had a wonderful experience dining at Torisho Sai. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy, and the garden view adds a calm, relaxing touch that makes the meal feel even more special. The highlight of the meal was definitely the first two dishes—the chicken thighs were unbelievably tender and full of flavor. The soup was another standout: warm, soothing, and perfect for rounding out the savory courses. The chefs were also very friendly and even showed us the special salt they use, which had a lovely, refined taste that elevated the dishes. If there was one small downside, it would be the dessert. While the flavors were nice, the portion felt a bit too small, with just a grape, a strawberry, and some matcha. Overall, Torisho Sai offers a comforting atmosphere, attentive chefs, and beautifully prepared dishes—especially the chicken. A memorable dining experience.

An incredible meal and experience. An omakase of poultry that was next level. Attention to detail was amazing, staff were friendly and accomodating (I was able to swap gizzards to quail eggs and heart to chicken skin!). Portions were generous. Great wine list. Beautiful Resturant. I loved all the dishes so much and I’m still thinking about the chicken noodle soup! What was also amazing is we got overcharged with our drinks (by $200 aud) and our hotel reached out on our behalf. There was no issue and the owner was extremely apologetic and dropped off cash the following day to our hotel. What incredible service!!! I highly recommend this restaurant and it truely deserves a Michelin Star

Even though we brought our one-year-old baby to the restaurant, the staff and the chef were incredibly kind. The food was excellent—especially the chōchin—and the sake recommendation was truly authentic

The food was excellent - we got to try all the different parts of the chicken as well as other various dishes - our favorite was the mushroom - juicy, flavorful; we have never had anything like that. Service was also superb - we scheduled the wrong date originally, but they took the time to accommodate us, even bringing out an extra table and treating us with kindness. Would definitely recommend!

Family members who went here last year highly recommended this restaurant to us, and we truly enjoyed it. First of all, the restaurant setting was absolutely beautiful, calm, and relaxing. I loved the design with the live slab counters and all the copper on the walls and giant copper light fixtures. The chef and staff presented us with 15 courses. Everything was so tasty and delicious but to me, the sukiyaki dish was perfection. I would have loved a big bowl of that with some rice as a very comforting meal. And the yakitori were delicious. All the staff were professional and friendly throughout. And it seemed special that the chef walked us out the door at the end to send us off. We'll definitely return when visiting Kyoto in the future.

Personally this was the best dining experience I had in Japan. It completely blew my mind. The chef took an ingredient many people consider simple, chicken, and turned it into an extraordinary meal. Every piece was selected with care and cooked with a specific technique, often over open fire or charcoal, creating deep flavour, amazing textures and showcasing cuts that are rarely seen in Europe unless you prepare them yourself or ask your butcher for them. He transformed parts that many would normally ignore, such as the small chicken heart or the liver, into something incredibly delicious. If you enjoy a bit of culinary adventure and are open to trying cuts you might not usually eat at home, I truly recommend this place. Even my girlfriend, who never eats these cuts in Italy, enjoyed every single one. The setting is stunning, the restaurant is beautiful and the staff are extremely welcoming. This is an experience that anyone visiting Kyoto should try at least once in their life. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.

Had a wonderful meal at this place - Tasty food with excellent execution (my favorites were chicken neck and chicken wing). Beautiful environment with a good balance of modern and traditional elements. The team is so friendly and made sure that all guests are taken good care of. Will recommend to my friend and visit again if I had a chance.

An Unforgettable Yakitori Experience in Kyoto! If you're looking for an exceptional yakitori meal, this is the place to go. From the moment we walked in, I was struck by the beautiful ambiance. The atmosphere was perfect – elegant yet inviting, creating a wonderful setting for the meal ahead. We were seated at the counter, which offered a super view of the chef in action right before our eyes. And the food... every single dish, from the first bite to the last, was absolutely excellent. Each piece of yakitori was perfectly grilled, showcasing incredible flavor and texture. It's clear that only the highest quality ingredients are used. Also the final ramen was one of the best ever tasted! I cannot recommend it highly enough
