Tornado Taco

The burritos taste okay, maybe because I had higher expectation from other reviews. I think the food is freshly cooked, price is reasonable and the patio is nice. I wouldn't crave the carnitas burrito 🌯 to make a trip out here for it. If convenient, I'll stop by to try something else.

Ok hear me out. It looks like a shack, it looks like it's been there forever. This is for a reason, you are about to have some of the most delicious tacos of your life. The service is always friendly but not overly so that it's forced. You can order online for pickup which is a life saver sometimes with how long the lines are. Whether it's breakfast burritos with perfectly cooked chorizo and eggs or birra tacos after a long day the consistency is remarkable. Prices were raised a little while back but they are still reasonably priced for the serving sizes.

I asked for corn Tortillas, I received flour? The so called ground beef looks like dog food, they were not good to me, little to no flavors? Yuk...

Tornado Taco has never let me down! I ordered the spicy ground beef nachos. When my food was handed to me, it was heavy! I've never had diced potatoes on nachos but that is a great addition! It was loaded with beef and cheese. There were no naked nachos For $8.99, I feel I got my money's worth! I was able to share with my bf and we still had nachos left over. It's almost like a second meal the next day; tortilla casserole. Taco Cabana nachos has nothing on Tornado Taco! I can't wait to try more of their menu items!

Tornado Taco is the pure definition of love it or hate it. Under first impression, I thought that Tornado Taco was an amazing value. The tacos were loaded with bacon, tortillas were tasty, the amount of ingredients were just right. After several further visits over the years, I realized that there is no consistency in quality here. The only thing that has been consistent visit after visit is their salsa verde. Most of the time, the bacon is loaded but stuck together. The bacon is not crispy but chewy and dry. The tortillas leave a lot more to be desired. They aren't as bad as store quality, but they are nowhere near the deliciousness of homemade.. The amount of egg that I get in my taco is very inconsistent too. Sometimes there will be a sliver of egg, whereas other times there's so much egg that you could call the taco a burrito. Their barbacoa used to be amazing. Now it is typically flavorless and dry. The lunch/dinner menu is absolutely terrible. Breakfast tacos are the only thing I've found edible here.

The nachos were ok for the price point and serving size but the lemonade was horrible. There was no sign on a lemon, sweetness, or even a tart flavor anywhere. Will try again but a different dish since this place came highly recommended but friends.

We've been frequenting Tornado Taco in Missouri City for years, and it never disappoints! The potato queso bowls are a standout favorite, and the Birria tacos are simply amazing. The mango habanero salsa is a must-try—flavorful and surprisingly mild. Highly recommend!

We had to try Tornado Tacos because we loved Tornado Burgers and we found out they were owned by the same family. They give you plenty. My wife got the tater & queso bowl with shredded chicken....this was 5 stars, tasty and easier to eat in the car. Our son got the 5 crispy tacos special, I copied him. They were 4 stars....The hamburger meat could've used more seasoning, the crispy shells were all soggy on the bottom and fell apart, still worth the price and I had fun using the first eating device....fingers. The tacos came with a red salsa and a green salsa, both were very good, the green had some nice heat to it. Our son got a side of the best charro beans, we all tasted it and wished we'd ordered more. We showed up on a rainy day so I wasn't able to take as many pics as I wanted to.....next visit. Yes there will be another trip to Tornado Tacos. They have some outdoor seating.

Stopped by here since I was in the area for work. The reviews and the foot traffic were promising, but I didn't think it was that great. I ordered one breakfast taco with egg, cheese, potato, and beans. The lady who took my order asked if I wanted mild, spicy, or bold salsa- I went with spicy, which was a green salsa (tomatillo I think?). The taco was kind of bland. I was worried it would be overly salty but it was quite the opposite. The ingredients, however, did taste fresh and of good quality. The tortilla was also very good. The salsa was indeed hot but also lacked flavor. I also got the horchata, which was terrible. It was unbearably sweet and I could hardly taste the cinnamon or rice. Just sugar.

Genuinely enjoyed these tacos! It may not look like much from the outside, but the tacos really hit the spot. If you're craving tacos and are in the area, I would highly recommend this place! Simple yet delicious.

Stopped by driving through Houston & this place did not disappoint. They were very quick and the workers were nice. The food was great! The birria tacos are flavorful and the consume was great. The rice was a little dry but the refried beans were good. The queso was decent, lacking a little flavor though. But the shredded chicken burrito... WOW! It had so much flavor, the meat was tender, it was super fresh and it was a great portion of food. Definitely want to come by here again!

Easily one of favorite places not only in FBC or the burbs, but maybe in the whole Greater Houston metro as well. The food remains incredibly well priced. They are always exceptionally upfront about price increases and everything is good. Had a torta, son had a quesadilla, both fantastic. The salsa is legit, too. FYI, it was actually a half quesadilla and still big enough to feed too. Service is always prompt and courteous .

This was a hidden gem for me! They have the BEST tacos. I had their breakfast tacos and they were perfect and so tasty. The bacon was crispy which is the way I like it. They are very reasonably priced. I also love the patio area. It is so cute and peaceful. I can't wait to come back

Ordered the barbacoa lunch plate with queso. Very reasonable price. Nice people, delicious food Came in during a peak window as I had to wait in the drive thru line for a little bit with my car sticking out onto the road

Went to this place because it had 4.0 stars so figured it was good the tacos were good but my torta tasted like straight dish water don't know how that's possible but that's not even the bad part by the powers that be the food gave 6 people the runs I only have 3 restrooms in my house so imagine how that went I'm all for coincidences and second chances but 6 people at the same time I'll never eat here again

The line for the drive thru may look long but they are speedy! So many taco options, like grilled onions or jalepenos! I've called in or ordered breakfast tacos for a crowd the day before and they've always had them ready and hot. Orange and green salsa are hot! You won't be disappointed!

Customer service horrible nobody deserves to get treated the way they did me and my family . Manager messed up my order and refused to give me a refund over charged me nearly 50 dollars I have lived in Missouri city since a kid I will never give them buisness again !

Simply delicious. I've driven by this place many times, and there was always a line of cars. I finally gave it a try today, and I was not disappointed. I got the 4 Quesabirria Plate special. Everything tasted great. The beans were a little unseasoned, but if you add a little bit of consume to it, it makes it a lot better. I will definitely go back and try the other items.

Service is so quick here! They even have a small covered patio in the front to eat as well as a larger covered patio in the back to eat at as well. Prices are fair and portions are big! There is a drive thru also. Food is very good and flavorful! Will come back soon and try more menu items!

Gr8 place to get all day tacos. Now there bira tacos they are no good for it. They are skimpy with the cilantro onion. So cheap with the condiments. Thank you.

Let's start with star of the show... the food* we came to get their birria plate, one burrito, and a beans and rice... The burrito: beef, rice, beans, pico Flavor profile: salt and pepper (very much pepper steak from any Chinese restaurant) just as soft but also oddly chewy... Presentation: burrito was about 2-2.5 inches wide wrapped in a 12 inch flour tortilla a bit on the small side for the price but no complaints other than that. Final take: the flavor of any beef in a Mexican/tex Mex taco spot should not be heavy black pepper and salt... it should have nuance, some garlic paprika even cumin... this had none of that the rice had the color none of the flavor and the beans were flat... Birria plate: beef birria quesadillas, side of rice, side of charro beans* The birria quesadillas: cheese beef birria fried corn tortilla. Flavor profile: grease forward salty but at least had flavor, that being said the flavor wasn't the best, the only saving grace was the hot sauce that I added, the rice was once again disappointing, and the charro beans... one word (mush) Final take: these are almost good, once again the rice and beans fell flat, but they're also the reason I didn't give a 1 star review. Beans and rice: once again... flavorless Final take: my daughter likes the cheese sprinkled on top. Full overview: the service was quick and the person helping was nice, he suggested the steak as the best option... the ambiance was that of a fast food drive through nothing special maybe the patio would be nice to sit at at nighttime... over all this is a far cry from Mexican food and only retains the spirit with the names given to the dishes that look familiar to me but taste nothing like the real article...

Stopped by for lunch on a whim and I am glad we did. Had the street tacos with no complaints. The spicy salsa is actually spicy, and the little tacos had plenty of meat (barbacoa, ground beef, pork). The person who took our order was friendly and professional. There is only outdoor seating, so not ideal for hot weather. We sat in the car and enjoyed our meal. Everything was packed neat and we were given plenty of napkins for the mess they knew we would make.

Good tacos, line move fast. They give you a nice size portion of meat and potatoes. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Love their food...I've had the tacos, breakfast tacos, nachos, torta, and quesadillas. Tried the coke from Mexico and it tasted like regular coke to me. Aside from that it's tasty, fulfilling, and they have great service.

We've already eaten here three times since we arrived in Houston on Friday lol Super tasty food and how awesome is it that they have a drive thru?? Our faves are the barbacoa and shredded chicken tacos, our 2 year old loved her egg and cheese breakfast taco. Will probably be back again before we leave town!

Vibe- This is a great spot in Missouri City for some authentic Mexican food! There's no space for customers inside. You can drive thru or there is a window you can walk up and put your order in. There's also a "taco patio" where you can sit outside and enjoy your meal. Customer service- Great! I've been here a few times and the people that work here are always nice and the food doesn't take long at all! Food/drinks- I got flour tacos with retried beans, rice, cilantro, tomatoes, and lettuce. They were so good! Parking- The building is in a shopping center so there's some parking spots around but it's always easier to just drive thru.

Purchased 2 simply tacos. The flour tortillas were no match for the beef, tomatoes, and lettuce, created a sloppy mess. But the tacos were very good.

Birria, breakfast tacos , lunch, dinner, etc. It's located at the cross streets of Murphy Road and Cartwright in Missouri City Texas. It's a small drive-thru restaurant that carries lots of flavor. Despite the size of it, it's pretty awesome and has a covered sitting area in the front and the back of the restaurant.. ohhhh ! wait a minute I forgot to mention there homemade mild and spicy salsas, absolutely delicious. They have this mango spicy, which is my favorite. Anyway, I hope y'all make it a point to stop by if not, enjoy and share with all your experience. If not you're missing out.

Omg if you've driven past this place you know it's well loved. Their carnitas in salsa burrito is my favorite thing to order. It's soooo good full of flavor and plenty of filling. The quesadillas are huge! The Birria is very good, not too salty and very tender. They are always very friendly and helpful and are usually pretty quick! They have a small outdoor table, but mostly Togo.

The picadillo was my favorite on a crispy shell. The consume was too oily for my liking. Service was ok. Drive thru moves fast.

I eat here multiple times a week. This is a small mom & pop style Mexican restaurant that is capable of serving multiple people throughout the day! I eat here for breakfast and I always get the breakfast tacos. They are cheap and give you big portions of food. The birria tacos are so good and the steak & chicken nachos is a must try. They are not afraid to give you plenty sauce. The staff is nice and works really fast to get their lines down. It is only a small seating area outside so they food probably would be best to-go.

An average breakfast taco. I've definitely had better. I ordered a breakfast taco with egg, cheese and bacon. Coming out at $3.23. It was not worth the 3 dollars. It was small and cold. Cheese just just slapped on there. Definitely underwhelming

I tried the l breakfast tacos on a Sunday morning, and I will say, they were good. It was like a fresher taste vs. being super greasy like some taco places or fast food places that serve tacos can be. The service was ok, but I will definitely come back to try other kinds of tacos that they have to offer.

My boyfriend and I came across this place while driving home the other day and decided to give it a try. I ordered the fajita nachos and my boyfriend ordered birria quesadillas. The nachos were a 10/10 with the meat being so tender and flavorful! The birria quesadillas on the other hand had a weird aftertaste. Either the consome or the birria itself just left a weird taste in both of our mouths. It was tender and you could tell the flavor was there but we couldn't get over the aftertaste. Now for the horchata- honestly this was the worst horchata we have ever had. It was so sweet and tastes just like condensed milk and cinnamon. The color was light brown/tan rather than white which is different than any other horchata I have had. We will definitely give this place another try and just not order the horchata or anything with birria in it. I definitely want to try their burritos and would get the fajita nachos again

loved taco place in missouri city. They have a convenient drivethru & some seating in front and back if you want to sit down. I usually see people lining around the place in the morning for breakfast. Service is fast and food is warm always. If you order a Mexican coke, they come straight out of the fridge and they give you the option of opening it. The mexican cokes are 16oz ones (pretty sizable) and $3 as of 2023. Really good value. Birria and tacos are solid, if you're overwhelmed with options just start with the taco fiesta (4 small tacos with 4 different proteins that you can customize). Comes loaded with the option of mild or spicy sauce (or both) and limes. Solid 5/5 for a good price. Mexican rice and beans are also good here. Great local spot, no wonder I see lines out of the drivethru. No bad experiences here. Must try!

What's not to like? Their tacos are not skimpy- well filled with your many options Barbacoa is the best! I frequently order the street taco fiesta and it is soooo good. Their green sauce is great! Don't let the long lines scare you. (Just don't block other businesses). They move pretty fast!

Tried this place due to reviews. Omggg that was the wrong decision. Tacos are loaded with purple onions (why)???? Birria tacos are light skinned No dark color to shell at all. The consume is just horrible to even dip anything in it. Everything went in trash after one bite.

This place has been on my mind quite a few times. I used to drive by here all the time. And I have finally had it. And........ I'm not too happy. Yes. I know. I didn't get the breakfast tacos. But shouldn't be too far from a regular taco right? Steak quesadilla. Chicken breast taco. Ground beef taco. First. The steak quesadilla. Bland. Red sauce. Bland. The steak was a bit too fatty and didn't add good texture to the chewy cheese. I kept asking myself to add tapatio sauce or cholula sauce. Jus so it could have some flavor . Chicken breast taco was the same. So dry and bland. I didn't understand. The beef taco wasn't bad. Had some flavor. A bit wet and messy. But that just adds to it right? The beef taco tasted very homely. Will I come back to try the breakfast tacos? Maybe.... But overall not too excited to come back.

It's a very small footprint but they produce a great amount of service.. I would definitely suggest that you give it a try..

This has grown to be one of the cleanest and most authentic taco fix in the neighborhood. Burritos are always served fresh and hot. Chips and guacamole will have you popping that ice cold mexican coke alongside.
