Google
The place is a bit out of the way, but it's worth it! So so many board games, 4 cork boards (so rare in the Midwest!) for darts, and an active community of board gamers. The beers are delicious, sorry I missed the vask ale! They also make their own seltzers, hard and soft!

Google
Had a great time doing a sushi class here! The decor was cool, people were nice. They also had a nice selection of NA beer and seltzer that I appreciate.

Google
One of my favorite place to sit and crochet. Very welcoming. Lots of different events happening. Comedy nights, open mic bites, Dungeons and Dragons night. Lots of board games for families.

Have been to many microbreweries over the years and have never seen one as unique as this one. Being a sci-fi fantasy fan myself, I really appreciated the decor with nods to Tolkien and Monty Python's Holy Grail. Custom artwork on t-shirts and wall hangings is very well done! There's darts, frisbee, painting groups, live music, and many other interesting things to see and do here. Really like all the little cubbyholes too. Sampled a flight and enjoyed the full flavor and creaminess of the Baltic Orc Porter so much, I HAD to pickup some for home! Excellent, knowledgeable staff and the owner walking around chatting with customers was nice. Three dollar discounts for growlers on Wednesdays too. Loved the original names given to the brews as well. Most likely will become regulars and will definitely be back.

The beer is amazing and always flowing! Plus they do fun events! Beer goes on a rotation. Keep checking in from time to time to try new things.

Google
Logan was a great bartender. Personable, relatable, solid knowledge of the beers onbtap, and he was engaging with all of the patrons.

Google
My favorite place to go when I have time. Good service and good beer. Sandwiches from Nelson’s Deli available Friday 2pm until gone! Family friendly, owners are good people. Thanks Deb and Dave!

Google
Awesome brewery with a small town vibe. Lots of little nooks for a personable experience and homey feel throughout. Especially loved the art and vibe all over the brewery. Tons of board games for all ages. Delicious beer. Will definately be back!

Yelp
Cool ambiance and yummy beer. Spotted this place driving down 47 and immediately wanted to sit on that patio. Initially, I thought the sign was for a Mediterranean place like the many other delicious spots off of University, but I wasn't upset when I looked into it and found it was a brewery! Tried 3 beers between the two of us. My partner loved the Bower amber so much he stuck with it. I tried the Kilted Yoga red ale, and the Five Bobs vanilla porter. All three were very well balanced and true to their style! As the sun sets it's directly on the patio, so bring sunglasses. Service was pleasant! Definitely a few regulars. The space inside is neat, lots of little rooms so if you want your own space you can find one! Board games. Parking lot.

Yelp
We left behind the black puffer coats and headed into the familiar land of flannels and facial hair. This place has a fun concept, with frisbee throwing & discounts for military/veterans, plus some unique spin on brews. I thoroughly enjoyed my Heironymous Gruit - the lemongrass and rosemary worked well together. As we were leaving, it looked like a bluegrass was about to start. I'd go back for sure.

Yelp
If you are looking for a Pub and some traditional styled beers, make a trip to @torgbrewery . Not only is the team personable, but they also know how to make some true-to-style beer that displays the complexity that can come from such simple ingredients. Annwn Dewi: A Dark Belgian Dubbel with bready / floral aroma. Caramel, butterscotch, dark fruit, and brandy flavors coalesce for a Belgian beer. Squirrel Nutkin Hazel: A Brown Ale with Hazelnut. I love a good Brown Ale, and couldn't resist one that added more nuttiness. Medium-high hazelnut aromas. Sweet flavors of butterscotch, hazelnut and vanilla take an English Brown Ale and turn it into dessert. Well Chuffed: A Scottish Ale that is extremely malt-forward. Medium-low caramel and toffee aromas with hints of dark fruits. Medium toasted bread, low butterscotch, and medium-low plum flavors. Lighter bodied with lots of flavor. Selkie Shade: A Tropical Stout, which is an uncommon style and you rarely see on tap at breweries. Low cocoa and molasses aroma. Light bodied with medium oak, medium-low vanilla, and low chocolate / roasted coffee flavors. If you are visiting and this is still on tap - get it and you won't regret it..

Yelp
Yelp doesn't allow me to do 3.5 stars. Not that eventually this place won't deserve 4 stars or 5 eventually, because there is just so much potential. Let's start with the bad because there's far more positive here than bad. The lighting in every room is terrible besides the hall containing the bar. Personally I prefer a more dimly lit space and you're not going to find that here. The other big negative I have is that there wasn't much on tap and what was on tap is not very friendly to people who don't enjoy beer and the difference in each beer. Also the bar is on the second floor, but there is an elevator, so I'm not sure how much of a negative this really is. If it's your first time though you may struggle a bit to find it because the building is so big for a brewery. The positive: I absolutely love how big the building is. There's so many rooms and it seemed like every single one of them had board games in them. There's just endless amounts of potential here. The owners seem to have a great grasp on what they maybe looking for so I'm super excited to see how the place transforms over the next couple years. The dart board area is painstakingly lit with hospital lighting and they have chalk boards but I prefer that over over priced dart boards found in most bars, and they have so many of them. Absolutely love that. The main hall is wonderfully done, minus the giant cardboard knight, even though it's fitting to their brewery, it just kind of pulls away from the atmosphere in the main hall. I'm sure some DND people will get into it, but it just isn't for me. It overlooks the stills, there's plenty of seating and overall the main hall is wonderfully done. I can't say enough how much I love their graphic designer. The trolls and symbols look amazing. Reminds me a lot of Trollhaugen in Wisconsin if you've ever been there. I enjoyed the beer selection. I can't say enough how much I love going to places that force feed you overly hopped beer and give you a variety. In my opinion it speaks to a great beer master. My fiancé wasn't thrilled there wasn't more for her, but, she's not really into beer. For the veterans, they offer a dollar off pints and a free lifetime membership to their hall. It's worth it. I loved this place and can't wait to bring my friends there. The parking is easy. Finding it is easy. There's games everywhere. There's seating everywhere. The beer is good. Very, very satisfied with our experience. The staff was super nice and served us right away. Glad to see they've survived the pandemic, will definitely be back.

Yelp
The beer is delicious if you enjoy some of the more continental styles. The bartender(/owner?) is incredibly friendly and taught us a new dart board game. Was told they host D&D events which is pretty cool though we didn't have time to hangout for it. Looking forward to coming back again!

Yelp
The guilty Marder is my fave. This is one of those spots I really like because the space is nice - the patio especially. It's very veteran-friendly, I believe one of the owners is one. You can order some snacks or bring your own food. They usually have some games you can play, private lot parking, and clean bathrooms. It's a good hangout spot with fantastic beer!

Yelp
I went to school in England. After move to America, I really miss the fresh poured beer in the pubs-until we found this place: definitely own some of the best dark beers in the twin cities! Not mentioning how friendly the bartenders are!

Yelp
I came here with my husband and two kids on a Saturday afternoon. We bribed the boys with McDonald's to bring and the brewery didn't mind that we brought in food. Kept the kids occupied. It's located upstairs, up the mountains as my one kid said. It has a cozier feel to. It wasn't too busy, a few groups of people. There is one main room with the bar. There is another room next door that can be used for events. There were board games to entertain us. My husband entertained the kids in the other room that was empty while I sat back and enjoyed my beer. It was glorious. I first had the libidinous, a hefeweizen. I liked it a lot but I'm a huge fan of hefeweizen beer! My husband had the kindling knight, more of a smoked hefeweizen beer. I wasn't a fan, I liked smoked food but not smoked drinks. I also had the headless horseman, a pumpkin spice beer. It was good but the libidinous was my favorite.

Yelp
Who knew? Beer so delicious could be hidden? Torg brewing is so delicious. The seasonal beers are lovely and the service is top-notch. All the beers are delicious and they have officially hit my top my top 3. Yay, Torg, you are nailing it!

Yelp
Men in Kilts!! Need I type more? Fine, I will type more. They have a lovely selection of brews. Board games and darts, oh my! Plus lots of indoor seating to drink and chat with your friends. I happened to go to this brewery for an awesome craft night with Odd Frog Creations where we painted cute little ceramic gnomes. That were then kiln fired and I got to go back to this unassuming industrial style brewery to pick them back up. I didn't think they offered food but they did have a small menu to order in from. So that's a nice perk! They also had a good selection of non-alcoholic drinks for my friend! If you are in the neighborhood check this little spot out! I would have never known it was there otherwise on the frontage road. It's a hidden gem.

Claire B.

Yelp
Nice tavern with a nerdy vibe to it. Small ceilings and close atmosphere really bring it all together. Rarely do they have a beer that isn't good. 3 Dogs and a Squirrel, Kilted Yoga or Libidinous are their stand outs.
google avatar

Yelp
The best beer is found tucked back in hidden holes, industrial parks and places that you may not just stumble on. And this place hits the mark. A solid bakers dozen of beers available on tap, with most of the beers beers being mostly non-IPA classic European beers. I was quite impressed with a lighter stout that had coconut (canicular mischief) and a Christmas beer (Conflicted Krampus). Btw all the beers have great unique names. This place is down my alley. D&D nights, kilted nights. Too bad it is 1k miles away.

Yelp
I came across this place on Groupon so I decided to try it out. I loved the theme and how their beer and brewery were decorated. I enjoyed all of the beer in my flight. Service was fast and friendly.

Yelp
First time here. Nice to see an Irish decor. We went here to see the Northerly Gales. We had a totally enjoyable evening and I really enjoyed the beer. It was nice to speak with the owners and get some information about the brewery.

Yelp
Fun, neighborly brewery in Spring Lake Park, not far from Northtown Mall. I don't think we would have searched for this place except they have live music on some Friday nights. The band that we love to listen to was playing, so we used our Yelp app to find it. The flight of their dark brews were a great way to start off the experience! My only complaint is that someone had a delivery of Savoy pizza and it smelled amazing-now I want a Savoy pizza!

Yelp
What a great neighborhood brewery. About a 20-30 minute drive outside the city you'll stumble upon this gem in a series of businesses along the highway. Head right up the stairs and there's a pretty spacious first floor with a large area for games off the bar and a row of REAL FELT DARTS to the left. I have yet to find real felt dartboards in MN - I was thrilled (but didn't have a chance to play, so obviously we have to go back.) We tried a number of different beers on the menu and none of them disappointed. I'm normally not a Saison fan, but I tried the Belgium Saison (I'm a huge Belgium fan) and it was not too strong and absolutely delightful. We ended up a couple crowlers to bring home with us. We ended up sitting out on the balcony on what was a perfect Summer evening. There's a long high top and a couple of lounge seating options all strung with twinkly lights. Made for a perfect low key Saturday Summer night!

Ellie J.

Yelp
Wonderful staff, plenty to do between darts, and games, and the live music is a huge plus! Great beers on tap!

Yelp
We were in the area to brewery hop. This brewery is a hidden gem. not a bad beer on the menu. Friendly staff! Go check this place out and you won't be disappointed!!!

Yelp
First of all, if someone from Yelp reads this, WTF doesn't this place show up if I look for "brew pub" in Fridley? My wife asked me about it and I checked and found nothing. Luckily, she is on the Facebooks... We were looking for a place to get a gift card for some relatives, so we tooled over to check it out. First, the single bad thing I have to say about Torg: it's up a flight of stairs. Once you get up there, it is a nice location with good seating, real steel darts, a comfy couch, and quite a nice selection of beer. You know how some places have sixteen different IPAs, each hoppier than the last? Or nine different smoked beers, or twelve purportedly-different beers that each turn out to taste the same? Well, Torg isn't like that. We tried four different beers, and they each seemed like a reasonable rendition of ... four different beers! For instance, the stout was quite nice and so was the red ale. The only oddity is that if you bring your own insulated growler instead of using one of their glass ones, the price goes up quite steeply. Oh, they have a deal where you can pay a one-time $1000 fee and get three pints every time you stop. The way I figure it, you'd come out ahead after around 60 visits...

Yelp
Great staff. Great brews. Great people to hang out with. What more could you ask for?

Yelp
This little brewery has great branding and a decent enough vibe (part quirky, part clean cut). It's totally fine if you are in the area. Two out of the three beers I tried tasted strongly of chlorine (chemical taste), not sure if that is the water they use to brew or something else. Came in on a craft tap, probably wouldn't seek it out again. The Hefeweizen was my fave and didn't have the chlorine taste. They also offer a discount to veterans, which I admire. Wish the Nordic theme was stronger throughout the interior.

Yelp
Very nice place. It's on the second floor of a converted office building, which is a bit off. The taproom itself is large and comfortable. A separate dart room and outside deck. The beer was very good. The Porter was very full bodied and the nut brown ale was great. Very nice art by local artists. Anyplace that has a map of Middle Earth on the wall has to be awesome.

Yelp
Overall: 2.5 stars Was hoping for a decent experience, but this new place needs some work to give it a true pub feel. Might try again in a year. Lackluster brews in an converted office building, though owners are sweet & super-excited. Ambience: 2 stars Weird building & entry, located on busy University Ave does not feel like a brewery. Is clean though & has a dart area that is way too bright to feel like a pub/brew house. Brews: 2.5 stars Maybe one or two were decent with flavor, a couple of the basic brews tasted watered down, don't remember the names though. Bathrooms: N/A Didn't visit, but assume clean due to remodel. Service: 4 stars Good service. Friendly, attentive. Excited owners, but please take some feedback at least to improve the customer experience!

Yelp
Finally: a brewery that offers more than IPAs. As someone who prefers porters & stouts Torg has been an awesome find. The Woman of the House and Brigid's Bathwater are my two rotating favorites; Torg has also made a push into solid German style beers as of late. My only ask would be more Belgians on tap, but given the current beer variety and quality I'm more than ok with their current focus. The building itself is very odd from the outside, but the inside more than compensates with a warm, communal feel. Torg does a great job of getting involved with the local community by hosting events, live music and even yoga. If you ever get a chance to see Broken Spoke, do it! I've greatly enjoyed each of my visits to Torg. Although they're still relatively new, Dave and Debbie (the owners) are passionate about what they do and who they serve. And at the end of the day, that's what makes for an excellent, successful brewery.

Yelp
So I drive up University and stumble upon this hidden gem Torg Brewery. I didn't quite know what to expect but found a warm welcoming atmosphere with some great beer. The best part of this place is the staff by far. They were great, and I will be going back over and over again!
google avatar

Lynn A.

Yelp
Torg Brewery is a hidden gem! We did flights of all their beer and there was not a one that I wouldn't drink again! I highly recommend this brewery. People, this one is a must to try! Very easy to get to!
google avatar

Christopher T.

Yelp
New Taproom with a wide variety of brews, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff! Excited to see what they do!
google avatar

Keith S.

Yelp
Wow what a great find on the north end of town really creative and interesting beers. Including possibly my favorite the Rambling Lady which has some undertones of butterscotch. Then widly on the other end of the spectrum the Major Faux Pas its a love hate relationship with that one. I like to start my stay with their Oatmeal Stout the Woman of the House.
google avatar

Ryan Y.

Yelp
Had a very nice evening with friends here. Have a couple of nice reds including one called Kilt I really liked. Good Irish band played and even the owner danced a jig! They have food delivered by a good local place with sandwiches, gyros, and pizza.

Mike K.

Yelp
Met Dave on our visit to Torg. Really neat presentation by Dave on the different styles of their beer. Excellent place to pop into for a Saturday afternoon pint.

Madeline N.

Yelp
We had the best time. Made the journey from Woodbury and had such a wonderful time. Amazing customer service. Appreciate a family business and a female brewer!

Gordon L.

Yelp
Wow. So many different styles of craft beer on the menu. Not all IPA variations. I am in heaven. The taproom is upstairs and feels like an olde world pub. There is room after room of space. Great service. Outside 2nd floor deck. Make sure you catch the "Sunsets over Walmart" this place fun.
google avatar

Thor B.

Yelp
Darts and a great craft beer selection overlooking the brew shop. Was impressed with how mild and yet flavorful the two stouts I tried on tap. Gonna have to stop back to try some more of their 12+ flavors sometime.

Kelsey V.

Yelp
The beer is amazing! Wide variety of brews for beer lovers and those new to the craft scene. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Relaxed and welcoming environment. Lots of seating and things to do; darts, puzzles, board games, trivia, and it's kid friendly too! My kids enjoyed coloring in in the My Little Pony coloring books and building with the blocks on the patio. Lots of places deliver and there are food trucks often. My favorite night to go is the 1st sat if each month. Great live music from Broken Spoke!

Karen B.

Yelp
Torg offers a different tasting room experience than most. It's spacious, with loads of nooks to hang out in. Sample everything at the bar. Throw darts overlooking the brewing floor (legit darts, too -- no electronic boards here). Grab a roomy table for board games. Find a quiet corner for your stitch-n-bitch and rowdy the place up a bit. There's nothing in-your-face about Torg, and that includes the beer. It's a good spot for people who may like a respite from hop bombs and passionfruit experimentations. Subtle, balanced British and German styles that taste good and go down easy. Torg doesn't feel like a scene. It's welcoming, neighborly, and flexible. It's like the best of coffee shops, but with beer. There is no bad here.

Yelp
This brewery was boring. Nothing about it was exciting. Not the beers, which mostly ranged in the standard side of brews with nothing unique about them. The taproom hidden away in an office space felt awkward and out of place. While it offered comfortable space for the patrons and some free games like bags and foosball in the backroom, it's not something I feel the need to come back to. The service was subpar at best. After I finished my flight which featured three dark beers on nitro and their red ale, none of which I recall the names of because they were that forgettable, I asked for a pint of a particular beer which the bartender said he was no longer pouring that night because the pouring was heavy on foam, which was fine. I asked for a sample of their altbier which I did not have in my initial flight and I did not enjoy it. The beer left a stale taste in my mouth. I went on to try their wild rice porter which was drinkable enough but before I ordered a pint of that the bartender decided to make a smart-ass comment that I had "tried almost everything on tap." Does this guy seriously think that I was such a hassle and bother for asking for two samples after I had paid for their $10 flight of four? Somebody should explain to him the difference between asking for a sample before ordering and paying for a flight. It was a comment that was unnecessary and made me not want to return, which I have no problem in doing so when the beer is as mediocre as can get and the service borderlines rude.

Tedd A.

Yelp
Beer is pretty good quality but I do not advise visiting during the Covid19 pandemic. Upon several visits I've seen exactly one staff member wear a mask and the owner has never worn one. They do not enforce customers wearing masks or social distancing at all.

Julie R.

Yelp
Awesome service, unique beers, variety of activies going on helps those of us who aren't as much into the beer alone. Owners are great - down to earth and fun to be around. Love the movies and comics! Really nice patio. Flexible external food options are nice. Could use some furniture updates soon (understandable 1 year in) and some additional lighter beer options for those of us that "tag along" with more dedicated craft beer drinkers. Adding wine options would clinch 5 stars for me and make it the first place we would pick for nights out and about in the area.

Jim B.

Yelp
This is a true brewery! Great selection of Beer ! A lot of different rooms to roam around, a movie theater and a outdoor deck for about 20 people. Foosball and Dart boards also. Owner is very friendly and place is clean and very well taken care of. Sandwiches from Nelson's Cheese House and Pizza delivery from local Pizza houses! Give this place a try, you will be surprised !!!!!

Rick B.

Yelp
I really liked their beer, the space is a little different and the night we were there for some reason there were a bunch of small children but worth a try. Again really liked the beer

Matt V.

Yelp
Torg is a terrific brewery owned by family oriented owners. The head brewery is a woman who makes excellent craft beers. Overall the environment at Torg is very similar to an English or European style pub.
