Always a pleasure coming to Torchys MUELLER 😊 Staff always has a smile with positive vibes . From the beginning of taking my order (hispanic lady with green eyes ) to getting my food from lady named Karina ensuring my food was accurate and brought out in a timely manner. To managers checking in and ensuring i was enjoying my time with them. Cannot praise them enough for the service they provide. Will continue to come back !

Google
I walked into torchy's tacos with a free chips and queso with tacos and a cherry Tito limeade. I don't know what happened, but after eating here I felt noxious with just one drink. The tacos were big was the selling point. The fact that I didn't feel well after either the food or drink, I won't be back here. I later threw up in the same plaza moments later. I will give them credit for the aesthetics it looks great, but when you sick it changes your whole perspective

I had a wonderful experience at Torchy’s Mueller, thanks to the exceptional service from the manager, Casey. He was incredibly polite, attentive, and made sure our visit was superb . The food was outstanding and delicious. The combination of great service and amazing food made for a truly memorable visit. Highly recommended!

I LOVE TORCHYS!! This place honestly has great tacos. I highly recommend the Trailer Park taco hill-billy style (on the secret menu).

Google
Torchy’s Tacos is fantastic! The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and full of personality—every taco feels like a delicious creation of its own. The atmosphere is lively, welcoming, and just the right mix of fun and relaxed. What really sets Torchy’s apart, though, is the service. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive—they don’t just take your order, they walk you through the menu, answer questions with patience, and genuinely make you feel cared for. They truly guide you every step of the way, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. All in all, amazing food, great vibes, and some of the friendliest service you’ll find anywhere. Highly recommend Torchy’s for anyone craving tacos done right!

Didn’t know this Torchy’s was here and I looooved it! Food was great, service was nice and atmosphere is perfect. Obviously recommend queso and Baja shrimp tacos 10/10

Google
One of the best restaurant chains if you're craving tacos 🌮 or Mexican food in Austin! We ordered both the available options in their veggie tacos section and were impressed by the generous stuffing. The fried avocado taco was good but the Fo Sho veggie taco stole the show with amazing flavors. The cheese quesadilla was also good but surprisingly at room temp. Expected it to be a little warm. They were also able to make one of their signature cocktails, Sucker Punch, as a non-alcoholic mocktail 🍸 and it was really good 😀 Parking is somewhat difficult if you go during peak hours but there's an HEB so you can always park there and walk. Don't miss their happy hours from 4 to 6 pm when all the tacos are at $1 off and drinks at $2 off 😀 Nice ambience and they have outdoor seating as well..!

Libbie was amazing, very fast and had patience with me with all my questions I had. Thank you so much, we will be back because of her and the amazing bartender! Drinks, food was delicious!

Yelp
Alas, Torchy's, you have not improved since you sold your corporate soul to private equity. As was the case last time we Yelped, we've actually been here a couple times since our last 2018 review, but felt compelled to write an update after trying it again this past weekend. It's so sad what's happened here! The place even just *looks* like she's been through the wringer. We will say that our two favorite aspects of Torchy's--the margs and the queso--are still extraordinarily good. However, we did not love seeing our drinks just sitting at the bar for several minutes until one of us decided to just go and grab them herself. The taco situation can only be compared to the fall of Rome. Like, What the actual F is happening? We ordered two tacos: the trailer park (make it trashy) and the fried avocado and both looked depressingly unappetizing when they arrived at the table. First of all, the trailer park has definitely been reduced in size: it was one lonely strip with some unmelted grated cheese on top and a bit of queso and that was actually it. It used to be good, but not anymore! And the fried avocado looked as depressing and was legitimately bland. No flavor! Our daughter's steak taco was another grated cheese-tossed on situation, and didn't they used to double up tortillas so the whole thing wouldn't crumble? Don't they care about how far they have fallen from the pantheon of Austin tacos?? Oh. The side of street corn is still good. We're vacillated between giving this place three stars again or two because it really is more 2.5 stars right now. But what they do well is still really awesome, so we're rounding up for no other reason than pure nostalgia. Maybe it'll improve one day, maybe not.

Yelp
Always a welcoming environment at Torchys...friendly service, clean tables and some killer tacos! One breakfast Burrito with brisket instead of chorizo for myself...BEC for the GD and a CEC for the wife...And They Both forgot about the camera eating first as they were 3 bites in by the time my burrito was unveiled...Anyway...burrito was large to say the least and loaded with goodness...I'm assuming theirs were great as well as they finished before me.

Yelp
Torchy's a pretty reliable texas staple What I ate: - Chorizo, egg and cheese brekkie taco: Pretty tasty taco. I got this on flour, so it was like a 6 bite taco instead of a 3 bite taco. - The democrat: Beef barbacoa. Again, very tasty, but nothing to write home about - Green chili queso: Cheese goodness, perfect app to share with the table - Bloody mary was nice and zesty, perfect way to pair with my tacos Pros: - Huge overwhelming taco list, tacos in each of the various proteins you would want. They even had vegetarian and vegan options. - Flour tortillas were really very good. I was pleasantly surprised considering this is a chain - Full bar - Pretty good fast casual spot - Clean bathrooms Cons: - This is a chain. Don't expect some super authentic tacos on the list. Be prepared to see some wild unorthodox tacos and flavors like bbq sauce. Would I come again? Sure

Yelp
Never gotten a response, on why I got food poisoning at this establishment. Never gotten a response, on why I got food poisoning at this establishment.

Yelp
This is an order at the counter and then they bring you your food place. The tacos were phenomenal! I got the fried avacado and Republican, both of which I recommend. They did come out cold, but the flavors were there. The sangria swirl was delicious.

Yelp
Torchy's has to be one of my most favorite taco place in Austin, the combination of flavors is just mind-blowing. Leaves me happy dancing all the time, literally. I will name some of the must try here: tipsy chick, jerk chicken, brushfire, breakfast tacos, Mr. Orange, fried avocado.....too nice!! And I recently tried their street corn, OMG!! The perfect side dish, I swear...did not take photos this time (or any other time I eat their tacos because I am just too excited to wait for anything haha) but will update the review with photos soon....oh, on that note, the tacos look too pretty as well! You just cannot NOT like them.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I didn't feel like cooking lunch, so we decided to check out Torchy's. This is an Austin staple, but we've never made time to check out any of the locations for some reason. We were pleasantly surprised! First, Torchy's has an extensive menu with many tasty options. Breakfast tacos, 'heavier' lunch tacos, etc. and tons of classics like chips and salsa or chips and guacamole. Second, there's plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors. There were only two of us, but there were plenty of groups, too. This place is good for a quick, very casual bite to eat. It's certainly nothing out of this world, but it does the job!
google avatar

Yelp
The tacos have changed. No more real potatoes or bacon you get frozen mashed hashbrowns and fat bacon bits. So disappointing, Torchys used to be a solid place..bring back the real tacos!
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
This is gas station grade food. Eggs were runny, the ingredients weren't mixed together. Just a giant glob of half melted, slimy cheese in the middle. Better tortillas at basically any other restaurant in town. I don't know how this place gets return customers. I hadn't tried it in a while and hoped they had improved. Save your money and hit the gas station across the street for similar quality at lower prices Is this food? Yes. Is it edible? Barely

Yelp
This is our regular Torchy's and tbh I've never had a bad experience at this location! Always generous with taco fillings. I usually get a trashy trailer park and a brisket taco with poblano ranch (that sauce is addicting I would drink it if they gave me more!). I always forget to do my rewards when I'm there and they don't do the best at reminding me lol but I think that's more of an error from corporate. They should consider switching to asking for loyalty phone number upon payment. I selfishly want more rewards. Tried something new today and got the airstream salad with chicken. I was so so impressed! It was huge and they were so generous with toppings and protein! The dressing (champagne vinaigrette I believe) seemed like a strange choice but ended up pairing very nicely with everything. It was beautiful too! This will def be my new go-to order.

Yelp
The chips and queso is my favorite here! Gets busy sometimes but staff is super nice and quick! The wrangler taco is my go to!

Yelp
I've been coming to this location since it opened, loved it. Then pandemic happened. Then it has just not been the same. Ordered their special, ancho shrimp taco, an egg and chorizo, and a small queso. As always, the queso is consistently yummy. But the chorizo was more like bacon bits (not their usual sausage) and inedible. The shrimp taco was just nasty, the shrimp were slimy and not fresh. I spit it out and threw it in the trash.
google avatar

Neil H.

Yelp
This chain is over hyped and overpriced. Every damned taco tastes the same. Over salted, over seasoned and sprinkled with strong cotija cheese. If I were blindfolded, I wouldn't be able to tell you if I were eating pork, beef, chicken or fish. Sucks that my thirteen year old loves them so much.

Yelp
Visited this Torchy's location which is across from the Mueller HEB. One thing I appreciate about this location is that there seems to always be parking, and there is plenty of space to eat inside. There is also a nice outdoor patio area, which I am sure will be a great place to visit when the weather gets cooler! My typical go to meal at Torchy's is the Trailer Park and the Wrangler. I like that at this location, they typically don't skimp on the contents inside. The hillbilly queso is also solid, although I will say getting chips from this location is either a hit or miss. Either the chips will be INSANELY salty or they will be stale. Today we got the latter option. If you plan to go, I personally love the haberno sauce to pair with my tacos. It has a nice kick and the flavors balance out really well. Overall...4/5 stars!
google avatar

Caryn N.

Yelp
It's the brisket and queso for me sir. I have had better over time and these tacos was ok. The food was a little dry this time so I added queso to everything but my drank.
google avatar

Tracey Z.

Yelp
Took these tacos togo! Service was nice and fast. The togo tacos I feel are never as great or as big is you eat them there. The chicken taco was just covered in cold cheese - it used to be melted. The shrimp baja was not bad.

Laura ..

Yelp
Torchy's tacos are perfection. Mr. orange and trailer park are my favs. The Mueller location is my favorite with a beautiful, spacious deck. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We did show up 30 minutes before closing BUT... I had a plastic piece in my taco, my boyfriend never got his churros and didn't realize until they were closed, and my friend ordered a margarita on the rocks but it came frozen. It was okay for a quick cheaper bite but I would never recommend any of my friends to try it, especially not as this location.

Vivian O.

Yelp
Stopped in to order "to go". Mayson took my order. He was friendly and suggested that I wait at the bar. Maggie was bartending and explained that there was special pricing on some of the drinks. I decided on a Sangria. She was pleasant and professional. Great Customer Service from both servers! I would also like to add a much overdue shout out for Sindy! I watched her kindly explain the menu to a young man getting a large take out order She did a fabulous job! She then took my order and was extremely nice. Of course I will be back sometime soon!
google avatar

Anastasia M.

Yelp
Stopped in for an appetizer and a quick drink. Sat at the bar and had the chips and queso, which were quick and delicious. The margaritas are amazing! The bartender was prompt and friendly. I'd definitely go back! Nice big outside patio

Yelp
After coming to Torchys Tacos the first time I visited Austin I loved it so much I knew I had to come back to Torchys Tacos the next time I came back. It only took 2+ years but it finally happened. This location is within a plaza and there is a large parking lot which is better than some other Torchys Tacos locations in the Austin area. When you walk in you go to the right for dine-in and if you're doing pickup you can go to the left. I ordered the trailer park trashy, baja shrimp, and midnight cowboy which was their taco of the month. For the trailer park taco, getting them "trashy" means replacing the lettuce with queso which I highly recommend you do. The shrimp in the baja shrimp was so lightly coated and crispy. The sauces for the trailer park and baja shrimp went really well with their respective tacos. For the midnight cowboy, I thought it was just okay; I think it was because after eating the fried chicken in the trailer park and the shrimp in the baja shrimp, the texture of the ground beef was not as enjoyable. The taco itself was spicy though which I liked and the unique thing is it's a crisp corn tortilla within a flour tortilla. I still liked the other two tacos more but this one was okay. They also have a bar area with TVs so you can spend some time there eating tacos and watching some sports. I said this the last time I went to Torchys Tacos and I'll say it again: I need one of these closer to me!

Yelp
Torchy's has a full bar and sells alcohol now?! Was visiting a friend and we stopped at Torchy's for a bite to eat. It's been a few years since I've eaten at Torchy's so I was surprised when I saw drink specials on the menu at this location and walked around the checkout and saw a full bar. Drink wasn't a heavy pour, but was still tasty. And it was the perfect complement to gnoshing on chips and queso. Staff was friendly as always, and tacos on point. Only thing missing was the little brownies I used to get that had different flavors, but I barely missed them after a couple drinks.
google avatar

Ahra J.

Yelp
If you want a loaded taco check out Torchy's! I can eat a lot of tacos but maybe 2 are enough as they load up the fillings ! I will say that some of the tacos we got were on the salty side so be warned! I got the trailer park (good), democrat (very salty), tipsy chick (very salty) and the beef fajita (ok). The price isn't bad either... I just thought the food was overly seasoned imo. They have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. The selection of tacos are excellent as well as there is something for everyone. For those that like spice they have a sauce but personally didn't think it was that spicy .
google avatar

Uday M.

Yelp
Wanted to try the couple of vegetarian options here: the Fried Avocado taco and the Mofaux taco. The refried beans in each taco didn't really help bring out the flavor and the fried avocado itself was underwhelming, although the Impossible beef in the Mofaux was good. This location had a nice interior and an okay wait time to get our food.

Yelp
First time sitting down at Torchy's and would def recommend/return. We ordered the half order of hillbilly queso since she was a first timer (def shoulda ordered the full) and she loved it. We also had the grande burrito..she had chicken and I had beef..very tasty. Normally I'm not a burrito person (I'm huge on textures) but thought why not. The burritos were good def top 5. We also had the churros..also very tasty..they had the perfect amount of crunch and cinnamon sugar on the outer and the center was oooey goodness. Service was good. I originally planned to have a margarita but ended up getting a fountain drink but we say a few feet from the bar and witnessed the margarita mix being made and I should've gone for it..I was able to smell the liquor so I know those margaritas weren't for the weak.

Jae S.

Yelp
The hostess should make it a lot less obvious when she is greeting and taking people's orders differently based on their race. Won't elaborate further because she knows exactly what she did. The difference was stark and she should be ashamed of herself.
google avatar

Edwyn A.

Yelp
I've been going to Torchy's back when they were just food truck so it's nice to go to their newer generation brick and mortar restaurants. This is one of the newer designed locations with a modern interior and a bar. I forgot how big these tacos are. One taco is definitely filling. My favorite is the fried avocado. I accidentally ordered two tacos and was way too full. I took off a point because although Muller is all pretty and modern the parking sucks.
google avatar

Erika B.

Yelp
I came here for the first time on Sunday, and I was not impressed at all. I had high hopes that this place was going to give good food, but it honestly disappointed me a lot. Maybe it's because I'm Mexican, and I know my tacos, but these were not very tasty at all. The only tacos which were alright were the shrimp and the salmon, but the migas taco was terrible, the drinks were all right, you can barely taste the alcohol in the bloody Mary. I don't know why torchy's tacos are hyped up so much. Maybe it's the cute mascot.
google avatar

robin b.

Yelp
This is much better than I remember. Tacos are generously filled and delicious and the restaurant is elegantly decorated. The people working here are nice and I'll be back again. Somehow these have become the best tacos in our neighborhood.
google avatar

Yelp
I need a Torchy's in Michigan. Right away. I just love these tacos... fresh, flavorful; but price is slightly higher than what I'd like. The place was empty when I went, and the employee was totally disinterested in chit-chat (what the f*ck is the point of working customer service if you do not like customers?) I was very very sad to find out that the Dirty Sanchez is no longer a menu staple (though, admittedly, it would be better if it had a different name.) Still enjoyed my food and the weather was cool enough to hang on the patio - which is spacious and lovely. Parking is pretty plentiful as well. Overall good Torchy's location.

Van A.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambiance are all great. The food is absolutely delicious. They've seating inside, as well as cozy seating outside
google avatar

Amiee D.

Yelp
I like the atmosphere of this location and surrounding area. In such a popular and convenient location, yet plenty of free parking space. Friendly service, offered us refills on the chips (because of the queso was so delicious), great drink from the bar and of course two thumbs up on the tasty tacos. They definitely not hesitant to load the ingredients. Flavor is amazing, I especially love the green chili pork. They're not only filling your stomach, also satisfying your palate and cravings! Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Yelp
So far, I think I've loved every Torchy's I've ever gone to. This one is no different! Located in a busy shopping strip, parking can either be a migraine or you can park elsewhere and just hoof it. Either way, the food is worth it. I love that no matter what location I go to, the tacos are almost always exactly the same. So when I order my fried avocado, I know exactly what I'm getting. This location is one of the bigger ones, which means you're more likely to get a table. The few times I've eaten there (I usually just order delivery), it has been clean, and the staff nice and knowlageable.

Noah S.

Yelp
Great tocos! Reasonably priced! You must try the salmon toco! Great customer service too!

Yelp
Amazing chain of restaurants in Austin (and other places too!). We don't have Torchy's in California so this was my first time trying it, and I was very impressed. There are plenty of vegetarian friendly options like tacos and salads. Our meat-eating friends loved it too! The guy behind the counter taking our orders was also super nice, and had he not informed us about the infected water supply we might have never known! He could have saved our lives. There's outdoor and indoor seating, but I have to say the outdoor patio is gorgeous and super comfortable. As long as the weather permits, I recommend sitting outside. Fried Avocado Taco - 5/5 worth the hype! I've tried fried avocado at other places, but this one is definitely one of the best. Salad - 5/5 this is a big salad with lettuce, grilled corn, roasted red peppers and more. It was honestly delicious and the portion was a very generous size. If I lived in Austin this would definitely be a go-to!

Yelp
I love me some Torchy's and this location is not a let down. It's always been very clean, trendy decor, the staff friendly and efficient and spacious with a lot of seating. The best part? This is a full bar location! Beer, wine , margaritas and Bloody Mary's. There's also a large deck to sit on outside. In terms of food- the tacos are huge, even a standard breakfast taco. The queso has always been hot and delicious. I personally enjoy the Mr Orange and the fried portobello mushroom taco (the pickled carrots!). The trailer park and migas taco also never disappoint. The cons- parking is terrible. It's in a corner of a very busy plaza- they have like 6 popular businesses crammed into that corner of the plaza and just not enough parking. Also, the entrance. When you come in it's a tiny little walkway that turns a corner to the register. So if you want to stop and review the menu, like I did with a party of 6 who had never been there, you have to flatten yourself against the wall so people can get around you. It was super awkward. Also when it's busy, the line can easily go out the door because there's not a lot of space. It's also impossible to see in the restaurant and check out seating while waiting. However, I love having a torchys on this side of town and it's worth a visit!
google avatar

Melissa T H.

Yelp
I liked my lunch here... it's a hip casual place, mix of business people, families, so all are welcome. I ordered 2 different tacos and some chips and salsa (a la cart.). It's fast casual so you order at cashiers and food gets delivered to your table. The tacos had great flavor, and the salsa wa spicier than I had expected. I wish there was a San Diego type fish taco available.... but the ones I got were very tasty.
google avatar

Yelp
Best in town!!!! Queso first , then taco of the month...........mic drop! Service is great!

Yelp
Torchy's Tacos Mueller is undeniably one of my favorite taco restaurants in Austin. Heck, perhaps in all of Texas! They do the Tex-Mex tacos so well that I bring all my visiting friends and family there whenever they travel to the lone star state for the first time. So far, everyone that has tried Torchy's has loved it! Besides serving killer tacos (I'm looking at you, Dirty Sanchez) and killer spicy sauce sauce (that diablo sauce is perfect), this particular location is very spacious and features airport-inspired architecture and photographs, a tribute to the Robert Mueller Municipal Airport that used to operate in the area from 1930 to 1999, replaced by the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in South Austin. But enough with municipal history! Let's talk some more about the food... the warm and tasty green chile queso and chips, their gigantic burritos for those who have a black hole for a stomach, super affordable and customizable breakfast tacos, delicious drinks from the bar... It's perfect. I'm in love. I've been in love for 3 years and there's no signs of stopping. Thinking of their tacos and salivating, is that how Pavlov's dog feels? My husband's looking at me weird right now...

Yelp
Was Super excited check out this famous taco joint. Place is in a shopping plaza. Cool place ample amount of seating. Also later found out they havvw multiple locations and that the other ones may be better. We had a big group but easily got seating. You order once you walk in and they give you a number and you sit and they bring your food out. Semi chipotle style. Queso was good it was a bit thicker with avacado/meat in it. 7/10 It was good but also very thick and heavy. We pretty much had all the tacos and they are good but aLso very heavy. I would do compare the tacos here to sushi where you have your regular rolls and then specialty rolls. This place has straight specialty. All flour tortillas single, very loaded so two is a solid amount if you have queso and other stuff. It's good stuff but sometimes a bit over the top but worth the try. Trailer park 8/10 Scallywag 8/10 Bushfire 8/10 Crossroads 7/10 Me orange. 8/10 Corn was 6/10 different but ok My burrito on the other hand was horrible, it was cold the inside was not melted or warmed and the tortilla was way to thick. 2/10 Our wait was VERY long Overall good tacos, good prices long wait, ok queso and horrible burritos. Worth a visit.

Yelp
I dislike leaving bad reviews but am a firm believer that if it's not made known, then it won't get better. This review is mostly regarding the poor quality of service and hospitality my boyfriend and I received from the employees at this location specifically. This was my first time eating here, we arrived on a Friday night to order takeout. We placed our order and while waiting, my boyfriend wanted to check the cost of the items and went back to the register to ask for a receipt. He was told they could not supply the receipt, because he could not recall the exact total cost of the transaction. He was asked to check his bank transactions online. This was an absurd ask in order to retrieve a receipt for the purchase he made not even 5 minutes prior. He asked to speak with the manager because of this. When he asked a different employee, he was simply told where the manager was located. Did not offer to bring them out, or offer reason for their preoccupation. Not sure if they expected us to go look for the manager ourselves, but this was a poor example of good hospitality. Thirdly, when our food finally came out (30+ minutes later), my boyfriend crossed paths with an employee and asked if one of those takeout bags they were holding were for "insert name" (us). She said yes, and then continued walking to the front to place the bag on the front takeout shelf. All of these actions were strange acts of inconsideration that did not leave us excited to return. The food was also not as good as others have hyped it up to be. I may have to give it another try at a different location as the service left a bad taste in my mouth before we even tried the food.

Yelp
Good food and drinks price is fair for what you are getting and the queso is awesome. Service was amazing everyone was friendly.

Yelp
Being familiar with Torchy's hot sauce, I was super excited to finally try Torchy's tacos. First off, looking at the menu, there were so many different options I wanted to try! I ended up getting the Republican and the jerk chicken, but I also got a bite of the Democrat. The tacos are decently portioned and filled to the brim with deliciously seasoned meat and toppings. I also loved that each taco came with a special sauce on the side. The downside is that I do think the tacos were a bit more on the expensive side, but it's still worth it considering they don't skimp on the fillings. I highly recommend getting the green chile chips and queso. It's perfectly cheesy with a bit of a kick and is definitely worth spending money on.

Yelp
3.5 stars: My local friend described Torchy's Tacos as the McDonald's of Tacos, and I think this is a pretty accurate statement. The tacos are fun, fast and casual, but you can get superior and more authentic tacos elsewhere - it's Austin! Pros: - Fun ambiance - Free refills with a myriad of standard and local soda brands - Big portions - Delicious rice and beans Cons: - The corn tortilla was too thick, I prefer thin and stretchy - While I enjoyed my Monk Special (eggs, bacon, green chiles & cheese with tomatillo sauce), the bacon bits were a bit tough

Without any doubt, they have by far the best queso in Austin which I thoroughly enjoyed; however, I couldn't taste any alcohol whatsoever in my sangria swirl.

Yelp
The food is delicious and everything I tried was so good! My favorite was the Democrat! Flavors were awesome and meat was so tender. It's definitely worth the wait. The only reason for 4 stars is because the place was pretty messy when I visited. They were flies everywhere. You can always get the food Togo though

Yelp
Don't rely on the online ordering through the Torchy website if you are on a strict time crunch for lunch. Second time ordering and order wasn't available 15 minutes after the pick up time I selected. Both times it appears they only started making my meal after I asked them to check in on it. Love ordering food and not having time to eat it.
