"The name of this Japanese restaurant is a mouthful, but don't let it intimidate you into choosing a restaurant with an easier name to tell your taxi driver. Named in part for the kind of cuisine it serves (Japanese) and in part for the street on which it's located (Temístocles), Tori Tori Temístocles is known not only for its delicious sashimi and sushi, but also for its architectural design, which is unusual for Mexico , and stunning inside and out."

"Japanese is one of the few foreign foods that locals will regularly trade in for a Mexican meal, and there's a spectrum when it comes to quality. The arrival of Tori Tori has upped the ante (and with it, the price). This chainlet has been around since the 90's, but in the last few years the outposts have all had a major facelift. The most notable is the location on Temistocles in Polanco where two prominent local firms, Rojkind Arquitectos and Esrawe, have given the restaurant a futuristic and somewhat nightclub-y feel. The menu here is pretty extensive with everything from simple nigiri to classic mayo laden rolls, but the marinated tuna rice bowl, and the sushi cake—crispy morsels of rice topped with a slice of shrimp, salmon, or tuna—are where it's at."

Husband took-out for a surprise date here and we loved it! Sushi was great & so was the rice bowl. I loved the atmosphere of this place & how green, private it is. Definitely worth the price!

Absolutely gorgeous restaurant. Great vibes. Good food. Definitely paying tourist prices in Polanco. Salmon Nigiri -4/5 Tuna Nigiri - 4/5 Unagi Nigiri - 5/5 Chutoro Nigiri - 4/5 Wagyu Nigiri - 5/5 Tapioca Dessert - 4/5 The restaurant is gorgeous. Super chic. Great DJ with a good music selection. The eel and waygu nigiris were really good. They came with additional foie gras, and torched. The Chutoro was just okay…wasn’t the best quality. The dessert and the carajillo were delicious. Great combination. Prices are definitely on the high end. Service was great.

Very good spot for sushi and sashimi. Their specialty rolls are some of the most creative I have seen, and they do a flawless job of marrying mexican styles to Japanese fare. Their spicy tuna roll and tuna tartare are delectable, and their house sake is exceptional. Their crunchy rice roll also earned a special place in my heart. Absolutely delicious. Service was wonderful, and the staff was highly knowledgeable of the menu. It's one of the best spots for sushi in the city, hands down.

Simply one of the best Japanese restaurants in Mexico City. Sashimi is fresh, rolls are creative and tasty and a good selection of sake and deserts

Highly recommended Japanese restaurant! Went here to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and the attention from the entire staff was extraordinary. Now, talking about the food... It is pretty good. Sushi rolls, Rib eye entrées and main dishes (meats and sea food) were very tasty. Cheesecake for dessert was fairly good as well. On the other hand, worth to mention, that the Restaurant itself is amazing. I mean, the architecture captures your eyes and the vertical garden transmits peace vibes.

I love this place, I've been going there for three years. Great food, nice design, good service. I remember that before there was very high-quality electronic music, very deep, original, refined... I often went there just for the atmosphere! I haven't been there for about six months, and recently I came again. And... I was very surprised that the music is completely different now, it is mostly banal and ordinary pop music. As a result, the atmosphere has become much simpler, not as unique as it used to be. This is so sad... I really hope that the old music style will be back, because it was the great advantage of this place. P.S. came again 23.1.25. And I can't believe, but the famous old atmosphere is back. The high-quality music instead of loud pop music. I'm just so happy... The next day, 25 January I came again. And I will continue coming, because this is one of the best restaurants in terms of food, service and, yes, atmosphere. I hope it will be forever like that. Great job.

Really liked the atmosphere at this cool Japanese spot in Polanco. Very non descript from the street but once inside the vibe is great. We shared a couple of sushi rolls, some apps, and the teppanyaki. Food was good, not great. The problem was with paying. My credit card was rejected, they tried it 5 times. Then my gf tried hers, also rejected. Then they tried mine 2 more times. Rejected. Then they proceed to say they've had issues with their machines and to hold on while they boot up the old system to try. It was a bit embarrassing to have my card rejected multiple times which has never happened before. This same card I had been using all over Mexico city up to this point and only after they tried it 10 times I'm told oh maybe it's not the card but the system. So we had to wait 30+ minutes for them to boot up the old system. Not one person apologized for the delay, not an offer for a drink or dessert while we had to wait. Nothing. No manager coming over to explain the issue. I've never experienced anything like this before but I get it, things happen. But to have nobody offer any apology or anything for having to wait around to pay the bill is absurd. I'll never be back and I would not recommend

Yelp
Don't mistake this one for the other Tori Tori in polanco. We sadly did. The restaurant itself is a beautifully done structure. The shishito peppers tasted old and didn't have enough char. The miso soup was ok. The ribeye hot rocks was good. The staff don't speak any English and the English menu had no descriptions. Edit: rampant diarrhea after dining here. Likely the miso soup

Yelp
We walked roght past the restaurant, but fortunately walked back to find it. Very cool atmosphere and some of the best sushi we've had. My kids were thrilled will the amount of tofu in the mison soup. One warning g. Not.a bad thing, but the rolls are much larger than those you get in the US. So order accordingly.

Yelp
We came in a large group and ordered too much food. We got wine, lots of vegetable appetizers, the chef combo nigiri, sushi cakes, and the chilli chilli. The mushrooms were exceptionally good. The wine was good, and the vegetarian options were yummy. The fish was high quality. The chilli chilli fish was a little bland.

Yelp
My two favorite Japanese restaurants in Polanco are Makoto and this Tori Tori. I haven't been to the other location in Polanquito to compare, but I love the ambiance here. The service and food are also on point. The seafood is noticeably fresh. It's not cheap, but neither is anything in Polanco, especially fresh sushi. I highly recommend this place. As a tip, if you're looking for a sign, don't look. There is no sign. Also, I highly recommend the terrace seating if you're looking for a more private dining experience, which probably won't be offered to you unless you ask.

Yelp
The vibe was great and the staff went out of their way to make sure we were having a great meal. 1. You feel like you need a secret code at the door as it is unmarked and a big black door guarded by a bouncer. So fun! 2. We came at 6:30 on a Friday and did not need a reservation 3. Would recommend the red sake 4. The king crab cakes (croquetas de jaiba) were my absolute favorite 5. The pulpo crudo or any version of that is phenomenal. Wish we would have had room for dessert! It looked awesome

Yelp
Basic food and drinks but hardest part was The staff has very limited English communication abilities. Had a lot of difficulties with our waitress and communicating was real struggle. Outdoor seating and music was ok. Not best sushi I have ever had but considered decent. We also ordered chicken teriyaki and asked waitress if meat was grilled. She assured us it was but it arrived more like white blanched or steamed chicken with no flavor. There was also No seasoning on broccoli and mushrooms very bland meal overall. Perhaps instead of dinner a lunch here with just basic sushi could be a better experience. Very overrated. We will not return.

Yelp
Overrated. I booked reservations for my sister's birthday since she was visiting me in Mexico with some friends. A few people recommended it so I decided to go for it over El Japonez... and that was a mistake. The location is not gorgeous like El Japonéz and while El Japonez is super busy Saturday, half this place was empty. The food was overpriced and was just ok. I won't be returning.

Yelp
Reviews were right, more expensive than its worth. We had a seaweed salad, shrimp + chicken gyoza, crab croquettes, and buttered clams. The only thing that was worth getting was the buttered clams. I came here with my husband, the service is sexist. They would change his plates and napkins between courses, I didn't get any of that even though everything was served on a shared platter for both of us. But also they would make sure his wine and water glass was filled to the brim, and mine would be DIY service. It's fine, but annoying, and makes me wonder what if I just came dine with my girl friends.

Yelp
Yay! To say I'm a fan would be an understatement. I LOVE this place, the only reason its lost a star is cause the service could do with a swift kick up a few of the staff members backsides. Mexico slow would be another understatement. What the service lacks the food most certainly makes up for. Nothing is average or standard here. The ever ubiquitous miso soup is offered with different herds & spices. The steak yakitori is delicious but the sashimi takes the prize albeit also breaking the bank a little. Not cheap for CDMX but compared to Stateside not bad either. Highly recommeneded

Yelp
This it the best of the Tori Tori locations in Mexico City. Don't expect a the sushi to be amazing but it's decent. The atmosphere and architecture is great. I recommend sitting outdoor on the patio. Recommendation: steak yakitoro is delicious, lychee mojito might be the best cocktail I've ever tasted

Yelp
Super posh and sexy interior with great service (and English-speaking, nonetheless). This is a great place for a romantic date, to take a business partner to close a deal, or for any special occasion. Dinner for three including three alcoholic drinks rang up to ~100 USD. Between my parents and I, we split an 8 piece sushi + nigiri platter, black cod entree, beef carpaccio, udon, and edamame. Everything was fresh and came out moderately fast, as we ordered plate by plate. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This place is delicious. I love the ambiance. It has a live green wall. The service is great. Good drink selections. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
The decor is beautiful and the service is generally decent. The food was decent. The dragon roll had salmon on top instead of eel, which is a departure from the dragon rolls in the US, but it was good. There was probably too much rice in the roll, but it was not bad. The chirashi bowl was pretty good with good quality fish (not the best but decent). I didn't see wasabi anywhere but that was fine since there was some soy sauce on the table. The mochi ice cream (two pieces) was what you would expect to find at a grocery store.

Yelp
This is def a sashimi place NOT sushi. The quality of the fish is superb. The sushi is terrible particularly their rice. They only sale off the menu so do not expect anything special. Their nigiri and rolls are run of the mill and what you would find in a mediocre sushi restaurant. Their service and ambiance is awesome. They also have very good drinks. This is one of the few places in Mexico City where you can find a good martini.

Yelp
It's a fantastic place. I just hated that the service was so slow. It took forever for our food to arrive, and that's why I don't give them five stars. However, once the food arrived it was fantastic. Great food, great environment, the service could approve.

Yelp
To pricey for such basic food. We order rice and chicken and we had to pay over $65, water alone were $6 (tiny little bottles same brand u get at gas station for 5 pesos or $0.25 dollars). This restaurant favors smokers and non smokers have to sit inside, which is a disrespect. Will NEVER go back!

Yelp
I have been wanting to visit this restaurant since I became aware of the amazing space created by Rojkind Arquitectos. The space certainly did not disappoint. The expert lighting enhanced the dramatic setting at night. The food was good. We ordered a miso soup that was a bit on the bland side but the appetizers made up for it. The breaded chicken on skewers and shrimp tempura were delicious. Next we ordered the Dragon and Spider rolls which were flavorful as well as the spicy salmon roll. The service was impeccable. Several of the staff were consistently at our table to attend to any need. The clientele was very posh so do dress to impress. Highly recommend coming here and will visit again on my next trip to Mexico City.
