Top Baguette Review - Westminster - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Plain and simple, Top Baguette makes our favorite banh mi in Little Saigon. The tiny, order-at-the-counter shop isn’t doing anything extreme with their sandwiches, they’re just doing them extremely well. That means fresh toppings that perfectly pair with whichever protein you choose, plus crunchy French baguettes we wish we could take home in bulk. Our move is always the BBQ beef with lemongrass, but if you’re looking to change it up, try the tuna as well. Just make sure you add a fried egg on top." - Brant Cox

One of my favorite Banh Mi spots in Westminster. Easy parking, not a crowded lot. Restaurant is pushed in the corner but don’t let it fool you. The food is well worth it! Family owned. You can tell the bread is baked fresh daily. The BBQ beef and lemon grass is solid every time. They take card and cash. Cash is obliviously preferred. Worth a stop in if you’re in the area.

I prefer Carrot & Daikon (sister store?). However, Fri 18 Aug at 12:10 pm for Top Baguette: it was easy parking, only $2 can Monster, and banh mi is fine. They offered to cut the sandwiches in 1/2, so my sister and I split the Dac Biet and the Pork Belly. My sister said the banh mi didn't stand out. I would have to agree. But I'll come back for the $2 Monster and try other items.

First time coming to this place. Ordered the rotisserie chicken bahn mi and added their combo, which included 4 egg rolls, 1 pate chaud and a soda. Total was $7.50. Super reasonably price. The owner was very friendly and nice. The egg roll was very flavorful so was their sandwich. They don’t skimp out on the meat. The pate chaud(first time having thing ever) was soft and flaky.

This place has fresh delicious banh mi for a reasonable price. We also tried their vegetarian and chicken eggrolls, and pate pastry. All were extremely delicious, especially toasted. I’ll be there next week to try their spring rolls.

Located in a small plaza by the corner of Magnolia and Bolsa Ave. Parking is a pain. Lol. You are lucky if you can find one. Inside store looks modern and clean. I ordered 2 type of sandwiches: a grilled beef, a grilled chicken and some Pate Chaud (puffy pastry pork and chicken). Love its grilled beef sandwich, very tasty. The aroma and the taste of lemongrass is just heavenly good. Baguette was crispy. Beef was tendered and juicy. While I like the beef sandwich, however, not so much on chicken sandwich. Although it was tendered and juicy as well, but no taste compared to the beef. Will skip this next time. All trimmings such as slices cucumber, carrot and daikon pickles, slice jalapeños and cilantro were fresh. Pate Chaud was good. Very tasty on both chicken and pork. Service was friendly.

Google
My favorite Vietmames Banh Mi place. I only wish they had a location in Irvine. This establishment has the best quality ingredients and their own yummy twist to Traditional đặc biệt (#1) sandwhich all for a great price! Clean restaurant and friendly staff makes it welcoming. My only complaint is parking can be in pain in the butt, I would recommend calling in your order before during peak times.

Google
My go-to banh mi spot! I drive 15 miles to go here and it is worth every mile. The way they make their sandwiches reminds me of the kind I grew up with. I don’t eat pork so the beef and sardine are my favorite sandwiches. I recommend getting the fried egg on the beef banh mi. The bread is made in house, is crispy and soft at the same time. I especially love how clean the place is and how they prepare the sandwiches. They don’t mix utensils and always change gloves each time. The people are also friendly. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Google
Whenever I'm in town I have to stop here! the Banh Mi sandwiches are great and you can not beat the price! They last for quite awhile if you are not looking to eat them right away. I have even brought some back to Utah and they were great! I love the BBQ Pork with egg. These are even great for breakfast! You can not go wrong here!

Yelp
Best banh mi in Westminster, great variety of banh mi to choose from! Highly recommend as a local.

Yelp
The crispy pork belly sandwich is the best here. The service here is really fast. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
One of the best Pork belly Bahn mi in orange county, ca. portion size is very generous.

Yelp
Premium Bahn Mi. Worth it. Crispy pork belly, extra meat House special, extra Lemongrass beef, extra Fry your own organic eggs in olive oil. Great!

Yelp
Hands down best bahn mi I come here way too often now. #8 is way to go for best bahn mi in town

Yelp
I stopped by Carrot & Daikon Banh Mi and really enjoyed their combination sandwich--the bread was fresh, light, and had the perfect crunch. The sandwich was good, though I still prefer the ones from THH overall, but Carrot & Daikon's bread is a bit better in my opinion. The tofu spring rolls were delicious, and the sauce that came with them was probably the best I've ever had. The egg rolls were also really solid. Overall, it's a nice spot worth visiting, especially for the spring rolls. I definitely appreciate being able to order Vietnamese food via a drive through.
google avatar

Laura J.

Yelp
The banh mis here are huge and very affordable, they have so many different varieties too, that I never get tired of them. I also love their shrimp and pork spring rolls. You can get veggies on the side and ask them to leave stuff out if needed. The baguette is crunchy outside and soft inside, my favorite is always the combo, lots of meat and pate, super flavorful and the pickled veggies does a nice job balancing out all the meat.

Yelp
1. The sandwich was well-crafted and loaded with lots of layers! The grilled pork was good! 2. The spot has busy casual vibes! The interior is nicely arranged with enough room! 3. There were only indoor seatings available! There are few tables! 4. The staff was friendly and timely with my order! It was ready in less than 10 mins! 5. The parking lot is small! Spots are double-lined and not compact! Photo: Grilled Pork Banh Mi

Yelp
Amazing bánh mì. Mine was I think $6.99! A they put a ton of grilled chicken, lots of veggies and lots of sauce inside. From most bánh mì I've had in the past, there is only mayo but this had another sauce. No idea what it was, but it was creamy and good. Maybe too much for my preference. The service was fast. We ordered and received our sandwiches within 7 minutes! I got complimented on my Vietnamese :) My dad got the grilled pork and again, tons of meat. Very tasty too. It was sweet!! My mom got the xíu mại and ive never had it until today and it was super tender. The meatballs were flavorful and quite yummy.
google avatar

Celeste H.

Yelp
The best banh mi! The baguette was super crunchy but not dry at all. There was plenty of meat and pickled carrot and daikon inside. Super moist and flavorful! Would highly recommend.

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday around lunch to find that there were some people eating. I got the banh mi heo quay. The guy at the register was super nice and cheery which was fun. At the time I ordered, the staff were dealing with a very large to-go order of sandwiches, so it took a little bit for mine to get prepared. I wish they toasted the bread a bit before giving it to you, but maybe that's something you have to specify. I think it lived to the hype. The veggie serving is a lot, and the heo quay is very crispy and soft. The butter is also very yummy and to-die for. The size of the banh mi is also HUGE. Would come back

Yelp
Ohhh banh mi! If you haven't tried carrot&daikon ....well, you should! I love this place! I love banh mi though so you have to enjoy banh mi to love this place. I love their pork belly or their regular banh mi with cold cuts. I always ask for extra pate because you should! I also loveee their seafood egg rolls! Well I love all the egg rolls but the seafood one is my favorite. I also enjoy their beef stew with baguette. What can I say, a girl loves to eat! I order online which sometimes is a hit or miss. Sometimes going there to order is faster sometimes online is faster. Depends on the day, I guess. But please try this place if you haven't yet! They have more than one location.
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly, fast service and affordable. There are some tables for dine-in as well. Ambiance is pretty casual. This is one of my favorite banh mi locations (please open up in 626 area!), and I actively seek out Carrot and Daikon when in the area. I usually get the dac biet and the pork belly. The pork belly is harder to come across as the pork belly can run out (as I have experienced before at the Garden Grove location) but I have never been disappointed with their banh mi. Prices are fair $6.99 for dac biet and about $8 for pork belly (in June 2025). Would easily come back when in the area.

Yelp
Tried Carrots & Daikon for the first time and was impressed! I got the #6 Crispy Pork Belly and the #1 Classic banh mi, both were massive and packed with flavor. The pork belly lived up to the hype: crispy and juicy! While I still prefer the butter they use at Lynda Sandwiches (it's just unmatched), Carrots & Daikon definitely holds its own. Solid banh mi spot, would recommend and definitely coming back to try more!

Yelp
Delicious banh mi. The shop is clean and the staff are friendly. Carrot and Daikon is my favorite banh mi shop.

Yelp
Great one stop shop for awesome Banh Mi, Dessert and Vietnamese Coffee. We always stop by here when we are around the OC, and make sure to get the pork belly Banh Mi. Pretty much all the selections are great here and best of all the prices are legit and they come out quick! Can't wait to come back here again!
google avatar

Yelp
I've had this a few times but I don't love it as much as the other reviews. The bread seems too Jersey Mike-like instead of the flaky and fragrant baguette that traditional banh mi shops use. The bulk of the submarine bread overpowers the filling and it overall doesn't taste as Vietnamese as I would want a banh mi to be. Consider this a modern Americanized twist to a banh mi that bridges the gap between a Jersey Mike's cold cut sandwich and an old school banh mi shop.

Yelp
Just had the best crispy pork belly Ban Mai sandwich I believe no one does it better so crispy and fresh vegetables. Loved it's a must try
google avatar

Keilab A.

Yelp
Calling all banh mi lovers, I guarantee Carrot and Daikon will be your newest obsession. Their menu is full of a variety of sandwiches to choose from with some unique ones too. I saw a spam and egg, meatball, lomo saltado, and filet mignon one. I opted for the classic thick cut thit nuong (charbroiled pork) and it didn't disappoint. The baguette was perfectly crispy with a nice chew, picked veg was chef's kiss, and the thit nuong was charbroiled to perfection. So sooo good
google avatar

Joy C.

Yelp
Carrot & Daikon is simply superior to other banh mi places. Their crispy pork belly banh mi is the best compared to others. They're well seasoned, not too fatty, and above all, remains crispy. The parking lot can fill up pretty fast on weekends but people are usually coming and going all the time.
google avatar

Loc T.

Yelp
Very good banh mi. The pork belly o m g delicious. Plenty parking. Guy from San diego here.
google avatar

Michelle D.

Yelp
5 stars for the taste. My new favorite spot compared to THH and Pickles. I gave it a 4 stars based upon the INCONSISTENCY of how much or little meat is in the sandwich. Some are packed with goodness and some are not. But regardless, my favorite spot for banh mi.
google avatar

Marc Y.

Yelp
Nice small store serving Bahn Mi. Sandwiches come quick and are satisfying. Missing a bit of Oomph to push them over to a 5 star. Staff is kind though
google avatar

Nancy Q.

Yelp
Every ingredient is so delicious and in harmony with everything else. The bread is soft on the inside with a crisp on the outside. We got #1 (special). The cha is nice and peppery. There's a generous serving of pork belly. Deliciously spiced Pate and creamy mayo. The veggies were fresh too. Service is quick and friendly. The price is so good for such a well made sandwich that's a big portion. The store is casual with tables for dine in. Many will get takeout.

Yelp
I've heard nothing but good things about this chain. We were in the area and wanted to give it a try for ourselves. When you walk in there are prepared snacks lining the right wall and the cashier on the left. We ordered the Banh Mi Dac Biet. Currently waiting for our order due to a 20 min wait.. hopefully it's worth it. Update- it was not worth it. Not only did we wait 30 mins for the bread to finish baking.. when I received the banh mi it was cold. I thought that's odd.. but maybe they cooled it down so I don't burn myself. When I tell you this thing was the hardest piece of bread I have ever bitten into.. it might as well have been a cinder block crumbling all over myself and car. Unfortunately, the inwards were no better; Bland and flavorless. Never again. I'll wait to go to Xpresso urban cafe in corona!
google avatar

Josephine A.

Yelp
Tried the pork roll bánh mì here and wow--this is my new go-to! The bread was perfectly crisp on the outside but soft inside, exactly what you want in a bánh mì. I got extra meat, but portion size was great for the price.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Carrot & Daikon for a long time, I was in the area and needed some breakfast so what better time to try than now. I came last Saturday around 9am and thankfully the store was pretty empty. Parking was easy to find in the morning but there are not many spaces; the plaza was basically full by the time I finished eating and left the place (the store also visibly got busy). There is a lot of variety to choose from, which I chose one of the best sellers, the crispy pork belly (heo quay), while my sister chose the classic (dac biet). Food came pretty quick and staff would call out the number from our receipt. Needless to say that this definitely exceeded my expectations, I can see why they are popular! The pork belly had a nice crunch and was tender. There was also a generous amount of meat on both banh mis, especially on the classic one as there were like three types of meat. I also especially like the sauce and I feel like the mayo tastes a bit different from other places but in a good way, it also had a slight kick of spice to it (could possibly be sriracha?). The bread was soft and fluffy on the inside while also being crunchy on the outside. Just everything well well together including the veggies, sauce, and bread, they were all good. Overall, I'm so glad I finally got to try and I highly recommend! Though almost $9 for the crispy pork belly is more on the expensive side for OC prices, it is well worth the price. Would come back again for sure if I'm ever in the area and I hope they will open in other parts of OC so that it's closer to me.

Yelp
This is my favorite sandwich shop because the price is great for such a big sandwich. However the service is very hit or miss. Parking is in a small plaza but cars come and go quick so if you wait you will eventually find a spot! When I went this time, I placed an order for pick up and when I came the bag was missing multiple items like the egg rolls and drinks. I asked them about the drinks and they said they sold out and couldn't refund me so they gave me a different one. Then I asked about the egg roll and they gave me a smaller quantity than what I ordered so I asked again. Additionally when I opened the sandwich they did not follow any of the modifications. I think they can be more aware of the orders and being intentional about packing it and transparency of sold out items. That being said the banh mi thit quay is one of the best in the area but their other locations have better service!
google avatar

KC U.

Yelp
Fast and friendly service. Food is delicious. Location has more seating. Has selections on the counters for ready access of desserts. Check this place out if you want crispy pork banh mi's or crispy pork spring rolls. Treat yourself for a finger foods. Check out my pics. Will definitely come back here instead of the other place in Garden Grove area. It's closer to where I was staying at.
google avatar

Tina V.

Yelp
Decided to go to this location rather than the other one that I usually go to. I got the crispy pork banh mi and it was really plain. It definitely needed some sauce! A little disappointed!
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
I had to try what was dubbed "OC's best banh mi" on various internet posts. I am usually a THH loyalist as it is close to my house, but I need to give Carrot and Daikon its well-deserved flowers. The baguettes are large, soft, and crunchy. The meats are savory and addicting. The pickled vegetables offer the perfect refreshing note. I highly recommend the #6 (Crispy Pork Belly) and the #14 (Lemongrass Beef). I gave the #15 (Lomo Saltado) a try as well, but I think the former options are tastier. #15 could use a little more sauce, it was a little drier than the others. Anyways, highly recommend. These sandwiches will fill you up quickly.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch on a Saturday, and even though it was fairly busy, we got our food surprisingly fast. A lot of people got their food togo, but there are several tables inside for you to eat at. We ordered the Classic and the Crispy Pork Belly bánh mì, along with the pork egg rolls, shrimp & crab egg rolls, and the kumquat sugarcane juice. The bánh mì was fantastic! I really appreciated how the baguette had the perfect crunch without being too hard--it didn't cut the roof of my mouth like some do. But the real standout? The egg rolls! They use a unique rice noodle wrapper that makes them extra crispy and flavorful--honestly, some of the best I've ever had. The kumquat sugarcane juice was refreshing and complemented the meal perfectly. Overall, everything was delicious, and I'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
My friend took me here for a quick brunch since he said he really enjoyed the banh mi here and it was a chain. Ive never been to any of the locations and I'm no expert, but I really enjoyed it! I typically get the chicken banh mi wherever I go and this one was pretty good. It was just the grilled chicken banh mi. He had mentioned it wasn't as dry as most banh MI places and I agree. The chicken was also tender and had great flavor. I ate half and saved the rest for later. My friend got the lemongrass beef and finished all of it. Service was quick and efficient. We tried to get the pastries from the oven, but some were completely sold out already - someone had pre-ordered- so they must be busy! I forgot which ones we got but it was also pretty tasty. Ambience was very Mom and pop. As we were waiting for our sandwiches to be ready, the line got pretty long! No pictures unfortunately, but this is a banh mi chain I would definitely revisit! Delicious :)

Yelp
I like this newer Carrot & Daikon location. I actually was able to go inside, not like the original Taco Bell location where I have to order and receive my food outside. Service has been very good every time I've shown up. The guy is friendly and is willing to give suggestions. The banh mi's seem to be better than the ones at their original location. How much better than the good banh mi's at the original location? The ones here seem to have more meat, more pate, and just enough veggies. It's just better for me. It's a good place. I like it. I just wished they were closer to where I am, or where I'm going.
google avatar

Yelp
My buddy and I came here after playing a round of golf. The sandwich spot hit the spot and there were so many other choices, but we chose this one because it looked promising. When you come down to Westminster/ Bolsa you cannot not have a banh mi.. Originally I was thinking of going to your typical banh mi che cali or THH but I'm so glad we came here. The Banh Mi bread was very crispy and toasty. You have to eat it there on the spot. The veggies are very fresh and we ordered a few different ones to try and we just sat in silenced and wrecked it. I recommend a special combination number one. The crispy pork one is really good too. My buddy enjoyed the lemongrass beef as well. This spot left us craving for more!
google avatar

Yelp
Carrot and Daikon is a popular Banh Mi (Vietnamese Sandwich) chain here in Southern California. Even in a saturated banh mi market, Carrot and Daikon still stands out for its quality, consistency, and creativity. The flavors are very solid, and they have fast and friendly service. It does get a little busy, but it usually goes pretty fast. Overall, a very solid Banh Mi spot to hit any craving!
google avatar

Brian T.

Yelp
Delicious banh mi! They load the pate and sauce in the sandwich. Good amount of meat and a good ratio. Would prefer the bread to be a bit more crisp. Came here on a Sunday morning and ordered online. Checked in with cashier about online order and made the order then. Not much of a line and they have a parking lot. They have about 5 tables inside with other side dishes on display for sale. The crispy pork belly was great! Crispy skin and tender meat.
google avatar

Anthony N.

Yelp
Located right at the corner of Magnolia and Bolsa. This is my go to banh mi spot. I always get the number 1 with everything and I add crispy roast pork. Their pork is so crunchy and airy, I love it. The place has plenty of seating inside and the plaza has decent amount of parking. All the business there are short stay so I've never had an issue parking. The staff inside are very fast and pleasant to deal with. Never had a big order of mine go wrong and the food is very consistent.
google avatar

Lili K.

Yelp
I've been here several times, and like getting the lemongrass beef and vegetarian banh mi! The bread itself is nice and soft, and of course, I love the carrots and daikon (and jalapeños!)
google avatar

Alicia N.

Yelp
I always have a positive experience at this location. The workers are quick, friendly, and patient. One time, shortly after the pandemic, a customer was yelling at the workers over a price raise on the egg rolls, which I always get, and they were still respectful towards him even though the workers there don't control the pricing. Honestly, I think their prices are fair. The sandwiches are $7-9 each. The shop is small and clean with limited tables. However, most people just get takeout.
google avatar

Chismosa B.

Yelp
Great egg rolls that are always crispy and great banhmis that have fresh bread and vegetables
google avatar

Catherine L.

Yelp
Excellent sandwiches! We tried the egg and spam cuz we missed eggs for breakfast, and the crispy pork Banh mi. Blown away by the quality and flavor! Crispy pork was generous and very crispy and savory! Bread was solid, tender inside crispy outside. Filed with spread, sauce and daikon, jalapeño, maybe some Cucumber and fresh cilantro. We'll definitely be back for more! Best Banh mi I've had in a while!
google avatar

Yelp
Food: 4/5 There's a variety of Banh mi sandwiches to choose from - pork belly is one of their most popular item with crispy pork skin and melt in your mouth fatty meat to the classic pork loaf deli. Their banh mi has the perfect crunchy exterior and soft interior and each sandwich is paired perfectly with their pickled radish. Service: 4/5 You can order your sandwich from the little windows and they also provide the orders there or they also have a drive thru option where you can order from your car. I believe there's a small indoor section, but it was closed off when we were there. The cashier was a little slow to respond to our need but everything was straight forward. Ambiance: There's a little outdoor seating area to feast on, but everyone purchases the banh mi and leaves.

Yelp
I finally found this place to really try it out. I guess I had high expectation for it since it was really good the first time my cousin got them for us/our group. I got the eggs & spam banh mi. I was disappointed. It was just okay. Very little pate. The first time I had it, it was full of pate & pork floss. Today, the banh mi had very little of protein. Spam was very thinly sliced and the egg wasn't filled all the way through the length of the banh mi. It is definitely better than their Newland location though. And they give you a bigger banh mi also. They are known for their crispy pork belly banh mi but I do not like pork belly since it is full of fat. If you like pork belly, maybe to give them a try? Ah well, back to your my original place again and continue my search for a better banh mi place.

Yelp
I would have rated 5 stars had I reviewed it last week but I waited till I tried a 2nd time. My husband ordered the usual crispy pork n he also wanted to try the pha lau. It turned out to be a disaster, he ditched his 1/2 I forced myself to eat a little bit. The 2 stars reflected how bad the pha lau was, it was very salty n the thick dark color sauce poured over the intestine made it look unappetizing. The crispy pork was amazing last time but today either it was an accident they poured the same thick horrible sauce fr the pha lau over the heo quay or this is the way they do it going forward, bro don't do it the crispy pork should be left alone w a little soy sauce or it should be better w Maggi sauce NOT THE WEIRD TASTING brown SAUCE. My late mom told me daily not to waste food as African kids are starving so I forced myself to eat 1/2 a sandwich n was very upset afterwards. I'll give it 1 more chance n if they still do this sauce I'll be done for good. I also ordered the Bo kho but it was so oily I put it in the freezer to get all the fat out n eat it for breakfast , if it's good I'll up rate it to 3 stars.

Yelp
My husband and I were looking for a quick bite when we discovered Carrot & Daikon--and we're so glad we did! We ordered #1 The Classic and #7 Pha Lau Sate (Pork Offal Stewed with Five Spices). Our food arrived quickly, and the banh mis were impressively large and generously filled. The Classic was hands down one of the best cold cut banh mis I've ever had. The baguette was perfectly crisp without being too hard, and the pâté was rich and flavorful. The Pork Offal was also delicious, but I found myself leaning more toward The Classic. Overall, a satisfying dinner at a great price. We'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
This is my go-to spot for banh mi! The service was quick, the food was great, and it's really easy to order! I will always come here for the #6, crispy pork belly (heo quay) and it hits every time. it's the perfect balance of meat, veggies, and textures!
