Chef Anastacia Quiñones-Pittman on José in Dallas Celebrating Its Seven Year Anniversary | Eater Dallas

"Celebrating seven years in business, José feels like an institution for many — a place to commiserate or celebrate — and I find few dining experiences in Dallas as beautiful as the one it offers: a unique façade, an indoor-outdoor patio, luminous dining room, rich color palette, and traditional Mexican décor. Under chef Anastacia Quiñones-Pittman and owners Brady and Megan Wood, the menu draws on Jalisco-style cuisine inspired by travels to Guadalajara, Oaxaca, and Mexico City rather than strict authenticity; highlights include the tacos de tacha on heirloom masa (featured on Netflix’s Taco Chronicles), Baja-style mahi-mahi tacos, a lion’s mane tinga, standout seafood dishes and enchiladas, and an amply inventive cocktail program. Creativity is evident in the seasonal Tacos de Tacha — short rib on cold, rainy days, squash blossom in peak summer, and impromptu salsas when fruit is on the verge — and the restaurant has benefitted from guest-chef collaborations that have kept the menu lively. The team showed resilience during COVID, pivoting from fine dining to producing over a thousand to-go meals a day for hospital staff while keeping and supporting employees through family meals and close teamwork. The restaurant’s profile has grown — Anastacia was a James Beard semifinalist for Best Chef in Texas in 2023 and 2024, José was filmed for Taco Chronicles, and Anastacia appears in a Visit Dallas campaign poster with personal Easter eggs — and the restaurant plans to keep evolving; reservations are available now for seventh-anniversary parties on May 4 and 5 with live music, a food truck, and special treats." - Courtney E. Disappointing Experience – Would Not Ride Again Unfortunately, my experience with this bus line was not a good one. When I purchased the ticket, I was told it would be a nonstop trip, but that was not the case — the bus stopped at several stations along the way, which made the ride longer and more frustrating. From the start, there was a strong, unpleasant smell coming from the restroom, and it lasted the entire trip. The restroom had no toilet paper and no place to wash your hands, which was very unhygienic. The seats were not comfortable. The air conditioning barely worked, and it was hot the whole way. To top it all off, the staff at the bus station were rude and not helpful at all, which made the experience even worse. Overall, the service was poor, and honestly, I guess you get what you pay for. I would not ride with this bus line again unless major improvements are made.

Could not charge our phones the WHOLE 20 hr trip because the outlets weren’t working and then the AC started leaking?? Had me soaked so I finally mentioned it to the driver and he said “It must be the AC because it’s not raining outside” Pa la otra arreglen bien sus camiones en vez de tener a sus pasajeros enpapados con agua todo el camino.

Service was friendly mostly used by the Hispanic Latino community but anyone welcome the terminal attendant Rochellio is super kool and very helpful even though I knew little Spanish. It was one of my crazy Gemini spontaneous moment to get on the bus and go to Mexico for the weekend for some good food and short vaca… why not. Yes, the bus was 30 min late, but they load luggage, passengers and within 7 minutes we were on the road. The bus clean and the seats are better than Spirit 😂. I read other reviews, I get it people get upset for delays but planes have delays and cancellations on top of it too.

If you talk to Maria on the phone for a simple question half way through the question she will transfer you without letting you know and need to explain your situation again. Very rude.
