It is a very costly meal for what it is but since it is a once off, Im glad I tried it. I really liked their croquettes. Lovely crisp on the outside and very soft and tasty on the inside. The chicken broth is elegant - keeping the taste of the chicken without adding anything else. They serve lovely sake and I really enjoyed my glass.
I also enjoyed seeing the master work behind the counter.
They were happy to serve us even though a sign was put outside saying they have finished their oyakodon. Perhaps because I was with my 11 year old. Thank you for having us.

Oyakodon was very soft and tender it almost just melts in your mouth. Please try if you are around. We went about half an hour early and there was no queue during the weekday. We were one of the first groups to go in but when we came out there was a queue so be mindful.

I came because I heard this place made great oyakodon. They offer 2 options: normal, and small oyakodon.
Simple but elegant oyaku don. I came at a unique time because either influencers or a TV crew were filming trying out their shabu-shabu sets (they're called Ramen Mister? I dunno). Although the menu outside is only in Japanese, they do have an English menu. I was immediately seated in the bar seating.
They offered an upgrade to a small set (so ¥1800 to ¥2000), and their soup is clear with spring onions, reminding me of a Hainanese chicken rice soup: clear and simple, and not too salty but good to cleanse your palette, and a small assortment of picked vegetables.
The head chef cooked the chicken in a big oven which was super cool, it looked like he was baking a pizza. Then when the oyakodon arrived, I regretted not ordering the regular sized oyakodon because it looked and smelled really good. The chicken was tender with a hint of roast.
Would come again if I'm craving for oyakodon

The queue before it opens starts pretty early. They also have the master chef already ready to whip up meals. Their special oyakodon is limited to 20 servings.
The food was tasty, but seriously though, for 2300 yen, it's a bit on the high side.
Don't think I will be back so soon.
I do like the rustic vibes though. The old school feel is the best.
There was also a long queue when I left

I'm not sure why this place is so hyped up. Maybe I didn't order correctly. There was a line starting from 11:30am on a weekday, but almost everyone got in (15-20 people) with no additional wait. I ordered the premium oyakodon. It was just chicken breasts cooked on a stone pot with rice and egg. It tasted healthy, I'll give it that but there was nothing memorable or special about it. If you're in Tokyo only for a few days, I'd pass and try something more unique unless you really want this.

I have came here multiple times, delicious as always. Dinner is expensive than lunch, although the content is the same.

We arrived at around 11:00 during the weekdays, and was the 1st in the line. By 11:30 there were in total 16 people in the line. The 特上親子丼 is very tasty. Fresh ingredients. The price is incredible for such good food. It totally worth way more. Really appreciate their spirit.

A decent bowl of oyakodon. I would think It is not mind blowing as perceived but it was a tasty bowl of oyakodon. Not cheap also at 2000 yen per pop for small size or 2500 yen for normal size. The chicken wings cost 1600 yen. More tourists than Locals
