9 New, Beautiful Bed and Breakfasts in the U.S. - AFAR

"Time seems to stand still at this 18th-century farmhouse on six tranquil acres in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region, where the owners’ Italian heritage shapes the food—heirloom tomato tarts and poached eggs with crispy prosciutto at breakfast and Venetian-style cicchetti in the evening. Common areas cozy up around wood-burning fireplaces and firepits, an on-site gift shop stocks ceramics, jams, soaps and dog toys, and rooms such as the Sergeant Libbey feature an electric fireplace, balcony and exposed brick and wood beams." - Matt Kirouac

We received a warm greeting by the innkeepers on arrival, along with snacks and desserts. We had our elopement on the property and and they took care of every detail from the cake to the bouquet as well as dinner. Breakfast each morning was as amazing as other reviews have described. This is a gem of a bed and breakfast and Tatianna and Gino made our stay extra special! Highly recommend!

This inn was easily one of favorites in New England. It is a very intimate experience as the inn has only four rooms. The innkeepers, Gino and Tatiana, were so very hospitable and definitely had servant hearts. Breakfasts were the BEST of any place we have stayed. Never before were we given a menu book to choose from. But the specials of the day were amazing. They offered dinner in the evening, pizzas or paninis, which was great after a long day of driving. The grounds were beautiful, with spectacular views of the mountains. It was sad for us to leave as we felt we were leaving good friends. We would love to return in the future.

I had never been to NH before and found this affordable inn on google. We traveled from Vermont to New Hampshire and wanted to drive the Kancamagus Highway to enjoy the foliage. Top of the Ridge was conveniently located about an hour south of Conway, NH. The owner and chef Gino welcomed us later than their usual hours with a big smile and welcome. Our room was comfortable and well appointed and had a little balcony on which to sit, relax, and enjoy the view. Delicious breakfasts (SO many options!!) were offered between 8-10, which I appreciated as a late morning person. There were protein bars, biscotti, fresh fruit and drinks left out all day long for our convenience. The inn was convenient for exploring nearby towns such as Meredith, Wolfeboro, Rochester, Portsmouth - or even Maine. There were little touches to show they care - a nice comfy throw, a small fridge in the room, and his wife's homemade soaps - all appreciated!

We had an exceptional experience at Top of the Ridge and we can’t wait to return. Gino and Tatiana were wonderful hosts and made our stay unforgettable. The breakfasts were incredible! Jessica and Katy took great care of us. The property is beautiful, comfortable and honestly, perfect in every way. They have taken great care to attend to every detail to make your stay the very best it could be. Don’t miss it.

What a find. Tatiana & Gino are innkeepers with heart and soul who pay fastidious attention to detail. This is THE B&B to stay in when visiting New Hampshire, or New England, for that matter. They made us feel extra special welcome in their greatly restored historical farmhouse, not least given we were traveling with our little dachshund - and they are very pet friendly (we loved their dog, Moose, too). Their breakfast menu is out of this world (and the breakfast host, Jessie, super nice, too!). So many options. We also enjoyed some of their additional “packages” and can only say: don’t leave without trying the pizza which is very authentically Italian. And the cicchetti (assorted Venetian-style bites) were very generous and scrumptious, too. Our (dog-friendly) room was super comfy with a little terrace from which we (and our dog) could access the ample grounds directly. The views are amazing, and the location makes exploring the Lakes Region very easy while having a super chill base. Highly recommended.

This was a much needed getaway, planned around a car race and our new puppy. The hosts Gino and Tatiana were very accommodating, lovely people to talk with, and tolerant of the puppy mess. The location is peaceful and beautiful. I wanted to stay longer in order to sit in the parlor and read, and to walk the fields, and to take a cooking class. |We had the first floor room (dog friendly). I worried about the street noise since the room is facing the street but found that I slept wonderfully! Light from the entrance hall seeped around the door frame the first night. The second night, we adjusted the wall sconces in the entrance hall and there was no problem.|Breakfast was delicious both days. We chose the daily special - berry pancakes one morning, baked egg dish the next. Our waitress Katie was delightful.|Our puppy was well taken care of - food/water dishes in the room, her own pillow and blanket. She loved wandering behind the house and harassing Moose (who was also tolerant).|I'm looking forward to visiting again.

Our first time at Top of the Ridge B & B will certainly not be our last. We have traveled in the US and Europe and can say this was one of the best. The owners and innkeepers, Gino and Tatiana, were amazing. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious. Service and hospitality were first rate. The property was beautiful with gorgeous views of the mountains. You cannot go wrong staying at this lovely inn. We will be returning!

We had a fabulous experience at this quaint and lovely B and B. Gino and Tatiana made sure every detail of our stay was perfect. Gino’s breakfasts were Michelin-star worthy, the grounds were beautiful, and the rooms were very well appointed and comfortable. All in all a superb stay! Can’t wait to come back next year!

Yelp
This cozy place opened up during the pandemic, and I'm glad they did! It's a cute little property so you're not overwhelmed with other guests, and the proprietors and very friendly and accommodating. The bed was very firm, which was perfect for my spouse, and we loved the little electric fireplace and heated towel rack. The place has been very recently renovated but they kept all the old bones so the aesthetic is great. The breakfast was also really lovely, with soft scrambled eggs and delightful potatoes, as well as fruit, toast, and greens. If you like dogs, make sure to ask to meet Chelsea and Moose!
