Tampa Bay Bars and Restaurants Serving Astral Tequila | Eater

"The narrow, brick-lined environs of this Japanese pub from the owners of Izakaya Tori give Tori Bar a distinct Tokyo vibe, adding a touch of authenticity to the eastern bar motif. It’s become one of Tampa’s top happy hour spots, offering discounted drinks both after work and late night. It’s also a popular pick for late night bites, where hand rolls and skewers serve as more interesting options to soak up the evening’s indulgences. If you still want to keep the party going, try the bar’s Japanese take on a margarita, the Shishito Pepper, made with Astral Blanco, orange liqueur, shishito pepper wasabi syrup, and lime juice." - Matthew Meltzer

Tampa Bay’s Best Bars to Celebrate Women’s History Month | Eater

"Following massive success with Izakaya Tori, owners Michelle and Jerry Biting opened this small-plates-and-cocktails concept that’s been just as big a hit. The Japanese-style pub is big on grilled skewers and has become a go-to for elevated late-night food. Immerse yourself in the Asian theme with the Guava Tai, made with Zacapa No. 23 Rum, yuzu Curacao, guava-lime cordial, and pistachio orgeat." - Matthew Meltzer

Where to Drink Margaritas in Tampa for MargaritaCon | Eater

"The folks behind Dale Mabry smash Izakaya Tori have spread their wings downtown, opening this chic, fast-paced Japanese pub that serves food and drink until 1 a.m. on the weekends. It’s already gained a big reputation as a later-night destination for sushi and grilled meat skewers, with hearty plates like pork belly and a seared New York strip steak tataki alongside sashimi and handrolls. Don’t sleep on Tori Bar’s cocktail list either, featuring Japanese-inspired highballs and cocktails. Rather than ordering a big bowl of shishito peppers, opt instead for the shishito pepper margarita with Astral Tequila, orange liqueur, shishito peppers, wasabi syrup, and lime." - Matthew Meltzer

Tori Bar – A Hidden Gem in Tampa! If you’re in Tampa and craving Japanese tapas, Tori Bar is an absolute must. The food is consistently delicious, the drinks are on point, and the vibe is unbeatable. The Truffle Mushroom Rice Pot is a showstopper—rich, savory, and unforgettable. And whatever you do, don’t skip the Miso Chilean Sea Bass—it’s perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The service is always friendly and efficient. The staff makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in, and the food comes out fast, so come hungry and ready to order! The place is always buzzing with energy, and the outdoor seating area adds a cool, relaxed touch. Every time I’ve been, there’s been live music, adding to the already great atmosphere. It’s just an all-around good vibe. Hands down, one of my favorite spots in the city. Highly recommend!

5 Stars - Absolutely Unreal Experience at Tori Bar Tori Bar is an absolute gem. Hands down, one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. From the second we walked in, the vibe was immaculate—chill, stylish, yet intimate. It felt like every detail was thought through, and the energy of the place just pulled us in. Now the food… we literally could not stop ordering. Every single dish kept outdoing the last. It was like a flavor adventure, one plate after another. From the skewers to the small plates to the specials—everything was on point. You could taste the quality and the passion behind each dish. You know the chefs back there are having fun with it. The drinks? Just as incredible. Balanced, creative, and super well-paired with the food. Whether you’re into cocktails or sake, they’ve got something that hits. But what really sealed the deal for us was the service. Brooke was AMAZING. Super friendly, knew the menu like the back of her hand, gave great recommendations, and made us feel genuinely taken care of. She really elevated the whole experience. We didn’t want the night to end, honestly. Tori Bar nailed it on every level—food, drinks, atmosphere, and service. Already planning our next visit. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out big time.

Yesterday was my first time visiting Tori Bar, and I had an amazing experience! My friend Brooke, who works here, recommended I stop by, and I’m so glad I did. I was truly impressed by the artistry behind the cocktails and the ambiance of the space. I tried the Shishito Spicy Margarita and the Hamacha Martini; both were phenomenal! I absolutely loved the vibe and will definitely Be back :).

For parking we parked near Oxford Exchange. Mostly paid parking near the street and I didn’t see a valet service. Lovely outdoor seating area and we had a nice server! Would definitely recommend going during happy hour for the prices and less people. Loved the hand rolls and mushroom rice bowl was super fragrant. The uni hand roll wasn’t the freshest for the price though. Fish skewers were super tender and yummy as were the other skewers. I’d pass on the Wagyu. Yuzu Panna Cotta great for people who like a tangy- light desert. Overall a great Japanese restaurant in the Tampa area!

My Favorite Japanese in Tampa. The Matcha Martini and Scallops rice pot has me coming back once a week. Staff is amazing and makes us feel like family, not just regular customers. Tapas style is great for any celebration or a date night.

Another late review. We hope the restaurant survived the hurricane. We came here for dinner while visiting Tampa before the hurricane. Brook was our waitress, and she was very attentive. We dined with our friends. The four of us sat at the very end of the glass window in the back. It was a lovely corner table. I always want to stay away from the busy crowd. The place is beautiful inside and out. It was busy when we came in, but I made a reservation beforehand, so we were good. We had a few plates. The food was delicious! We had yellowtail, tuna, and eel. It was presented in a taco-like style but using the seaweed sheet instead. We had fried octopus karaage, shishito pepper, gyoza, chicken, duck, beef skewers, and lamb chops. It sounded like a lot of food, but they were tiny. Everything came on a small plate. Everything we had was so delicious! Their marination and homemade dipping sauce were phenomenal! I enjoyed with or without the sauce. We loved this place and definitely will return if we come back to Tampa. Excellent service and phenomenal food!

Google
Tori Bar had a really nice ambiance to enjoy a fun a bit fancy night with friends! I would recommend ordering as family style to enjoy the various dishes! The food they had were a fusion with traditional Japanese dishes or ingredients. The Toro Handroll was very fresh and amazing as well. The handrolls were bigger than expected so I would recommend ordering one or two to see the size before over committing. The cocktails/ mocktails were also equally the highlight the night and would recommend enjoying a couple of drinks! I would recommend this place for a fun night out or even for a date night with a special one.

The Non Roti Maker

Google
Opened in place of the old fly bar Tori takes it up another level. First they did great job of changing the theme and upgrading the decor. Second the food comes out fast and fresh. A lot of the food is small plates. Third the cocktails are crafted expertly. When there are many people in the restaurant usually bar tenders do not get enough time to craft the drinks well. That was not the case here. Our server was attentive and checked up on us just the right amount. The only issue was that hostess who showed us to our seat was clearly bothered by something while she tried to help us and did not respond well when we asked a question.

Yelp
Came here w my bestie before a concert and we loved the vibes so much. Reminded us a bit of Tori Tori back home in Orlando expect less hectic and more chill with a lot of space. Fell in love with the chicken tare and brussels. We had more food which wasn't pictured and I was pleased with the flavor, speediness it came out, and the temperature. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were extremely attentive, responsive, and quick which was appreciated. Would love to come back w my girls

Yelp
I wouldn't come back for the food, but I would definitely check out more drinks here. The $15 matcha martini was out of this world yummy and typically I don't even like matcha. The bad news. I came here on a Friday night at 6:32pm. I was told a 35 minute wait. However, the actual wait time was 1 hour and 1 minute. Off by a lot. The tables here are super close together unless you get a booth or a high top table. The bar area is big and maybe I'd just sit there next time. Now, back to the food. The only food item that was above average was the $9 chicken karaage. I would probably just get multiple orders of this. Also, the $13 Garlic butter wild mushroom was pretty good too. Both the chicken and rib eye steak skewers were terrible. No flavor, and just bad. The spicy edamame wasn't spicy, and didn't taste right. Lastly, I tried a $14 green day drink and it was good too, but the matcha drink was the star of the night. I like all the Japanese ambiance, but once again, I'd only come here for drinks and karaaage.

Yelp
My first time at Tori Bar was a great one! I'm a huge Izakaya Tori fan and I can't believe it took me this long to try this spot. It was pretty packed at 7pm on a Saturday, but my friend and I were still able to get seated off the waitlist fairly quickly. It was pretty loud the whole time, which is something to consider. But the food was fantastic. I got the strawberry high ball (delicious and refreshing) and split an 8oz hot sake with my friend. We split the cucumber app, which was larger and much more exciting than we'd anticipated. It was so good and we both wanted to lick the bowl, haha. For my hand rolls, I ordered the spicy octopus, spicy tuna, and the eel. The octopus was my favorite, by far. The hand rolls were a good size and jam packed inside. My one note is that I found the seaweed to be very chewy whereas at other places I've gotten high quality hand rolls it has more so melted in my mouth. Regardless, I thought they were so good! I would definitely return to Tori Bar. The bar inside and all the decor are SO BEAUTIFUL, and the outdoor patio seems like a lovely place to sit and eat if you're looking for a quieter experience!

Yelp
What a beautiful restaurant! They have one of the best happy hours in the Tampa Bay area. The only issue we had is that our waitress instead of taking our order for the last call she decided to go in the kitchen. Check on something come back. tell us happy hour was over. It stops us from being glutenous for sure but it also limits what her tip would be since it's based on a percentage of what we spend the food was great better than I expected. Definitely will be back. Also, they asked us if we were there for an event. We advised it was for friend's birthday and was completely ignored.

Yelp
What used to be fly bar is now Tori bar and I absolutely love what they did with the place. It's undeniable that Tori bar has an amazing late night happy hour however I was really disappointed with their service. I arrived at about 10:15 PM sat at the bar waited over 30 minutes to be served. They finally were able to take my order and when that time came, they told me that their kitchen was already closed due to them closing at 11. I was actually baffled considering I had been waiting at the bar to be served for 30 minutes. I will say they did end up serving me after I expressed my concerns However it really did take away from the experience. I really want to enjoy the ambience and the food, but the whole thing was kinda ruined after the service issue. I will absolutely give Tori bar another chance despite the service because the food and drinks were actually that good.

Yelp
Met up with a friend for dinner, they sat us at a high top table outside. Spot was super cute and very crowded. Love the small plates menu because I can try a lot of different items. I ordered the Hamachi Crudo, Hokkaido Scallop Skewer, Rib Eye Steak Chimichurri Skewer and a Spicy Tuna Hand Roll for my dinner. Everything was delicious.

Yelp
What an amazing place! This restaurant is incredible this was my second visit and I'll definitely keep coming back. I always order the lychee martini, and it never disappoints (absolutely divine) From the menu, I've tried the miso soup, eel & avocado roll, chicken and shrimp gyozas, and the truffle scallops rice pot, everything has been outstanding. My favorites are definitely the eel & avocado roll and the rice pot, so fresh and flavorful. They also offer outdoor seating, and the overall vibe is great. The ambiance, music, and energy of the place are all on point. One thing to note, parking is on the street and it's paid. Also, the restrooms are located outside the restaurant, which isn't the most convenient, but honestly, it's a minor detail considering everything else is a solid 5/5.

Yelp
We went for happy hour. I had higher expectations for this place but it was packed and people are raving about it. Service was good and food was decent.
google avatar

Caitlin M.

Yelp
I finally got to check out this place for a friend's dinner, and we had a great time! They only do reservations for parties of 6 or greater, which is important to know. We had a delicious round of cocktails, including the lychee martini and cosmo. We split a bunch of food including the meat skewers, hand rolls, and fried rice. Everything was very delicious, hot, and fresh. The ambiance is upscale and perfect for birthday dinners. I definitely want to go back and check out their happy hour menu. They have one during the day, as well as late night. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Been here 3 times now and service + food quality is always 5/5. Fries are SO crispy and perfect. Pork belly is good. Gizzard salted was just ok (can probably get similar quality at a fast food place but my gizzard standard is low) Hand rolls are great. Rice is always perfect texture and flavor. Not too soggy or smushed. Fish seems fresh and tasty. They always put plenty on the roll. Love coming here. Great vibes and decor. Happy hour 4-6 and late night is a plus!

Yelp
Tori bar is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in Tampa! Whether it's for a date night or happy hour, it's such a fun spot to go to. You might have to wait a little for a seat/table but once you're sat, their servers are fast and attentive. Their Wagyu and truffle scallop rice are my top 2 favorites. All their food is so delicious, you really can't go wrong! Definitely a spot I highly recommend and love to go to
google avatar

Yelp
The ambiance was amazing here although we chose to sit outside and enjoy the breeze. We came for happy hour and it did not disappoint! The prices are definitely reasonable and the food quality and portions are as well. This is a great happy hour spot and I would highly recommend it. I came in a Monday right at opening and had no issues getting a seat. We tried a plethora of things and everything was delicious. My favorites were the fries, spicy octopus, & shrimp & chicken gyoza. The drink of the month was also really good! I don't remember everything it had but the balance of pear and st. Germaine in the drink was so good!
google avatar

Marquese C.

Yelp
Really amazing food here at Tori Bar. Unbelievable service from Skylar! The ambiance is a vibe. It's crowded but it's a good crowd/vibe. We went for happy hour and grabbed a few different dishes. The Japanese sausage is a must! The chicken wing and chicken thigh with tar is a delicious duo. I enjoyed the grilled avocado, it was the first time I've had one and it was really good. Dishes were a la carte and range from $3.50 to $7 for sushi. The spicy salmon and avocado sushi was really good. I've never had sushi before like how they do it here at Tori Bar. I hope you stop in and give Tori Bar a shot. I can't wait to come back!!! 10/10!

Yelp
Went to Tori Bar for happy hour with some girlfriends and had such a good time! We had a reservation for six and were seated in a cozy booth, which made it feel really intimate and relaxed. We got there in time for happy hour and I was pleasantly surprised by how great the prices were -- definitely reasonable, especially considering how nice the spot is. I'd say the pricing lines up well with other Tampa restaurants of a similar vibe and location. The pistachio martini was a hit with everyone, and I personally loved the hand rolls -- it was actually my first time trying one! Overall, super happy with the experience and already looking forward to going back.

Yelp
Went for Weekday HH Beautiful restaurant Gluten free clearly marked on menu Very attentive service (ordering, bringing food and constantly clearing plates) My favorite were the skewers Our gluten free order: Edamame salt Hot sake Steak chimi Duck (found I'm not a fan, just personal preference) Chicken thigh salt Lamb Shrimp Fried chicken (yum!) Also ordered many other non gluten free items for the table The Rangoon was raved about along with the braised pork belly and the sea bass (some items do not have HH pricing) Would definitely go back (Restrooms not in restaurant Pay by plate street parking)

Yelp
Happy hour here is amazing!!! Even though i am vegetarian the food was amazing and the drinks are SO TASTY. you have to get anything lychee flavor. Highly recommend to go during happy hour and the restaurant itself is beautiful too.

Yelp
Alright I came here for work. Wanted to try a place that had sushi. Of course looked it up on yelp and saw good reviews so I decided to try. My coworker and I got there in time for dinner. It was pretty crowded but there was no wait for 2 we were seated immediately. Tables are really close fyi. Loud and fast place environment. So this is more of a tapas place. One item plates not really entrees. So everything is pretty much a side item. I ordered the rangoons, salmon and Avocado sushi, and lamb. Lamb and sauce was pretty good. Rangoon's were my fav and sushi was meh. It's cute coming in a boat form but the seaweed is tough so it's hard to take bites and it falls apart and it's also too big for me to eat in one bite. And they won't cut it for you. So you just have to figure it out lol. I ordered my usual drink with Hennessy and it's usually pretty strong but this one wasn't. But wish it was! Nonetheless I enjoyed myself. Next time I will try their sister restaurant.
google avatar

TiJuan R.

Yelp
This spot was pretty good. A couple of neighbors and I decided to try this spot for their happy hour. There's not a lot, but street parking is available. I'm not from the area, but it looked like it could be hard to find parking at certain times, but not impossible. We had the opportunity to sit on the patio. This particular night, it was a little chilly, but with the outdoor heaters on, it was really nice. We tried a few different things on the menu. The service was a little slower than I would have liked, but it was very busy then. The patio had a live band that came around 6:30 or 7pm. I enjoyed my time and will return.
google avatar

Katrina M.

Yelp
Always a pleasant experience when I come by! The happy hour is hard to pass by! Everything's under $10 for the most part, and you definitely get your moneys worth. You're able to sample a lot of good food for the low! Their lychee highball is an addiction. They have a new/different, tasty cocktail every month. The servers and bartenders are a delight. The atmosphere and ambiance is upbeat, and the music is fun! Definitely worth stopping by!
google avatar

Yelp
Celebrating my man's bday at Tori Bar was the move! Actually for any regular occasion too hahah We love coming to Tori Bar! Great ambiance for happy hour and dinner. Cute date night spot! You could sit on the bar or table. No reservations for small groups. There's also outdoor seating for when the weather is nice! We for sure ordered various hand rolls. So fresh and we're not small! We also did some skewers. This was during happy hour too! The Mentaiko fries are a must. I'm not sure what they put in the mayo drizzle on their fries but it's soooooo addicting. I literally dream about these fries. Really everything we ordered were all hits and no misses !! Any and all of their drinks are crafted so well! They also do cocktails of the month!
google avatar

Yelp
So I'm low key mad none of my friends told me about this but that's okay because this place ROCKS! The happy hour is insane because the variety of things you can get is pretty much unmatched. The price the value is great since you're paying 3-7 bucks per. The king oyster mushroom is not super flavorful so I'd recommend dipping it in sauce, perhaps it was done so to let the mushroom flavor stand out. Japanese sausage - it's essentially a grilled hotdog with a thin layer of sweet glaze. Sweet and savory it's pretty good. Blue crab handroll - now this was absolute perfection , the crab was fresh and the roll Had some heft to it. A must try in my opinion As for the ambience - the setting is darker with dim lighting. It's a pretty upscale looking place that gives off night life vibes. Service was excellent just what I'd expect from the sister restaurant of izakaya tori. Fantastic overall would come again When's our sushi date ?

Yelp
I had two crab hand rolls and a lychee martini . It was ok/good I felt the lychee martini was more tart than sweet and I like mine more on the sweeter side. The hand rolls were good but the eel sauce the guy brought to me didn't seem like eel sauce. The staff wasn't friendly really maybe they were tired im not sure. But a man did faint while I was there and everyone was very attentive . We had to sit outside and I'm glad they the big fans turned on so we could be comfortable.

Yelp
Sooo, Tori Bar was a nice dinner with a unique twist on how I usually have my sushi. The atmosphere was lively, though the bass in the music was so loud you could barely hear the actual song. The sushi is served in what I'd describe as a taco style with dried seaweed, which makes it a bit tricky to share if you're with someone you like to share plates with, like me and my sister. I'd recommend it as a fun spot to try, but I'm not sure I'd revisit. What was ordered: Shiso Rangoon: Creative and tasty Chicken Gyoza: Yummy Duck Breast: Can't go wrong Sashimi: Interesting
google avatar

Renelle W.

Yelp
As I opened the door to the restaurant, I was basically transported to a NYC Chinatown. The ambiance definitely gave "big city" energy: dim lighting, and loud music. This is a restaurant perfect for groups but can also work for a date night. Expect to be having tapas (small plates) NOT full entrees. We tried a few things from the menu and everything was delicious with the exception of the Shiso Rangoon...never again with that one. I would definitely reorder the seabass skewer, the spicy salmon temaki, the chicken karaage, and the gyoza. The prices are reasonable for downtown Tampa. Street parking is available, mostly paid. I am looking forward to returning in the near future.

Yelp
Tori Bar in Tampa has quickly become my favorite restaurant in the city. This Japanese tapas spot has such a unique vibe, but be prepared for a wait if you're dining with fewer than six people. I went on a Friday around 8 p.m. and waited an hour for a table for two. Thankfully, you can grab a drink at nearby Edison Food Lab to make the time go by faster. The wait, though long, was absolutely worth it. The concept of Japanese tapas is done so well here, and every dish we tried impressed us with its quality and flavor. It was also my first time trying uni, and I could immediately tell it was fresh and expertly prepared. As for the drinks, the lychee martini was hands down my favorite, though the espresso martini was also fantastic. The spicy tuna hand roll was incredibly fresh and packed with flavor, but my favorite dish had to be the truffle scallop rice--it was so good I forgot to take a picture! Tori Bar left me wanting more, and I'm already looking forward to going back, especially to check out their late-night happy hour and explore more of the Japanese tapas and desserts on their menu. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that parking can be a bit tricky around the area, so plan accordingly. All in all, Tori Bar is an amazing addition to Tampa's dining scene!

Yelp
Who doesn't love a restaurant where everyone can get something different and everyone can share?! I love tapas and the ability to get them during happy hour is my love language! Happy hour ends at 6, so if you come at 5 pm for dinner it is the perfect time! I highly recommend anyone who wants to come to be aware it is not the best location for a large party, but 1-4 people it can accommodate pretty well! I love the aesthetic inside. It gives moody and elegant, but also calm and quiet. Given it is set up with the bar as the focal point it is important to note this restaurant is more set up around alcohol or a "hangout" setting. The food was amazing! We ordered a lemon drop and a strawberry lemon drop and both were amazing-- more on the sweet side, but still delicious. We also ordered Japanese Sausage, spicy salmon and lump crab hand roll, and edamame. I highly recommend the garlic edamame and spicy salmon hand rolls! The spicy salmon hand rolls were more chunks of salmon so beware to those who struggle with raw fish! It also abides by more cultural values with giving chop sticks and water without ice! One sad thing is I also ordered braised pork belly and chicken thighs with salt on skewers and they did not come; however we had to leave and I paid for them. Partly my fault for paying before receiving, but also was crunched for time. However, as a server that is something I would notice and try to fix. The restaurant over all was a great location, close to oxford exchange, downtown Tampa, and other local favorites. It has more specified options so it is not great for picky eaters; however, it would be a great location to grab a drink. Parking also can be pretty difficult with pay to park only on the street and very few parking lots or garages near by. It is a great place to ride bikes or scooters too. Be prepared to walk, Uber, and pay to park.
google avatar

Britt L.

Yelp
Go-to place for some of the best hand rolls in Tampa. So many unique hand roll options and a good assortment of other menu items. Reservations not available for small parties and often have long wait times. This would be an area of improvement I'd love to see. Otherwise, excellent food and service is usually good. Love their apps too!
google avatar

Jennifer P.

Yelp
Tori bar never disappoints! They have the yummiest cocktails and such fresh sushi! I love how everything is small and handheld giving you the option to try several things from handrolls to skewers. The place is so moody and I love the vibes. Service is always great!
google avatar

Meci A.

Yelp
The restaurant has a great ambiance and we were hoping to dine in here, but unfortunately the staff are not very friendly. They see the family with kids but don't mind keeping the door open. The front host not very friendly, we decided not to eat there.

Yelp
Tori Bar is hands down one of the best spots in Tampa! The prices are unbeatable for the quality you get, and the food is consistently top-notch. I ordered the yellowtail jalapeño and the salmon avocado hand rolls -- perfection--fresh, juicy, and packed with flavor. Pair it with mocktail and you have a great deal! Love coming here with my friends and boyfriend.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant was amazing! The entire place was beautifully decorated, creating a great atmosphere from the moment we walked in. The food was just as impressive - the spicy tuna roll, in particular, was absolutely delicious.

Yelp
Excellent food. This is a nice spot that gives off both upscale and casual vibes. A good place to go for any occasion! I came here for dinner with my husband while on vacation. We ordered the tuna avocado roll, spicy tuna roll, tuna sashimi & rice, and steak tataki. The rolls were not your typical sushi rolls. They were shaped like a taco! I prefer the original-shaped rolls but appreciated the creativity. The sashimi was smooth as silk. I also loved the horseradish sauce on the perfectly cooked steak. I would definitely recommend coming here if you like this type of cuisine!

Gwendolyn M.

Yelp
The ambiance when walking in was so fun! Love how they redid the inside. We were sat right away and our server Michaela was on top of it. I don't think our drinks were ever empty. She was a fantastic server with a great personality. I manage resorts and have been in hospitality management for 17 years and was very impressed with her. The food was also great! Loved the duck and waygu skewers the most as well as the matcha crème brûlée. All were amazing and everything we ordered came out so fast. The only thing that was missing, that I personally would have liked to see on the menu, was specialty sushi rolls. Definitely will be back! - dragon fly tattoos

The ambiance is very nice and welcoming. Our server was great and knowledgeable of all the things we inquired about. Service was fast as well(Wednesday @7pm) Food was pretty average. As a japanese food lover, I've frequented a few yakitori places and nothing about Tori Bar stood out or topped the rest as far as food. My King Oyster Mushroom was rubbery and super bland. The scallops were lackluster and quite bland. It seemed as if the chef was a little shy with seasoning of those. The Tsukune was the most flavorful out of the yakitori, but even so still could've been taken to the next level. I truly enjoyed the Salmon Crudo, it had multiple elements of flavor and textures. I would definitely order again. My family enjoyed the fries. My guest's handrolls were hefty and seemed filling. The cocktails are delicious. I would visit for cocktail / happy hour. I appreciate the inclusion of matcha. I had two matcha martinis - YUM and a matcha crème brûlée.

Yelp
First time checking out the Tori Bar and everything was exquisite! The whiskey cocktails were unique and delightful! All the food from the tasty Japanese fried chicken to the variety of juicy grilled meat skewers, and in particular the lamb with mint aioli was so robust with flavor! I can't forget the service was so amazing and the waitress made such great recommendations!! Most definitely will be coming back again sooner than later!!!

Yelp
Nice ambience and beautiful place however tables are super small to fit on the food. People are seated super close to each other. Otherwise food is yummy. Definitely worth a try.

Yelp
Loved the vibes of this place. Outdoor seating was chill. Would recommend coming here on a date! Skewers and hand rolls are great. Lychee highball is a must.

Yelp
Another great restaurant at this seemingly cursed location. I really hope Tori stays bc the vibe, bar, food and service are all top notch. My compliments to the manager who is clearly running a tight ship there and very hands on ensuring every guest is well taken care of. I love their other restaurant, so I had no doubt I'd be equally as fond of whatever they served. The fish was fresh and the other small bites we had were just as good. I do wish they offered the Izakaya roll here though :)

Yelp
Tori bar you were incredible!!!! I visited for some late night cocktails and snacks with friends (highly recommend for late night happy hour). We had such an amazing time here splitting a bunch of skewers and hand rolls. The 6 o'clock in Tokyo might be one of the best takes on a gin fizz I've ever tried. The food was so delicious I forgot to take pics, but we absolutely loved all the skewers, hand rolls, chicken karage, fries, and cocktails on our evening out. The skewers and hand rolls were on the smaller side for portions but it allows to sample many different types. Late at night, the restaurant is on the noisier side but it didn't hinder our meal, and our server took great care of our large party despite a busy night in the restaurant. Will definitely be back to Tori bar!

Yelp
After receiving so many recommendations to this place, I finally made it--and wow, just wow. If I could've ordered the entire menu, I would've! Seriously, everything we tried was amazing. Nothing was a miss. The standout dishes I highly recommend (and were also suggested to me) include the Hokkaido scallop and truffle paste hand roll, smashed Japanese cucumber (trust me on this one), hamachi crudo, Hokkaido scallop truffle carpaccio, fresh salmon crudo, mentaiko fries, truffle scallop rice pot, and the wagyu beef skewer. This place is a gem, serving some of the freshest fish I've had, and it's now at the top of my list for sushi spots in the Tampa Bay area.

Yelp
Had an awesome first experience here at Tori Bar! We tried a spread of sharables and they were all very delicious. Some notable favorites were the crushed cucumbers and the steak tataki -- just wow! They have a wonderful happy hour menu for both food and drinks. The ambiance is really what sells this spot for me. It's dark, moody and a total vibe. I'll definitely be back again for happy hour or drinks.

Yelp
Forgot to take pictures, but place is pretty bumping and I recommend a look Everything was delicious. Acoustics are a little loud, which is great if that's the mood you're in for. Lotta people talking and enjoying their stuff. No reservations for small groups so plan accordingly they told us like a 45 minute wait but we were in there in 20 or 30 Service fell off a little towards the end and when they try to run you out a lot of plates to a 24 inch circle table it can get a little tricky Food and ambience were strong enough to warrant a Five, also bathrooms are a little weird, but I guess that's a south Tampa thing where you've gotta walk outside to use a Building shared one

Yelp
The food here is phenomenal. Sashimi is what I always order. They have vegetarian options, they have gluten free options. They have it all. The bartenders are all really great and know their stuff. The ambiance is cutesy, elevated. The plates come out as they are ready so kind of Asian tapas style! Great happy hour prices too!

Yelp
I've only been here once and I'm really mad about it. Let's get into it. What I had (split with a friend, don't judge me!): lychee martini lidako kara age (calamari) shrimp and chicken gyoza shiso rangoon braised pork belly skewer lamb lollipop Chilean sea bass matcha creme brulee We loved and devoured it all. One note: The lamb lollipop was only good when it's hot. If you order it, eat it immediately. It got chewy as it cooled off. Also want to add that I wanted to order one of the Wagyu appetizers but they were out. This is a small plate restaurant, so I recommend going with a group of friends so you can try a bunch of different things. Things I didn't care much for with my dining experience: The parking. I parked in a garage about a street over. It was confusing because at the time, the signage indicated that parking was for the restaurant that was previously in this location. The seating. I sat in a table in the back of the place, so I was fine. But if you're seated in the front, you'll be damn near on the floor and bunched together in strange blob. Perhaps it's a cultural thing that ties into the restaurant. Just be mindful in case you have trouble sitting low to the floor. It was packed when I went. I'll be back soon!

Yelp
We arrived a few minutes before opening, with zero expectations, as we had not been here before. We came to the area to see another shop around the corner and became hungry. We looked up Yelp and decided to wait til opening. I'm so glad we did. I am a carnivore, I don't eat seafood but my best friend does. As we waited several others showed up to wait with us which was a great sign that this place is the place to be at 4pm on. Saturday afternoon. We did not need reservations and all the hosts were gathered at the front door, waiting for us. At first, since we were a party of 2, we were seated at a small round table. However, my friend asked to be seated at a high-table next to us in the "bar" area. It had a slightly bigger square table. Although she had not been here either, she must have seen what was coming because we used more than the space provided. In fact, I think we ordered most of their meat and veggie plates from their amazingly priced Happy Hour Menu! They kept bringing us small plates of skewers and we kept having to consolidate them. We had the regular Pork Belly, the braised Pork Belly, the Smashed Cucumber Bowl, the german sausage skewer, the eggplant, the fries, the chicken wing, the regular fried chicken, the streetcorn and she had a hand roll? Whatever that was was made into a beautiful presentation. The waitstaff was super nice and helped us simmer down our orders by telling us what we should share. We did order another eggplant skewer because I think that was the best part. The service was quick to clear plates as we cleaned them. We ate everything. We both decided that the flavor of the fries, pork belly, eggplant and cucumber was the best! I will miss that place when I leave. I want to go back before I fly out. Since then, we have suggested this restaurant to many friends other the last few days. As we sat and finished our meal within the hour, the place was completely packed! Every table, booth, and seat at the long bar was completely full. It gets loud but it's worth it. We even saw a birthday party towards the back. The one thing to note is that the toilet is detached and is a part of the Oxford Exchange so essentially you're walking through several doors and into another building to use it. Not at all a deal breaker but it is odd.

Yelp
I went here for happy hour and it was amazing! The happy hour deals are cheap and delicious. I did not like the brussel sprouts. I don't think they were cooked enough. Other than that, all the food was good. I highly recommend making a reservation because it was packed. The restaurant is dimly lit, a good vibe, but to access the bathroom you have to walk outside - which was not fun during a thunderstorm!

Yelp
Love this place. Great food and drinks and even better ambiance. I recommend Tori Bar to everyone.
