Their honey chicken wings are amazing!! As well as their pepper steak. Customer service and the way they speak to people needs a lot of work.

Great quality, it was about $11 for large shrimp fried rice, and a large portion, I'm not from here but great job Top China.

Honestly this food is like if God personally made it every time I order. ESPECIALLY the steamed dumplings, haven’t had dumplings as good as theirs anywhere else. The fried wontons are also amazing. I usually get sweet and sour or honey chicken to go with my dumplings and those are always fantastic too. Customer service isn’t great but honestly I’d rather the food be good than the people being nice. Top tier Chinese food, doesn’t get any better than this.

I ordered vegetable fried rice. The rice was leftover fried rice with vegetables added. This place is not consistent. Some days the food is good other days it is not. One thing is consistent the price. I will not pay top prices for leftover food

We stopped to pick up some dinner on a long drive home. We got our food within 10 minutes, it was alot of food, hot and fresh and it was really yummy.

A good wing spot. There is not a lot of room for groups or dining in. It's More like a waiting area. Calling ahead may help.

Almost no meat, all onions. This is absurd. I’ve been coming to Top China for YEARS. And have never experienced anything like this. Highly disappointed

Ordered here one evening. I could tell by the line outside that I was in for an experience. Although the line was long, inside the doors of the restaurant, everything went efficiently. I would not mind sitting down and eating inside because the vibe was really dope. I got the General Tso's Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, and Vegetable Lo Mein. Everything was excellent. It was so good that I saved half my meal for lunch the next day. In East Montgomery, this place should be a go-to for Chinese.

Food tastes like burnt plastic...second time in a row. The food didn't look good and the smell of burnt plastic made you not want to eat it

For Montgomery, Alabama Top China is the way to go. I grew up and live in larger metropolitan areas and finding a restaurant at this caliber is hard! The menu is like a journal; categorized by the types of meats, specialties and chef's picks. The quantities are large and plentiful and a flavor bomb. What's fantastic is how they have their food ordering down to a science. There's no frills; just order, get your food and enjoy. There's no sit down service, it's a take-out joint with tables for you to dine at but 100%, you'll have food to take home. Top China -- Montgomery's Chinese Scratch Kitchen!!

Don't get me wrong, both inside and outside look like a hole in the wall but if you know good food, you know that hole in the wall restaurants have the BEST food. Top China is no exception. Their online ordering system is great and very easy to navigate. Although my food wasn't ready yet 45 minutes after ordering online, they still had it out pretty quick after I arrived (5 minutes to be exact). I can imagine they wait to make/prepare/plate the food until you get there so that it doesn't get cold. Their website is great and super easy to navigate. They also have a credit card surcharge of $.50 which is pretty disappointing but not a deal breaker. Good to know though!

The honey wings were my fave, the orange chicken and rice were also very good. I recommend ordering ahead and picking, otherwise you'll be waiting a good little bit (the food was hot though!) The only thing I absolutely did not like was the sweet tea...it had a stale, odd taste to it as if it was made with dirty water or something. Gross. Everything was great, will definitely return!

For a random stop after a trip to 30A this place was phenomenal! I was craving Chinese takeout food and this place exceeded all expectations. Remember this is a hole in the wall and not a fancy place but don't let that fool you.. the food was super tasty, portions were more than generous and the staff was very helpful. I had the lunch combo of pork egg, foo Young with an egg roll and fried rice. The egg roll is a cabbage roll. There's nothing else in it, but cabbage. See photo The fried rice was extremely greasy and nothing in it but a few onions, pork egg foo young was OK, but again, very very greasy. I would not eat here again.

This is my new favorite place for Chinese Food. I have only been here once and I'm glad I went. All credit to my husband for finding a restaurant in Montgomery. We were on our way home from visiting my in-laws. I guess I should have called ahead to make sure they offered dine in but it's fine. They are only accepting take out. I'm not sure if they offer delivery. The restaurant is located in a shopping center but let the appearance fool you, everything I tried is delicious. I am extremely picky when it comes to fried rice and this place is the best I have ever had. I'm not exaggerating. I'm already planning my next visit. I ordered pork fried rice with bean sprouts, extra, extra, extra eggs. Yes, I love eggs in my rice and sadly this place does not add any eggs at all in their fried rice dishes. The fried rice is perfectly seasoned so no need to ask for the soy sauce packets. The egg rolls are also very good. I would highly recommend this place but be prepared to devour your food in your car if you're visiting from out of town or just starving and can't wait to get home. LOL

It has been 9 years since I visited the first time . Went back last year and food was still as good. I should have given them 4 stars then so I'm an attempt to make up for that ...

The quality has decreased significantly. Very, very disappointing. Ordered the sweet and sour chicken, pork with Chinese vegetables, steamed dumplings, egg rolls, pork fried rice, shrimp lo mein, and pepper steak with onions (although I was given the wrong item). $72 later ... all of the items were excessively salty and had very little to no flavor except for the extremely heavy salt taste. This is the first time that their food was terrible. Hopefully this is an isolated case of a temporary chef who did a horrible job.

Best Chinese food ever every time I stop in Montgomery I have to get the sesame chicken as for Covid they had it set up where you place your orders outside but it's always worth the wait and service is good but the is even better.

Gotta love "em! I love their fried rice- pork or shrimp. I can get full just by ordering a bunch of shrimp egg rolls-l! It's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. You will have to ignore the grease trap odor (that's how you know it's good) and take it to go. They are very efficient in service, just call ahead and you won't have to wait.

Food and service is great. Didn't know you can only order at a window, but my food was really good. I love how they gave me a huge plate for cheap !

Have gone there for about a year. Service has gone down. When they omitted items they just said sorry and did nothing to remedy. They also changed cooks or recipes. Of the last 3 orders there was no continuity. Not going back again. almost forgot...when I looked at the receipt...they charged a service charge????? Who does that????

Their Lo Mein is so so delicious! They are very fast and the food is always hot and fresh. Their fried rice is delicious and before I stopped eating meat I used to always get their Honey Chicken and LetMeTellYou! So so good!

I was looking for something good to eat on a Friday night and stumbled onto this place. There was a line down the street! I looked up the number and called in an order, waited for the line to get smaller and came to the realization that I was going to stand in line in the cold irregardless of how long I waited. Interesting they don't take your name, they just give you a number that you have to remember. The price was really good and the portions generous. I had the sweet and sour chicken and it came with fried rice and an egg roll, so good. The take home containers were really nice, definitely good for left overs. Ps. I didn't look at the menu before I ordered.....IT'S HUGE! I have it on my list to try their mooshoo pork which many small places don't have. There is no indoor dining because of Covid but common, take home Chinese is a ritual. I will be back!

Delicious! Just your normal, regular neighborhood chinese food place. They make your food to order I believe. Their prices are affordable as well. Sometimes the employees will look tired and are not as friendly, BUT please remember this is a family business! They work very hard everyday of the week or at least majority of the time.

Filthy front of house, including toilets. Wife got cashew chicken and it had about three cashews in it She was supposed to have gotten fried rice. We're not sure what the rice was. Plenty of vegetables on it. She has a strong ability to ferret out MSG and it was one of the first things she noticed. I got sesame shrimp, broccoli with white rice. The plate was full and meal was okay. I am highly sensitive to MSG and left the restaurant with a burgeoning headache and building irritation in my gut. It's not going to be a good night. I picked up some mustard packets. The mustard was not the normal consistency of mustard, so am not sure it was actual mustard. 2/10. Will not eat there again.

The food has flavor. Love their house special fried rice. They serve it nice and hot. I am planning to try some of the other dish advertised .

Had the sweet and sour chicken, fried rice and egg roll . Food was ok. Portion was good. Sauce was good, but nothing special compared to other places in town. Don't understand why they want open up to dine in. Seem to be more than enough people inside to dine in. I won't go back till I can dine in as other nearby places are dine in.

I was on a business trip staying at a hotel near by. I found this place because of the Montgomery County sheriffs dept. I saw them parked in front of the restaurant, and as I got closer, saw them getting carry out food. If there is one thing I've learned in my travels, it is eat where local law enforcement eats - they know! I was not disappointed. I got the usual hot and sour soup to test the bench mark. It was excellent. I wanted to go back the next day, but had to leave town earlier than they opened. I will be trying more menu options the next time in town. The other reviewers got it right. They were constantly busy taking phone and walk in orders. My order was done very quickly of course because of what I ordered. There were orders smoothly coming out of the kitchen and it was quite entertaining to watch the many cooks flying around the open kitchen. I would recommend this location to all even with my small sampling thus far.

Your restaurant is WAY too hot. Turn on your A/C. Leave it on all night so that it will cool. Winter temp is a cool 72 and in the summer a cool 68 temp.

We decided to give this place a try because it was in close proximity to the hotel we were staying. We ordered from the lunch specials and it was definitely worth the price. I've had Chinese food from other places and I always compare it to what I was used to in Hawaii. This place comes the closest to the taste that I'm used to. I ordered the shrimp and broccoli and I must say that the shrimp huge and not the small itsy bitsy shrimp you'd get from other places. I'll place will definitely be in take out rotation

Great cheap Chinese and easy to make vegan. They do t use Fish Sauce and they don't put eggs in their fried rice.

I called my order in, lady at front got it wrong so I waited extra 20 minutes. The lunch special is 5.25. She charged me 6.60 for cash but when she saw card, she said $6.80. Other people who ordered same dish charged 5.80. Took her sweet time giving me my food after cooks eat it at front. Won't be going back and will be reporting because you can't overcharge whenever you want.

Fast service and very affordable price. But some of the menu items are not very authentic or tasty. I still like to go there for a quick bite at an affordable price.

Best Chinese food I've found in Montgomery. I always get the honey wings and house fried rice. Their portions are always plenty enough especially for the $ spent. Their tea & lemonade is a hit too. This place is IT for any night where I don't know exactly what I want to eat & can't make my mind up.

Food was good! Portion sizes were large and price was reasonable. The restaurant was HOT though. The chef cooking at the end nearest the cash register was sweating through his T-shirt - which was a bit unappetizing. This would have been better as a take-out meal instead of a sit down dinner. We grabbed to go boxes a few bites in because we were so uncomfortable in the heat!

Really great hidden gem. We stopped here on our drive back home and we were looking for a quick stop near gas. It didn't look busy but there was a steady stream of people in & out. I got the sesame chicken and husband got the chicken Lo mein. We each ordered a hot & sour soup and they were fantastic! We haven't had orange or sesame chicken that good in a long time. The people were friendly and it looks to be family owned and operated. There is a small cash discount too- I think we got about $2 off but overall, dinner for 2 under $20. Would 100% recommend.

I eat here a lot. Very fast preparing the food. I usually get Sesame Chicken or Cashew Chicken and enjoy both tremendously. From memory, this location has been here for many years. Employees are very businesslike. One particular gentleman will take an order at counter, grab phone and take order and direct something with the cooks all at the same time. Some may think rude, I think efficient.

I was driving through AL and stopped at a hotel near this gem. I had the shrimp lo mein and it was honestly the best I have ever eaten. They used high-quality shrimp and there was plenty of it. The prices were unbelievably low. I will make a point to stop at Top China every time I am in the area.

This is a very good Chinese restaurant in central Alabama. The service of the food was great, but the food was not up to its expectation. The portions of the food are large, but the fried rice was good as I can remember. The Szechuan Chicken was not as spicy. I like how the food was served with real dishes and eating utensils when dining in. Never had ordered take-out, but the seating was convenient for customers wishing to take out Chinese. Overall one of the hidden gems of Montgomery.

Some of the best Chinese I have had in quite a while. I stayed in Montgomery, AL as a means to evacuate hurricane Michael and ordered take out during my stay. It was an enormous amount. 1 order fed two people so I had plenty of left over for the next day! We ordered, fried wings and chicken friend rice, & shrimp fried rice with sweet and sour shrimp. It was all just as good both days. I would come back.

Top China is located by the Brunos over by 110, just off of 85 on the east side of Montgomery. I get my vegetarian chinese take-out from here when I travel to Montgomery for work and stay at the enjoyable nearby Holiday Inn Express. There are many vegetarian options, although most are meat, and the taste is great. The food is SO cheap that you can order a couple of items and make your own hotel-room buffet, if you feel like pampering yourself. Food is fresh, hot, delicious and ample. Egg drop soup is not vegetarian, but the staff can direct you to other options. Call ahead and by the time you drive over it is ready, as they cook quickly. There are able tables there, but most people just use them to wait for their carry out. You can see into the kitchen a bit from the ordering area, and it always looks clean and organized! Update: They do deliver but require a minimum of $15.

If there was a way to give 0 stars, I would. I arrived 30 minutes after I placed my order and there were 2 people in line in front of me. While I was waiting in line 2 more customers walked up and then the cashier just starts calling out random order numbers that were ready. I was confused so I walked up to the window and asked if order #164 was ready yet and he completely ignored me and kept calling out other orders (170-185) that had been placed well after mine. So I was patient and just assumed that maybe mine wasn't ready yet. After 10 mins of watching all of these customers come and go I finally got a chance to ask about my order again only to be told to wait until he's done with the other customers. I was so embarrassed/mad that I decided to leave without my food. While I was otw home I couldn't get over the fact that he completely disregarded me and my time and didn't care what I had to think about it. So I turned around and when I got there and asked for the 3rd time if my order was ready, he tried to ignore me again!!! However, this time I demanded his attention! He then asked if I had paid yet and I told him "No, I haven't because you have completely ignored me 3 different times that I have tried to pay". His response was to read me the total for my order. So I paid and then he gives me the bag that was literally directly beside the register. The bag had been sitting there the entire 30+ mins I had been waiting for him to call my number or at least acknowledge me when I asked 3 times!! I have never in my life experienced such disgusting customer service and I will never spend another dollar at this place. Sorry for the long review but I hope this never happens to anyone else!

I'm always coming here to get a to go order. Their fried rice & chicken wings is the best!!!!! The seafood soup is pretty good too! This restaurant is a must try place.

It's food my kid will eat. It's in a good location, the wait time isn't too long. I can actually order, then go next door to the Publix to to get a short list of shopping done and pick it up fast once I'm done. I don't eat here often, but the staff is friendly and I've never had a problem with my order. As junk food goes, and yes American style Chinese food is junk food, you could always do worse. Order the sesame chicken.
