"Restaurant chain Torchy’s Tacos is expanding yet again with a new location. It’s opening its second Round Rock location in the former pizza restaurant space belonging to P.S. 35 (which closed in November 2017). There is no opening date as of now." - Nadia Chaudhury

Google
Love Torchys, but they came up a bit short today. Beans rice great...queso great.. crossroads, she said was good .. but not all that.. I had the Alabama Shakes on corn..could hardly tell it had Catfish small and no crunch.and it was cold.. I loved the flavor.. but still. The lady at the counter and the guy that brought the food out .. both awesome.. This won't change our opinion torchys is awesome

Couldn't decide what I wanted because there were so many delicious sounding options...so I got a whole feast and I have no regrets. The Mofaux, Mr. Orange, and Baja Shrimp tacos rocked. Loaded street corn and I truly understand now why their queso is award winning. A highlight of my weekend visit.

Google
I seriously cannot believe how good Torchy’s Tacos is. From the moment you walk in the door, you realize why this place is otherworldly. The queso is out of this world. And the tacos aren’t just good tacos, they’re damn good tacos. It will have you contemplating ever trying a different Tex-mex place again. Seriously, how can it get any better than this?

Walked in to order eat in; it was unclear if 1 line served both to go orders and eat in orders. Service was timely and food was delivered to our table quickly. I found that the question should have been hotter(temperature), and I wouldn't mind waiting to have it served so. The flavor of queso was great. Chips were fresh.

Listen These are some damn good tacos! I heard about it but just never went. We were on our way to the outlets in Round Rock, so I said lunch will be “Torchy’s “! So glad we went. We love that hillbilly dip! I ordered a strawberry margarita and it was delicious! We went two days in a row. Don’t walk run to Torchy’s they will not disappoint

I recently visited Torchy's Tacos and had an exceptional experience thanks to the fantastic crew member, Nya. Her friendly service and attentiveness added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. The tacos were flavorful, and the atmosphere was vibrant. I highly recommend Torchy's, and Nya's exceptional service made the visit even more memorable. Five stars all the way!

Loved it here! The service from Amanda C was amazing. Shes super nice and energetic and really made the atmosphere fun. She was also very knowledgeable and quick. Also loved the food and portions, so the cooks were great as well. The vibes were A++ and so was the food & cleanliness. We will definitely be returning to this location. Thank you Amanda!!

We've eaten at Torchy's many times over the years.... It's always a treat, especially now with the tacos being almost $6 each. This last visit was disappointing though. The brisket was sooo dry. This is really poor quality at that price.

Yelp
This was the first stop on my friend and I's "marg tour" around the austin area! I had a Mexican Candy Frozen Margarita with Strawberry (instead of watermelon) and I would definitely say it was a 7/10. I was intrigued by the hot sauce in it and it definitely added a fun little kick to it! My friend had the Mexican Candy Frozen Margarita with Peach (instead of Watermelon) and also rated it a 7/10. Marg Tour Stop #1 ‍

Yelp
Very quaint sized Torchy's. Was not very busy for a Sunday but a nice level of noise. Hostess was so nice and allowed us to use rewards that expired 1 day earlier. So nice. Queso was very tasty and a bit spicy which was nice on such a cold rainy day. Chips very fresh and not greasy at all. Loved hearing all the 80's music playing over the speakers. Was able to sing along while eating. Or head bobbing while chewing. lol. All 4 tacos were barely warm, was very surprised. The salmon was flavorful and a little warm. Toppings very cold. The beef fajita taco was completely cold. From meat to veggies. The shrimp tasted good but cold as well. The sauce for it was nice but did not stand out. The migas was the warmest, temperature wise. Next time, will ask to make sure to have them hot. Will give them another try. Restrooms and the restaurant was very clean - wanted to add that.

Yelp
I Stopped by Today at the Store Around 2pm today with my Son. Waited in the Front line of the restaurant and 2 of your employees walked passed me and continued working. Look at your cameras me and my son waited a long time for nothing. Then an employee stood at another register to get some service and your young female employee who saw my presence preceded to speak with the employee first. At least he was able to recognize I was there prior to be served first. The food wasn't even for me it was for my son . He was able to see the mistreatment that your employees caused me. For a retired service veteran this how you treat people who sacrificed everything for you to sleep well at night. Unacceptable Review your cameras, if you have any doubts Sincerely, Ai Music Ambassador Brandon Allen

Yelp
Passing through Round Rock Texas and wanting to round out our taco tour of Austin and environs brought us to this Torchy's Tacos location. The menu says "Damn Good Tacos" and for sure that's what we got. There are 2 vegetarian options, helpfully labeled with big, obvious, green "V's" on the menu, including an Avocado taco and the "Mofaux." (Though I'm sure they can modify any of the other tacos with the Beyond Beef they use in the Mofaux if you want.) I had the Mafaux, both because it was fun to say, but also because it had all the southwestern flavors I wanted, plus I had them add cheese to it as, why not!?. It was delicious, hearty, and I wanted to eat a million more of them. Their default tortilla is flour, which was also fantastic, but they also offer corn tortilla as a choice in case that's your preference or you're gluten-free. If I found myself in Texas again...Torchy's would definitely be a stop I'd make to get the Mofaux again.

Yelp
Having grown up on tacos all my life, Torchys has some big shoes to fill. We came around 2 and it wasn't too busy at all. The parking lot is a little small for a strip center. So you walk in and place your order at the counter. The cashier was very informative and gave us the spill and overview of the menu and portion sizes. We ended up ordering Democrats no pun intended, lol, but it is a barbacoa taco on a corn tortilla with onions and cilantro and salsa. I also ordered a green chile pork taco with tomatillo sauce on tortilla de maiz. I wanted some of their bar libations, but it wasn't happy hour yet, lol. That runs from 3 to 7. We also complimented our tacos with sides of chips and queso, Juan's beans, and chips and salsa. Everything was delicious! My only gripes were my tacos weren't very hot and the dreaded "tip" at the pos, which I didn't see any waitstaff, so I'm wondering why do they need a tip?? Overall good food and atmosphere, and I will definitely be back to other locations in the future!

Yelp
While in town, had to come to this place for their amazing tacos, queso and swirl margaritas! Please give them a try!

Rachel R.

Yelp
We come here about once a month and love sitting at the bar for full service. Drinks are reasonably priced and delicious - my favorite is their Bloody Mary during brunch hours. Tacos are quick and consistent. Staff is friendly, personable, and ready to help you make choices on tacos or chat about life. The restaurant is clean and has lots of seating options for families and big parties.

Yelp
I used to Torchy's regular in Indiana. But this was the first time when I was having it in Texas. And I can say they maintain really good standard and taste everywhere. They were quick with their service. Good place to hangout with friends.

Felicia L.

Yelp
While the food was not bad at all and was delicious. It was the service that was garbage. The location was not busy (3 other people) that were not staff. The girls behind the counter were more worried about gossiping and not greeting us. After a couple of minutes one came over and finally came over. She seemed to have an attitude. We noticed she was more worried about her phone than her job. It did not make for a first time experience at this location. Hopefully they can fix the staff issue. The food again was delicious and would try a different location.

Davidm A.

Yelp
Well I have elated here so many times and it's always really good food. The service is always great and they have some good bar tenders that make some good strong drinks. Very casual place here. They have lots of locations throughout austin. I have been to 2 of the locations and they all taste the same. This one is very clean and always kept in order. Try for yourself!

Tom H.

Yelp
I stopped by and gave this restaurant a try and was impressed. - The salsa was incredible. - The fish taco was unbelievable. I have to say this was the best fish taco I've ever tried and I live in El Paso. The salsa was spicy, a lot of spices, and had a great flavor. It caught me off guard as I broke into a crazy cough for a bit. Service was great as the cashier gave some tips on what was good to eat here. Overall great service from this restaurant and a must try.

Sebastian L.

Yelp
The food 3/10 Cold tacos. Stale chips. Only reason this places gets a 3 is because the salsa was decent. Service 2/10 It was alright until we saw them sweeping the floors while people ate in the restaurant. Seriously gross, that girl was aggressive with the broom too sweeping up that dust into the air so it lands on your food yummm. Disgusting man. No carne asada tacos either. A staple taco in Mexican food and this place lists nothing with carne asada in their menu lol.

Bill C.

Yelp
Anyone who has ever been to Torchy's knows this place serves up as good of a taco as there is. If you've been there and disagree, I don't even want to know you!! About the only thing there is to complain about is that there may be a line, but that is expected when your food is this tasty. Tip: you can bypass the line by sitting at and ordering at the bar, As a bonus, there is a pretty decent selection of beer there, too.

Madi M.

Yelp
I like this place and their tacos. They are always busy and wait time is longer during peak hours, but I can wait for a good taco.

Lo W.

Yelp
Food was very greasy and left me with a stomachache honestly never had problems with torchys till I stopped at this location

Maria B.

Yelp
Recommend the queso and chips. I usually get the Democrat taco with an extra corn tortilla to make two tacos which is plenty for a meal for me. Takeout order was brought directly to where I was waiting without even having to use the numbered locator. Party-type atmosphere in the restaurant. Good for meeting friends.

Melinda B.

Yelp
Best taco ever. Ask to see the secret menu and venture out a bit. The pulled pork missionary style is magical. I wish they'd bring back black beans, though, and the Jack of Clubs.

Leena J.

Yelp
Food is 6/10 Service is a 6/10 Ambiance is a 5/10z They used to be AMAZING! But now I've noticed a lot of slack. We still love to drop by from time to time but wish it was more neat! I would still recommend!

Mando D.

Yelp
You guys want to talk with me and sent me an email address that doesn't work. I haven't received a refund for my purchase not a correct email address.

Barnum G.

Yelp
Absolutely the best tacos I have ever had. End of subject. I tried the avocado and also a fried chicken taco, and yes, I tried it "trashy." I couldn't be more happy with my experience. The food was cooked perfectly, had a great taste, the staff was helpful and the restaurant was clean. I love the hip decor.

Doyle W.

Yelp
Who doesn't love tacos? Everyone does. Torchy's is some of the best next to Taco Deli. The only gripe is that I do tend to get some indigestion after a meal there. Of course every meal starts with chips and queso and that freaking great queso is vegan which sits well with me. Followed my a Mr.Orange (where available). Always perfectly prepared and paired with their i creditable sauce. I only gave them 4 stars due to the consistent indigestion after a meal there. Otherwise an super hit!

Pamela G.

Yelp
My daughter took me to Torchy's Tacos and I loved it!. The food was great! Quirky names for their tacos. Portion sizes are a bit smaller, but Service was good; very happy and positive employees. Ambiance was okay but it was crowded and made it hard to have a conversation. Overall, I enjoyed my lunch very much. I will definitely go again as it is a fun place to eat!

Kisha C.

Yelp
Very disappointed with Torchy's. I ordered a full order of chips and salsa and when I made it home opened up my bag it was definitely not full and not even half a bag. They are definitely coming up way short on the chip order. Give you all this salsa and queso but no chips to enjoy it. Do better Torchy's.

Spencer S.

Yelp
Part of a strip center. Lots of reserved parking out front, so consider parking in the back. Indoor, outdoor and bar seating. Order at the register and they bring your order to your table. Breakfast items as well - that's what we went for. Being from California, we thought prices were extremely reasonable. Our friends recommended the wrangler breakfast taco - egg, cheese, and brisket. Pretty good sized for only about $4 as of October 2021. Loved it! We also got their queso, which is spicy. Pro tip is to pour some of the queso on to the taco!

Javier B.

Yelp
Torchy's is a Taco institution in Texas, my favorites are the Crossroads (Brisket of course!), their queso and corn, the selection of beer and full bar is also fantastic. I am sad the Tuna taco Mr. Pink is gone, I used to love it and have been just waiting for them to have it again even if it just temporarily. You can't go wrong ever at Torchy's.

Pamela R.

Yelp
Amanda has to be one of the best bartenders I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. She was funny witty and compassionate. It was like being served by my best friend. As long as she is there I'll be returning. If she were to ever leave I'd follow her wherever she went. She needs a raise immediately! Or a promotion!!! She never made an excuse as to why our food was running late just reassured us that it was an unusual busier Saturday night for the season and her drinks were so spot on we didn't even realize we ordered food!

Dillon D.

Yelp
missing item from original order had to drive back waited for the missing item for 15-20 min still nothing keep in mind there was nobody in the store. kitchen staff sucks still didn't get the missing item i just left

Sunonda W.

Yelp
We Are never disappointed at Torchy's! This js my fourth visit and the food is consistently good! High quality ingredients. Fresh and made when you order! Guacamole is very fresh! Chips are warm and crispy. I had the pork carnitas today and it was mouth watering! My daughter had the grilled salmon. Really good and fresh. There were four of us total. We Also had the trailer park which is one of my favs and the beef fajita which had surprisingly good cuts of meat for a taco!

K G.

Yelp
I love Torchy's and I'm a long time fan so it pains me to give this locations 3 stars. Cons: - I've always seem to get a staff here to have a bad vibe, and not representative of the Torchys/Austin culture - examples over the past year: - bald/tattooed head bartender getting annoyed at me for ordering a drink with sunglasses on (it was on patio and sunny)... like I'm some mastermind fake ID joker with grey hair. I support the due diligence but the way he asked was kinda rude / annoyed. - i ordered Togo on the app but showed up 2 min later and wants to change order to dine in because change of plans... it was slow/ NOT busy... and she acted like i asked for something unfathomable and said can't happen, i could eat my squished up fouled wrap tacos here though - empty 9am morning , i get breakfast tacos and sit at the empty bar to wait , bartender days i have to move to a table... it's empty in the whole place chill out! Uptight staff kills my vibe here everyone , very boomer feelings and doesn't match the cool Torchys brand. Pros: - consistently clean and decent patio is nice - service had gotten somewhat better over past 2 years - some of the rude staff has ether been let go or left naturally

Margarita G.

Yelp
i was sitting at the bar and Amanda served me. She was so kind and very friendly. We had such a great conversation and it was like talking to my friend I've known for ever. Thanks Amanda for a great time and conversation. Drinks were awesom. Stop by and hang out with Amanda.

Matt D.

Yelp
The tacos at this location have been very hit or miss. Ordering to-go has consistently resulted in much smaller tacos (less fillings /toppings) then dining in. The most recent visit, all the tacos were absolutely smothered in sauce. Barely edible. They are usually much better. Chips and salsa are a-la-carte aka you have to pay for them separately. They also did away with the stubborn soda some time ago and now have coke products.

Erin M.

Yelp
Online order was handed to me 20 mins after promised time. Online pickup system was chaotic and understaffed, no one was helped when they walked up to the counter and I watched many people get ignored. I ordered one taco and the order was wrong with the type of sauce and cheese selection. Won't be back to this location. I wrote to Torchy's and they didn't even respond to my message, per the manager's rec.

Tanmay T.

Yelp
Best tacos in the town. I am a Tacodeli fan too. The service is fast and sauces are awesome. I like spicy, so Diablo sauce is my favorite. They have a lot of tacos to choose from, but if you are vegetarian, you have only two options. Taking one star off for that, otherwise all good.

David T.

Yelp
I did a curbside pickup order. Taco's were decent, but my guess is that they would be much better if eaten fresh off the grill. Service was good and it didn't take too long for my order to be brought out after checking in that I was in the parking lot. I'll have another go around with Torchy's try the dine in and update my review.

Cody B.

Yelp
The worst customer service ever! I asked for a drink at the bar and a guy with a tattoo all around his neck refused. He was completely offensive and unprofessional. I will not be going back , and I would not advise folks to go either. It was very clear he didn't want to work and he had closed up early because of the holiday.

jane G.

Yelp
We came to Torchy's for dinner & drink. We were disappointed on the quality of our tacos. Our corn tortillas were very cold which made our filling cold. Torchy's should go back to serving old corn tortillas & not the fresh made as they're not any better. We ordered half order of queso & seemed smaller than before. Torchy's- don't cut corners to make better profit, instead ask for customer opinions before switching any. Love the queso & drinks!

Chris S.

Yelp
Torchy's isn't perfect and it definitely outgrew its funky, old Austin roots. Also, if you really, really demand an authentic mexican tacqueria, then there are literally hundreds of other options around town. Torchy's does offer some tacos with unique and addictive flavor combinations (like the Brushfire). The full bar is really nice with a fantastic house margarita. Breakfast tacos are legit, and the queso is probably the best in town. I'm not a huge fan of the lines and crowds at times, but the food here is sneaky delicious enough to keep this place in the rotation.

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Update from an old review: recent times that we have gone they seem consistently better about packing the correct items and not forgetting things, and generally have friendly service.

Fola D.

Yelp
Fantastic food but I always expect that! The queso is my absolute favorite and I hadn't had it for a couple of years. This was my first time at this location and it is really nice, especially the outdoor space, which my child enjoyed running around. I was disappointed to order the corn and it was never brought out though. Oh well.

Cara C.

Yelp
Food is okay. Atmosphere not great. Little overpriced for what you get. I want to like this place. It's close to home. We've been three times. That will be all.

Krasti Q.

Yelp
Great taco place to get a quick bite of tacos, or in my case, a salad. I decided to go 'healthy' and ordered their airstream salad with beef fajita. This salad came packed with tons of ingredients in a bowl. I even had to pack some to go because I could not finish it all. Its a mix of arugala, lettuce, grilled corn, red peppers, avocado, etc. The grilled corn gives it a smoky flavor in my salad which I loved, the pistachios added a nutty flavor, the red peppers made it a bit spicy, and all came together really well. However, I do have to mention that the beef was a bit too tough and would've preferred it to be more tender. Nonetheless, still a good bowl of salad! I've also tried a few of their tacos in the past and they really are "damn good". The beef fajita and brushfire tacos are my go to. I love their Diablo sauce. It's their hottest sauce and really gives the tacos an added kick in my mouth!

Darrell F.

Yelp
Wonderful place to eat, just depends whom is cooking that day, the meat can get a little skimpy. The staff works hard to get you serviced, the the environment is fun and chill for eating

Ken G.

Yelp
Live, die, repeat what else can I say. Love Torchy's. Everything seems to be always on point! Pricing could be better. But oh well I'm still coming.

Damian C.

Yelp
Great selection of tacos and finding their hidden menu was a pleasant and tasty surprise

Michaela M.

Yelp
Having amazing street tacos accessible almost everywhere in Austin make other taco joints somewhat non-comparable. Torchys is good but not like the others. It's more Texas based tacos if that makes sense. I do love the brisket breakfast taco and normally the street corn, however the last time I ordered street corn it was overly salty. I would prefer going to an authentic taco joint, but that's just my taste preference. The reason for 3 stars is the taste of my last order being so salty I was unable to eat it.

Kevin F.

Yelp
Reliable taste, which is good. Like most places now, super-easy to spend $20 per person though. Overall I'd go back since Pflugerville has limited options.

Seon B.

Yelp
I came here about noon on a Sunday and had a good experience. The wait kept my experience from being great. There's ample parking and plenty of room inside and outside at this Torchy's including a bar. When I ate here the line was at around 15 people. However it took 40 minutes for me to places an order waiting on that line. The wait for my food was about 15 minutes. The food was great however. I had the Alabama Shake Taco and a chorizo, egg and cheese taco. Both was very delicious especially the Alabama Shake Taco. I also had a Passion Fruit frozen Margarita which was very delicious and mixed just right. My kids had lil nookies and a couple of bacon, egg and cheese tacos which they both enjoyed. The waitress was friendly and try staff was helpful when I needed extra salsa or water. This was definitely one of the better Torchy's however the wait was too long for me!

Mike W.

Yelp
Best tacos in town. Highly recommend and go with the chicken tacos and a lemonade you won't be disappointed

Tyson S.

Yelp
So the taco menu is so creative & executed very well. I had three different taco's all a great size for the price. Amazing flavors & ingredients. The service was excellent & atmosphere was very relaxed. Definitely will eat her again.

Marcus R.

Yelp
This Torchy's is another unique facility compared to the rest. They have an automated system to help the waiting the staff show your location of your table to serve your food. Parking is premium here all day pretty much, so you will most park behind the facility or across the street on the side of Torchy's. Overall I like this one because even though its kind of small it's a relaxing place to chill and eat or go on a date. They have an outside covered patio that connects to their bar. Their queso and guacamole is one of the best in my opinion. Their is very unique and tasty! For their quacamole it's one of the best I have tried for a restaurant compared to my homemade quacamole that I make. It has flavor to it. Most places don't really make quacamole the way Torchy's does. All the tacos here are tasty, with the exception of one their taco of the months that will put your mouth on fire immediately. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of that taco and nor do I want to because it was so damn hot.
