Famous ‘Top Gun’ House Transforms High-Pie Shop in Oceanside | Eater San Diego

"Immortalized in the first Top Gun film as the oceanfront home of Charlotte “Charlie” Blackwood, I note the historic Graves House retains the nostalgic charm of a Victorian cottage built in the 1880s. Relocated from its original spot down the street, the compact 500-square-foot house was restored as a feature of the pierside Mission Pacific Hotel and the Seabird Resort complex." - Candice Woo

As a traveler and a pilot, visiting the Top Gun House was a unique experience. The place instantly takes you back to the movie vibes — right by the ocean, with an atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re part of the film. I tried their famous High-Pie 🍓🫐🍏 (strawberry, blueberry, and apple) and it was extremely delicious — especially with coffee. The staff were super friendly, and having the view of the ocean right in front just made it even better. ✈️ For every Top Gun fan, this spot is a must-visit. It’s not just about dessert, it’s about living the movie experience. Highly recommended! 🔥👌

Charming little cottage style home with an Ocean View that was used in the Tom Cruise movie, Top Gun. Years ago when we visited Oceanside, it was boarded up and fenced off. I love how the developers decided to update the property and leave it as a part of the hotel. The inside is decorated with lovely vintage and antique items interspersed with pictures and memorabilia from the movie. Currently, a company called High Pie is selling delicious little hand held pies out of the house (see my separate review on High Pie and their pastries).

I love coming to the Top Gun house. The pies are delicious. Today they were already sold out of the the apple so I ended up getting blueberry, cherry and strawberry rhubarb. The last time I went, we had ice cream with it. The boys ordered the whoopie pie and a brownie. The decor is phenomenal and everyone always gathers to take pictures on the motorcycle. A cute little snack while you take a walk in the pier.

An absolute must for any fans of the movie Top Gun to visit! The house is decorated in so much movie memorabilia and just looks super cute. The pies are really tasty as well with both regular and seasonal options. I am a fan of the pie a la mode. It's also right by the water so you can have a nice view while enjoying your pie!

A scene from another era where the beach houses ruled and Top Gun was becoming a household name. They've done well to keep up its appearance, and for added enjoyment, you can get a little pie. Mavs replica bike out the makes it that much more special. Parking is annoying, but there is a lot about a 5-minute walk away. Great to add to your Top Gun adventure through San Diego.

A must see if you are a Top Gun fan! It's a quick in and out through the house and they sell yummy desserts too! The fresh whoopie pie was delicious 🤤

Cute little house that's a tourist attraction and worth a quick stop for photo op on the motorcycle outside. We just had lunch down the street and were too full to buy anything at this shop while we were there. It wasn't too busy on a Sunday afternoon.

Fun to see the iconic house and the pies are delicious 😋 Plenty of seating, a must do if at the beach in Oceanside!
