Google
This is a great place to go and get an awesome view and a couple of drinks. You can see the whole city from up here. They have really good drinks and the service is awesome. I would have to say they could have a little more interesting food and the fact that they should not let kids up in a bar 21 and up. With the said though it is an awesome experience if you have not done it.

While staying at the hotel, we visited Top of the Hyatt, and the views were incredible. It was crowded, so we had to wait for a table, but it was worth it to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. It can get pretty loud because of the number of people, but we still enjoyed our time there. We didn’t eat, though the food we saw looked very good. Despite being busy, the service was attentive.

Google
Top of the Hyatt was the perfect spot for our wedding welcome party with about 110–120 guests. The bar had amazing vibes, delicious drinks, and top-tier service from start to finish. Our guests were blown away by the views—even at night—and the seasonal dive bar theme with games added such a fun, unexpected twist. The atmosphere was classy but relaxed, and the staff made sure everything ran smoothly. It was a total hit and a fabulous spot to host an event. Highly recommend!

Google
I had a fantastic experience at Top of the Hyatt! The drinks were absolutely top-notch. I tried their espresso martini with tequila, and it was delicious — the perfect balance of rich coffee flavor and a smooth kick from the tequila. My husband went with a classic Manhattan, and he was equally impressed. The service was excellent, with attentive servers making sure we had everything we needed. The bartenders are truly skilled at crafting great cocktails, and the view from the top was just the cherry on top of a wonderful evening. Highly recommend for a night out with great drinks and an amazing atmosphere!

Google
The service was good and a great view, the Amaretosouer was $20 I think a fair price for the view.

Google
"Top of the Hyatt has one of the best views in San Diego! The cocktails are great, the atmosphere is classy but relaxed, and it’s the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset over the bay. The staff is attentive and friendly, which makes the experience even better. A must-visit if you want good drinks with an amazing view."

Google
I went twice in my week stay at the Hyatt, and thoroughly enjoyed both visits! The atmosphere really makes the experience. I liked the seasonal menu and decorations. If I lived in town I could see myself coming back as those changed. Service was good and so were the drinks, were run a bit pricy for the quality of alcohol, but you are paying for the view, which is worth it!

Google
A tad pricey but we’re at the top of the Hyatt you know? Food was great ! Super cute in there - more of like an Alice in wonderland vibe. It was easy to get a table, although they accept reservations, be sure to make one ! The view… superb!!!!

Yelp
TOUR, stopping in Seaport Village!!! We had as our TOUR GUIDES James and Pam, who were both terrific!!! We started at 11:00 AM. It was a bright, beautiful day. It was on the warmer side too. When we got to Seaport Village, we got off to get a BAGEL @ SPILL THE BEANS!!! While we ate, we talked about the FORTIETH FLOOR of the Hyatt Regency HOTEL. We each had some memories. We decided to go up, and it was worth it. VIEWS FOR DAYS!!! 365!!!

Yelp
Stopped by for the evening as a guest at the hotel. It was a little frustrating because they were out of everything I ordered. One perk is as a guest of the hotel you do get a credit. I got the fig flat bread, red wine and chocolate cake. Pricey and the flat bread was fine. Had decent sauce. Would return only for the credit.

Yelp
Came here for Girl Dinner with one of my besties. On the 40th floor of the Hyatt, you will get one of the best views of DTSan Diego, the harbor, and sunset over the Pacific. Drinks were solid. Food was exquisite (we had the charcuterie board and the crab/jalapeño dip). Presentation overall was excellent. Love the quotes on the windows!

Yelp
I came here for the views when I was in college, but now they have the flower installation, which is really pretty during the spring! More recently, we came here during the holidays last year and I ran into my sis-in-law and niece lol. We just had a mocktail, a glass of wine, and shared some charcuterie. Definitely a nice place to go on a date or take some people from out of town, as the view is very nice.

Yelp
I love the Top of the Hyatt! I discovered it several years ago quite by accident, having booked at the Grand Manchester Hyatt for work travel. But since then, anytime I take someone to San Diego, we have to go for drinks at the Top of the Hyatt. It goes without saying, the views are spectacular. Nearly 360-degrees, you can see the entire Mission Bay, and most of the city itself. Depending on where you sit, you might even catch an incredible sunset over the bay. But what I really love are the iconic quotes you'll find stencilled on many of the windows. My favorite? "Excuse me while I kiss the sky," Jimi Hendrix. The staff are friendly, and the bar is well-stocked. We enjoyed a couple of nice beers (they have light options and some more crafty ones too), and took in the view for a little bit as a nice transition from daytime exploring to evening relaxation. Why only 4 stars? Like many places in SD and other cities, the Top of the Hyatt charges a 6% surcharge they claim is due to the increased cost of doing business and hiring employees in San Diego. Well, increases to the cost of doing business are NORMAL, and what HONEST businesses do is wrap that overhead into the advertised prices of their goods and services. Honest businesses don't just add that on after you've already left a healthy gratuity, and then point to a little 6"x6" sign in the hallway that allegedly advised you of their hidden fee. But anyway! The food and drinks there really are splendid, and the ambiance makes it a wonderful place to take your special person or business partner for a relaxing end to your day. Check it out!

Yelp
A perfect place to hide away from the world while enjoying an aerial view of it. Decided to drop in after attending Wonderfront. It was a perfect escape to rest a bit before heading home. The drinks were strong and just what I needed . Service was excellent and the place was super comfy. Not busy at all. Compared to the hotel lobby bar, it's an ideal spot to not worry about being spotted lol. I'll be back again soon.

Yelp
About what you'd expect for a rooftop cocktail lounge although I've heard they decorate it really well for the holidays so I'd want to come back for that. This time when we went it had a "dive bar" theme which is odd considering they normally give a more upscale vibe. We came around 9:30 with a group of 4 and we couldn't find a table but there were lots of places to stand and mingle. We all got the espresso martini for $19. It was STRONG. Like almost a bit too much to make it enjoyable but I guess you get good bang for your buck. View at night isn't super great. I'd probably want to come back during the day when I can see outside.

Yelp
Wildly overpriced. 8 espresso Martinis was $300 and they use cold brew. The views are amazing but for that price get a hotel room and make your own drinks

Yelp
Romantic ambience above San Diego. I'll be eager to view the new additions next year.

Yelp
We visited Top of the Hyatt on Thanksgiving weekend during our stay at the Grand Hyatt San Diego. We visit this hotel very often, but this was the first time I learned that there is a Top of the Hyatt inside the building. The bar was very cozy, with cute decorations like Christmas trees, snow-covered window dividers, bunk bed seats, and all the lighting. It really surprised me with its stunning view of the City of San Diego, the SD Harbor, and the Ocean. I went up twice: once in the morning just to check out the spot, and again in the evening after dinner. I ordered the NA Mistletoe Martini ($16), and it was very delicious! The service was excellent! Our waiter was super nice and friendly. We really enjoyed the atmosphere here a lot! We will definitely recommend Top of the Hyatt to our friends!

Yelp
Lovely views and kind servers and bartenders. Very overpriced drinks. I'm used to paying expensive cocktails at high end restaurants in San Diego which is usually in the $20+ range. But here the house Merlot was $32 for 4 oz pour, and I got my daughter a lemonade and was charged as "mocktail" for $17 before taxes. The only drink that was ok priced was my French Martini for $27.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for years. I finally got the opportunity Friday night. I took a Lyft from Gaslamp. It was about $6 from AKA. We got to the elevator and you touch 40th floor restaurants. I was happy as we were the only people in the elevator then all of the sudden a line formed inside. lol. Everyone was going to the Top of the Hyatt bar. It was close to 7PM and the place was packed! We were lucky to get the table in front of the bar and within 5 mins got a window side table! There are no reservations so it's first come first serve. They had plenty of bartenders and a special drink menu for the holidays. My wife got the Mocktail - Mistletoe and it was very good and not to sweet. I ordered a Cadillac Margarita for myself along with the free secret word shots which were mint vodka shots. They do not accept cash here. Both drinks were about $40. The Caddy was perfect and the shots were very strong. They used Tito's as the vodka which was a great surprise for free shots. The atmosphere was very festive and had a live singer as well. This was a great time and we stayed for about 90 mins. We saw many people show up and just left since there was no seats lefts. The bartender told me that typically the Friday and Saturday before Xmas is the busiest time. So that makes sense. I will definitely be back during the regular season. This is not a place for anyone looking for cheap drinks. All the drinks were about $20+ which is about the norm for roof top bars and clubs.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and Leonard and Angel were our bartenders and they were AMAZING! The drinks were SO good, they were so fast and helpful and truly so kind? They made us want to come back just to chat with them! Definitely a highlight of our trip!
google avatar

Yelp
Honestly it's just too packed. It's so small and we also assumed it would have been like an open rooftop kinda place( I know that is on us for not researching). Very VERY minimal seats only worth it if your the first (maybe) 20-30 people there. Once all the other guests at night want to go it's hot and crowded. The elevators were also super stuffy on the way up and down from top of the Hyatt. We couldn't even get to the bar area with how busy it was. Ambiance is very nice (again if your the first couple of guests there). Didn't get to try the food or service.
google avatar

Walter Dale D.

Yelp
I like this idea compared to a normal day trip. Hyatt is known worldwide for it amazing amenities and a more than normal stay for the higher hotel room rate. There are great prices on Hyatt rooms but you'll normally have to pay a little more. This restaurant and drink lounge is a great place if you are staying at the hotel or happen to have the hotel for a conference or event.
google avatar

Cela G.

Yelp
Angel and Leonardo were the best bartenders!! Angel was so attentive even tho it was a busy night and Leonardo even brought us some nuts to eat while we waited for drinks!! Not only was the service the best but the views were exceptional!! I'd recommend coming during sunset for the best pics. It was a pretty busy day but everyone was being served on time. This was a nice bar with okay prices ranging from 10-18 bucks for drinks. Light appetizers to enjoy. Parking is the same in San Diego pay as you park. There's a bunch of restaurants around here. But start here is my recommendation!!

Yelp
08/11/24 ~ 7PM We parked nearby in a parking lot between the Hyatt and Seaport Village. Walked in, and went to the elevator area. When taking the elevator, you would need to enter into a screen via restaurants for Floor 40 - Top of the Hyatt. There are no buttons for floors besides opening and closing inside the elevators. The views are great to check out during sunset/evening. They have a menu for drinks and snacks. Lounge was dimly lit, but looked great for a date night. If you're looking for a place to talk with some friends and enjoy some conversation, this is the place (though it is a tad pricey!). They have 2 that they can make virgin - Imperial Beach and Balboa Park. I got the virgin Imperial Beach. Liang got Banker's Hill which was similar to an old-fashioned that he normally orders. I forgot what my girlfriend R ordered. Pricing for cocktail is around ~$26-$27. So price have definitely risen from older reviews (2016 - 2017). Our total for 3 people came out to ~$84 with tip; we each ordered a cocktail. Service was fast in the beginning, after you sit down. The waiter came back and checked on us at least 4-5 times to see if wanted anything else. Towards the end, we went up to the bar to pay. We ended up staying there for around 2-3 hours to chat. Bathrooms were in a hallway between the elevators and the entrance to the Top of the Hyatt. Our parking ended up being around $16 when we left. We may come back if we're ever seeking another view of the the Coronado Bridge or a view of the sunset. We didn't do any reservations and just did walk in. It is first come first serve. We mainly came here for the view.
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
Drinks are average in taste, but expensive in price!! You are paying for the vibes and the view. It's a great space. Not particularly worth, imo.
google avatar

Andrew V.

Yelp
Really expensive, ok service decent view. We were here after a conference with about 12 of us. Now sure that I would come back.
google avatar

Aya E.

Yelp
Ordered: Imperial Beach cocktail (~$24): Mijenta tequila blanco, aperol, pineapple juice, lime juice, passionfruit purée, and simply syrup Crispy Sicilian Beef Arancini (~$21): with house-made tomato sauce, mozzarella, and parmesan Aya's take: It was our last night in SD and we decided to check out the views at the Top of the Hyatt. It was around 9:30pm on a Monday - not busy at all. Despite this, service was unbelievably slow and even the one appetizer we ordered took way too long. By the time we received it, it was cold, the arancini wasn't crispy (yet it's in the name on the menu), and it lacked flavor entirely. The cocktail was pleasant but less enjoyable with all the waiting we had to do beforehand and even after requesting the check. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to check it out.
google avatar

Noopur D.

Yelp
We stayed at the Hyatt for the holidays in San Diego and I didn't want to miss the Christmas lounge here - the decorations and vibes did not disappoint! It was beautifully decorated and fully decked out, but the prices were really high so didn't love that. We shared one cocktail and the flatbread - which was the only veg option - and both were great but that came to literally $50 for two items even with the $10 credit from the hotel. Service was great though and all the staff were very nice and friendly!
google avatar

Josh M.

Yelp
Unlike a lot of hotel bars, this is one that's probably better suited for those not staying at the hotel. If you're staying in a bay view room you're already going to have the same view as the bar. If you set the view aside, the drinks are actually very good. With so many great bars (some within walking distance of this one) in SD I'm not sure I can say you NEED to check this one out, but I also wouldn't warn to to avoid it.
google avatar

Yelp
views, drinks, views .. you must check this place out it you seek unique views of the city skyline .. So picturesque and the themed menu is great. Prices are for sure "top" here too and they offer small plates on menu... just wish they had more food options but understand the concept. This location has huge potential if it ever does full dinner service, maybe soon .. be sure to experience the views here at least once .. perfect for a date or nightcap cocktail after a great dinner nearby ..

Yelp
Always a beautiful and amazing experience to come here! The views are unmatched in almost the entire state of California. The service is on point, and very well orchestrated. The drinks, are phenomenal! My only complaint is how pricey the beverages are, so be prepared to spend a little bit of dough when you come. Is it worth it? Yes it is! It's definitely an amazing treat out with beautiful views and great ambiance, coupled with tasty drinks and delicious bites. BTW, the pepperoni pizza, a must! Also the shrimp cocktail is not to be missed!
google avatar

Sharron G.

Yelp
Stopped in after a movie at the Rooftop Cinema. The view is fantastic. We weren't there to eat, but there were some shareable plates if you're in the mood. The bar looked pretty well stocked, but we were simple and ordered hot chocolates (2 of us with booze and one without). They were quite yummy! The noise level is absolutely horrible up there. They are counting on the flooring and seat cushions to do the noise-dampening, which is *NOT* working. There were only three of us and we were seated fairly close and had a difficult time carrying on a conversation. The seating was comfortable and many different seat options, from couches to barstools. It's a great spot to take out-of-town guests but I wouldn't go regularly, simply because of the noise level. Yes, it was that bad. Thank you for reading my review!
google avatar

Cricket J.

Yelp
They took what was a nice bar atop the Hyatt Manchester and created a very tacky "dive" bar. It looks like it was decorated by a 12 year old.
google avatar

Lien P.

Yelp
The BF took me here to celebrate my birthday and it was such a nice end to the night! I definitely recommend coming here around sunset to take in the views. It is first come first serve so a window seat is definitely trickier to get. Drinks are pricey at around $23 per cocktail but they tasted good! They also serve small bites like Ahi Poke, meat and cheese board, etc. So definitely eat before coming. We got 3 drinks, the Ahi Poke and Churros. All tasted good!
google avatar

Kim R.

Yelp
I love Top of the Hyatt. One of my favorite places to bring guest. Drinks are pricy starting at 20 ish dollars. They have a small menu of shareable foods such as flat bread, crab dip and charcuterie plates. I love the themes they do throughout the year. I was here this past summer for the flower pop up. Staff is nice. After 6pm it is 21+ up only which is nice.

Caoimhe L.

Yelp
A group of us went for a quick drink (1 round) and were floored to find we were being charged $34/cocktail. Not only was there an 18% service fee, but an additional 6% surcharge was added too (24% fees). None of this was disclosed to us. Safe to say we won't be back! Views were stunning however a little more transparency would've been appreciated.

Yelp
Ambiance : Went to see the Christmas holiday decor 2023. We LOVED it. Can't take enough pictures ! The was so festive . Service : Our server was from Ireland ( terribly sorry, I forgot his name). Very helpful, fun, attentive, provided and accommodating. Drinks he recommended were good and of course , in Xmas mugs. Food servings maybe shared between 1-2 p. Tasty and filling. Place was packed, we just walked-in and lucky with the timing . We were able to find seats right away. Wishing we got a table by the window to see the city lights . Parking : hotel parking avail, street parking , metered parking . We took Uber / Lyft .
google avatar

Yelp
Rough night for staff. Completely unprepared for the crowd from Padres and Rady Shell. So the poor service was not their fault. Not enough staff. But the usually good bar food was awful. Bummer I usually love this place.
google avatar

Margaret W.

Yelp
The views from up here can't be beat. I also like to start off with, Campari Soda and some lite bites. Great atmosphere & terrific service!
google avatar

Dano P.

Yelp
I've been here once before during the day and loved the views. This time I forgot about the mystery 6% surcharge and came at night after a near perfect dining experience adjacent to the hotel. I though it would be nice to bring my out of town visiting lady friend here for a nightcap. Our very busy server was a very nice young man. She liked her cocktail but I wasn't thrilled with the views since the windows were reflecting the overly lit lounge. I also wasn't really impressed that the windows weren't that clean, but hey, we were 40 floors up. In conclusion, it's a nice place during the day if you're willing to take it in the shorts price wise for a couple of drinks with someone you like.
google avatar

Tazneen S.

Yelp
The food was amazing and delicious. Service was outstanding 5/5 and the ambiance was beautiful and could see the highest top view of the grand Hyatt top floor hotel. 100% will come back.
google avatar

Justin C.

Yelp
Friendly staff and a plethora of well drinks, combined with the views from atop the Hyatt, makes this place extrememly memorable and unique. From each window you can see San Diego from and what the City has to offer. Plenty of seating and phot ops with quotes on most windows that will have you smiling as you read them. Well worth a visit and a walk around the bar to take all Top of the Hyatt has to offer. Thank you, Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego!
google avatar

Amy C.

Yelp
Great service, view and drinks. We loved visiting here and very convent as it was at our hotel. We enjoyed this place as it was a great view and place to end a day.

Henry S.

Yelp
At night time it just feels like a small enclosed bar, I see other people say it's great during the day but at night it didn't seem like a great place to hang out. Wish it was outdoors with open air.
google avatar

Angie M.

Yelp
Beautiful bar, with great service! We had a glass of wine, and a tequila... quick stop in after hanging out in Seaport and the Headquarters at Seaport. I could have stayed for days with that view. So very peaceful and relaxing. The house chardonnay was delicious!

Vet Y.

Yelp
No minors allowed at the rooftop heads up. But if the bartender or server like you they allow other families with children to stay. I informed the bartender that there were two separate families with minors at the table. "He said they've been here for over an hour " so Age doesn't matter depending how long you've been there. This happened at 615 pm today. The rule should be kept for everyone not selective. We wanted an appetizer. And the two separate families are still there with their minors.
google avatar

Jess B.

Yelp
We stopped in here opening night of their holiday decor and it is absolutely adorable! No detail was missed for the holidays in this small top floor bar space and the staff is happy to take pictures for you. The views are spectacular and span almost a 360 degree view of Coronado, the city, the Bay and beyond. We tried two of their holiday drinks that were pricey (as expected) and surprisingly small in volume. Pictured below for $22 is a FULL size drink that looks like a sip is left because of the glass they chose to serve it in. We did not try the food only the cocktails. Note that this place automatically includes an 18% tip on all bills for all size parties, even if you are just stopping in to grab a drink!
google avatar

Erika N.

Yelp
My hub and I stayed at the Hyatt for our anniversary this year. Upon checking in they let us know our resort fee included $10 (I think) voucher off at the top of Hyatt bar per night so we decided to check it out one night. We came before dinner around 6-7 pm and the place was super busy. We ended up sitting at the bar since all the window spots were taken. The view was pretty, nice cityscape and looking out into the ocean. The drink was good but my only complaint would be the prices. I just didn't think the drinks were unique enough to match the price tag. I can get an espresso martini anywhere. It's definitely a tourist attraction, take that as you will. Great for photos and maybe 1 drink.
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend enjoyed pre dinner drinks at this rooftop bar and we enjoyed the atmosphere, the view and the drinks. Highly recommend for a pre dinner drink or after dinner. There were some fun game tables you could use as well and the crowd wasn't too rowdy.
google avatar

Juel A.

Yelp
Cute bar on the 40th floor. The theme is like an indoor garden with cute little props all around. Drinks were great, Average bar prices. Service was great. We only came in for a few drinks so we did not try the food. The views are amazing Day and Night. They have tables and couches to hang out. It's super cute!
google avatar

Tanner G.

Yelp
Drinks kind be kind of expensive, after all it's in downtown San Diego, and service can be slow. But they do try to get to you as soon as possible. What makes this place worth the visit is the view, you really cant get a better one of the bay.
google avatar

J B.

Yelp
Really good drinks. The service was nice as well and not too loud so you can have a nice conversation. The only thing is the elevator was broken and this is on the 40th floor...
google avatar

Rick D.

Yelp
Had a couple cocktails. It was noisy, noisier than most places. So I didn't relax or enjoy it. Night view wasn't interesting. It was stuffy and felt claustrophobic. Service was adequate:
google avatar

Jeff B.

Yelp
Absolutely a scam- preying on tourists that don't know - and don't know better This was an absolute joke of a Xmas spot- the lights were brighter than an ob gyn evaluation room- and the vibe was just as harsh. This isn't the spot like it was 20 year ago- it's a weak rip off
google avatar

Yelp
The views at the of the Hyatt were amazing, however, the cocktail drinks tasted okay and the cocktail decorations were quite sad. I ordered one of the spring special cocktails and it came out with a slice of pineapple on top, which is something I could easily do myself at home! I also ordered the dessert sampler, which was also extremely overpriced for just 3 small bites. Overall, it was an underwhelming dessert that looked really pretty, but did not taste very good. We came here on a Saturday evening and got seated pretty quickly and had great service. Since we waitlisted, we got seated at one of the community tables in the center, but was able to walk around to check out the views better. The decorations were very pretty and unique. I think this place is great if you want amazing views with aesthetic decoration, but would not recommend it for the drinks or desserts.
