Torchy's Tacos

Man, am I glad I decided to give them a try. I was in the area for a project, it was early morning and I decided to give it a go. The breakfast Tacos are really filling. And the brisket...it was flavor packed! The Steak breakfast taco is also amazing. I tried both their salsas. The red is spicy, but not intolerable. The green sals had a very smooth and rich taste. I am definitely stopping by when I'm in the area again to try the lunch options!

Really loved the tacos. I had the brushfire. It wasn't too spicy and was delicious. You might have a hard time parking in front. The location is good. They have indoor and outdoor dining spaces . The staff is great as well

We ordered again today for lunch to be delivered for 6 people. Ordering and delivery was smooth and fast. From start to finish we received our order within 25 minutes. I ordered the crossroads and 1/2 order of the queso. Usual great taste, food was still warm, everyone had the same experience with their lunch. However we did not receive 2 tacos we ordered so some had to share otherwise someone would not had any lunch. Very disappointing when you do not receive your entire order. We ordered lunch here, 2 days ago and just getting around to leaving a review. We ordered for 7 people. Food was made and delivered pretty quickly. Everyone received everything they ordered and everything was correct nothing messed up with orders. Food arrived warm and was very good. Torchy’s is very consistent with the food, not only at the same location, but different locations as well. I have been to 4 different locations and it is always good. This location gave us great customer service. If you like Torchy’s this location is one of the best.

Very friendly place and always hopping in there. I like the walk-up bar from outside, and the food is always good. I haven’t had any dish that I didn’t like. And LOVE the queso. The ordering kiosks are a nice touch, too. My order was incorrect the last time I ate there, but they quickly fixed it. I eat here often.

Not sure if the tacos are good but the ambience and music is so cool ☺️

While it's self order, the staff is incredibly friendly. And then once you get your food, they're very attentive to anything you might need. And the food was phenomenal

Whether you're there for a quick bite or to hang out with friends, the space feels just right. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every taco was bursting with flavor, made fresh, and served hot. The ingredients tasted high-quality, and the creativity in their taco combinations truly sets Torchy’s apart. Don’t even get me started on the queso—hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. But what really made our visit unforgettable was the service. Alicia, our server, was an absolute rockstar. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. She made great recommendations, kept our drinks full, and made sure we had everything we needed with a smile on her face the entire time. There was also another lady working the floor—unfortunately, we didn’t catch her name—but she was equally fantastic. She checked in on us, helped clear our table quickly, and created an all-around positive and upbeat experience. It’s rare to find a place that nails it across the board—food, service, and atmosphere—but Torchy’s pulled it off effortlessly. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks again to Alicia and the whole team for making our lunch so enjoyable!

This place is extremely hard to find parking. The nearby lots all are dedicated for this businesses with towing enforced. The street parking in front of Torchy's is limited and I had to circle 3/4 times before I could find a spot. I almost gave up and decided to eat somewhere else. Only after looking at reviews did I find there is additional parking out back. I wish it was more noted for these businesses. I always order their republican and today was no difference. This location is just as good as their other location and I really enjoyed my tacos. I decided to try their Mexican rice as well and it was pretty good. Their ranch dip is great as well. The atmosphere is loud and lively, great for hangouts. I would recommend torchys if you haven't tried before.

Yummy and quick tacos for anyone needing a quick fix for lunch or dinner. The first thing that caught my eye is all the unique taco flavor combinations (really made it hard to choose). After carefully analyzing the menu, I settled for the Matador, Mr.Orange, and 3ct Lil Nookies. Out of the two, Mr.Orange was definitely my favorite. The meat was great and the taco came with lots of toppings. I was less of a fan of the Matador and in general felt the tacos were a little overpriced. The Lil Nookies were good but very oily and they fell apart very easily. The service was super quick and they finish orders very quickly. Great option for large group orders!

Good, good and good! Was ooking for some good tacos while in Dallas and this place did not disappoint. I got the Jerk Chicken taco, the Baja Shrimp and the Chicken Fajita. All were really good and very plentiful, each one came with a different sauce. The chips and salsa was good and spicy. I also had a Tequila Sunrise and it was ok had a little too much juice. If I had one complaint it was the young lady that was cleaning off tables, not sure if she was just having a day, overworked or just a mean ass but I greeted her with a " I hope you have a better day!" She grunted lol!!

Why offer dine in but have multiple staff members who don't make eye contact or greet customers past a grunt? Seriously who doesn't even pour a water for a dine in customer? Even asking the cashier for dine in didn't get entered because the ticket was stapled to a to go bag. I mean, if staff cared about service it's a nice spot to bring early risers who go to the Recess gym nearby.

Tacos are overrated - both baja shrimp and chicken fajita taco. Doesn't live up to the hype! Barely any flavours coming through - tacos were just assembled without any seasoning. Neither the guacamole nor the pico de galle had any seasoning! This was a takeout so cannot comment on the service or ambience.

If you like tacos, you're going to LOVE Torchy's! Located near SMU campus, this was our second time here with my son. The ambiance (4/5) is pretty cool--kind of an irreverent feel, similar to Jimmy John's. The service (4/5) is pretty basic. It is a fast food restaurant. You order, pay, get your food, and seat yourself. But the food (5/5) doesn't taste like fast food. The beef (5/5) in my "democrat" taco was outstanding, as was the green salsa (5/5) that comes on the side. They have a lot of great taco combinations, but don't leave without trying the "democrat." Highly recommended!!

Welp! The Business owner didn't lie when they said to come back so they can turn my original review around!! Honestly Marian (SP?!) was the redeemer here!! She was so friendly during our order, she even came over to check on us when the line died down to make sure all was good! It was just a nice touch that she kept an eye on us through out our time there. As stated in my original review the employees expediting the food were friendly and fast! In fact, the same guy from my first review was back at it again; we didn't get a touch point this time with him but the girl who did bring us everything was also so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Service is quick, our food came out before our drinks from the bar did - seemed the manager was working the bar so my thought is he had to stand in for someone who didn't make it to work that night. Just watching the crowd come and go and pick up orders flying out too, they were on top of it. I overheard there was a mix up with a delivery order or something and the guy helping them apologized for their experience and asked to make it up to them by getting their food out right away. Look forward to coming back...and I will!

I've never tried Torchy's so I finally ordered food for three people. I hadn't seen two friends in a long time so we ordered it to go and hang out. The portions are small for the price and nothing had flavor. Velvet Taco does it better in every way. The reason I'm leaving the review is all three of us got food poisoning. I will never order from here again!

As a franchise, it's not bad. The tacos are so-so despite them being so hyped, in my opinion. Other taco places, such as Velvet Tacos, were better. The queso dip (their specialty), however, is worth trying. I personally loved their salad bowl, which is filled with lots of fixins (so much so that I actually wished it had more greens in it). It does get a little crowded inside, but there's a cute outdoor area for group seating, so on a warm day, this place can hold quite a few folks.

Torchy's is a neighborhood staple and of course if you're in Dallas you need to go. I personally find the tacos to be quite salty but if you're in need of some sustenance it's a reliable place. On the weekends this location will likely be packed but it's easy to find a seat or take your tacos to go. For better parking, go around back to the parking lot and there will likely be an open spot inside or outside.

Torchy's tacos sells great food at a very affordable price. The restaurant has prices cheaper than most fast food places and is higher quality. The inside and outside seating is very high quality.

Not sure why this location doesn't get the credit it deserves. The quality of food is consistently good, online ordering process is so smooth for pick up orders, and the customer service is on it. Always enjoy the creamy queso, fried avocado taco, the trailer park (make it trashy), and the damn good frozen margaritas. Pro tip: ask them to add tajin on the rim. Boom. One thing to note, DOWNLOAD THEIR APP. When I check in on the app, I'm always surprised to redeem a free taco/free app/etc.

Have been coming to this Torchy's since it first opened up years ago.. the vibe here has always been cool, and the set up of the restaurant is awesome. It has a full service bar area, an indoor dining area, and a couple outdoor dining areas that have TV's you can watch from as well! The food has always been great here. I usually just get one of their breakfast tacos, which are reasonably priced, especially for how much you're getting in return. I will say the staff here is the one hang up. While I've had times where the service was great, I've also had times where the service was very dodgy and it wasn't even busy inside. So basically, there wasn't much of an excuse either.. All in all, I'd definitely recommend checking this Torchy's out, especially if you live in the SMU area and are only a walk or so away!

This wasn't my first time at Torchy's. I had been to one in Austin before, so this was my second time here. I came with my girlfriend as we were in Dallas for a few days, and this was the closest one to our hotel. We called an uber to take us to and from Torchy's. Yes we wanted it that bad. We got the queso and chips and then a few tacos. We got the trailer park and the tipsy chick tacos. We love these tacos. They are super filling and taste so good. Comes with all the fixins too. They have plenty of other tacos to choose from, depending on what you like, so you're bound to find something you like. This Torchy's is right on SMU campus, so it's more of a college type of Torchy's, but still good nonetheless. I definitely recommending visiting Torchy's if you ever find yourself in Texas. They do have locations all across the country though.

Almost everyone agrees Torchy's has the best queso, regardless if you go to just a taco place or a full-service Mexican restaurant. However, their tacos do not get enough love. They are amazing!!! The shrimp is seasoned so well, and even their avocado taco made me want to eat avocado more. I'll stop by and get more tacos one day!

This location is always great. Joshua the bartender is the man. Tacos and queso always hit.

I'm not from Dallas, but asked a fellow Yelper from CT for recommendations, and he mentioned this place. I ordered 3 tacos and a side (figured I'd try as much as I could). I ordered the orange man, the Tokyo drifter and trailer trash. The orange man was my favorite! I ordered the rice as a side. I had one of their margaritas. Everything was pretty good, quality was decent, and I liked the variety. I'd probably check it out again if given the chance, since we don't have Torchy's back East.

The lady was nice when I came in and picked up but idk the food was okay. Its super small, definitely not worth the money. I'd rather go to velvet taco for the price and the amount of food that goes into it. Definitely very stingy and I find my limes IN MY TACO. Not even on the side.

The manager, Tara, is incredibly helpful, quick, and flexible! We had a large ($500+) order online that glitched out and wouldn't let me submit, and Tara spent over 30min on the phone with me as I read 33 individual orders to her. Though the process was long, it was necessary and she was so fast to know what I wanted! We were able to pick up our food within 1.5 hours and everything was ready early. The team bagged everything up for us, and all of the food order was correct (just 1 order was missing, for churros, but it's a super small error for such a large order!) Everyone loved their food at our dinner and flavors were very good. Thank you, Tara & team!!

I've had decent experiences with Torchy's prior but nonetheless feel like this is worth reporting. My breakfast taco delivered via DoorDash this Am had a massive hair that was stuck probably in the cheese but was an alarming discovery when I opened the foil. Probably worth noting a potential hygiene issue in the kitchen.

The place is a total mess, filthy, sticky, tables covered in food. No one cleans. Gross. When purchasing the meal, the default lowest tip is 18%... for what?! This isn't a place with service. You order your own food, you have to clean your table, the food arrives late and cold. I don't mind tipping but it is for something, not an entitlement to support indifferent and snarky workers. The girl working the cash register is fussy. We had a second order and it was taking a long time so I asked her to please check on it. She immediately snapped at me and was bothered that I asked her ( very politely) to check on an order the was soon discovered was forgotten. Ugh. What the hell happened to Torchy's. It used to be a decent place. It is filthy now and the people make it worse. It's horrible.

This torchys has thee best bloody Marys! And Jake is amazing! I love the atmosphere here, and all staff are always amazing and welcoming. Thank you!

Good food, quick eats, options for drinks if needed. The dirty Santa Claus is a favorite of mine. Service is always solid.

Visited a friend in Dallas who took us to this establishment. Atmosphere was a little chaotic and overwhelming but it was fun nonetheless. Service was nothing to rave about but it was efficient. The food was surprisingly good! Growing up in San Diego, we were always told that Tex Mex sucked and though it was different, I still enjoyed it!

Absolutely some of the best tacos in Dallas. Great setting with a cool vibe. Interesting taco combinations.

My girlfriend and I had a great experience at this location last weekend. The hillbilly trailer park taco has become a new favorite and the server Jake did a great job refilling our chips. Thank y'all!

Every time I have came to this place they bring nothing but good food and smiles out, I love it here and I will recommend this place each and every time. Brooklyn is the best and she takes really good care of here customer. I just love her, thanks torchy.. you have the best workers and the best tacos I've ever had, from the unique saucues to the tacos.

Hands down the best queso I've had in Texas, and it's vegetarian! Chips are light and crisp...Delicious!!!!

Will never be coming back cashier was extremely nice but manager was extremely rude and unhelpful they re did my food 3 times and still could not get it right definitely do not recommend !

What in the world is this? I spend 6 dollars on a taco and get this? Also, it's a trailer park, supposed to be fried chicken and this is grilled. Look how small the contents of this taco are. The tortilla is twice the size. I spent 50$ here tonight and I have had it with torchy's going worse and worse with their quality and portions. This always happens with the trailer park taco too. Never eating here again. I can't even get in touch with anyone at torchy's about this experience. I sure hope someone reaches out.

Better than Velvet Taco in my opinion!! I got the Democrat taco, fried shrimp taco and fried avocado taco. The fried shrimp taco was my favorite for sure, the shrimp was beautifully cooked and super flavorful. The fried avocado taco was a bit heavy on the pinto beans but overall, everything was so delish that I didn't mind! Would definitely come back to give other tacos a go :)

A huge fan of Torchy's Taco but definitely NOT a fan of this location. Came to Torchy's on my lunch break and left unhappy due to the lack of common sense from the janitor and the lack of sense of urgency from the manager. First, the janitor is doing a full spring cleaning of the restroom at 1pm. At 1pm it's the lunch rush, where the restroom should have been cleaned prior. Standing there waiting patiently for 5 mins, knowing lunch is ending, I ask the janitor if I could use the restroom and was told no! No? Furthermore, I asked the food runner if he could get the manager. Once again, waiting patiently for the manager for another 7 minutes, is unacceptable when a guest has a complaint. The manager, Erica, later found me and asked how she could she help. After explaining the restroom situation, she begins to proceed with an explanation about a contract which has nothing to do with the guest. Moral of the story, I was unable to use to the restroom during my lunch due to the lack of customer service and never felt like my customer needs were met.

Great clean Torchy's location. Jake was very helpful. The crossroads taco is a must try.

Their queso is definitely better than taco deli's. But their tacos are okay. I like that there are inventive options, like the brushfire. A solid 3-4 star spot consistently. For queso and four tacos it's about $28, a bit overpriced. I think their quality has fallen over the years, as they have gotten more commercial, but still a solid spot.

Jake was the best! Really great service and the food was delicious. Would definitely come here again.

Always a great day when you start with a Torchy's Taco!!! Nani was great and helpful when I had a hard time deciding! Casual atmosphere near SMU. Highly recommend.
