Some good tacos .... had the beef fajita and the republican tacos both really good ... friendly staff nice facilities clean restaurant...

4.99 for this? If you're going to charge premium prices for tacos, then you have to maintain quality. I think corporate should be involved in making sure locations follow quality expectations for everyone involved especially the customer

I know I’m late so don’t come for in the comments lol just kidding. This was my 1st time eating at Torchy’s. Went to the one on Gessner Road near I-10. Got breakfast tacos went with the Migas and Ranch hand tacos. Both were very tasty. Nice size portions. The ranch hand was eggs with steak and a cheese blend and Diablo sauce. Very good sauce made it even better if u like a lil kick but not extremely hot. Migas eggs with avocado, tortilla strips, green chiles. Very good as well. Tacos are a bit pricey but nice size and taste is very good. Also got a side of guacamole and chips. Besides the price no complaints. Atmosphere was good, staff was super cool and food was tasteful. Will try the lunch menu next time

Yummy tacos but it is overpriced. If only there was less cheese on some of the tacos… anyways I recommend the Crossroads taco. The beef and the sauce is delicious and I love avocado! The staff were super sweet as well!

It’s been a few years since I had gone to a Torchy’s before this and I totally forgot how good it was! We ordered the street corn, tipsy chick taco, brushfire taco, Baja shrimp taco, Democrat taco, and lil nookies. The tacos were absolutely STUFFED and they were so flavorful and delicious. The brushfire one was my favorite but it sure was spicy! A great place for unique flavors and varied options

Meredith was Great taking our order! However on this day the area where you order was uncomfortably warm! Not how you wanna feel when eating dinner! The back dinning area was ok, However it appeared very dusty and dirty on table tops. Looks like not enough people working! I was very pleased with food and Guacamole and Green Chile Queso! Especially finding out you can order a half order! Location is very nice and modern just a lil rough on cleanliness and temperature!

I'm just here to shout out Evelyn because I believe that great service will make you return to any food establishment regardless of their shortcomings. My food always meets expectations, but what really made my day on this visit was walking in to see someone smiling. Evelyn offered me a water cup because she knew I would be waiting for my to-go order which may be standard protocol, but it made me feel seen and cared for. My heart was simply warmed by our interaction because she had such a kind spirit, and I personally don't see that often... It was truly refreshing, and I think everyone deserves to hear JOB WELL DONE at work when they're rocking it! Thank you for starting my morning on the right vibe Torchy's!!

Always a standby favorite. Everything on the menu is a good recommendation.

Mexican food done right. Service and atmosphere: Cool and clean restaurant with modern and relaxing surroundings. They offer seating inside and outside plus there is good number of parking spaces. Service was friendly. Food and drinks: They offer Mexican food with many tasty options on the menu. They have breakfast items served all day too. My favourite was the artisan salad with grilled chicken. All our dishes were nicely plated and tested very good. Good seasoning and balanced flavours. This restaurant offers alcoholic beverages as well. Next time I will try their signature margaritas with house made margarita mix. Pricing: $$ definitely worth it!

This Torchy's located is located on Gessner and just south of Westview. Plenty of parking available. The menu comprises of fusion style tacos and sides. I got the hillbilly queso (cheese and some jalapeño peppers and other high calorie goodness in there), and two trailer park tacos as well as a migas taco. The queso was solid and you can always refill chips if you run out. The trailer park tacos comprise of a piece of fried chicken tender with a ranch style sauce. I remember the chicken having a much better batter and taste in the past so it was a bit disappointing coming back to Torchy's after a while and seeing the taco being a bit lower quality than before. It was my first time trying to migas taco and I did not enjoy it in general. Overall, Torchy's is a decent chain spot for non traditional tacos and its menu has enough choices to have something everyone might enjoy. Definitely pick and choose carefully but you can't go wrong with the queso.

Pros - fast service - easy menu with plenty of options for everyone - had both types of queso and both were amazing - tacos were all large and filling (probably 2-3 tacos per adult) - they have happy hour!! - easy parking - clean and spacious interior - everything was well maintained including self serve area of drinks! Love Torchy's! They're consistent in their flavor across various locations and one of my go to places when I'm back in Texas!

My fiance and I went here tonight when in town - we needed a snack before dinner and hadn't had lunch so we wanted something smaller. I had the Democrat taco with beef barbacoa but unfortunately wasn't a huge fan of it - it was sweet, which I wasn't expecting. He had the Tipsy Chick taco which was very good (I took a bite). We also split the Hillbilly queso, which came with guac, chorizo, and cilantro in it, and it was delicious. Pricing is about $5.75+ per taco, and the queso was $8.25. I'd come back here again but overall wouldn't order the Democrat taco; it just wasn't to my liking.

If you like real tacos you won't come here. I was with friends so I put away the subjective need for authenticity in a taco. They are good and so is liquid Velveeta in nachos, right? I rated it higher than it deserved because it's got that gringo vibe to the food. That, and my tortillas were cracking and falling apart because they were old. Meh.

Service was great and staff was friendly. I came in with a friend and put a take-out order for a trailer park trashy and the loaded tots. The wait was minimal, and considering there were quite a few parties ahead of us also waiting for their orders, I feel we got our meal quite quickly. When we got home, I was absolutely disappointed that my loaded tots were not loaded whatsoever. It was just tots with bacon sprinkled on top. I reached out to customer service to request a refund on my tots and of course didn't get a response.

Great location with a ton of parking. Nice spot to bring the kids, they have plenty of outdoor seating and space to run around. Torchy's is a full on chain on this point, but I feel they've never compromised the original taste and flair they had 10-12 years ago when they first came over from Austin. Walk up counter and the occasional quirky cashier, with a fairly straight forward menu. You know what they have at this point. Unique tacos and surprisingly reasonably priced drinks that also are of a good quality. Queso and chips are borderline elite. And there's a taco for everybody here. Monthly rotation for seasonal tacos. Love swinging by on a weekend morning for a breakfast order as well! Little nookies are a fun treat from time to time if you like cookie dough.

Quick service and food. Crossroads tacos were delicious! The brisket was soft and well seasoned. Green Chile Queso & Chips had the right amount of heat.

Outside of rolling the dice and getting super lucky finding the exact right little food truck, Torchy's has THE BEST tacos. They're not ALL the best, but tons of them are among the best I've ever had. And I've had so so so so so SOOOOO many tacos from all over Houston. Of the 53 different Torchy's Tacos I've had, at least 19 of them rank among the best ever. If you have a laughable need to prioritize "authenticity", Torchy's is NOT what you're looking for. If you're prioritizing actual flavor, Torchy's is EXACTLY what you're lookin for.

Every time I come here the service gets more and more dismal. Still waiting on a two taco order...it's not the managers fault though because they have pink eye. Cool, cool.

Pros: -Fast service -Indoor and outdoor seating -Bar area to watch sports -Flavorful - the bacon marmalade is memorable Cons: -Price should be no more than $4 a taco. -No meal combos, I would appreciate a 3 for 10 or something.

Always a favorite, but instead of our usual to go order, we enjoyed in person dining. Hillbilly Queso and chips is a warm, cozy welcome. I was overjoyed to see Alabama Shakes as the Taco of the Month. Delicious! My husband's Beef Fajita tacos were superb.

Went here for dinner on 4/23 - party of 3. We had the following: Queso + Chips - 5/5 - This was delicious. Hard to go wrong with a good queso, this had just a hint of spice which added to a nice flavor profile. I thought eh accompanying chips were fine but my wife thought they could have been crispier. Grande Burrito (beef & beans) - 4/5 - I thought the burrito was very flavorful. I would definitely order again. It tends to lean on the side of a bit salty which I didn't mind. The accompanying salsas were good but I asked for a bowl of pico de gallo which I thought was very good. Democrat Tacos (shredded beef) - This is what my daughter had. She really liked them and said she would give them a 4/5. Trailer Park Taco (fried chicken) - My wife had this and did not like. She said the fried chicken tasted like it wasn't made fresh. Brushfire Taco (Jamaican jerk chicken) - My wife had this as well and also did not like. My daughter and I would definitely go back. My wife thought overall the food was salty, did not taste fresh and would not go back.

Come here occasionally and service is always- bar tender is excellent. Rode out the storm there this evening and the staff was incredible and professional. Thank you for putting us all at ease, y'all were amazing in an extraordinary situation.

I love the servers, especially at the bar. The drinks are superb each time. My only gripe is how salty their chips are. I always ask for unsalted.

Had to request a refund because I waited for 50+ minutes and still hadn't gotten my order and when I asked the woman at the register how long it would take, the only response I got was I don't know. The excuse I got was that the kitchen didn't have my ticket, and she didn't know until after 30 minutes of me waiting. I have had 2 previous bad experiences with this location, and I tried to give it another chance...but this is truly bad customer service. The manager didn't even offer any apologies about the delay, was very upset that I requested a refund. Not one employee was helpful. 0/10 do not recommend.

We love Torchy's and find ourselves there at least once a week. The food is always fresh and delicious. The friendly staff is always spot on and we feel like we know them as we go there a lot.

The lady at the bar was really nice and attentive, but I do not think taking 30 mins to make 2 tacos is acceptable, and the queso was half warm. Terrible food experience.

The cashier was friendly, and the service was fast. So it pains me to say the following chips and queso were good, but the corn tortillas on the tacos were too overpowering and ruined the taco for me. I don't remember the heights location being like this. I had a barbacova taco, and it was too salty. Their salsas didn't even have a hint of being spicy. They were more like salad dressing. 2nd visit here is a no. Sorry, I was disappointed but that's just me being a judgemental Mexican towards texmex tacos. I'm sorry

One would think that any bartenders you hire would have some sense of urgency, be able to multi-task properly, hustle a little. This girl has ZERO of any of that--no matter the line almost out the door, the dirty bar, the people waiting at the bar to order a drink. She's milling around at a snails pace with a smirk on her face. Not to mention only one cashier on the shift. Do they even hire real managers here anymore? Absolutely horribly run location.

We have loved Torchy's in Austin for almost 20 years and supported the new locations all over Houston. This particular location is good in terms of real estate and ambiance; however, they suffer with staffing personalities. The last 3 times we visited we waited at cash register for almost 10 minutes wondering if anyone would take our order. Only a few staff members ever smile or seem to care about customers. The food is usually good (sometimes chicken is burned) & queso always delish; so I am really hopeful the service aspect gets fixed. The vibe is amazing at most other Torchy's locations but the employees on Gessner do not want to wipe down a table and they could care less if a customer wants to order, eat or have a good time there. Hope that can be fixed!

Outdoor seating was great. Can't go wrong with democrats (my favorite). The food did take little longer than expected.

I visited here for lunch last weekend ordering two of their tacos. My choices were grilled shrimp with a corn tortilla and a beef fajita on a flour tortilla. Both were almost the same price at just under $5 each and with a soft drink the meal came to $13 and change. After ordering at the counter and getting my drink it took almost 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Both tacos were good to eat but the beef was chewy and I wish I had gone with the chicken. Both tortillas were fresh too. While the food was decent taste wise (except for the tough beef), the meal didn't pull me back for another visit any time soon. There is plenty of parking available here along with both indoor and outdoor seating available.

I picked up a large to-go/catering order here for a work event at nearby Kirby's Ice House recently and while the food was all in order, we were not given serving utensils, plates, napkins, cutlery, etc. this certainly made enjoying the delicious queso and fajitas a bit tricky and we ended up having to buy some. Obviously not the end of the world, but if the catering orders do not come with those items, it would have been a good thing to know since we assumed it was truly a ready-to-eat situation. If the orders do come with it and we paid extra for nothing, then frustrating in that aspect as well. On the food front, the chips and queso are always a crowd pleaser and the fajitas were yummy as well - we didn't have much leftover, so the food was definitely a hit. All in all, an ok experience that ended up fine, but caused a little heartache. Not a reason to not come here again, but I know what questions to ask next time we do a catering order again!

i had heard a lot about torchys taco so when in houston decided to check it out. i didn't have time to dine in so i ordered online for pickup. online ordering was very easy and simple i got the impossible meat taco, the fried avocado sampler, 1/2 order of guacamole and 1/2 order of corn. the guacamole, avocado salsa and corn were huge portions. the fried avocado was interesting. the impossible beat taco had good flavor and the corn tortilla was good overall decent tex-mex food

Not sure why this place only has 3 stars. The place looks great and has good vibes and there is a wide variety of taco choices. I got the Beef Fajita Taco and Trailer Park Taco (fried chicken). Both were pretty solid! It's a little pricy which is why I am going with 4 stars instead of 5, but otherwise totally worth checking out.

After the horrible experience I had at Torchy's, I will never be coming back and regret ever purchasing a gift card. This company is a huge scam and makes it hard on the customer to order anything. Clearly service staff hasn't been improved since people complain about it and all the Torchy's Business Owner states to give feedback. What's the point if you don't do anything to fix the problem? Rude manager and some staff members being completely clueless. Staff clearly not trained properly on products and manager very rude and clearly not trained well in customer service on how to speak with a frustrated customer. I'm going to places where I can order over the phone and speak with someone or order online, not order via AI or have to go in-store to place an order to get items. I have two young kids, and I'm not waiting a long time for tacos that are still messed up because people can't read directions properly, when I can order online or the app, pick it up quick, but can't add my freebies that I paid for. Torchy's is a scam and not customer friendly! Done done and done with this place! I regret ever purchasing a gift card here and wish I'd get my money back.

We had the best service at this location. The bartender was super friendly and helpful. It seemed like everyone working were all happy to help each other. We normally go to the Heights location, but we've stopped going because it isn't very welcoming and it doesn't seem like the restaurant is well taken care of any more. The staff at this location make the difference. Happy to drive the extra miles for this Torchy's!

*Edited to update* This location must be under new management because the service has improved significantly. The food has always been delicious so I'm happy to see that service has finally caught up.

We went for opening day for a late lunch. After ordering at the counter you are given a pager and your food is brought to your table. They also have lots of designated curbside spots in the parking lot if you are ordering to-go. All of the staff were friendly and courteous, and they were all wearing masks and gloves. We were checked on twice during our meal which was very considerate. We chose to sit on the patio outside and I noticed that the staff were wiping down the tables between patrons. We ordered a variety of tacos: chicken fajita, republican, democrat, Mr. Orange, trailer park and Baja shrimp. Our favorites were the chicken fajita and Baja shrimp. All of the ingredients were fresh and all of the proteins were nicely seasoned and very flavorful. We are fans of Torchy's and will definitely be coming back to this location.

I've tried on several occasions to overlook my food either taking too long to be ready, not have everything, cold like it came from the refrigerator. This visit was the worst! My beans looked like runny diarrhea, they were cold and my order was incomplete. The fact that the manager was quick to say I'll refund your $5.50 and dismiss the consistent inconsistentcy is ridiculous. I not only didn't have dinner it was no loss on her. My husband ate his tacos even though they too were cold.

Our office has gotten take out a few times from torchy's and I really like their Baja shrimp tacos. If you get chips from them it comes in a hugeee bag for like $4 so it's super value. I get salsa with it and it lasts me several days as a snack. I haven't tried the queso but my coworkers like it! I wish the menu had more of a variety though for tacos as I don't find their other options that enticing. Personally I like what red velvet tacos has to offer much more and if it wasn't for my office I probably would not just go out and get torchy's but try it out and see what you think. I just feel like while it's good there are better places

Food was really good. Came out pretty quickly with how busy it was. Got the queso, democrat, and green chili chicken. I preferred the green chili chicken

I've been so excited about this Torchy's opening up! I've been to Torchy's many times so my expectations were high. The atmosphere and overall design of the restaurant is spot on. Very modern and looks so clean. I went for brunch on a Sunday with a few friends and it wasn't busy at all. Lots of seating options and seating outside as well. I also love how big the bar is, lots of room for seating. I ordered a beef fajita taco and a salmon taco, both tasted amazing. Food is always good. Can't wait to enjoy many more times here especially on the patio!

I ordered food for delivery. Dasher canceled the order. Door dash said call torchys. Torchys said call DoorDash. Had to file a dispute with my credit card. No one wants to accept responsibility. I have had problems with this store not refunding my card when an order was canceled and placed at another location.

I came to this location on 5/9/24 and completed my takeout order for Jen at 8:02pm. The cashier said it will be ready in about 10-15 minutes which is totally fine. I checked my phone at 8:24pm and the food wasn't ready yet, cool. I noticed a worker from the back bring out about 3 bags of take-out bags to the front at 8:26pm. I knew that was our food since we were the only ones waiting. The cashier in front, Evelyn was just standing around on her phone while we watched our food getting cold. She only rang one customer so she wasn't too swamped where she couldn't hand us our food (we were standing right in front of her) She then went over to our food that was sitting on the table, looked at them, checked the name, walked away, and went back to being on her phone. At 8:42pm she finally called out our name for our food that has been sitting there getting cold. I was watching her the whole time and when we asked her why she just let our food sit right there, she said "Someone was supposed to call out your name"...yes YOU! We asked to speak with the manager and Evelyn told us the manager was too busy for us. We asked who the manager was and she pointed to an African American pregnant woman that was walking around the vacant sitting area. We went to the manager and told her our concerns and what had happened, and the manager was being extremely dismissive and made us feel like unimportant. She was the same person who brought our food out from the back so she knew how long we have been waiting for our food. She offered to remake our food but we have now wasted over 45 minutes waiting on our food (didn't want to waste more time) and who knows what they will do to our food if we send it back. This is an ongoing issue at this location, we stopped ordering through the mobile app because they would mess that up too. I had an incident when I purchased my food through the app and it processed through on my end and when I got to the restaurant, they said it wasn't completely processed so my order was never started. Torchy Taco's is one of my favorite restaurants but location by far has THE WORST customer service, never a good experience coming to this one.

I tried torchy's tacos for the first time and it was better than I expected. The shrimp taco was amazing. The barbacoa taco was good but very fatty. The guacamole is one of my favorites!

This is purely based on our experiences getting take out but we've had enough issues that we felt it was time to write a review. We've had a lot of pleasant experiences dining in but have never gotten our take out order on time. We placed our order today at 4:19 for a 5:15 pickup and just left the store at 5:41 with our food. Was told there was a problem with the tortilla machine but then about 5 minutes before the food came out was told that they were just waiting on the salad to be done...not sure what that has to do with the tortilla machine. Not to mention my husband was told that our ticket was up next and then watched 3 other customers get their food before ours came out. This is just one of many times we've had this kind of problem doing take out, but being 8.5 months pregnant, I'm a little more sensitive to getting food on time and made it a point to order an hour in advance of when we wanted to pick up.

These tacos were amazing! I really enjoyed how packed it was with the toppings! Definitely worth ordering these two!

Really good gringo style tacos. I just wished they would pay more attention to cleanliness. Pretty much every open table sticky. And the drink station is full of trash being piled up.

Great location, wonderful and friendly staff, and flavorful food. The queso was delicious, but the chips may have been salted a bit too much. Quite a long wait as well.

We are regulars at this location and always leave satisfied. Torchy's serves the best queso in Houston in my opinion. Can't beat it! Their tacos of the month are always fun and creative. All the tacos are large and filling. I usually only need one and my husband usually orders two.

The atmosphere is differently family friendly. The tacos are excellent and the queso is yummy. The margarita is a little sour..

Ordered on the app and come to pickup my lunch. Then found MUD on my salad today- see pic. This is absolutely foul. Support said they would speak with the prep team to make sure they are washing the lettuce better but why wouldn't they be doing that in the first place.

Food was good, front cashier was kind and personable. However the bartender was rude and nasty when ordering a drink, even tasted bad. Not sure his name but had black finger nail polish. The food runner yelled out our number and tossed our food on the table and left. Not once were we checked on. Very over crowded and sticky/ gross surfaces... would not recommend this location.

I am happy that Torchy's has moved into the Medical Center. This is the 4th location in San Antonio. This is lovely a location with rooftop views and patio space overlooking the medical center. This will be a great happy hour spot, or a place to catch a game. I will be going back here again. Same great taste and drinks as always. I came on their opening day this past Saturday. They were supposed to be open on Wednesday but delayed due to the storm. They served free tacos for those in need instead of opening on Wednesday. I believe they will be a good restaurant to continue to make the area more vibrant.

New locations are popping up all over town so it was no surprise to see this location pop up & open its doors. One dreary weekend, H offered to pick up some breakfast & I casually told him that Torchy's open up down the road. With phones in hand, we each hurriedly checked out their menu. With mouth watering I looked at the yummy choices & decided on a potato/egg & a bean/cheese tacos on flour with the avocado sauce (which was marked spicy but hey avocado!). H called in the order for pickup as we were starving & left to pick up our breakfast. Torchy's Tacos travel well & they were bursting as they do not skimp on their taco fillings. The avocado sauce was very spicy which we cut with the roja & tomatillo sauces to cool it down a bit. The tacos were delicious & we were satisfied with our choices. Since then we have been back & tried other offerings: migas taco, the Wrangler (H made it "trashy" with queso added), chorizo/egg. One visit I also picked up their green chili queso which was topped with guacamole, cotija cheese, cilantro, topped with a swirl of diablo sauce. Holy cow! That diablo sauce is VERY spicy! Best to stir the sauce into the rest of the mix. Their chips were really good. A bit thicker than other places but crispy & crunchy. Held the cheese well. Torchy's has made a name for themselves & it is well deserved.

It was my 1st time there, I wasn't sure what was good so I ask for suggestions on the meal. I was feeding 3 people. They just loved the food. My whole experience was amazing. I ordered six BaJa shrimp 1fried avocado and 1 Bushfire All of it was Great. The price wasn't bad either. Management Rocks & Ashley Thank you Ms.Alice

Welcomed us, parents, dogs, kids and all after Kirby's Ice house wouldn't let us in with a 6 month old baby on a Sunday afternoon. Great margs, staff and tacos! Thank you for the great service!
