUGE fan of their drinks. The coffee had a very interesting robust flavor and the kumquat sugar cane juice was perfectly sweetened and refreshing. I think I'd come back for the drinks, but not for the banh mi.

Derek F.

Yelp
We were on the hunt for a Banh Mi today and stumbled across Carrot & Daikon, sure glad we did. The parking lot was full, as was the drive-thru. I was wondering... can this be THAT good? Well, I think yes, it can. We ordered the #6 crispy pork belly banh mi, the #7 grilled pork banh mi, and an order of the crispy pork belly spring rolls. I absolutely loved the grilled pork and my wife enjoyed the pork belly (wouldn't share it was so good). These are good size, tasty sandwiches. I highly recommend a visit.

Thuy N.

Yelp
This is my go-to spot for a Banh Mi in Orange County. I heard that they have other locations in Vegas and Corona now. Congratulations! Their sandwiches are always loaded, and their fresh pressed sugarcane juice is always a hit. If you want some caffeine, you should try their Vietnamese coffee. They have their classic and the new bac xui coffee. If you like something crispy, try the crispy pork belly banh mi. They have different protein options like pork, beef, chicken, cold cuts, fish and egg.

Will T.

Yelp
Friendly staff, good banh mi ( we loved the crispy pork belly banh mi! The egg roll is really good to, full of flavor you dont need fish sauce. Did i meation how friendly the staff was?!

Joanne C.

Yelp
I used to think that nothing can't beat my good ol' Huong Lan Sandwich shop from the Bay Area.... Until I tried this place. This Banh mi place puts all other Banh mi shops to shame. We ordered away from our usuals... got a pha lau banh mi and I'm seriously so surprised at how well it came together. Chefs kiss, and highly recommended.

Jeanie N.

Yelp
I'd say this location is not as good as the original. My sister got the classic banh mi heo quay and declared it was good, but the other location is better. I got the veggie banh mi with mien and I have to say noodles don't really belong in a sandwich. That being said, the bread here is REALLY GOOD. I checked in and got a free jasmine milk tea, which was so strong in jasmine flavor that I suspect they use artifical flavorings. They forgot to include it in my order, but assembled it quickly once I reminded them. There are plenty of tables to sit and eat, though the outlets don't work.

Jeiny R.

Yelp
Best Banh Mi in OC! The pork belly is nice and crispy. The bread is delicious. Service is fast.

Joseph N.

Yelp
Guys I've been eating Banh Mi Che Cali my whole life and boy have I been missing out! This place CLEARS all the Banh Mi I've had in a while. I ordered the crispy pork Banh Mi and it was so good! The meat itself was very tender and when you get into the crispy skin, it adds the perfect crunch to make it the perfect bite. You would think that eating pork belly would make you feel bloated but the veggies compliment the pork belly very well. They ran out of cilantro when I came but I'll be back haha. Service was quick and easy and they do provide a few tables inside if you plan on sitting down. I would recommend getting the pork belly every time! PRO TIP: Check in and get a Free Milk Tea or Flavored Tea! I got the Milk Tea and it was solid!

Juliet S.

Yelp
Oh man if I lived closer to this spot I would be here once a week. My friend who's Vietnamese recommended we have lunch here because I told her I wanted a Banh mi. Wow for the price and the size it's such a good deal that's hard to find. It was super busy during lunch but they were knocking out those banh mis so fast. I got the crispy pork belly and I was so happy with my selection. And yes it was actually crispy! Then I couldn't help but order a lemongrass beef to go and that one was also amazing. I'm already thinking of when I can come back. Just fyi parking can be a lil crazy during the lunch rush. Highly recommend this spot.

Shaun V.

Yelp
Try the Classic (banh mi dat biet) and crispy pork belly (heo quay). These two are probably the two most common sandwiches bought here. Recommended for first time customers. We get these two every time we visit.

Judy H.

Yelp
A pretty basic banh mi spot in my opinion. Nothing stood out nor tasted special to me. Good options and employees are friendly though.

Sophie H.

Yelp
In my opinion, the best Vietnamese sandwiches in Orange County. Loved the ice coffee and the spring rolls. I always go grab a sandwich when I am in the area.

Michelle N.

Yelp
I didn't know they opened this spot on Bolsa! I've only tried Pickle Banh Mi and heard Carrot & Daikon was the same thing so I'm glad I ran into it. I got the Banh Mi Cha Lua (Pork Roll) and free Winter Melon Flavored Tea w/ the Yelp Check In. They gave us a lot of meat portion and the bread was buttered with pate nicely. I'm usually not a fan of pate but these places don't make it too heavy. I'm sure you could request more if you want to. The tea was great to wash it down with. Not sure when the Yelp check in offer will end so I would take advantage of it while you can! They offer different Milk or Flavored Tea choices.

Sophie Y.

Yelp
I decided to try this place based on its positive Yelp reviews, and it didn't disappoint. The bread was light and fluffy, and the pork belly was crispy with a nice amount of veggies (can definitely have more veggies as the meat was salty). I'm giving it one less star because of the brown sauce, which was overly salty and a bit off-putting--not sure if it was the marinade. Overall, it was still a solid sandwich. Thank you for your service, a veteran owned business!

Melanie H.

Yelp
Love this place! Came a little late so I missed out on the lemon grass sandwich but the lomo saltado hits the spot! You can't go wrong. Make sure you check in to get a free drink and also get your points. My kids do no jalapeños but I love all the flavor

Jenny Y.

Yelp
The roasted pork banh mi was surprisingly crispy still. It didn't look like it would be. Not too much of the brown-ish sauce they put in their banh mis. It was good with the roasted pork but felt weird with the cold cut.

Truc T.

Yelp
Tucked away in the corner of a busy part of Little Saigon is one of my favorite Banh mi places, nothing hits better than a crispy pork belly Banh Mi (Heo Quay) with perfectly baked bread & Vietnamese Mayo! Having tried a few sandwiches here, I'd personally just recommend the Crispy Pork Belly Banh Mi. Bread is baked to be soft yet crunchy(kind to your mouth roofs), mayo(Vietnamese Butter) is solid, the perfect amount of veggies & pickled veggies, great crispy pork skin, & was super filling. Check in for a free tea! Parking is a bit rough here, busy area, but I love coming here every time! As a big THH fan, this place has joined the ranks!
