Google
Excellent Burmese restaurant. We got the okra dish and the meat stew - both very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The tea leaf salad is one of the freshest we’ve ever had. The staff is 10/10 as well. I told them I have a soy allergy and they went out of their way to make me a special soup that was soy free. Very sweet of them. They also have this robot that brings you your food (!!) - very cool. Would absolutely come here again. Top 3 Burmese restaurants I have been to.

Google
My first venture into Burmese cuisine was a fond one. The tea leaf curry was magnificent. Sabine, my server, was friendly and attentive, and the decor made for the type of ambience that makes one want to stay for awhile. I'm dropping the review because GET RID OF THE DANG ROBOT! It was creepy. I found it on my Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan listings.

Google
A really hearty and fun place serving up scrumptious Burmese food. Started with the appetizer platter which came with the samosas and the spring rolls. The samosas were very flavorful. As for the mains we ordered the 3 curry special, favorite was the tea leaf chicken curry. It had the right amount of spice and went great with the sweet pumpkin curry that had the perfect blend of sweetness and spice working together. The service was great. Definitely recommend this place for a chill night out.

Google
My new favorite restaurant! We had the best experience ever here. First of all, there are tons of amazing options for vegans and non vegans alike, our server was amazing, the decor was top notch and it was a joyful experience the entire visit. Get the Burmese tea, it’s like what you wish Thai tea was made from (made with coconut milk).

Google
Top Burmese Burma Joy in Portland offers a delightful exploration of Burmese cuisine, blending Chinese and Indian influences. The restaurant is known for its inviting atmosphere, featuring lush greenery and traditional decor, with the unique addition of robot servers. Popular dishes include the Kyay-Oh noodle soup, coconut beef curry, and golden samosas. The menu is vegan-friendly and offers a variety of plant-based options. Patrons appreciate the flavorful and hearty dishes, as well as the warm and cozy ambiance, making it a perfect spot for a unique dining experience in Portland.

Google
Food was really good, pumpkin curry was very well cooked and seasoned and the broth for the noodles was delicious. The provided hot sauce also added a nice level of spice.

Google
It was our first experience to Burmese cuisine and hope it’s not the last. Surprisingly the fermented tea leaves salad was the highlight of the night; nice balance of flavors with slight umami taste. I would definitely go back to try out other dishes

Google
I really wanted to love this place. It was sparkling clean, very cute decor, and our waiter was super nice. But the food was a disappointment. We shared 2 items. The mango tea salad and a mango chicken vegetable dish with rice. The salad was SO SALTY it wasn't edible. I don't know if it was the dressing, the peanuts or something else. Just wow. Not good. The other dish was ok. Not fantastic just ok. Not sure if we will try again, there are too many other spots to try.

Deidre M.

Yelp
Visiting Portland and ordered takeout. Everything was very good. We had the tea leaf salad, mango chicken, and coconut beef curry. Husband's first time having Burmese food and he loved it. Edited to add: super appreciated that gluten free was marked on the menu!

Yelp
I've never had Burmese, but would describe as a mix of Thai & Indian flavors. Been a few times to try some different dishes. The Papawadi Beef Coconut Curry & Mango Chicken were just ok. A bit bland, not enough flavor for me, same w/ the jackfruit curry. However, I really liked the Kyay Oh, which I would describe as sort of like pho but w/ more tasty veggies like lotus root, wood ear mushrooms and another delicious type of mushroom (the long stringy ones). You can get it w/ meatballs and it is served w/ a little hot sauce that was quite spicy, great to dip the meatballs or veggies in. They also had some tea leaf salads that looked pretty interesting & athoke which I don't even know what that is so might have to come back to try those. Only reason for not 5 stars is food is a bit slow to arrive even when slow and they used to have a lunch menu w/ some of the items discounted but guess they got rid of that. Inside is pretty nice & classy & they have a few covered outdoor tables as well.

Yelp
This was a let down.I was really looking forward to a different cuisine than my usual Chinese/Indian /Korean cuisine Food: 2 stars Service: 3 stars Ambiance: 4 stars Everything was salty. We couldn't even eat quarter of food and decided to pack and eat later. We never got to it. Hoping ours was a one-off case. That said I will probably not be venturing here that often.

Mansta A.

Yelp
This was my first time trying Burmese food. The server was extremely friendly and helpful. We tried the mango chicken curry, the mango salad and the Shan noodles. The noodles were my favorite dish with chicken curry mixed with herbs and onions. I did notice that they use raw onions on a lot of dishes and it was a bit potent for me. All of the dishes were flavorful but I would like a little bit of spice to kick it up a notch. I have nothing else to compare it to since it's my first time having Burmese food but overall it was good food!

Caleb L.

Yelp
This place is definitely understaffed. Service is friendly, but slow. We got the chicken khao soi, the tofu garlic noodles, and the Papawadi coconut beef stew. Everything was too salty, and nothing came out hot. Everything was lukewarm. The garlic noodles are a hard pass. The beef stew was flavorful but the beef itself was extremely dry and bland. Would not recommend

Stacie M.

Yelp
This was my first time ever trying Burmese food and I am obsessed!!! I'm pescatarian so I loved all the chickpea/vegetarian options. I was absolutely obsessed with the green tea salad. And then the coconut curry noodles were also so delicious. I recommend trying everything and just bringing home leftovers. It was all so good and I just wish there was one in San Diego!

SZ P.

Yelp
Food was sooo good! Tried the vegetarian Khao Soi- Coconut Noodle Soup with Tofu. Perfect on a chilly day! Friendly service, huge portions, and very cute decor. I'll definitely be back when I'm back in this area of Portland.

Yelp
Seems that lately Burmese food has been on my mind!! My husband and I had a date to go see a movie and he decided we should try the Portland location of Top Burmese, with a slightly different menu than our Downtown Beaverton spot, and a lot of similar dishes. I wasn't crazy about the decor, it made it feel smaller and darker inside but the food delivers just like the other location. We tried the "yellow tofu tots" as an appetizer and WOW. I seriously feel sad that Beaverton doesn't have these on the menu. They were SO good. Lightly fried, very airy and light in both texture and flavor. Very good. I had the Garlic Noodles and yes. Delicious. Bit also, BEWARE if you are just OKAY about garlic. I eat cloves raw. I LOVE garlic. If it says 4 cloves, I'll likely use 12. If it says 1 I'll use 5. This is HEAVY in garlic. Good for your immune system!! My husband got the Kyay Oh noodles. And he loved that dish too. I got a Dragon fruit Whiskey Sour and it was tremendous. Absolutely perfect in flavor and JUST right for sipping. What has lacked across the board for me at Top Burmese both here and Beaverton has been service. It's like the focus is SO on the robot that the humans don't try to interact with you as much. Yes you CAN scan the QR on your table and order more but it feels colder than someone just checking on me. Part of what made this particular Portland brand so special was the "home" feeling that you're welcomed into someone's home to enjoy home cooking. It's evaporated since COVID.

Jonathan F.

Yelp
Garlic noodles here were great! Service is quick and excellent. Music is very chill, not too loud and not too quiet.

Heidi K.

Yelp
We ordered the golden noodles and asked for rice noodles instead of wheat noodles without issue. Dish was delicious and filling. Menu was well marked for gluten free and vegan options. Service was friendly and quick

Suren D.

Yelp
Second time here. I debated trying something new to branch out but the garlic noodles have too much power over me. I have no regrets.

Sarah K.

Yelp
Everything was fantastic. We were able to walk in on a busy Friday without a reservation and got a table. The food was fantastic!!!Absolutely get the mango salad, and if you eat beef their signature beef coconut curry. If you drink definitely get the Ngapali Day off. It is refreshing, well balanced and just down right tasty!

Naren D.

Yelp
We were the only 2nd table around 1:30pm and were seated curbside. For about 15 minutes the waitress and she was the only one managing. I had to go inside to order beer. It took another 10 minutes and finally we got the beer. The food we only ordered the mix samosa which also took long time. And for an hour and half ok samosas and very bad service we got a bill and it included a 20% tip. Sorry I'm not going back.

Masha V.

Yelp
Salad was bland AF. Noodles bland. Idk how they got the stars they have. Honestly. Idk

Mia H.

Yelp
My friends invited me to this place one evening, and I've never tried Burmese food before, so I was super excited. Walking in, the decor was so beautiful and the ambiance was both romantic and intimate. Staff was super friendly and they have a cute little robot that delivers your dishes to your table. They had so many different options--both vegan and non-vegan--and it all seemed delicious. I ended up getting the jackfruit curry and it was so so delicious. I've never had anything like it before, but it was both light and very VERY flavorful. I would definitely love to come back here to try some other vegan Burmese dishes! :)

Risse P.

Yelp
It was my first time trying Burmese cuisine and everything we ordered was delicious! There were so many vegan options and our server was so helpful at helping us choose (my favorite was the wheat noodle soup). We went on a Sunday evening and it was steadily busy, but for the majority of our meal we were one of three groups sitting inside. There is also ample seating outdoors with heaters. I will be coming back!

Duy N.

Yelp
Came here for lunch. Top notch quality. Jackfruit curry was unique, rich and flavorful. Samosas were delicate and a must get every time. Pegu Club of course!

Nicol L.

Yelp
Our group of 4 drove around the block looking for parking on a Thursday night around 7 pm for at least 15 minutes. The restaurant itself is very elegant, with outdoor seating too. We were served by a waiter but the food came on robots. The mango chicken was interesting. I loved the tea leaf chicken, it tasted very homey. The Kyay Oh was new to us. Although filled with all of my favorite Asian veggies, it tasted very plain. A good soup to have if you're sick, I feel. The mango juice also tasted just like what you could get at the store. Overall, good food but I wouldn't come back for it!

Anders B.

Yelp
Are you sober? health conscious? or do you want to try something that ISN'T Thai because it's overdone. This joint was the perfect end to a busy day working on the ship in the yard. The gloomy weather outside was kept back by the warmth and inviting atmosphere this place offered. The coconut beef curry was like if Your grandmother's goulash was made in Myanmar, hearty, warm, soothing on the palate. I wanted to curl up for a nap after this dinner. The N/A mango drink was creamy, smooth and the tajin salt garnish? *chefs kiss* perfect

Alice S.

Yelp
I was excited to try this place out after seeing the stellar reviews and getting recommended by friends who were locals. However, coming from SF, I've had exceptional Burmese food (Burma Superstar, B Star, Burma Love, etc). So this spot just didn't quite hit the mark for me. Most of the items here were bland and lacked the complexity and spices that you would find at an authentic Burmese restaurant. The green tea leaf salad here was actually really flavorful and was one of the best tea leaf salads I've ever had. However, everything else I tried was sadly disappointing. The garlic noodles were very overcooked and lacked flavor, the sauce in the punn they noodles didn't tasted good, the beef curry was bland and beef was hard to chew, and the samosas weren't memorable either.

Shania Z.

Yelp
This was my first time trying Burmese food, and it was a very wonderful experience! The interior was absolutely stunning with lovely plants, decorations, and lighting. The staff was also very nice, we enjoyed the service. Now for the best part, the food! We got the Burmese Gold Samosas, Green Tea Leaf Salad, Papawadi Coconut Beef Curry, and Vegetarian Kyay Oh. I would highly recommend the first 3 items, they were delicious. The samosas are spiced super well and have a yummy sauce to dip them in, definitely the best samosas I've had. The salad is very unique, it has a strong earthy, garlicky flavor and lots of nuts. I've never had a salad like it before, it was so good. The beef curry was also incredible, so savory and deep in flavor. The Kyay Oh was my least favorite item of the bunch. Though it has a nice heat, overall it is a bit plain for my liking. Additionally, the beef in our curry was a bit tough. However, these are all preferences and might be different per person! Overall, I would definitely come back and recommend for everyone to try in Portland! With unique, spicy flavors and a lovely ambience, this place doesn't disappoint!

Ankit P.

Yelp
So I've been to the Beaverton location and now this one, and both were consistently good! The Khao Soi with tofu was excellent, with the perfect amount of flavor. Loved the different toppings with the bowl and they added a decent amount of protein as well. Not spicy at all, yet carried a unique authentic taste to it. The Yellow Tofu tots were something new and we loved it as well. It had a great mix of crispness, taste and spices and the chili sauce went well with it. It's almost like a savory mini fritters but better and definitely different as well. Service was standard and layout was great. Good amount of other vegan and vegetarian options. On the pricier side for sure but it's still worth the visit!

Chelsey F.

Yelp
This was the best meal i had in Portland! Felt like a great home cooked meal. The Yangon Mango Salad with the Papawadi Coconut Beef Curry was a pair! I loved the robot and the drinks. I got a mock-tail by accident but it was delightful. And the cocktails are also great! Highly, highly recommend!

Austin Y.

Yelp
Okayyy Top Burmese!! Got this rec from a local at the Japanese Forest, Lavita (who also drove us here!). I got the "khao soi", which was . The soup is very thick, like a fusion between curry and soup noodles, and with a kick of spiciness! I never had Burmese food before but this was definitely hit the spot. Especially after a hard day of conferencing while walking the Japanese Garden! ‍. Definitely recommend! 8/10 The service was interesting. You order via an QR code and a robot delivers to you. No waiter/waitress. Idk how I feel about it yet, but it definitely changed the vibe of the place. I also couldn't ask anybody about some questions I had on their menu. Ambiance was small but cute! Come here! It's honestly really good :)

Yelp
Visited based on high reviews on Yelp/Google, but left feeling disappointed. Food - Was average at best. Having eaten a wide variety of similar southeast Asian cuisines, the curries that we had seemed lacking in flavor and tasted flat. To be fair, the portions were decently sized, and there was a lot of meat to rice ratio in our entrees. Pricing - Entrees ($22) were expensive for the quality of food we had overall. Service - there was a robot server that brought us our drinks and our food. To order, a waitress came up to us and let us know that whenever we were ready to order, we could order through the QR code on the table, or we could call her back to our table. We ended up ordering through the QR code, and it took a little while for the server to come back to our table. Throughout dinner, we were only checked on once. When it was time to pay, our server came up, and tipping felt odd since it was primarily the robot that we interacted with all evening. Overall, meal was average, but was unfortunately hampered by the price and restaurant service.

Josh Y.

Yelp
The inside of the restaurant transports you to a tropical hideaway with lush greenery and SE Asian relics contrasted with dark teak wood and low table lighting. But don't let it fool you, deep in the jungle there are signs of modern life - robot servers! The food was delicious and full of flavor. There were plenty of plant based options on the menu. I had the golden samosas, the tea leaf salad and the jackfruit curry. The samosas were crisp and light with the perfect amount of spice in the potato. The accompanying dipping sauce provided an excellent counterbalance with the heat and citrus notes. My one slight disappointment was the tea leaf salad. I would have enjoyed it with more fermented tea leafs and less cabbage, but still overall tasty. Would definitely recommend!

Marlene R.

Yelp
Great ambiance and decor. Service was lacking despite a robot delivery. Menu was basic Burmese. Tofu tots were not as plump and moist as we like. All flavors were uninspired, including bland dragonfruit whiskey sour.

Joe P.

Yelp
One should not overlook the oft overlooked Burmese cuisine - the Kyay oh (for me, akin to a Burmese Pho), the samosas, the meatballs, the incredible and crunchy salads... One of the best Asian restaurants in Portland (where sushi is overrated, pho is great but lodged in the burbs, and Korean is only KBBQ).

Fraya S.

Yelp
I did not know what I was expecting before coming here. I have had my fair share of SE Asian restaurants in Portland, and being one myself I guess I had some bias. They serve pretty much Americanized version of Burmese food. I ordered garlic noodles with chicken. It comes with a side of broth, which is the norm. However, I could not taste anything other than salty. It tasted a little flat, I wish there was more kick to it. Burmese tea is just tea with milk, which is okay. I am not sure if it's worth $4 for a small amount of tea. Anyway, the ambiance and decorations are amazing. They also have a robot waiter like in Asia. The server must have had a bad day something, they could use a little smile when talking to customer. Considering the location of this restaurant, I was expecting a friendlier service. The server does not bring your food to your table, they use automatic tray with wheels. I think this makes up for the food. I also super appreciate the spoon and fork by default! We SE Asians rarely eat rice with chopsticks, so I give a star for this :) only a few other SE Asian restaurants I have been to give spoon and fork.

Tyler G.

Yelp
I paid for terrible food and service so you don't have to. First off, the good: the interior was delightfully decorated, and the cocktails and tea leaf salad were on point. The clever turmeric martini had me hopeful for the meal. The tea leaf salad was likewise a hit, full of flavor and texture. But that's where it ends. The bad: pale yellow mango lassis that tasted primarily of yoghurt with a distant hint of a dim memory of the flavor of mango. Garlic noodles with so much fresh cracked pepper on them the garlic was completely lost. "House special" chicken meatballs that arrived cold and pink inside. And a coconut curry completely devoid of flavor served over hard, dry 1cm nuggets of theoretically-braised beef. All of this compounded by the fact that the restaurant was clearly understaffed for a holiday weekend Friday night during a heat wave. Our waters were filled once at the beginning of the meal, our meals took 40 minutes to arrive, and when it did, it arrived by the novelty robot unaccompanied by a server. I didn't know if we were supposed to take the food off it ourselves, as I had only seen it arrive at a table with a server in tow. The ugly: I personally feel so terrible sending food back that I rarely do it. Tonight I sent back the beef and the garlic noodles. I complained about the mango lassi and the meatballs but didn't feel right sending them back as they were ordered by our kids, who can sometimes be finicky eaters. The server comped us the uneaten garlic noodles, but only comped 1/2 of the price of the Dinty Moore braised beef stew. Which I guess was fair as I had eaten half of it in hopes of finding a silver lining in the brown gravy. But I've never seen a restaurant comp half of a meal. And there was no further effort to remediate our experience, just a wan apology delivered with a weary blank stare. I gather they were just happy to see me and my family leave their establishment. I have to say the feeling was mutual. Giving two stars because there were some great items on the menu and I did dig the interiors but the overall experience was one I will not be repeating even if I find myself starving to death north of Lovejoy someday.

Melissa L.

Yelp
My husband is born and raised in Burma, I've eaten authentic Burmese food with him. I think the most disappointing was the tea leaf salad, it was mostly lettuce, couldn't taste the tea leaf. The beef curry was very good though. I guess we had high expectations.

Angie W.

Yelp
The food here is amazing! These two photo were from two separate visits- my roommates and I thoroughly enjoyed the first visit, which is why we came back the second time! Both times we got the tea leaf salad (not pictured) and it's a perfect combination of crunchy, fresh, and savory. Also, the mango juice, is super refreshing, so definitely order it! The restaurant interior is decorated super cute with lots of greenery, plants, and themed decor. The service is amazing- our food came out in a timely fashion. 10/10, would definitely recommend!!

Norman C.

Yelp
If you love Southeastern Asian cuisine such as Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Filipino, Cambodian, or Laotian food. Burmese food should be very close on your radar! I love Burmese food and I wished we had it more readily accessible on the East Coast. I came here on a Monday evening with two friends for dinner. My friends being Portland locals, have been here a few times and left with good impressions. I was pretty excited to try this place out as it's been a while since I had good burmese cuisine. My standards were high since I've only had good experiences with the Burmese restaurants in the Bay area. The service was good, it was surprisingly pretty busy for a Monday night. The shop is also assisted by server robots that roll out your meals to the table. There is also a service bell on the table, should you seek attention from one of the servers. What we ordered: Tea Leaf Salad Kyay Oh Tea Leaf Chicken Curry Golden Hill Noodles Burmese Iced Tea (w/ coconut milk) My review will only be on the Tea Leaf Salad and on the Tea Leaf Chicken Curry as that was what I had. The Tea Leaf Salad is a MUST! I am not a big salad person, but the tea leaf salad is the only exception! It is vegetarian friendly as they use only fermented tea leaves, tomatoes, cabbage, roasted peanuts, sesame seeds, chickpea, and fried garlic. I believe some places incorporate shrimp paste in their salad, but not at this place! The salad here did not disappoint! It was definitely a dish that can easily be shared with 3-4 people. The tea leaf chicken curry was tender and cooked well. The flavor is outstanding and it mixes well with their rice. I would recommend this if you love Southeastern curries! I also had their Burmese Iced Tea. You can get it with milk or dairy free substitute (coconut milk) for those lactose conscious. It's a good subtlety sweet tea that accompanies well with the curry that I had during dinner. I would recommend coming here and would look forward to coming back the next time I'm in town!

Kimberly S.

Yelp
Absolutely outstanding restaurant the food is so health consciously prepared and absolutely delicious. The green tea leaf salad is a must an absolute must most dishes are large enough for people to share them. Kevin was the most genuine patient waiter his attention to customer service. It's definitely highly recommended and a must eat at restaurant in Portland. Ask for Kevin is your waiter. He's just amazing.

Miki M.

Yelp
Always a delight dining here. I've been to other locations but this is the first time I've been to this location. The menu differs slightly from the one in Beaverton, so it was great to try something new. The Green Tea Leaf Salad is one of my favorite salads of all time, it's that good! Plus the robot servers are so fun to interact with. I didn't know this but the Jasmine tea is complimentary, so we got one pot of it. I went ahead and ordered the Punn They Khao Soi, the noodles were well coated in the curry sauce and the flavor was not overpowering.

Nikki M.

Yelp
Service and ambiance are good. However, it is evident that the level of flavor and spice has been adjusted for the typical westerner's palate. Some of the dishes were also too salty for our group.

Meike J.

Yelp
This was our 1st time here. It's a pretty small place, we came here on a Saturday and didn't have to wait to get a table. We went to this Burmese place with no standard because we have never had Burmese food before. There were a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. We started with the Tofu Tots and the Samosas. For entrees we got the Kyay Oh, the Jackfruit Curry, and the Punn They Noodles- everything was delicious! The dishes aren't overly huge, but appropriately portioned. The restaurant was clean and I really loved all the plants throughout the place. The service was prompt and friendly. I loved that the food and drinks were delivered by a robot. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Tricia K.

Yelp
Atmosphere looked fantastic, but we hadn't made reservations so were seated at a street-side picnic table. Food was disappointing: the tea leaf salad was notably missing the fermented tea leaves, making it a VERY expensive romaine salad. It did have some tasty crunchy bits and a half decent dressing, but it wasn't a traditional Burmese tea leaf salad. My friends split a dish; one liked it enough and the other found it meh. Spring rolls were okay. None of us left feeling inspired to return.

Krystal F.

Yelp
OMG this restaurant is FANTASTIC! The place is pretty small but I have always been able to get a table. Service is great... made better by the robots on staff. Do yourself a favor and get the tealeaf salad. Most things on the menu can be made vegetarian or vegan. I have enjoyed everything I have ordered here and cannot wait to go back!

Anthony C.

Yelp
Never tried Burmese food before, but this was a mix of Thai. It tasted great and I really loved the salad bowl. The curries were unique and tasty too. If you haven't tried this type of food before I highly recommend it in the interior inside, was I placing an enjoyable. They even have a robot serving your table, so be kind to him or her!

Maggie D.

Yelp
Had the mango chicken, was delicious, flavorful, but not spicy, ( I don't like spicy). good atmosphere, quiet and relaxing. Polite staff and loved the robot (nano?) delivered our drinks and our meal, even the robot gave us a smile when we finished getting our food. Had a great lunch and will come again. Sorry was so surprised by the robot and was too busy eating, I forgot to take pictures... next time...

Stephanie T.

Yelp
We visited on a busy night between Xmas and new years, and the 2 front of the house staff (who were waiting tables, hosting, AND making the drinks ) were absolutely slammed, but they did their absolute best to get everyone their food and drinks in good order. The food was great, the 'vacation drinks' were the bomb, the staff were busting their butts, and I'd give the place 5 stars except for 2 things: 1. The owners should know better than to be so understaffed during the holiday season and 2. The outdoor heat lamps were almost useless. We had to sit outside despite getting on the advance waitlist, and we were soooo cold. Get stronger ones!

Isabelle S.

Yelp
A staple and for a great reason. The khao soi with tofu is my favorite but everything i've had is amazing! The robot servers are also so precious

Grace C.

Yelp
Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, Top Burmese is the all-inclusive SE Asian fusion you didn't know you needed in life. With multiple locations in town, each location features its own specials along with a staple menu available at all places. Located on NW 23rd, this cozy eatery has outdoor and indoor dining (if you sit inside they also use robots to deliver their food!). We ordered the shoo share tea leaf salad, papawdi coconut beef curry, majesty noodle soup, and punn they noodles. The highlights of the meal were the shoo share tea leaf salad and the punn they noodles. The salad was spicy, and the fermented tea may seem a bit off putting at first, but it made the salad so fragrant and added an earthiness that complemented so well with the ingredients. The nuts and seeds elevated the textures all the more. Highly recommend this dish! It's the perfect size for sharing! The beef was tender in the curry; it was spicy, and had a bit of zest from the lime, balancing the flavors. It was just comfort. The majesty noodle soup is the perfect fall soup! The soup was so flavorful and the vermicelli soaked up the soup welll! The wood ear mushrooms and bamboo shoots were a nice texture contrast to the soft noodles. The punn they noodles were so fragrant! The noodles were al dente, and the five spices and curry sauce were a harmonious play that I didn't know could exist. Top Burmese does fusion well and the food speaks for itself. Don't overlook this quaint eatery next time you're in the area!

Yelp
Food was delicious, ambiance was beautiful, servers were fine, the robot who delivered your food was cute however we did have to grab a server to tell us what one item was. The robot delivers but if you don't know what your items look like, in our case a side sipping broth which we didn't know if it was a dressing or a soup, it has a disconnect. Overall we enjoyed our time, once we figured everything out.

Yelp
The food was sooo good. We went as a large group and probably tried half the menu and every single dish was amazing. I'll be getting the samosas and the garlic noodles when I go back.

Yelp
The interior design was immaculate. The menu had many options, but I had to stick to the classic garlic noodles. The portions were big enough to make it into two meals. When I went me and my buddy were the only table and the server was great. Zack was helpful when we had questions with the menu, and extremely friendly (give him a raise). If this restaurant is on your prospective list, it is a solid option.

Yelp
We liked the food; they were a bit slammed (a lot of places were closed for the 4th, but Top Burmese remained open - yay), so the service was kind of on the slow side, but the staff was kind and apologetic, so no worries there. Favorites: the samosas (totally vegan; light and crispy on the outside, well-balanced spice-veg-filling on the inside) and the mango chicken curry. The beef curry is their signature dish - it's delicious, but not quite as nuanced/tasty as the mango chicken. Garlic noodles were fine, but I would probably not bother ordering them again. Lots of other, more interesting things to tackle on the menu. We'll be back.

Yelp
This was the second time we dined with this company (we ate at their other location, Top Burmese, just a few days prior, and really enjoyed their food). This location was much larger and a little more upscale than the other, as the interior was more carefully and ornately decorated. It also had a slightly different menu than the first, which we really enjoyed because we were able to try a bunch of new items. We tried their green tea leaf salad, which was a very funky, but delicious salad, with sautéed and seasoned tea leaves, and lots of crunch, coming from pepitas, roasted chickpeas, sesame seeds, fried garlic, and peanuts. It's definitely not your traditional salad, but I really enjoyed its uniqueness, and it was my favorite dish of the night. I would highly recommend trying it! We also tried their yellow chickpea tofu nuggets, which were wonderfully seasoned, with a crisp bite to their outer shell, as well as their Burmese tofu curry with coconut rice, mango chicken curry, and garlic noodles with tofu. All of their dishes were tasty, however, like the other location, all of their food was just WAY too salty. I needed to eat a lot of rice and drink a lot of water to be able to swallow their food, and I think they would have all been even more delicious with much less salt. After a while, it was hard to continue eating the food because it was SO salty. However, despite the food's excessive saltiness, we still had a good experience. The servers were great and the robot server was a cute addition to the restaurant as well. I would recommend Burma Joy because it still is a very nice restaurant, just beware of the salt!
