Torai Sushi

Excellent sushi 🍣😋👌. I wish I found this spot when I first got into Washington DC. We had lunch specials that were impressive in size, quality, taste, and the price was relatively inexpensive for what you got. It's a small spot seating only available for a handful of people (we sat at the bar due to only a few tables in the entire restaurant). I recommend this spot. The ramen was also excellent (large thick pieces of pork topping 👍). 6 stars in my book....

We came for lunch and everything was fresh and delicious! We got 2 of the lunch specials. We’ll be back😊 Of note- all of our nigiri had a little bit of wasabi between the fish and rice. It wasn’t a problem for us and was yummy. However, if you don’t like wasabi, maybe mention it to them. Thanks for a yummy lunch!

Amazing sushi bar! The best sushi I had. We were visiting DC, and spent long time to find a good sushi bar. After searching I can say, we did made right decision to come here. Tiny place with 3 tables and bar chair, but it won’t be so important after you will try their sushi. Thank you to chef and his team! VERY RECOMMENDED!

Very quaint but nice. The sushi rolls were okay. I tasted more sauce than the flavors of the ingredients of the roll, but the sashmi and miso I had was great.

This was my first time visiting Torso Sushi, as I had placed a pre-order for pickup. When I arrived, I was informed that my order had been ready earlier but was just being prepared as I got there, so I had to wait. I didn’t mind waiting, but what happened next left me feeling uncomfortable. While waiting, I asked the staff member at the front if I could use their restroom. The response was a very flat "no," without any explanation. Normally, I would expect to hear something like "It’s for paying customers only" or "It’s out of order," but there was nothing. The refusal felt personal, and as a first-time customer, it made me feel unwelcome in the restaurant. I understand that sometimes people might react to others based on assumptions or how someone may resemble another person, but that doesn’t justify treating people unfairly. Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect, especially first-time customers. I stepped outside to wait because I didn’t feel comfortable staying inside after that interaction. When I returned, my order was ready, and I just grabbed it and left. Overall, my first experience at Torso Sushi wasn’t very positive. I hope the staff can be more courteous and offer explanations when declining a request, as it would make the place feel more welcoming to all customers.

I immediately loved the vibe inside and the lady at the register was so nice! I got some things for takeout and I’m very impressed. this is going to be my new go to place !

Wowwwww. Definitively A++++ Mega Sushi boat. Food was very good. We are not sure about the place but we decide to try it and no regrets. A must Stop. Prices are so low that is a win win situation. Good food good price. Portions so big and abundant. House of the Sushi boat. We ordered a boat for 2 and was big as show in the pics the 4 boat is giant.

Hidden gem, unassuming local family place with great sushi at a descent size and price. Not like these other pish-posh places that serve half the size of generic fish spruced up w spices and Mayo. This is honest sushi done simply. The kind I used to get as a kid. The place is clean, old, cute, and reminds me of my fav mom-n-pop shops when I was a kid in Japan. Looking forward to going back very soon! ^_^
