"Located on a boulevard near Jungdong Intersection in the Haeundae District, Torafuguga stands out with its quaint wooden exterior and a small aquarium with live torafuku (tiger puffer) at the front. The eatery has no sign except for a small calligraphy of its name penned by the owner-chef Jung Seung-hun himself. Yet, these visual elements are enough to let you know that it’s a specialist puffer fish restaurant. Here, the chef’s precise hand movements bring out the variegated flavors of tiger puffer and deliver them, nonstop, to customers at the tables. Torafuguga’s Japanese-style puffer fish course features a wide array of faithful dishes that are parboiled, served raw in slices, fried, made into a soup, or crafted into a porridge. There are many restaurants that handle puffer fish, but few show commitment to presenting it in authentic Japanese style. In light of this, the chef’s earnestness in preparing and serving puffer fish testifies to his passion for culinary art." - Michelin Inspector

We had the 10500¥ set and it was quite a bit so if you have eaten lunch, the 9500¥ set should be more than enough! Each item in the set were so different, fun, and satiating, we couldn’t believe it was the same fish. Highly recommend!

Excellent service from the staff, and extremely delicious fugu dishes with expert preparation. I had the 9500 yen set meal and it was worth every penny. Special shoutout to the Chinese-speaking staff who helped us with the orders and spoke to us after the dinner. Torafugujo is highly recommended (: (do remember to make a booking online though)

This is my 2nd time at this place & I quite like this place . Food is good & we were seated in kind of private room where there is a bell whenever you need service , just press for service & staffs will come to ask what you need . We ordered 1 set each of fugu & crab . I will say menu is a bit pricey but food is very fresh . When the staff brought the fugu cuts , you can still see the cuts fugu muscle still moving showing it was freshly cut at the back kitchen . This restaurant is open in an old building of Japanese structure , so for foreigner it could be a bit cramp to go or walk in the restaurant because all the places are like so narrow & small even the toilet on the 2nd floor . Overall , the food & service is good .

I think trying fugu is more about the experience and the thrill than the taste. The actual fugu meat is quite good nonetheless but has a very mild taste. The flavor comes mostly from the ponzu sauce, chili paste and chives that come with it and matches really well together. I had a bunch of fugu courses which I all really enjoyed (fugu skin salad, fugu sashimi, fugu hot pot) but the real highlight for me was the hot sake with grilled fugu tail. It is by far my best sake experience in Japan. The price is very reasonnable and I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I wasn’t exactly excited going into this meal—Torafugu means pufferfish, which can be an intimidating delicacy. We booked a limited course featuring eel and tiger pufferfish for ¥9,300 each and ended up spending around ¥21,000 (~$144) total. While it was definitely a unique experience, it’s not one I feel compelled to repeat.

Walked in to try the unagi don. Luckily they have English menu and the crab legs were amazing.

We had a 6800 yen puffer fish set and a 5800yen crab set, both of them include sashimi, roasted and hot pot. Very delicious meal, will definitely be there again.
