Highlights

Topsy Turvy Brewery was born from a dream and love of Wisconsin’s craft brewing history. This love is being brought to life in a historical church in the heart of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin located just blocks from Geneva Lake.

This review is of multiple visits since Topsy Turvy opened. My wife and I absolutely love this place and as locals we visit often. Currently 20 beers on tap. I have my selection that I enjoy often. My wife enjoys their wine selection. Recently they started serving mixed drinks with a good variety to choose from. Join the members club and receive great monthly deals. Live music, to go beer or crowlers, delicious pizzas, huge pretzels, and great merchandise round out other options. Oh, and the staff is great too!! Stop by and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

We love stopping by on afternoons to sit at the patio with our dog (welcome on the patio). Always some fun brews along side the usuals, and the staff are always super friendly. Plus, since it’s in an old church it has a cool vibe inside too.

Google
Great location near the strip! Perfect beer and fun environment, with table games. This used to be a church, so it has that charm... stained glass and high ceilings. ✨️

Molly Schuld

Google
The atmosphere is fantastic, indoor and outdoor as they have both a front or back patio. They also have event space that can be rented out.

We recently held our son's rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Topsy Turvy for 120 (56 for dinner then the rest of the guests came for the welcome party) and we couldn't have been happier! It was such a great night! Tina, Andrea and the entire staff at TT were incredible to work with. From the planning stages through the execution, they were easy to communicate with, helpful with recommendations and on top of every detail when it came to the day/night of the event.

Google
Amazing. The staff was so kind and helpful. The manager went out of his way to make everyone comfortable; he even personally brought more stools outside because he saw our group was standing during live music on the patio. Such a unique venue too- I’m so happy we stopped here on a whim while walking downtown. You made our night, Thank you!

Google
This place is awesome! This old church turned brewery is in downtown Lake Geneva and a must visit. Big space, great music, incredible stained glass with the sun coming through. Beers were good, enjoyed their Mexican lager and Beach blonde, Mexican lager was my favorite….very crushable and 4.4% ABV. Merch was pretty solid, awesome Tun signs and great t shirts!

Google
It's a really super cool micro brewery in downtown Lake Geneva. They have a pretty good selection of beers. The service is friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the old church vibe.

Clara S.

Yelp
Such a cool brewery in downtown Geneva. We came to this old church and sampled flights of beers. It was so fun to taste a few and admire the interior decor. All the beers were refreshing as well!

Lisa M.

Yelp
My friend and I decided to stop by and have a drink while in Lake Geneva. This brewery is in a beautiful cathedral and is stunning! I loved the high vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows. They offer a variety of local beers on tap. We ordered the Cranberry squeeze sour beer. It was really good! Overall, nice atmosphere and good drinks. Check it out if you're in the area!

Yelp
We stopped here for a beer on a Saturday afternoon while visiting the area. It looks really marvelous inside since it's located in an old church. They have a nice patio out front as well, and I think they have another patio in back, but I'm not 100% on that. We were here with a group of 8 people, and everyone enjoyed the beers they tried. They had bussers regularly coming around the patio to take your empty glasses, which was nice. They only have a few snack options for food though, like a giant soft pretzel and popcorn, so if you're hungry plan accordingly.

Philip M.

Yelp
Busy atmosphere and friendly bar staff. Had a flight of beers and they were great. Plenty of options for the pickiest of beer drinkers.

Julie O.

Yelp
Fun stop not on the lake front in Lake Geneva. It's nice to get away from the long waits on the lake and this is possible at Topsy Turvy. Beers are good. Servers sometimes have beer concoctions that blend two or more brews for even more fun. Seating inside and out:. Dogs on patio. Food is limited but the frozen pizza is pretty hearty and made to order.

Mike G.

Yelp
Stopped at Topsy Turvy during a trip to Lake Geneva with my wife and so glad we did! This brewery was formerly a church and they did a great job converting the space to a brewery with the stain glass windows intact. They have a pretty good beer list - I had the Twisted Nun and really enjoyed it. The outdoor space is nice and dog friendly. My only regret is we didn't have enough time to do a flight and explore more brews. We'll definitely be back!

Karen N.

Yelp
Located in downtown Lake Geneva, an old church was converted into a bar The stained glass windows are beautiful, but the high ceilings and acoustics make it very loud. They have a large outdoor patio, and entertainment at times. They had a decent selection of beers and wines on tap and to purchase. One of the big attractions of this place is that it is in an old converted church. Lots of choices of beers and wines, no ciders. They have limited bar snacks. Overall, it was ok.

Geneva H.

Yelp
Boring and bad. Big interior with NOTHING of interest to do for ANYONE (kids or adults). With that much space there should be hoops, pool tables, games, darts, conversation areas, VIP rooms, food kitchen, hanging hammocks, dance floor, DJ booth, etc... instead there are a FEW bar stools! BORING!!! Now onto the beers... One in six works as a replacement for a brandname brew, and the rest are off-kilter (okay, topsy-tervy), in both any proper flavor or style. Outside seating is staid and stodgy due to a lack of music, merriment or focal points (water elements, fire pit, heaters, DJ, Tiki bar, beer pong), in either the FRONT or REAR PATIO AREAS! What a total WASTE of potential in this great location and venue of a remodeled former Baptist church.

Chris M.

Yelp
Beautiful Lake Geneva and good beer just seem to go together... While in town for a much needed vacation we decided to stop into the Topsy Turvy Brewery for a cold one. The minute you walk into the large repurposed church you get the feeling that this place is something special. A bastion of barley and heavenly hops, this space was spacious and well equiped for more than just the casual suds sucker. The beer selections were ample and varied, with lots of different choices to tickle every fancy of beer lover. Prices were good and the service was outstanding and friendly, Aloha

Pamela L.

Yelp
Has live music on the weekend food was ok but its a fun place to have a few drinks and people watch

Doug S.

Yelp
Super cool place in Lake Geneva to stop for a beverage...or two! Great service and cool space inside, as it's in an old church. I recommend the Asmodeus Chocolate Stout!

Patricia G.

Yelp
Intriguing atmosphere, used to be a church and they have kept much of the ambiance; stained glass windows, some pews here and there, beers were great according to my husband our daughter.

Jill M.

Yelp
Let me start by saying the place is pretty cool. What looks like an old church converted into a brewery, it's visually pleasing to say the least. Honest opinion- was just ok. My husband & I were just not a fan of alot of their beers. I had a water-melon Wheat beer - and it just wasn't anything special & felt like it was lacking something. Also tried the Dive watermelon straw hard seltzer, tasted watered down, lacking flavor. Husband did a sampler of a few different lagers and Ale's, none of which we were really impressed by. Not so sure the bartender was very educated on what he was serving either, after asking him a few questions it was apparent. Bar-back girl was friendly tho, if that count. Tip: this isn't a restaurant - but they have some bar snacks. Frozen pizza/soft pretzel. Didn't try. Overall, probably wouldn't come back. Better places to drink in Lake Geneva, sorry

Dave C.

Yelp
One of the big attractions of this place is that it is in an old converted church. Lots of choices of beers; can do a flight. Tried a small glass of 4 separate beers. They have food, but not much is made there - just microwaved. There are also soft drinks available. Lots of space between tables. Even had a baggo game going.

A A.

Yelp
Sad that it's in an old church but very nice place and Ann, the manager , was very nice. Beer very good and the pretzels were amazing.

Jeremy E.

Yelp
Great location in the edge of downtown with an enormous beer selection. After a hot day of walking around Lake Geneva I definitely recommend the sour!

john h.

Yelp
First time we've had a chance to stop in, but glad we did! The place was full at 5:00pm on Saturday. Nice selection of craft beers and a selection of bar food. Cute place and real good beer, only issue was price per cup was pretty high.

Tr Y.

Yelp
What a great stop! Definitely a must stop for craft beer lovers. We were lucky enough to meet Matt & Maria working the taps that day. Extremely knowledgeable & kind with a fun tasting room and great music:) If you drink, go here and do that, you'll be glad you did!

Samantha L.

Yelp
While we were checking out the Lake Geneva Farmer's Market, we discovered the Topsy Turvy Brewery, which is a brewery located inside of a church. If you want to sit on the patio with the blue umbrellas, you must enter through the main entrance. The gentleman was friendly and knowledgeable about the beer menu. It was nice that I got to sample a couple including #7: Berry Squeezee, #10: Shmoopy Juice, and #20: Lagoserita. I liked the first two that I tried. The Berry Squeezee was balanced, fruity, tangy, and sour whereas the Shmoopy Juice was sweet, fruity, sour and smoothie-like. However, I went with #7: Berry Squeeze because it was lighter in alcohol content. Before leaving the brewery, I purchased a souvenir blue t-shirt and a sew-on patch.

Yelp
Positive, its a microbrewery and who doesn't love a microbrewery? We stopped because we thought the venue was really unique, its an old church. It was Sunday so that was even better, I could say I went to "church" today. The negative? The one staff member present was pleasant enough and the beer was "fine" albeit unremarkable, but the venue was a total let down. Its just big open white shell with no decor, very bland and uninviting. Can we say more boring than an actual church? LOL. It is. You could have really had some fun with this big space but nobody's made an effort to do anything with it. Now I don't know what came first the brewery name or the venue but I can't make the connection between the two. The uniqueness of the old church is wasted, the brewery may as well be in a warehouse.

Gary G.

Yelp
This awesome microbrewery is located near downtown Lake Geneva. It's an old converted church, which still has the stained glass windows intact and the structure remnants are still noticeable on the outside. Very cool motif inside! A wide array of snacks and "finger foods" available to compliment one of their many microbrews. Wine and soft drinks also offered, if you so choose. Plenty of seating, and souvenir apparel is reasonably priced. Plenty of street parking available.

Dan S.

Yelp
Great beers and friendly staff. Had a amazing rehearsal event at TopsyTurvy. Staff was great and helped carry in much of our stuff for the dinner. Cool old church in downtown Lake Geneva.

Heather B.

Yelp
Great selection , worth the stop . Hannah very nice and pleasant. Must stop by when in the area .

Lindsay J.

Yelp
Really cool spot in LG! I needed to work and enjoy the time while I did. They have a strong WiFi connection, and a big space in a cool atmosphere. The former church is the perfect backdrop for this fun brewery. The day I went there were over 15 Topsy Turvy beers on tap and a few additional co-op brews. If you can't find something you like, that's on you. Start with a four pour, four ounce each flight...then pick your pint. I went with the Strawberry sour. It was awesome! I bet serious craft drinkers would stay away from the fruit beer, but they would be missing out. This beer was amazing, clean, light, fruity, sour and refreshing. 100% recommend! They needed more than two ladies working on this busy Saturday, but still, they found time to adjust the TVs for my IU game and they were very friendly. Check this place out, I know I'll be back!

Mitch J.

Yelp
Big fan of this place! So glad they're here in Lake Geneva. In my opinion, their beers are the best in the local area. They have several offerings ranging from a blonde ale, to a Belgian-style ale, to a hazy IPA. Would love to see some stouts make that list when it gets closer to wintertime, but I am a huge fan of what I sampled. They sell beers by 8 or 16oz, and also offer flights of 4 beers for $10. I'd suggest the flight if this is your first time so you can sample more of what they have to offer and can make a more specific selection next time. Super friendly staff who went above and beyond to make sure I selected beers that I would like. Also love that they offer outdoor patio seating. Come here on a nice summer day for an excellent experience!

Meli L.

Yelp
TR is the best. Totally recommend place!!

Mark D.

Yelp
Charming brewery in a old church. Great selection of beers. At $15 for two beers I think it's a bit overpriced.

Dulcie N.

Yelp
Nice brewery/cool venue. Beers were good and live music was nice although hard to hear as the acoustics were already pretty loud. Fast service!

Kari N.

Yelp
Our first visit was such a fantastic experience! We were greeted as we entered making us feel right at home. Staff was knowledgeable and very attentive. Your beertenders kept the tables clear of empty glasses and brought our snack right to our table. My favorite choice that day - Hugh Hefeweizen. Hint of banana was perfect. Well done Topsy Turvy!! I will pass along this gem to all of my fellow beer lovers.

Kim B.

Yelp
Awesome spot to hit up in LG! Great products and live music on the front patio. So glad we tried it out and will definitely be back!

mark M.

Yelp
Nice spot which is a converted church and had an Oktoberfest which was good. Very disappointed in what little food they offer, had a small pizza that was nothing more than burnt bread at a cost of $18. If that is the best you can do, do not even offer any food. Leave it as a brew pub or put some effort into the food? Ruined the whole experience.

Joe C.

Yelp
Funtana Frog, Stellar Nova Original, And Stellar Nova Lotus were all beers that I'd recommend; however, $8.25 per beer was steep!!!! Unfortunately, Lake Geneva is a tourist trap and this appears to be tourist trap pricing That aside, the beer, ambiance, and service we're good.

Lauren R.

Yelp
Delicious beer, many choices. There were 20 beers on tap. We had flights and sat out on the patio. We would love to come back if we're in the area.

Hannah G.

Yelp
Cool selection of beers on tap but would love to see some more cohesiveness in the interior. Live music is always good

Emily R.

Yelp
Stained glass windows and church setting was cool. Gluten free options tasted gross, but at least they had them. Lots of IPAs to choose from

Paul B.

Yelp
What a fun place. It is located in an old church and has a great sit down get together vibe. Easy to have a chat with friends. 20 some odd beer selection for which you can select a flight of four beers . All of mine were excellent. Ranges from darks to sours and everything in between. Several food options too. Our table had cheese curds. I did not partake but I was told they were quite delectable. Definitely would recommend this fine establishment.

Kevin Z.

Yelp
Just dropped in for a beer and to cool down. Very nice list and great service. Wide open space. Don't be discouraged if there's a line. They move along pretty fast!

Jim O.

Yelp
Microbrewery in a remodeled church. Enter by house on east side. Awesome space with stained glass windows, high top tables, and bags. Fast and friendly service. About a dozen Topsy Turvy brews on tap, seltzers, a guest beer and a wine list. Snacks available or bring in carry out. Beers are typical microbrewery fare, stout and scotch ale were decent. Lots of dates here!

Lizz M.

Yelp
Beautiful space- a converted church. They've maintained a lot of the original stained glass and structure. Great variety of beer options which did not disappoint. Order a flight to try a bunch!

Jeremy S.

Yelp
A former church turned brewery Always has my interest and this place did not disappoint. The first thing you notice is the gorgeous stained glass windows as a beautiful and welcoming patio beckons you to stay. It is kid and dog friendly with a great atmosphere throughout. Inside they have a plethora of beer styles to choose from as well as flights that are available if you feel like trying multiple beers. We missed out on the massive pretzel (with cheese!) that they have to snack on so we're definitely coming back again to try it!

Dalia A.

Yelp
Amazing! It's an old church they converted into a brewery. It still has the original stain glass windows! I loved the pomegranate lemonade. Will be back!

Bern T.

Yelp
Craft Beer selection is good. Service is rude. Not sure if it's worth putting up with. There are many good bars in Lake Geneva why go here? Recommend stopping at a place that provides nicer service and ambiance like the county jail.

Laurie M.

Yelp
Great little place. Cool atmosphere & nice selection of craft beers on tap. They have pretzels and other snacks, but they allow delivery of local food if desired. Wish they offered an 8 flight!

Julia U.

Yelp
This space is so cool! My husband had two IPAs which he thought were alright. I got a root beer because I'm pregnant The server was super friendly. Also got a giant pretzel which was delicious.

Bridie C.

Yelp
This place is perfect for downtown Lake Geneva! Much needed addition to the area. Great front patio to sip some delicious beers. Can't wait for the tap room to open!

Molly S.

Yelp
A fun, welcoming atmosphere, beautiful recently renovated inside, plentiful outdoor patio seating, hardworking, mask-wearing staff, and occasional live music to top it off. A much needed addition to Lake Geneva.

Brian H.

Yelp
Very cool ! Alison and I are checking out places in Lake Geneva, WI and we just found this brewery! Topsy Turvy! It's in an old church, they brew the beer in the basement and they have flights of beer and deserts! Check it out!

Alex H.

Yelp
The best spot for the weekend when grabbing a beer or seltzer! The sour beer and seltzer are my favorite and you can do a beer flight for $10.00! Highly recommend to visit when in lake Geneva!

Bridget D.

Yelp
I brought my mom in the other day for her first ever beer flight. This was our first time to Topsy Turvy. Workers were super friendly & we both enjoyed our beers. Can't wait to come back with my husband to share this great find & try that giant pretzel! Being in a converted church, we were surprised that the interior was like your average brewery & not more of a dark wood/old church vibe, but beer offerings were varied & stellar.

Patrick L.

Yelp
Great brewery and great setting, I love the idea of repurposing and absolutely beautiful building. The IPAs were off the chain!!!
